I'm off the September Bus before it even leaves the station and thanks to my longer cycle I thought I'd start the October page.

I'm so so sorry @Bubble04. Xxx

Bubble04 · 12/09/2017 20:43

Well I'm out before it's begun. Cycle #2 and DH has decided he doesn't want another DC after all. He wants to improve his golf and go on holiday instead. Eh??? I'm at a loss. Feel gutted. Absolutely broken. I know I should be happy to have my 2 beautiful DC, and I am, but we always said we'd have another once we'd got our lives sorted. We've both gone back to uni, got better jobs, live in a nicer area... just thought our long awaited #3 was the natural next step. We've worked so hard to get to a place where we were ready... heartbroken

Fingerscrossedandfairydust · 12/09/2017 20:35

@spongecake23 we are the same! Am also on cycle 5, with AF due 12 Oct. Good luck!!

felicityheather · 12/09/2017 19:38

For those of you thinking of temping I do temp every morning. I have done since January and found it pretty easy to get into the habit. If you wake up particularly early or late it might look a little different but I find I usually wake around 4:30, stick the thermometer in my mouth and then record it later in the day when I'm actually conscious! This morning I genuinely woke up at 7:30 with the thermometer still in my mouth after falling back asleep!!! Mostly I find it no bother. Sometimes I forget, but quite rarely. It helps me massively as my cycles can be super irregular (like can be 100+ days) so it's helped me work out IF I ovulate, although of course it's after the fact!

Aph413 · 12/09/2017 19:37

For the clear blue digital at any rate the first test is a baseline and it compares to that to look for your surge.
I had 2 negatives this week. Today is my first flashing face but I don't have any ewcm so I'm holding out and hoping for a solid face soon.

HolyShmoly · 12/09/2017 19:06

My sister just text to say she'd just had angel cards done and was told that there would be another 3 babies in the family soon. Despite having very little faith in these things and the fact that DSis has a massive family on both sides, I can't help but take hope from it.
FFS.

Aph, I didn't realise that about ClearBlue either, it might be worth it next month.
I'm hoping the fact that I've bought the thermometer will mean that I'll get pregnant without having to use it!

Steaksauce · 12/09/2017 15:33

@HolyShmoly GrinI'd be exactly the same.
I've had a thermometer saved in my amazon basket for about 3 months. I can't even be arsed to buy it

Steaksauce · 12/09/2017 15:32

@Aph413 I didn't know that about the clear blue ones, thanks! I'll look into those but need to use up the cheapies that I've bought (I got a bumper pack from amazon)

I'm lucky that I have regular cycles (28 or 29 days) and have been tracking for about 6 months so have a rough idea but being over 35 I'm paranoid that my body skips ovulation some months so I like to see the surge.

Aph413 · 12/09/2017 14:49

@holyshmoly I started temping the other day probably too late for this cycle but figured I should get in the habit of it.
I can't actually decide in any method I prefer so I've gone in all guns blazing using all methods and I figure after a cycle or 2 I might have found my preferred one!

HolyShmoly · 12/09/2017 14:46

I will do. I bought a thermometer at the start of the month but put it off cause I can't be arsed!

@steaksauce clear blue ones require fmu have you considered those? After a quick learning curve not to start testing in the afternoon and carry on after using fmu which resulted in false positives. I've managed to get them working properly for me as I simply can't take a break during work to use any other opk

Steaksauce · 12/09/2017 14:41

@60sname I read FMU isn't a good idea for opks because it can contain LH from the day before and skew the results.

@HolyShmoly I'm starting to feel the same way but really can't be arsed with temping I don't think - having to do it first thing, at the same time, before you move or speak or anything puts me off as I know I'll forget!
Let me know how you get on though.

HolyShmoly · 12/09/2017 14:16

This is the exact reason I gave up on OPKs quite quickly. FMU is the only one that isn't clear for me and apparently isn't useful for OPKs.
I've decided staying hydrated is more important to me and have just been dtd as often as we can, aiming every every other day. I'm planning on temping next month if this isn't successful so I can at least check if I've actually ovulate.

OP posts:
60sname · 12/09/2017 14:13

Use FMU?

Steaksauce · 12/09/2017 13:57

Is anyone else who uses opks having trouble balancing the need for strong enough urine to get a result on the opk and drinking enough to feel hydrated?

I drink about 2l of water a day (more on gym days as I'm a sweaty mare) and have done for some time, so if I drink a lot less then I feel really thirsty.
My wee (sorry for tmi) is normally either clear or pale yellow and I worry that it's too dilute for the opks to pick up my LH levels.
I don't really want to have to dehydrate myself,
Any ideas?

Hi Ladies,

Joining the bus.

Aged 29
TTC #2
Cycle 7 after MC in January
CD9
Af/BFP due 2/10

Really hope it happens soon, starting to worry it will never happen! Currently doing the couch to 5k to get fitter and loose a little weight. Also finding this is taking my mind off things a little.

Fingerscrossedandfairydust · 12/09/2017 11:42

@felicityheather thanks for letting me know. I think I will test too. It will hopefully put my mind at rest. Good luck and I hope the doctor gives good news!

felicityheather · 12/09/2017 09:13

@Fingerscrossedandfairydust early menopause runs in my family too. I didn't realise they can do a blood test for it. I'm awaiting results of that (among a thousand other tests!) doctors appointment is 25th and I'm terrified. I hate the doctors and I know I have a list of issues.

felicityheather · 12/09/2017 09:12

Hi all!

Age 26
Cycle # 2..? (Since sorting my cycles ...I think ...! Been off bc for well over a year.)
Bfp/af due somewhere around October 2nd.

Hopping on too. I'm on CD10 and starting to get some ewcm. Typically DH has had to go away for a week so bad timing here and probably no chance but I often look like I'm going to ovulate then don't for a few days more so hopefully he'll be home in time!

PabloEscobarlo · 12/09/2017 09:07

Hi @lindypops33 I'm doing ok now thank you. Looks like it was a chemical as my hcg was there then the next test was nothing. So off we go again.

I'm taking the relaxed attitude this time, no opks just dtd every other day for the whole month. Taking the pressure off as we have had such a stressful month- Dp is delighted.
Really although we want this I am thinking the less alterations to my wedding dress would be helpful- although it's not a huge issue

2017willbebetter · 12/09/2017 08:56

Ok folks. This is really happening...eek. Sat in dr waiting room awaiting Mirena removal.

Wish me luck!

pixielove123 · 12/09/2017 08:30

Hi all newbies....!

About the pineapple core... is it one a day? Or one over 5 days?

Fingerscrossedandfairydust · 12/09/2017 07:31

This is my first post - looking forward to having some people to talk to as soooo frustrated with my ttc journey. Been very actively trying (digital OVulation test, Fertile CM, vitamins, Ovia) for four cycles since coming off Mirena Coil but my periods are still very light and short (last was 2 days) though cycle regular and pretty sure I am ovulating...

Thinking of paying privately for fertility tests as am 32 and early menopause is in the family...

Age: 32
TTC: 1
Cycle: 5
AF/BFP due: 12 October
