Thank you ladies! We’re over the moon! And just lucky again that it worked from the first attempt (I’m 42 now!)! I didn’t really respond to Clomid this time, and on CD10 I had 4 follicles but only around 11ml. And that after taking Clomid for 5 days. Very disappointing. So she told me to inject Gonal for 2 days, then had my scan and the dominant one grew to 15ml (cd12). Had one more Gonal injection, then Ovitrelle on cd13. And on CD15, had IUI. I then had 2 dominant follicles which grew to 21ml! Minutes before the procedure she “warned” about potential twins! Haha and how we laughed! I squeezed 2 sessions of acupuncture before IUI. And we also DTD prior IUI. On the day of IUI, we were told that DH’s deposit wasn’t enough! So thankfully we had his frosted stuff from before! It took an hour to defrost it then they mixed them both and got 90% motility. After IUI the doctor was holding my hand, reassuring me. I was lying on my back for half an hour, then on the drip for 20 minutes. Then was given tons of supplements including progesterone. IUI was €250! Then I had to pay for supplements, Gonal And Ovitrelle and scans. The whole lot was around €700. The most caring nurses and doctors and everyone else working there! Literally like a family to us! My early scan is booked in 3 weeks. Just hope it goes well till then and beyond! Thank you for all your messages!

Wow congrats Russ! You must be over the moon!!

Sounds like everyone else is a bit low... like me. Misery loves company??

I'm convinced my thyroid is why I haven't had any pregnancies/ chemicals since last March. So I guess that means I'm convinced it's the cause of my infertility... so I'm putting on my big girl pants and heading to the gp in two weeks to show them the scientific (and my anecdotal) evidence and get bloods done. It's pointless doing ivf when I know it won't work because of this...

Footy1 · 18/05/2018 07:28

Hey Mimi .. I'm good, just plodding on with life. No change here, no period since Nov! Sad

Footy1 · 18/05/2018 07:27

Congratulations 🥂⭐️Russ! Fantastic news. Glad iui worked well for you, was it expensive? You must be very pleased 😁

Mimilicious013 · 18/05/2018 06:55

congratulations @russkipy, wow that is so exciting! !

waves @tee @physicskate @footy1 and everyone else.

nothing to report. still down in the dumps lol

Tee4me · 17/05/2018 22:06

So IUI worked for you both times right?! How many attempts did you have in total?

Took the test on Monday, 11dpiui and got BFP! We cried ! Total shock and disbelief! My doctor told me to do beta tests on 12dpiui and 14dpiui which I’ve now finished today. And beta numbers are more than doubled from 12dpiui. Early scan is booked for next month as per my doctor’s instructions. I still can’t believe!

And I was offered a job yesterday! It's part-time, low pay and dead end. Perfect for now!!!! (But shit for long term...) not sure how it will look on the cv!! I really think it's going to be quite nice! They asked why I was interested in a job so far below my experience and qualifications and I nearly cried thinking about all that's happened!! They seemed sympathetic and the fire and mudslide, and now potentially being a bit of a career/ helper for bil.

Tee4me · 13/05/2018 22:33

WTF? Cyberbullying? By grown women on Mumsnet? How bizarre, sorry you've had to deal with that on top of everything else 😡

You are getting so close now! Sorry to hear about the family though. God you've got so much on your plate. I hope you are managing to take time out and chill.

Nothing to report here 👎🏻

Hi @tee4me! At least three weeks away from starting stims. I'm on short protocol which starts cd2. Glad we decided to wait a cycle, as my BIL was diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer and my aunt is in ICU... so we're obviously a bit distracted...

Starting to feel the effects of thyroxine (even my pitifully low dose). Thinking of taking my own advice and going to the gp to monitor thyroid... even though (in my case) that's probably overkill...

How are you?? I do think about you all often...

Had a serious incident of cyberbullying on mumsnet so I don't post much anymore - but I'm still around. Like I don't have enough going on now to be hounded by anti-infertiles? But anyway...

Tee4me · 13/05/2018 21:14

@physicskate, just wondering how things are panning out with IVF? xx

OP posts:
Tee4me · 26/04/2018 23:28

Hey girls!
@physicskate you're SO close now, what's another month to get everything totally in line?! This could nearly be it for you! 🤞🏻
@Footy1 yes that's a funny old job!! 😆 I started drinking Shakeology for breakfast in Feb (anyone who knows about the beachbody brand should have heard about this), it's a nutritionally dense meal replacement shake. I'm convinced it helped me fall in February/March cycle. I also started on Iodine drops, so possibly another contributor!

I'm not sure if I ovulated this cycle as my opk was never a convincing positive. It got pretty dark last Friday, but I don't think quite as dark as the control line, then they faded off over the following days. Could have been a quick surge and I just missed the peak, or my ovary failed to release the egg 🤷🏼‍♀️
AF due next weekend, so hopefully things will get back on track. Might look at IVF in the Summer x

Hope you had a good birthday Russ and your little one is gorgeous and growing up fast Smile

Hey Kate, sounds an awful lot of tests but good that you are getting it all done in one go. Think wise to wait a month if you have all that going on.. like u say.. what's another month. Least u can plan.. eat well etc..
Met this lady from my church and she's use to work in a fertility clinic in NZ. She studied cells and mucus! (What a job eh)
Anyways.. she was telling me how cells can react when under stress, infections, autoimmune and thyroid probs. You can repair cells yourselves by eating the right vitamins. From what I can remember from our chat zinc, magnesium, potassium all scream out. How what u eat and how you feel all change your cells and mucus. Got me on Google.. quite interesting stuff. Keep going kate x

Hey everyone else, hope all ok with you.
How you doing tee? Cycle back to normal?

physicskate · 25/04/2018 20:06

Hi anyone left!!

Had the most busy day today. Had my ivf consent appointment and they said we could crack on when af arrives (short protocol). But looking at a calendar, that might not work cause it's due Friday (fingers and toes crossed it's early or late) and next weekend is a bank holiday and they don't scan at weekends!!! So we might have to wait a cycle (I've waited so many, what's one more?).

The other reason to delay is because I got them to test my tsh and it was 3.8, so now taking levothyroxine and want it to get below 2!! They made a big song and dance that it's fine but they're only treating because of ttc... they won't retest... it's fine... etc... so still very little support with thyroid.

Then we were sent for bloods for all the diseases ever. Bit worried as I've had hepatitis vaccines, so not sure if that will make something flag up...

So more tests and things done today than in the past two years!!

But enough about me...

Love you guys. Miss you...

physicskate · 18/04/2018 21:30

Had a positive opk today at cd 13. Earliest I've ever had a positive. Looks to me like a week won't be time to get blood results and then start ivf cycle a week after my consent appointment Hmm

Russkispy · 18/04/2018 20:55

celebrated my 42nd birthday yesterday and AF is heading my way. More likely tomorrow as spotting today. Heading home for IUI end of next week. Got my Clomid and supporting meds to take prior the procedure and then we’re good to go 😉😉
How’s everyone else doing?

Mimilicious013 · 18/04/2018 09:41

and everyone else gets upduffed í½í¸í½í¸

physicskate · 14/04/2018 20:38

Tee I'm passing your message on. I'm thinking about what could go right, but not much. It feels a bit out of my control so, for the moment I am a bit detached...

Tee4me · 14/04/2018 20:16

@Russkispy your LO is gorgeous!!!
@Mimilicious013 I'm good thank you. Bleeding finally wrapping up and I'm opk'ing already! Got my first BFN yesterday, so weird to be pleased to see a BFN 🤯 Sorry AF got you 👎🏻 xx

af got me again
how are you tee?

physicskate · 12/04/2018 09:41

We have our consent appointment 26th of April. Not sure if we will start with next af towards the beginning of may (no idea what cycle will do post clomid). If we miss that one it should be mid June? Two weeks of injections, then collection and then hopefully transfer. I could be pregnant by June or July. But probably won't be... trying to keep expectations low!!!
