It's funny you say that, DH and I were talking about it last night, I asked how long he thought it would take when we first started. I was gutted when he said about 6 months All this time I have felt angry, sad, etc but don't think about how he is feeling. Well, I do, but you know what I mean - I have the tears and tantrums and he picks up the pieces, but all this time he has been getting disappointed too.

Last night he said "we'll give it a really good go this month, yeah - what CD is it again?"

Our poor dh's deserve big cuddles I think

I've been without internet access (with the exception of my mobile phone, which gives limited - not enough to look at the threads on MN ) and have been MN cold turkey. Argh!

I know plenty of people's MILs that are like that its a shame really. Just wind her up yourself... yes when we plan to have kids we'll bring them up abroad should do it!

3cats - I think City is right, get yourself to the docs. Now is not the time to let an infection take hold. You don't have to leave this thread just because you might not be actively trying for a bit. We'd miss you Fingers crossed for you over the next two weeks

City - That is so sweet that your dh came and gave you a hug, good ol' boy!! I didn't think dh would be allowed in with me, so I didn't even ask. Gutted now, because it would have been really cool for him to look at the monitor and see my womb and tubes . I am with you on having learnt to never ask someone about babies.

MIL irritated me today, she said that she saw one of dh's old friend's mum in town... "she's still not a grandma you know, and x and x have been together a long while now!" Then sucked her teeth. I felt like saying "How do you know they are not trying but with no luck!!" - I felt like she was almost having a dig at me. Because earlier in the day she also said "you did know that dental care is free when you are pregnant, so you might as well wait to have anything done!"

Ready dh was allowed in although they seemed very surprised I agreed to it. He stood behind the various lines but seemed to surprise them by A: having extended knowledge of the procedure (researched) and B: walking back in for a hug after he saw me in agony. To be honest I was pissed off with their attitude but heh ho. I Can relate so much to your frustration. I am relatively numb to my hopeful side but deep down very gutted. I have learnt never to ask what seems like a general question... so do you want a family...

PS can we all have a pact that if you do decide to move on you say goodbye first. would be very unhappy to lose MN mates

City - If the liquid hasn't come back out now, it isn't going to, so I think it is safe to stop wearing your pad Was your DH allowed in the room while you had the procedure? Mine had to sit outside in the waiting room - one of the nurses made him a cup of tea
CD1 here feeling really low about it actually, more than normal.
Me and DH are doing well, he is 'working', but only on non-contract terms, so nothing is settled and permanent yet - but hoping to change that soon. Fingers crossed.
How are you doing with work at the moment? Is it hard to find excuses to have time away?

3cats - yes!! Where are you?? Is everything ok???

I really hope so any reason would help right now... I felt I was going to pass out from swollen pain at a very late stage in the procedure but before and after that point O was fine.

Still dh was at great anecdotal pains to point out I have no threshold

I can't believe that liquid isn't coming back out! I am sick to the back teeth of wearing pads as for 10 days muff is on strike!

Anyways at least its done...

Don't worry about the dye being absorbed into your body! It's really not a problem, it filters through your kidneys and out in your wee It's a good sign that it spills at the ovary end. The painful feeling could have been a small blockage in one of your fallopian tubes ??? and the solution pushes through - you never know, that could have been what was stopping the BFP and this procedure could have cleared the way

Oops posted too soon it was when the dye reached the top a very sudden swollen feeling really hurt... the speculum thing did too but that rush of sore pain was unexpected...

To add annoying (can any more people strange medical people in East London see my muff) insult to injury when I got home there was a smear test request letter on the doormat!

Absorbing the fluid is a scary thought... they said at the time it looked good which made us very happy. DH seemed to enjoy all the technology involved. Yelping at the last minute when it really hurt didn't do my street cred much good! I am still worried though as a lot of fluid appeared to go in and didn't get out.

I am very pleased there's been no pain after. Did you take antibiotics when you had yours?
I am hoping clearing out the tubes help but have very low hope right now.

3catsoo where are you? Hope all is ok?

The dye disappears into your body, and some does come back out, so they say wear a pad for a day. Did they say anything to you when they did the procedure?? My radiologist told me that the films that she took showed that I 'filled and spilled' which is perfect. Or did they just tell you to wait for your follow-up appointment with your consultant.
Sorry it was painful - was that when the dye was introduced or the speculum and canula before the x-rays? Fingers crossed for you City - flushing the tubes is anecdotally very good for BFPs within 3 months of the procedure. I haven't been successful so far but there's still another cycle

Hi everyone. Survived the HSG. Uncomfortable speculum bit and at one point it really was painful but that soon subsided. How long does it take for the liquid to come out any idea?

I am sorry that you didn't have to do a HPT Stateside, that would have been exciting!! Try not to worry about being a woos, it is an uncomfortable procedure, and they expect anxiety. Expect the worse and I hope it all goes swimmingly for you. I'll be thinking of you.

I am definitely up for a Christmas meet up - not sure where I will be based for a while, but as soon as I do, we can stick a pin in a map It'll be wicked (am I too old to use wicked??) to meet up!!!

Day 3 of AF got it on the plane When I booked the trip my cycles were longer and now I am down to 28 days. Don't know if its the herbal stuff or cycle changes. So bd and holiday didn't coincide. We have now done it every 2nd day of fertile period (day 8 - 25)for 3 months and still no luck. Annoyingly AF is now mostly super tampax all the time and next monday I've had to fake an appointment as its my HSG. Not worried about anything other than being a woos with the pain

Enough about me. Is it just us left or are there any lurkers? How is MrsMC and Desperate2b and everyone else?

Ready hope the south east is working out ok. I was thinking of somewhere with fun, shopping and chilling out for Christmas catch up... any other MNers we can corrupt.... Town... Bluewater...
