MrsMcEasterBunny · 28/03/2007 15:11

Hello we did a thread a bit like this last year and it worked well so I thought I'd try it again.

I have a wedding to go to in 7 weeks and I'd like to lose 10 pounds. I'm going to follow a low fat diet and do more exercise.

I'll post my losses (and any gains) on a Weds morning.

Come and help me!

I was the christmas thread and I really need a good kick up the bum. I am afraid I have only lost about 3 1/2 lbs since chistmas. Havent weighed my self for a while I think I am about 11st 5 and I am 57.
I like running but like my food more cakes and pudding are my weakness.
Af just arrived so all bloated at the moment so will join you all on monday when I have finished the nice cheese in the fridge. My mums just been to france so I couldnt really say no, I will have to join you at cheeseaholics ready
Hello Roskva I think you deserve the gold star out of us christmas lot 1/2 stone well done.

Just in from a night out with a girlfriend and a girl not-friend and had a really great night. After 3 bottles of wine between us the not-friend is now new-best-friend. Real Sex and the City night but, reality hits, all the joie de vivre meant I could eat tiramisu without it mattering. In the same way eating standing up, eating really quickly etc. doesn't count. So, Ready, a good slap across both cheeks should do it.
Maybe a good long run in the morning will undo it all. Anyone else?
By the way, I have never had the willpower for exercise videos, exercise bikes, classes or any of that stuff.
MrsMc, how far are you planning to go and are you doing it alone? If you're not a runner, I would seriously recommend mixing running and walking, even a minute of each for ten minutes and work up from there. It's bearable but does count as hard-core exercise.

theheadgirl · 30/03/2007 23:18

Hi everyone, a poor first day for me, I blame my sister who encouraged the toasted cheese sandwich in M and S cafe....
But still, tomorrow is another day, I am planning to do an exercise DVD, avoid eating crap, and try to get 5 fruit and veg eaten. Will post to tell you of my success I hope!

linjasmom · 30/03/2007 22:28

Eggs4Easter Thank you! Really sounds great, even ice-cream is allowed !!
That is something I could do after Easter, want to do something before I go on vacation for a week at the end of April. That does sound manageable. I did some remedial feasting for detoxing and it worked great, but I don't know if I am up to not eating at all again so soon (maybe in May?) Sounds drastic, I know , but I felt SOOOOO good (still do!). I will def let you know after I've tried it. Phew, I am really tired now, so I'll be off until tomorrow! Bye....

Eggs4EasterFertilizedPlz · 30/03/2007 21:57

oh im iwillbepgbydec2007 by the way

Eggs4EasterFertilizedPlz · 30/03/2007 21:57

hellloooo

first run on sunday mrsmc thats brave! i dont do running im afraid i looklike a right wolly - i do the whole arm swinging thing - NOT ATTRACTIVE!

READY - i didnt join ww online ijust called them to order the book. i am actually a good weight for my height but to me i am not so not being big headed i couldnt face joining weight watchers or going to meetings because i would feel a bit of a fraud. is that lilia dvd any good i really want to get that but i know it will only end up in my dvd cupboard after a few weeks.

linjasmum HIYA!!

here is the diet we did.

Day 1
breakfast - 1/2 grapefruit 1 slice toast 2 tsp peanut butter black coffee/tea

lunch - 4oz tuna, 1 slice toast, black coffee/tea

dinner - 2 slices cold meat, string beans, 4oz beatroot, 1 apple, 4oz ice cream

Day 2
breakfast - 1 egg, 1 slice toast, 1/2 banana, black coffee/tea

lunch - 4oz cottage cheese, 5 ritz crackers, black coffee/tea

dinner - 2 canned hotdogs, 4 oz brocolli, 2oz carrots, 1/2 banana 4oz ice cream

Day 3
breakfast- 5 ritz crackers, 1 slice cheese, 1 apple, black coffee/tea

lunch - 1 hard boiled egg, 1 slice toast, black coffee/tea

dinner - 4oz tuna, 4oz beetroot, 4oz cauliflower, 1 slice melon, 4 oz icecream black coffee/tea

i adapted a few of these for lunch i changed the tuna and egg on toast for an egg/tuna mayo sandwich with one slice of bread but thats pretty much it what we did for 3 days. it does work and i have managed to keep the weight off.

let me know what you think

linjasmom · 30/03/2007 21:00

MrsMc Thank you!! Am looking forward to these next weeks!
Iwillbe Can you tell me some more about that 3 day diet or rather the food that burns fat? Might not be a bad thing to do in between if you can give me instructions. And maybe you have some ww-secrets to share? I get some from a friend who goes to the meetings every now and then (can't think of any atm of course ), so maybe we can post them?

Hey y'all (here comes the Texan): Maybe someone is interested in sharing some good-and-fast-and-healthy-and-low-in-points-recipes here? If not, that's oK, we could always do it on another thread.

Here are my weaknesses:
chocolate (ooooooh), Haribo (a certain type that doesn't even taste SUPER, but once you start you can't stop) and ice-cream. Haven't had any of those for the past five weeks, though. But on Easter sunday.....
Less of: the above even after lent
More: exercise!!
That's what I will try to do now.
My sin today: a self-baked apple-bun (yum!)

mumto3girls · 30/03/2007 20:13

Can anyone reommend a dvd fo me, one that I won't give up co 'm hopeless at following ste ruines/danc steps...?

ovenREADYhotcrossbuns · 30/03/2007 16:16

MrsMcEasterBunny - If you think that Davina's workout is not hard then you are not doing it properly The Power of 3 is the first DVD, and it is rock hard, I swear!! ... The first time I did it (a couple of years back) I couldn't even sit down without yelping in pain!! A friend laughed at me so much and so I lent her the DVD and she was so apologetic afterwards ! The newest one with the boxing, is not as hard, no. But I only do the boxing part, are the other 2 sections easier then?

I watch Sex and the City on ParamountTV in sky!! I miss it too. I so hope they are going to make the film!!

Well... the mini eggs were in DH's possession, and he let me have 5!! I blame him, cos I asked for 4! If the bag had been in my hand, I might not have been quite so restrained

MrsMcEasterBunny · 30/03/2007 16:00

Welcome Niceglasses, nice name!

Don?t worry linjasmom ? the first 10 pounds is only the start for me! I am the opposite of you, I too have a recognizable waist though not according to most of my waistbands I?m a size 14 above waist and a 12/14 below the waistline these days, I was always 12/14 on top and 10 on the bottom before! Your English is pretty damn perfect but we will help you! I was watching an episode a night of Sex in the City through from Vol 1 on my cross trainer but didn?t get very far . Think I?ll start it again, how I miss Carrie and the girls!

Iwillbe ? me too, hence the midweek choice! Well done, that diet sounds like a good kick start. Lots of exercise going on with you, I?m not sure what I?ll commit to yet, will work it out over the weekend. Going for my first run on Sunday!

Welcome Roskva ? you are doing so well! help to motivate us!

Eclipse! Sounds like you are getting down to it!

Yum03 ? house building?s pretty energetic!

Ovenready ? your penance for those mini eggs and ovaltine is to do 30 sit ups tomorrow! What I want to know is, were there only 5 in the packet? Did you show self restraint and leave some untouched? Did you share them with DH? Or are you lying to us?

Davina?s workout isn?t hard (well, the boxing one is ? is it the same trilogy?)

Forgive me brethren, I too have sinned: I had a pain au chocolate at the airport at 6am (very hungry had been up since 4.30) and a packet of Walkers salt & vinegar crisps at 10.30. No fruit so far today.

OP posts:
ovenREADYhotcrossbuns · 30/03/2007 15:30

Ok... yesterday's sin confession was 5 mini-eggs with an ovaltine at bed-time but I was good all day!

Re: Exercise, I have davina's workout dvd's (hard!) and the Lilia salsa dvd (which is fun, but hard work) - but I have been naughty and not done either for 2 weeks! But I have walked 3 times this week, so I think that counts!

Yum - My WW book says regular hot choc is 2 points, so not the worst treat you could have had.

Roskva You have done so well haven't you!! I really didn't do so good on our thread - I must be good, I must be good

Eclipse - I must be odd, cos youtr ryvita and houmous lunch sounded lovely

Iwillbe - Did you joing WW online?

Linjasmum - 7 weeks is the goal for 10 lbs, so don't be putting pressure on yourself to lose more than that in that time frame!! Steady weight loss is more likely to stay off

Coggy - Thanks for the info on the milk, I am just going to stick with what I know and include my skimmed milk as points.

How's everyone else doing?

Since this thread started another pound seems to have wedged its way on so I've been out and got a load of unappetising food from Tesco and no junk is passing my lips from now. Lunch of ryvita and humous and lots of fruit. Only a few more weeks of that and it's sorted. Easy peasy...?

Hello, I'm on Ready's (or should I say ovenreadyeasterbunny's) thread, can I join you? I've lost 1/2 this year so far, and have another 1/2 stone to go, and I'm 9 stone 12 at the moment.

iwillbepgbydec07 · 30/03/2007 09:05

hello girls!

im so glad we are doing our weigh ins on a wednesday because weekends are my downfall its kind of a free for all between me and dp and the fridge! so it gives me 2 days toloose the bulk of what i put on at the weekend.

me and dp did a 3 day diet last week, its what they give to the severely obese before operations in hospital and they lose about a stone because all of the ingredients burn fat or somthing along them lines.
anyway we did it i lost 5 pounds on it and dp lost 8 - thats in 3 days i was amazed!

have just ordered the new weight watchers starter pack though as my friend has joined and she says its excellent and so easy so im going to give that a go for this 7 weeks dieting fest!

what exercise is everyone doing? i will be doing walking 4 x week, swimming 2/3 x week and sit ups 3 x week - cant manage everyday as i get too sore!

linjasmom · 29/03/2007 23:01

P. S.: Can have 24 points a day , waiting for 22 .

OK, still have a recognizable waist and size 10/12 above waist, but size 16/18 below waistline.... so I know I will not be able to do this in 7 weeks, but maybe you can bear with me a little longer? Am 5' 9" by the way. I could also use some butt-kicking concerning my exercise. I am walking regularly, but I seem unable to mount my home-trainer (bike or cross-walker) atm. Can someone force me to do it for at least a little while each day? Sorry I am so late, had a busy day and evening. One (double) sin to confess. Had a (really, honestly) small serving of Tiramisu as it was for BIL's girlfriend's b-day.... Very yummy!

One other thing: if I post something here and my spelling/expression is incorrect, please tell me. I will not be offended but thankful as I am raising dd bilingually though my English is of course not perfect. THANKS!!!!

Ready - there is a core plan where skimmed milk is free......I do that as there is no point counting and I (until I went off track) found it really easy.
The confession I meant was our actual weight!
I don't feel so bad now as I did last year as I was somewhat heavier then!!!

theheadgirl · 29/03/2007 15:58

Ok, the facts are these - i'm short (5'2") I weigh 9st 8lb, but more worringly, my waist is 31 inches!!! The rest of me is a size 12.
I'm aiming for 8stone 8lb, and would be happy to lose anything off my waist. My weak area is comfort eating - I'm on my own with 3 gals, and like to pig out once they've gone to bed

MrsMcEasterBunny · 29/03/2007 15:33

Welcome Kitty and well done so far! Join the list! (I'm 5"6 too by the way)

OP posts:
KittyLetteMeEatAnEasterEgg · 29/03/2007 15:10

can i join please??????

im 5'6, 10 stone 10 lbs and need to loose 10lbs

ive already lost 2stone, but have hit a wall and havent lost for about 6 weeks now

just spent £150 on size 12 clothes arriving tomorrow so i need to loos it! pmsl

ovenREADYhotcrossbuns · 29/03/2007 15:00

Oh, ta. I think I will stick with what I know, cos it works, and I have skimmed milk every day for breakfast, so I get my calcium At the moment I allow myself 20 points, and as soon as I get under 10stone, it goes down to 18.
