Yum was in need of a new thread, and I thought the title was apt because it's not just TCOYF charts anymore... hope it's ok?? I don't want anyone to think I am taking over

Just needing something, anything, to take my mind OFF my impending doom

Hi everyone. Holiday is fun. Sitting here waiting for the airport taxi... going to Florida

AF today so I can sympathise with you Ready cycle buddy. Still not too upset as we didn't try enough last month (after nearly not trying at all) and it would be really bad timing for the new job. AF on the beach sucks but having cocktails doesn't!

Seaside you must be skinny. I can only get into the mens clothes at Abercrombie

MrsMC sorry about your tests. Here's hoping medical advances and investigation can offer a way forward and advice.

3catsoo we have the same delay for Dh's sperm test. Let me know if you find a way round it?

Big hugs to everyone I missed. I haven't had the time to read through.

Ready · 29/04/2007 10:06

I just wanted to apologise for being a really naff MN mate at the moment... my temp dropped dramatically this morning, which signals the game is up - again. And I just can't seem to find the energy to be my usual sparkly self. I will be back soon - as sure as night follows day hey!!

I am thinking of you all

MrsMcJnr · 27/04/2007 23:43

can you tell I'm getting tired?! that should have been - new chart spotting thread here!

MrsMcJnr · 27/04/2007 23:42

Thank you Seaside

Our new charNew threadhere

seaside72 · 27/04/2007 20:44

MrsMcJnr I am so sorry about your test results I find that It is such a mixed emotion to get "bad" results in that you obviously want to know the information and to be able to fix it but on the other hand there is that completely irrational part of you that just wants to shout "why me" and "it isn't fair". I saw your other thread and it seems there is lots of great MN experience out there to draw on and fingers crossed for your appointment - hoping you may get a cancellation or get BFP before and get bumped up the list
So glad you made up with DH before the results. {{{{Big Hugs}}}}

3Cats Know what you mean about the run up to OV and an unco-operative DH have been there before! My DH has been away all this week and ov is due any day now so although it is not ideal I feel a lot less stressed and hopefuly he will too!! He is back tonight so lets hope we have missed each other enough to manage a stress-free OV for once! (Plate samshing can feel really good though )
We have just begun the testing rollercoaster also -GP agreed to start tests in Feb after I had an ovarian reserve blood test done by a natural health doc I use which flagged me up as in the low ertility range (so quality and quantity of eggs is much lower than normal for my age)We have been TTC since March 06 so went back to GP and have now had 2 CD21 tests since then (both good) one sperm test and have a second booked for early May. We have just gotten a private referral to the consultant because I am prepared to pay for the initial investigation to at least see if we have a fixable problem IYKWIM as with my eggs shrivelling by the day I feel like time is really limited - our first appointment with the Fertility Gyny is in 2 weeks

Re your DH's sprem test September is mad?? When the GP requsted the first one in Feb we were given a date in April and when I told our GP he called and got them to move it up to March so maybe it is worth badgering your GP??

City hope you are having a fab holday and shopping like mad (Ohh Abercrombie & Fitch is my fav US store - I am so )

rattling Yay for the temp rise - nice one

Ready Temps are looking good - I think your BD efforts are well impressive and chart looks text book perfection. It is so hard to continue BD after the big week - after all my lunar fertility research I really think it is worth a try - but never seem to be able to make it happen must try harder again!!

Mum03 I am trying to be with you this month on a more laid back attitude to temping - I have temped for the last couple of days and to see where we are at but I think my charts are so boringly regular that it is always the same anyway!? Plus DH hates the beeping thermometer every morning!

Hope everyone is doing OK
Rah I know you are kind of having a month off charting but sending you big hugs and positive vibes

MrsMcJnr · 27/04/2007 19:34

Ok Ready, I?ll start a new thread called Plotting for Pregnancy! Sorry to hear things are no clearer for you today, hang in there hon!

That was sweet of you to look up the thrombophilia! the defect I have is similar to Factor V Leiden. All I know at the mo is that I have the hereditary defect that runs in my family, I don?t know about anything else. It was the result of the tests I had 5 weeks ago. I have a horrible suspicion that I might have had Lupus in the past though. I guess the consultant will look into it all in more depth. I did have blood pressure checks on the pill but as my blood pressure is low, they never looked into it further, even when I got awful migraines (apparently these can be related to the blood clotting issues). My Aunt has 2 children. They are both in their 20s. She was only diagnosed with this after 3 mini strokes in the last few years (she?s under 50). Both of my cousins were under 4 pounds at birth despite being full term. That often happens with blood clotting issues in the mother it seems as the blood can?t get through the placenta. Thanks for all the lovely things you?ve said

Thanks 3Catsoo ? think it?s a question of managing it in pregnancy with anticoagulants to try and support the placenta. Hope it?s not too long before my consultant?s appointment comes through and I can find out more. Luckily DH and I had made up before the results of my test came in I know what you mean about grumpy husbands in the week before OV! Or do you think we just ignore them their huffs the rest of the time? Have a lovely weekend

Hi Rattling I think DH is more bothered about his football team losing, the fact that he hates his job and money than the MC to be honest. I?m not just saying that, I do think that is true. He seems to have perked up for his boys? night tonight anyway!

3catstoo · 27/04/2007 13:40

Ready and Mum03, your charts are looking good.

MrsMc, how are things going today? Have you and DH made up?

No more plate smashing here, just a DH who has had enough of my committees and the effect it's having on the housework!

Not sure if he's had a bad week at work but he's really down in dumps and not happy with me.

It always seems to happen in the week running upto Ov! I'm hoping Ov will be earlier than last month (cd19) as I don't think I'll last the week.

DH goes away at the end of next week too so life will be hectic this week.

Anyway, have a great weekend. sending lots of calm and positive vibes out to you all.

rattling · 27/04/2007 11:55

Ready - with you on the deco property idea. Very few of them around here so I suppose building our own is the only option. Apologies for being flippant with the implantation temp dip comment - I'm not sure I buy any of these as being decisive signs. Staying above your coverline is though, so hope it stays there.

MrsMcJnr - the fact that there is tension in your relationship suggests that your DH maybe isn't coping with things as well as he/you thinks? Can't all be about losing at LaserQuest?

My temp is way up today - did a bit of projection, and if I assume high temps over the next couple of days FF puts me at 3dpo - based on CM and +ve OPK I assume. Not sure I quite believe that. And good as it would be for my LP this month, not so good for BD timing. Ah, well. Always something to work on .

Ready · 27/04/2007 11:24

MrsMcJnr - I have tried to research your thrombophilia in relation to pregnancy ? that is not an easy task! There doesn?t seem to be very many pregnancy specific facts out there! When do you get the Factor V Leiden (?) result? Did the other factors come back negative (lupus?) ? and is just the Factor V they are waiting on? Sorry I am asking lots of questions, but I know nothing about it. Was wondering, you said you shouldn?t have been on the pill ? did your blood pressure checks and everything not show any problems ? presumably not or you would have been taken off it!
It is natural for you to be worried about the road ahead, but you have to see that you are investigating it, because of your knowledge and forcefulness with your GP and having tests. And I know that doesn?t bring Ava back, but you can demand the best care for your next pregnancy and you can be closely monitored.
It is a shame that the family were not tested at the time of your Aunt?s diagnosis. Speaking of which, can I just ask ? does your Aunt have children? What monitoring did she have during?
I apologise if I am being too nosy, if you don?t want to answer any of my questions I will understand.
I read on the other thread more about you and your DH falling out. Oh honey, I am sorry that there is so much going on in your life at the moment that brings tears. I am sure men have to find their way of dealing with things, and if saying Ava was cells helps MrMc to grieve and heal then that is the best way for him. Men tend to be much more black and white about life (my DH certainly is!) where as we women cannot be that way. It?s not in our make-up. Hang in there flower, I know things are tough for you right now ? but you and DH have a solid relationship that can weather the storms!

Apologies for the waffle.

Mum03 - Part time huh!! Enjoy! How?s the house-building going?? Every Friday morning I think of you over breakfast ? haha! The Bricks and Mortar supplement in The Times ? just makes me think of you building your dream! I would love to. My dream would be either a Huf Haus or a Deco property ? complete with Crittal window and White Loveliness! Something tells me I will get neither!

Cityangel - I am not sure I will cope with not knowing if you have got your Ultra Expensive BFP til you get back home! Argh. We are both due on the same day!! Fingers crossed for you! Hope you are having a lovely time!

3cats - Are you feeling less stressed today? No more practising for the local plate smashing competition??

Seaside - Hope you are ok!?

Well? not sure if my temp dip was anything yesterday. My temp did go up a bit this morning, but I had a very disturbed night and have a stonking headache today ? so I assume that would affect my temp one way or the other. So, not reading anything into it. Still feel pre-menstrual and really cheesed off.

3catstoo · 26/04/2007 20:09

Mrsmc - so sorry to hear about your blood clotting. What can they do for that?

Ready · 26/04/2007 19:51

Ok... do you want to start a new thread MrsMc??

Is it interesting?? Really?? So I am not cuckoo for thinking it might mean something???

MrsMcJnr · 26/04/2007 19:41

Think we need a new chart spotting thread don?t you ? it kind of gets me sad to see all the ladies we have lost for the wrong reasons, shall we have a new one?

What?s happened with you Iwillbe?

It IS an interesting dip Ready!!

How you feeling about things Cedar?

MrsMcJnr · 26/04/2007 19:32

Hello Citychangeangel! row got much worse and I slept in another room and cried for hours. Maybe I needed that. Have made up with DH now as can?t bear being cross with him. Probably just as well as I needed his support when I got my blood clotting results out of the blue today. The GP called to say I do have a blood clotting disorder and I am being referred for specialist advice on pregnancy in particular. Felt in shock all afternoon. Now really scared that the path ahead will be a very rocky one. Keep having fun!

3Cats ? men and football hey! I also found out today that he came last in the laser quest challenge that they had at his team away day ? that wouldn?t have gone down well either! As you can see from above, things only got worse!! It makes me very cross though having to be nice for what we want; after all, they want the same outcome! You smashed plates !!

Hey Ready how are you? I am sure the football moods are much worse in our house, I do empathise! Mine goes quiet too but you can still sense the undertone. Glad my pep talk on your chart helped.

Mum03 ? I am jealous as hell

Rattling ? very good point, add those to the 2ww symptoms!

I?ll go for a chart spot?.

Ready · 26/04/2007 16:13

That little mini strop was not aimed at anyone on here... sorry.

Ready · 26/04/2007 16:12

Oh No!!!! You didn't mention Implantation Dip did you?? I keep refusing to allow myself time to think it could be that. I guess we will see what temp is tomorrow. My tummy is getting mild cramps... Oh who sodding knows

rattling · 26/04/2007 12:40

Ready - Looks like you timed everything perfectly this month. Have you considered the implantation temp. dip? If you do get pregnant this cycle we'll all be symptom spotting for depression around fertilisation .

Ready · 26/04/2007 11:33

That last bit about me was aimed at all - not just City

mum03 · 26/04/2007 11:32

Just started working part-time again (rather than full-time), so switching off the alarm clock has helped no end in stopping me temping !!! Am feeling decidedly undecided about this month!!!!

Ready · 26/04/2007 11:30

Mum03 - thanks for the virtual flowers they smell lovely Cheered me up no end! Hope you are feeling a little more chipper? How?s it going with the not temping

MrsMc - So sorry about the tension in your house right now! I can totally sympathise with a bad football result affecting the mood. DH is a nightmare when he plays badly, or doesn?t play at all, and even if he plays, plays well but the team lose ? there is still no hope for the mood. Saturday nights are so dependent on performances and results! Midweek games too [argh] ? I am sure it doesn?t help, but you are not alone! DH goes very quiet and no matter what I try to do to lift his spirits, it rarely works!
Thanks for looking at my chart. And glad to hear that you think it looks ok. I do too ? but I am sure you understand the irrational worrying I giggled at the thought of my bean getting in a huff with my mood ? has helped me snap out of it somewhat ? so thanks for that

3cats - Fingers crossed that your next thyroid tests show nothing. In the mean time, stick some salt in your lentils
Sorry for all the messing about with the consultant appointment dates. It?s a shame they can?t do the semen analysis sooner. It got me wondering how many people out there are having fertility investigations ? scary thought!
OMG smash plates ? poor you! You must have been really angry! Doesn?t sound like the PTA is something to be looking forward to! Sorry to hear that there is friction in your house too. Hug.

Cityangel - Well done on your internet discovery! PMSL at your DH standing in the lobby and you typing on MN. Chuckle! Hope you are having a fabulous time chick!! We are both at the same time with ttc, so we are bound to be feeling similar emotions! It is lovely to have people that understand isn?t it! And I know what you mean about the doctor just reading from a tired script! It?s so frustrating when you see these people fall at the drop of a hat (or the drop of their knickers !) ? but I guess there is no point in being angry about others, it won?t make us fall quicker. Easy said though! If I lived closer, I would definitely take you up on that cocktail invitation!!

So? if you have looked at my chart today ? you will see a big dip in temp. I left the window open last night, and wonder if that had anything to do with it?? Probably just clutching at straws!
So much for carrying on with the sex post ovulation ? that was the plan - but it hasn?t quite materialised. In our defence (hahaha!) we have been really busy, decorating is exhausting work! Do you think that could be why we haven?t conceived in these 8 cycles?

3catstoo · 26/04/2007 09:42

Hi Guys.

Sorry to hear you and your Dh are not seeing eye to eye, Mrsmc. Football matches have alot to answer for in this house too. More often than not, DHs team lose!

Fingers crossed for you tonight. Can you do anything to calm the air?

I need to 'be nice' tonight as I am still aiming for every other day

We had a bad night last night too. My fault this time. PTA fallings out and basically playground behaviour from grown women. I can't put up with that. I have too short a temper to sit and take it.
So after giving the PTA a piece of my mind I was sao worked up when DH got home, I was not in the mood to clear up the kitchen (I may have smashed plates!)so DH did it whilst moaning about what I had done all day.

Good to hear from you City. The waiting is so hard isn't it. Your timings are similar to mine. Saw GP in Jan. Saw fertility clinic apr. Tests Apr-May. 2nd appt Aug. Sperm test sometime around Sept.

Hope your stay in Atlanta is fab.

cityangel · 26/04/2007 04:02

Hi everyone

Have discovered internet in Atlanta (obviously not the first person to do this)!

Just wanted to say thanks for your wonderful messages. The support means a lot to me. After over a day on two planes I had a lot to think about. I plan to chill out and don't mind temporarily giving up temping but the CBFM really is useful

You're right though Ready lying would be counter productive

Ready, really hoping you're feeling better than your post sounded. If it helps I felt exactly the same last month. Come to London for a moan and a cocktail

Having the fertility expert telling us to be patient, it takes ages... really doesn't help as I can name several people our age who have fallen quickly. He seemed to be reading from a tired script

Our next official consultant appointment is August. So to anyone out there considering investigation you need to consider the timelines and factor in waiting. Went to the Doc Feb. First appointment April. Tests April - June Second Appointment August. It will be a 4 month waiting period between doc trip and first sperm test.

MrsMC sorry to hear about your row. Dh and I have been under work stress too. Sometimes when you know someone too well its all to easy to push all the wrong buttons in a silly row.

3catsoo it sounds tough trying to interpret the tests. We're following suit and I agree the waiting time is tough, particularly when it interfers with the whole process.

Right I'm off dh is standing in the hotel lobby suggesting I chat to MN tomorrow... he may have a point as we have been up hours and big jet lag is kicking in.

Really hope you all have a great weekend.

Cityangel in Atlanta

MrsMcJnr · 25/04/2007 21:48

I'm here 3cats

The news from the GP about your thyroid sounds better than you feared good about the other results too and the timing of the HSG. Shame about the semen analysis, is DH taking vits etc already? might be an idea if you can persuade him.

My DH is in a stinking mood no BD last night and can't see him agreeing tonight as he's hardly said a word to me and I got a +ive OPK today so timing is crucial. He seems to have forgotten all his guilt about not trying hard enough before. I really am very angry with him tonight he is SO selfish (all this stems from his football team playing badly last night - pathetic if you ask me!)

3catstoo · 25/04/2007 13:21

Hi everyone,

I can't keep track of who's on here and who's not. Has everyone deserted this thread?

My GP told me that I have compensating hypothyroid. It means it's just the start, so I shouldn't be showing any symptoms. He is going to retest in 2 months to see if it has increased again. At the moment it should not be effecting my fertility.
The LH, FSH and prolactin were normal.

So still no clearer.

I got my appt for the HSG (xray and dye)for late May(AF should have finished but I won't have Ov'd either so great timing. It means we do not have to abstain!). DH has to wait until September for the semen analysis though. The consultant wants to delay my next appt with her until after DHs test . I've just brought it forward based on my HSG date, now she wants to change it again.

I must go and chart spot, if I can figure out who's still here.

MrsMcJnr · 24/04/2007 16:17

Hi 3cats ? sorry to hear about your thyroid I think over and underactive can be an issue for fertility but sometimes have no impact. Hopefully you can get medicated and start to feel much better (and fall pregnant!) very soon. Hope the GP appointment goes well today.

Cityangel ? hope you have a great trip! If you find out any American baby making secrets, be sure to pass them on! Fingers crossed that it?ll be a virgin cocktail you sip on that beach!

Ready ? hon, it?s just a numbers game, there?s nothing wrong with you. Please try not to stress about the thyroid thing. I have had a look at your chart and it looks perfect you have a range from 36.1 to 36.7 and all the rises and dips are where they should be. Have a look at my charts (not the latest 2 but the ones before) nothing wrong with my thyroid and look at my low temps! 3Cats temps will be higher not lower (if different) lower temps suggest under active not over active. Couldn?t find the bit in my book last night but I?ll look again for you tonight. Hope you feel much better soon hon, you never know, this could be your lucky cycle and here you are all down! The bean could get in a huff!

Mum03 ? hello pretty chart when is AF/testing due?

Sunshinedays ? how are you getting on? Cd9?

Wow Rah ? what a steady temp you have!

Rattling ? how are you? Coming up to OV?

Cedar ? where are you hon? Missed you! You are in the home strait now!

Fingers crossed Iwillbe!

mum03 · 24/04/2007 12:16

Ready - that you are , I came to get some of your positivity today, but I see you need some instead. here have a whole bunch of it +++++++++++++ Wish I had a bunch of flowers smilie - would send that too you. The end of the 2ww is the worst ever.

3cats - it is good to have an answer, it should mean that the docs can help. I hope the doc is really helpful for you this afternoon.

Cityangel - hope you manage to have some fun and distraction while you are away to help resist the temptation to focus on ttc, it is not easy.
