Here cheering you on lovelies. No news from me, still waiting to arrange drug delivery. I feel like all I ever post is that I’m waiting for stuff! New levels of patience...

Hi tee, they didn't really say what size - she said they couldn't really say much and to speak to gp. The nurse just said there were lots of tiny follicles on my left. I just don't understand why they are not getting bigger to make me ovulate.?
Gp before wouldn't prescribe anything only when she sent me to gynae to check all was ok he put me on clomid. I only had a few good cycles on clomid. Been off of it for about 6 months now. I'll ask my gp again for something else to make me ovulate?
Yes day 60 with no ovulation. It sucks!

Sounds all very expensive for you. My Dh wouldn't even contemplate paying for tests. 🙄

Tee4me · 24/10/2017 09:01

Footy when you say small, what size were they? When I went for my scan before ovulation he said I only had 1 dominant follicle at 22mm. The 1 on the other side was only 10mm and he said that wouldn’t produce anything. So are you CD60 but haven’t ovulated yet? Bless you, such a long wait?! Surely you need something to help the eggs mature then do a trigger shot? Are you not on Clomid anymore? I don’t understand why you’re not getting more help from your Specialist/GP 😞 Why don’t you push to try Letrozole? When I’ve been researching it I came across lots of success stories from women switching over to it.
I’m currently CD5. Have a follicle scan next Monday and hope to see multiple mature follicles this time having doubled my dose of Letrozole 🤞🏻
Yes still doing acupuncture too. All this has cost us a small fortune, really hoping for a positive result soon. I think next steps will be IUI early next year, then onto IVF if nothing for a further 6 months x

Wasjust thinking I bet the mares don't have all this fertility worry like we do!
Hope you are doing ok Durez.xx

I just need something to push out the eggs!! So frustrating I just keep crying for a period. Sad isn't it.

Kate, glad you are getting tracked with US's at least you gave a clearer pic of what is what.

Jam, I struggle with mooncup at first and keep spilling it when I comes out. Hope you still are playing your music 🎶 for distraction with your plans. X

Tee super ovulation plan sounds good. Are u still on acupuncture?

Footy1 · 23/10/2017 15:00

Hi all,
My ultrasound scan results showed no abnormalities and ovaries looked fine. Lots of small follies on left ovary (which I was quite surprised as I only usually feel it from right side?? So back to the gp I go! No period day 60 grrr. They will probably do another blood test for hormone levels?

DuRezidal · 21/10/2017 18:30

With mares just before they ovulate the follicle goes soft and slightly mishapen so look out for that too!

And mares tend to go off a similar size follicle each time...

physicskate · 21/10/2017 18:27

Hi Durez - are you asking abut my ultrasound? They wouldn't tell me how big it was Wednesday, just that 'it's grown' from 13mm on Monday.... ov suspected Thursday/ during the early morning Friday. Wednesday's sonographer said she wouldn't tell me because I would start googling. She was right, except I already had been googling...

DuRezidal · 21/10/2017 18:09

I don’t know anything about human ivf but very clued up on equestrian :-)

Did they tell you how big the follicles were both sides before you ovulated?

physicskate · 20/10/2017 08:56

Definitely trying to distract yourself is a good idea. You need to be in the best head space possible for this part of you ‘journey’.

Last US today and follicle is gone. So looks like ov was yesterday. Dtd last night and two night before. Blood test next week to confirm. So clomid will definitely shorten my cycle. Seems sonographer was convinced I have pcos by appearance and how clomid shortened my cycle. Time will tell. Not holding my breath...

Jamon · 19/10/2017 16:35

Sorry tee bfns never stop hurting do they? Super ovulation plan sounds fab though

AF came yesterday so a bit early. Got my new mooncup - they are a bit of a struggle to get in?! I called the nurses, they call back within a week to go through timeline and order drugs etc. Think I speak to the drug company after that to arrange delivery.

To be honest I'm going to try and think about other stuff for the next few weeks. We can't try this month so I'm going to try and enjoy a break from ttc and not think about it all too much. Relax and look after myself! Then get myself ready for down regulating on day 21. Just ready to get this show on the road really!

Tee4me · 19/10/2017 09:10

For God’s sake why wouldn’t she tell you how big?? It’s ridiculous!!
I’m patiently (not) waiting AFs arrival today or tomorrow. Got a BFN at the weekend so stopped the steroids. Will go back on Letrozole CD2-6 then hoping to have a follicle scan around CD9-11 but my specialist is currently booked up so I’m worried I won’t be able to follow the full ‘Super Ovulation’ plan this month (scan plus hcg injection element).
Jam did AF arrive? Do you have your drugs ready to kick things off next month?! x

OP posts:
physicskate · 18/10/2017 19:22

So at scan today I was told again it’s ‘tiny’ and within the endometrium bit that most women over 30 get them and that it won’t pose problems for me.

Follicle has ‘grown’ but she wouldn’t tell me how big. Negative opk, so I’m thinking I’m still an age away... but it is only cd 14!! I normally ov more like cd 18 or well beyond.

Jamon · 16/10/2017 21:44

Kate can you get another opinion on the fibroid? Seems a bit ridiculous to ask you what you think about it. Fibroids can be overcome lovely and might make no difference xx

physicskate · 16/10/2017 19:51

So I had my first tracking scan and feeling pretty shit. I’ve got a dominant follicle (13 mm) on my right ovary (even though ov pains other cycles are always on my left). The reason I feel shit is because the sonography said, ‘so what do you know about this fibroid?’ And I was like, ummmm. And then she said, ‘oh don’t worry I’m sure it won’t affect things!’. So now I’m pissed off there’s another potential issue and I’m just an infertile cow. Put me out to pasture. And yes, I’m fully aware I’m catastrophising!

Another scan Wednesday. It feels a bit hopeless today. My heads up my arse and people are chasing me for deadlines.

peachesarenom · 15/10/2017 11:33

Yes, I've heard from my GP that it is all about insulin. I need to loose a bit more weight. I think pre inofolic/metformin when I ate I still felt hungry and also through out the day I'd have 'sugar?crashes' and feel really panicked about finding something to eat. I hope it helps me lose weight too.

physicskate · 15/10/2017 09:45

It’s either the inofolic or clomid. I’m not more hungry. I reckon it’s just improving my silly metabolism and maybe getting rid of excess insulin in my blood stream? I’ve been reading that women with pcos have higher rates of type 2 diabetes and heart disease, might be linked to insulin? I’m no expert but I’m finding it’s getting pretty easy for me to latch on to one small idea if it gives me hope...

peachesarenom · 15/10/2017 09:32

That is exciting! What about the inofolic do you think has helped with the weight? Do you just feel less hungry?

physicskate · 15/10/2017 09:21

Not taking metformin, just inofolic. I sometimes take one sachet a day and it seems to help. I think my body’s getting used to it. I’ve lost a bit of weight with is too so im now comfortably in ‘normal’.

I think letrozole is just a different drug. Maybe newer? I wonder if it has many of the same long term effects of clomid like thin lining? Need to look into the pros and cons I think.

Off for ultrasound tomorrow! A bit nervous as to what they’ll see. I’ve been having a small amount of ov type cramping so I’m wondering if a cyst has burst. And only ever on the left so it’ll be interesting to discuss that with the sonography! But I’m glad I get to see the progress over a few days too.

peachesarenom · 14/10/2017 23:19

Hi all,

I've been to the GP, they're doing blood tests, booking ultrasound in order to refer me to fertility specialists. I think it's quite reassuring like something is happening at least. Then I think they do whatever a 'lap and dye' is!!! I think you all are a few steps ahead of me!

What's the difference between clomid and letrozole? I literally know nothing!

physicskate how are you finding the metformin and inofolic? I've been on inofolic for almost two weeks now and I think it's grim!

Tee4me · 14/10/2017 22:07

Sorry Peaches 😔** x

Footy AF got me!

Tee4me · 13/10/2017 16:40

Afternoon girls!
Footy so glad you've had the scan. Silly they can't say anything there and then, but it was a similar story with mine last year, she basically said couldn't see anything obvious and full report would be sent to GP. It didn't uncover anything. Did you pursue the idea of trying Letrozole?
Kate so glad you've had a boost trying something new! I feel the same, feels like you have a bit of control back. This could be all you needed. I ovulated early on Letrozole and all my opks were positive because of the Ovitrelle jab which contains hcg. Didn't consider that the Letrozole could have made them positive too though 🤔
Jam it's so exciting that you are nearly there with IVF, but can understand the pressure it's put on your relationship. DH is nowhere near accepting that we might need to go down that route. Did you ever check your TSH level?
I went back to GP today to get represcription for Thyroxine. I asked if I could go back on the list for referral now it's been a year since last bfp and nearly x2 ttc overall. She agreed so I should get a appointment for that in next couple of weeks. Still paying to see the miscarriage Specialist privately, but it's costing a small fortune. I'm hoping the NHS Specialist might be able to relieve me of paying privately for at least some of the treatment. In a perfect world I would fall before I see them, but mustn't hold my breath on that.
9dpo today and have to test on Sunday to determine whether to continue steroids (if bfp) or abandon until next cycle. Starting to feel crampy as per, so it's not looking promising x

Footy1 · 13/10/2017 11:13

Scan was ok- thought I was going to pee my pants as had to drink a lot of water! I did quiz the nurse. She said she couldn't see anything to worry about, and said I had lots of follicles tiny ones on my right ovary.
She also did internal one. Confident that she had a good look around as she said she could see my c section scar inside. She said she can't really say much..
Results in 5 days. Another waiting game 😩

Kate I ovulated early on clomid a couple of times but also made it later another few times. It made me have hot flashes and night sweats. What mg you on? It did make the opks all nearly positive so hard to predict.

Jam I totally get that, ivf can cause so much emotional energy. Fingers crossed for this cycle though x

Jamon · 13/10/2017 09:37

Hope you’re doing okay tee xxx

Jamon · 13/10/2017 09:37

Fx for your results footy

Kate your DH sounds amazing. Glad all going well on clomid. It made me ovulate a day or two early

Same old here I’m afraid. I’m Day 23? Had to look that up. About 7-8 DPO. Got my instructions to call nurses on day 1 to get my drugs delivered - then still a long wait to day 21 to actually start.

Things been very strained with DH. The situation is like a pressure cooker. IVF is a massive emotional physical mental investment with absolutely no guarantees. Think he’s struggling to accept we’ve come to this whereas I’m ready to get started.
