Come one, come all, new and old, no-one wants to be here, but at least we're glad we've got each other :) Flowers

Hope your stay here is short.

Now, some BFPs if you please and BFNs for those who are waiting for them too!

oh lime how awful. I hope you have someone there with you.

5 weeks is very early and if you are even less than that there could still be hope.

Lime19 · 10/08/2017 15:28

So I had my scan. It's not great. It's being treated as a pregnancy of unknown location right now. No sac seen but I'm sure I'm less than 5 weeks. There are some other worrying things. Waiting to ask dr questions now.

gingerbreadmam · 10/08/2017 15:16

Thanks @sj. yes we all seem to bump into each other on these threads. At least we are in good company.

Are you returning to work following the birth of your stillborn?i hope it goes ok i remember how daunting it can seem.

we're not actively trying. i'm using ovia to avoid at the minute but obviously if something happens then great.

I wish my BMI was that. I try not to get too hung up on it see lots of people much bigger than me with newborns so it does happen but it's something that i point my finger at now and again.

How long have you been ttc for?

SJ88 · 10/08/2017 15:07

Welcome @gingerbreadmam I remember reading some of your posts after my daughter was still born. So sorry for all of your losses Flowers.
Sorry no advice on the vitamin side of things but the girls here are great and I'm sure someone will have some advice soon lol.
I too have a higher BMI than I would like (sitting around 26/27 at the minute) but haven't had much luck losing any weight recently Confused hoping when I go back to work later this month it will help me get back into a bit of a routine and I won't be picking all day long lol.
Are you starting ttc this month? X

gingerbreadmam · 10/08/2017 14:35

tentatively hopping on.

History :
1 x mmc 9 weeks 2014
1 x stillbirth 27 weeks ds had pffd in a severe form. no cause of death 2015
1 x mmc 14+2 triploidy 2017

It was only yesterday i looked into vitamin b12 and im now wondering whether to start that and vitamin b3 for next pregnancy?

i need to loose weight as high bmi but fell pregnant pretty much straight away with the above so i'm kind of preparing for a surprise as happened the last time.

Good luck to everyone on here, i know how draining the highs and lows can be.

SJ88 · 10/08/2017 14:32

Hi not been on in a while - can't believe so much has happened in the last few days. Congrats to everyone with bfps & @Smurf123 for positive scan. @emvy congrats with bfps, have you thought about maybe contacting epu too see what they say? I bled a little after dtd in my first trimester when I was pregnant and all turned out fine... well until my daughter passed during labour but that was totally unrelated.
Had a crappy couple of days here, headstone went up and although I was glad to see it go up it was almost a bit too final really :(
I'm not sure who said about seeing pregnant friends, I'm exactly the same - I am happy for them but also jealous and I think we have to be kind to ourselves and if that means distancing ourselves for a little while we'll then that's ok too.
7dpo here- been getting my usual PMT symptoms so not holding out much hope but @TheGrumpySquirrel I couldn't stop myself either and used a FRER this morning and it was stark white, I'm guessing I'm probably out this month too but secretly hoping it's just too early for bfp yet. I'm away this weekend with my parents so won't be any testing because we haven't told anyone we are trying so will have to wait til Monday when I'm due AF.... not easy when you have a serious poas addiction lol x

Ekphrasis · 10/08/2017 14:29

Double, AC does affect your cycle considerably, I know a woman who was bf and after 2.5 years still hadn't had a period so took it and got pregnant relatively quickly as it kick started everything. So it could be that? My cycle has changed a bit since being on ubiquinol and eve primrose.

Ekphrasis · 10/08/2017 14:26

And is it nicotinamide or naicin you'd take? I briefly looked on holland and Barrett and it's the former I saw first?

I do eat an awful lot of food that has it though, especially marmite!

Doublechocolatetiffin · 10/08/2017 14:24

Hey ladies, sorry I'm not here much. I'm trying not to think about it all too much as I've lost count of the number of people who've told me that it'll be when I stop stressing that I get pregnant!

I've been taking agnus castus and evening primrose oil since cd2 this month. I had a relatively light period (unusual for me) that only lasted 5 days, which is unheard of for me. I literally can't remember ever not having a 7 day period. I swear my boobs are a bit sore too. Is this normal when you start taking them? I'm only cd10 and low fertility according to the cb digi opk, my boobs don't usually get sore till ovulation (around cd18/19).

My heart keeps on going, maybe you're pregnant. My head says stop being such a silly cow, you've just had a period and a negative test. FFS. My brain is properly messed up this month. Someone talk some sense into me!

dudemeister76 · 10/08/2017 14:22

The researchers are supposed to be coming up with some sort of blood or urine test to do once you're pregnant to measure levels. Another stick to pee on......YAY!

Ekphrasis · 10/08/2017 14:07

Very interesting re b3. How much are they talking about though? Pregnacare has 125 of the RDA. I guess it's very hard to know if you're deficient or not.

BertieBotts · 10/08/2017 13:46

emvy you could alternate one a day until the folic acid run out?

Ana that is very interesting - someone mentioned it above. Perhaps I'll look out a vitamin which has B3 in it.

Anatidae · 10/08/2017 13:28

Ok well as your resident scientist can I show you this that everyone at work is talking about today? The press release looks like it was written by an enthusiastic four year old but the actual paper is fascinating.

www.victorchang.edu.au/pregnancy-breakthrough

It's basically implying that deficiency of niacin (a b vitamin) is a major cause of miscarriage and birth defects. This is really, really interesting stuff.

emvy · 10/08/2017 13:20

Thanks ladies. It's sinking in a bit more today. No more spotting so feeling thankful for that. Literally just no dtd until another mc or 12 week scan. My OH was surprisingly accepting of that - I think he's just as desperate as me for a baby now.

Forever, do not feel bad about the biscuits! You've now got me wanting some..! You're not out until you're out remember, I'm keeping everything crossed for you but if af does rear it's head, be kind to yourself.

Anne, I'm not one for understanding the charts but that's such a pain! You're not out for sure though as we all know how long sperm can stay alive for - you're in with a chance! My cycles were also slightly longer post 1st mc as well. Such a pain! Even longer to wait!

Grumpy, I'm not sure about the tests either I'm afraid but have an amazing holiday and hopefully you'll have a nice clear bfp on your return Smile

Yellow, I love how you edited your grammar error there 😂👏🏻

So as I'm throwing everything at this pregnancy... I've decided to take Pregnacare. I'm not one at all for these gimmicky vitamins with usually just taking folic acid and vitamin d, but I decided I wouldn't be doing any harm. What I did think though... I've still got some folic acid left, can I take one of those a day on top of pregnacare or is that overdoing it? I know you pee it out but if it's pointless...?

yellowfrontdoor · 10/08/2017 12:27

*they're not their!!!!

yellowfrontdoor · 10/08/2017 12:27

Grumpy enjoy your holiday & fingers crossed for you.

Thanks bertie! I think their just folic acid but I'll double check. So silly to mess it up. I'm really annoyed at myself.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 10/08/2017 12:18

Yeah I think they look like evap lines too. Ah well. Will enjoy the holiday either way and I'll know for sure by Monday

BertieBotts · 10/08/2017 12:13

xoxoxo you might want to start a new thread? I think they say to go back after 3 months without a period but I'm not sure.

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 10/08/2017 12:12

Yeah the chart is just messed up because I temped at the wrong times most likely. Haven't been able to monitor CM due to too much DTD Blush TMI but... yeah. I mean today is 6dpo according to FF and there is a potential implantation dip, but really, I can't get excited about it.

Grumpy sorry to be a downer but that looks exactly like the evaporation lines I get with ICs similar to those (Mine are purple, not blue). 8dpo is too early to be disappointed though! I hope you enjoy your holiday :)

xoxoxoxo · 10/08/2017 11:41

On 23rd of June I got a BFP, the following friday I began bleeding (sorry tmi) so the following Monday I went to my GP and the hcg test she did was negative. She did scans and discovered an ovarian cyst. Now almost 50 days later, still no AF but neg prey test. I don't know what happened or what's going on. Doc told me not to be concerned.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 10/08/2017 11:28

Emvy congratulations and I hope it's a sticky one ♥️

Smurf that all sounds very promising ! You are nearly out of the woods.

Anne I'm sorry about ov uncertainty! Do you use OPKs? Maybe those together with temp should give you a better idea of when it happened.

Well I'm being a HT again now and tested this morning at just 8dpo.. but I think there may be a hint of something on this test??

Off on holiday tomorrow thank god so will be sufficiently distracted for another few days at least!!

Fantastic news emvy, you knew!!!!! Really happy for you and hope they can reassure you about the post dtd bleeding. Look after yourself x

Bertie, your chart is intriguing. What's it done today? And do you get ov symptoms, cm etc?

Mine has gone nuts. Now saying I ovulated Monday! Which is a right bastard as after a pretty busy week or so we then DIDN'T DTD Sunday or Monday. What an arse. Feel really annoyed at myself as pretty sure that means we're out. Did it on Saturday and Tuesday but not the day itself or the day before. Shit bags. Also means rather than being half way through the 2WW I'm now right at the start.

Also the second cycle in a row I've had a dotted line for the day I was sure I ovd and then a confirmed day 4 days later. This also predicts I'll have a 30 day cycle which has never ever happened. Even after my MVA af was back within 28 days. Why is it all so fucking confusing?!

I haven't seen that dude but will read up, thank you!

Such great news on a positive healthy scan smurf Grin Gives us all hope x

ForeverHopeful21 · 10/08/2017 10:26

Congratulations Emvy, what wonderful news. Wishing you lots of luck.

I did a test today. It was negative. Had period pains for 2 days now so just wish it would hurry up. Just ate half a pack of chocolate digestive biscuits and don't even feel bad about it.

Having had surgery to remove ovarian cysts in June and the surgeon saying that my ovaries and tubes looked fine, I was convinced this month was going to be it. I dtd every single day in my fertile week, got positive OPKs, ate healthy and took all my vitamins urghhhhh. Sorry for moaning. Fed up! I'm working until 8pm tonight and I can't be arsed. Got two pregnant clients in today for massage ...one of them is a serial moaner as well. Can't wait!

BertieBotts · 10/08/2017 10:25

Yellow you'd need to take 12 to get 4.8mg.

As for whether it's safe, I don't know. I would assume so, since it's just the same thing, right? But if the smaller tabs are mixed with something else perhaps that would be a problem.

Dude just saw it ... Now contemplating running to the shop to buy some b3 vitamins....
