Was thinking of you today Tee. Hope it goes well!!!

I'm ok. Some short-lived cramps happening, but think I'm ok? My scan isn't until the 16th, which feels an age away! But I start my job on Thursday, so I'm looking forward to the slight distraction eve though I'm exhausted!! Not sleeping well with this heat!!!

Tee4me · 03/07/2018 09:45

@Russkispy & @physicskate how are you both getting on? I'm currently waiting for my rescan and praying they will see some growth since Thursday x

Tee4me · 29/06/2018 20:28

@Russkispy I'm not sure you have a heavy bleed after a D&C, I presumed removing the lining is part of the procedure? Mine have all been natural so I have no experience of this, what did they tell you to expect?
Thinking of you x

Thank you, lovelies, for all your unconditional support! Really appreciate, makes me feel I’m not all alone in this! Landed on the sofa and just chilling. No pain or discomfort. No cramps. And little bleed, like a very light period. Unless it hits me all later!? Hope not!
@Kate and @Tee, I’m so so happy for you both! I really really hope it’s a sticky bean for you both!

physicskate · 29/06/2018 19:33

@Russkispy I am so so sorry you had to go through that. I do find some healthcare professionals are a bit shit with this, maybe because they see it every day and it is the worst day of your life. I had a small taste when the gp told me to have more miscarriages if I wanted tests in March '17... I cant even begin to understand how upsetting it would be to be fobbed around on this day of all days...

Tee4me · 29/06/2018 17:18

Oh @Russkispy that's awful, talk about insult to injury. Well done for sticking up for yourself. I would find it hard to find my voice in that situation, so you did well. You shouldn't have had to fight like that though. Thank God it's done and I hope you can put this horrendous episode behind you very soon.

@physicskate wow we are only 3 days apart. Who'd have thought after over 2.5 years on this thread with knock back after knock back we would eventually conceive within 3 days of each other. Double miracle x

Hello ladies,
I’m back home after the D&C this morning.
I seem to be ok, no heavy bleeding or discharge. Maybe will hit me later?!
If I tell you how the morning went in the EPU, don’t think you’ll believe me! Hopefully nothing like that happened to you if/when you had your D&C!
We came in just before 8am, got prepped and sat in the cubicle in my gown, waiting to be taken to the theater. I had all tests and swabs done, signed all the forms, the anaesthetist came in, briefed me etc. and I was told we would go for the op shortly. And only then around 10am, the registrar came in, with my notes, asked about my scan from Monday. Off she went and came back and said: I’m really sorry but we can’t D&C on you today! The consultant who scanned you on Monday should have never scheduled your op today! Looking at your scan, your fetal pole is not even 7mm long, and under the National guidelines, we can’t op on you! She said, we schedule another scan in a week! And only then perform D&C if non viable pregnancy. WTF, I was screaming like mad!! As if my embryo would fucking spring back to life from the dead! When it stopped at 6 weeks on the 8th June! and I was supposed to be 9 weeks today!! Are you fecking kidding me! How 2 consultants on Monday never told me about those fecking guidelines! It was only measured 5.6! Told her he squeezed us in for today especially as we’re flying away on Sunday. And if they didn’t op today and something happened while away, that would have been their responsibility! Ladies, I lost my cool at that point, and my DH too! She then went to see her boss who happened to be in today, lucky me! came back and said he ok-eyed it! By then I was in bits! Stress level through the roof and then she took me to the theatre! But then my hospital number didn’t much the paper work! What a shambles! I tried to stay calm! Suffice to say, it was all done and I’m home now. I’ll be writing a complain and go public with it! How can they let this happen! As if I wasn’t going through enough traumatic times! incompetence of the senior consultant was absolutely bang out of order and very upsetting to us! Especially to me as you can well imagine!

physicskate · 29/06/2018 13:44

Today is four weeks.

Thanks tee - your advice (well everyone's advice) is invaluable and I am so glad to have such a clued up group of people to help!

Tee4me · 29/06/2018 13:38

Yep I would do @physicskate. I got some advice from a friend yesterday who said Thyroxine often needs to increase in pregnancy, and you want to keep TSH below 2.5. Great that you were at a good level before though, but I think with a history of Hypothyroidism you should be monitored to cross check that you don't fall out of range 👍🏻 I wish I'd rechecked mine sooner.
You get a 'bookings' appointment in the first trimester, and midwife stuff stakes off from there. Perhaps book a GP app to discuss your IVF outcome and Thyroid maybe?? When will you be technically 4 weeks? x

OP posts:
physicskate · 29/06/2018 13:22

They aren't monitoring thyroid. TSH was 2.2 just before my round started with my tiny dose of thyroxine... hmm maybe I should make a GP appointment to get bloods. Or I should have asked today at the infertility clinic!!!

This is probably me getting WAY ahead of myself - when does midwife stuff start?

Tee4me · 29/06/2018 11:21

PS. Are they monitoring your Thyroid? Mine has spiked to 6.23 when they tested on Monday, so naturally I'm freaking out! Have up'd Thyroxine to 100mcg. I know mild Hypothyroidism doubles chance of miscarriage 😫

Scan not scab!!!

physicskate · 29/06/2018 10:43

Beta hcg is positive!! Long way to go, I know!! I kinda knew, but also trying not to get excited as we all know what can and does happen... scab in two weeks is the next hurdle to get to.

Tee I am so pleased for you too!!

I just feel bad that it isn't mimi and Russ too!!!

Tee4me · 28/06/2018 14:33

Thank you! HCG is 865 which I'm reassured is normal, they will scan me again on Tuesday in the hope of seeing something more substantial by then 🙏🏻

Mimilicious013 · 28/06/2018 13:37

WOW @tee4me,how exciting.all prayers are with you dear.this is it!!!!!!

Tee4me · 28/06/2018 13:24

Oh @Mimilicious013 sorry AF got you, it doesn't get any easier does it?

They actually scanned me despite my dates only putting me at 4+2. I was relieved that she could see a tiny dot/potential gestational sac which the Consultant felt was classic at this stage of pregnancy, so a relief there is 'something' in the right place. Waiting for them to call me with hcg results (so nervous!)

👋@radders.hope your son is doing well and best of luck on this journey again.

@tee how did your appointment go hun?

@kate l echo what tee said, keep the faith.l honestly can’t wait for your scan pictures.

Sadly for me af got me after being 3weeks late, marking my ttc journey at exactly 3 years with nothing to show.

Mimilicious013 · 28/06/2018 12:52

Congratulations @tee4me and @physicskate 🍾🎈🎈yaaay ladies.this news was long overdue.wishing you both healthy happy and sticky beans 🤞🤞.

Mimilicious013 · 28/06/2018 12:48

I am so sorry for what you are going through @russkipy.it is such a heartbreaking experience.how are you today?hope you get your d&c done by tomorrow and you take a break on your holiday.take good care of yourself 🌺

physicskate · 28/06/2018 09:04

It's probably the same or half a tinge darker... I was pretty dehydrated this morning through after an evening on non-alcoholic beer and rose lemonade... had the quite the hangover for all that (non) alcohol!

Tee4me · 28/06/2018 08:49

Is it the same or lighter? Levels of hcg are so low in these early stages, the difference of a more diluted urine could account for lack of progression. Keep the faith and you will know more after tomorrow's test.

OP posts:
physicskate · 28/06/2018 08:25

The line at 8dp5dt isn't any darker than 6dp5dt when the hcg should have doubled... not expecting a good outcome... again.

Tee4me · 27/06/2018 17:31

Thanks @radderss! I've been asked to go into the EPU tomorrow to see if they can draw any early conclusions as to whether this is likely to be a successful one. Doubt they'll see much on the scan (hopefully that it's in the right place?!) but I think they'll also take HCG. Nerve wracking!!

Praying for sticky beans for you. Keep us posted xxxx
