Come one, come all, new and old, no-one wants to be here, but at least we're glad we've got each other :) Flowers

Hope your stay here is short.

Now, some BFPs if you please and BFNs for those who are waiting for them too!

Lime thank you for the reassurance. I am just being ridiculously anxious and seeing signs of MC everywhere. And/or appendicitis. I'm turning into a proper hypochondriac.

I don't have any kids yet but I can imagine it's horrific no matter how many you already have. Your family isn't 'complete' yet, if that makes sense.

Lime19 · 05/08/2017 19:27

Ineed, just putting in my thoughts about cramping. With my son I had terrible cramps. They actually thought it was an ectopic. I was rolling around on bed. All was good in end. Cramps can just be a sign of stretching.

Lime19 · 05/08/2017 19:24

Hi newbies. And sausage of course you are welcome. There are a few of us that have kids already.

I have a 2 year old son. And whilst I did find the miscarriage easier in a sense because I am so grateful I have my son, it does bring it's challenges too. I desperately wanted to be pampered after my mc, run away from it all and go on a holiday. Of course that was out of question with a toddler. Also the age gap thing. That 2 year gap is imagined is out of the question now. Plus passing clots the size of golf balls whilst looking after a toddler isn't my fave thing ever!

I think mc is just awful whether you have no kids or 10! It's not a nice thing to happen. It's traumatic and upsetting for anyone. Wouldn't wish it in my worst enemy

Hello all Smile

Hoping I may join your little community? We have just decided to TTC again after an early miscarriage in April (at 5.6 weeks). I already have a DS who is 4, so not sure if that excludes me from here (if so, I apologise profusely and wonder if anyone might know a more appropriate place for me?). Despite already having a little boy, I am absolutely devastated that I miscarried. I think I naively thought that as I already had a child (and had an uneventful pregnancy) that there would be no problems. Now all I can anticipate are problems, having a hard time imagining that my next pregnancy will end in any way other than loss.

Anyway, we have decided we are ready to tentatively dip our toes in the TTC pond again and I may need a bit of hand-holding which is why I sought you ladies out! I'm both hopeful for and dreading a BFP!

Wishing all you lovely ladies the absolute best

dudemeister76 · 05/08/2017 18:58

Thats so true Ineed. Weird how people can be with you isn't it?
I find that people are either
A: Strangely inconsiderate of what has happened to you and say the most cringeworthy things.
B: Very awkward around you to the point i sometimes feel i am making a big effort to make them feel less so!
Ive had some strange comments and also close friends and family who don't ask if I'm alright anymore. Im not sure that they have to but it would be nice once in a while. Definitely a lonely experience......apart from you lot though.....thank god.

INeedABiggerBoat · 05/08/2017 18:43

Evening all, hope you're all doing as well as can be. My sore boobs have gone and I've been having a little bit of cramping this evening. I'm just holding onto the fact that I'm now nearly 7 weeks (or 5, depending on how you think about it) so my chances of MC are decreasing. Still expecting to see blood every time I go to the loo.

Miami can I ask - did you have acupuncture after you found out you were pregnant? If so, do you think it helped?

Dude and Thought sorry you are going through this too. I've been trying since January last year, so when I finally got my first BFP a few months ago I was convinced I'd finally triumphed, only to lose it a few weeks later.

It does change the way you look at other people who seem to have had no problems conceiving, doesn't it? I don't think one of my friendships will ever be the same again, after my friend conceived immediately then didn't talk about anything except how excited she was and what she was going to do when her DS arrived, all while knowing how difficult DH and I were finding it all. I don't think she realises that I've distanced myself because I made a real effort to be happy for her when we were together, but I felt I had to step back for my own emotional wellbeing.

StepAwayFromGoogle · 05/08/2017 18:32

Welcome, thought, to our little community. You'll be well looked after - we're a friendly, supportive lot.

Mulder, feel free to come and go as you please. We're all crossing fingers and toes for you.

Dude, I think you have to go private for the endo scratch unless you are offered it as part of a trial on the NHS or are undergoing IVF. I'm thinking of getting the NK killer cells test done at Coventry and asking if they can just do a little scratch while they're in there Grin. I'm under the RMC and on the Tommy's trial but they didn't offer me either so assuming I'd have to pay. Will give them a call on Monday to find out.

MsJuniper · 05/08/2017 16:09

I don't know I'm afraid dude. I'd never heard of it until the study invited me. It's worth asking them.

dudemeister76 · 05/08/2017 15:49

Welcome Thought happy yet sorry to see you on here. I know what you mean about being around pregnant people!! i work in a baby department in boots so i have to see them everyday all day. It can be tough especially when you go past the milestones. I had another meltdown yesterday after leaving the house for work and id turned the calendar over for August and saw that id marked off that id be 16 weeks on sunday. |I cried all the way to work. This thread is the best therapy for me even if i just lurk in the background i still feel everyones highs and lows and a real understanding of how I feel inside. xxx

dudemeister76 · 05/08/2017 15:42

Just a quicky........Does anyone know if there is certain criteria you have to fill to get an endo scratch? I mean lets say a 41 year old lady has been trying to conceive for 6 months without success, can she pop along to the NHS fertility clinic and book one? Ive just checked online and the price list says its 130 quid. Its deffo something id consider if i don't get anywhere in the next few months.

ThoughtAboutThisTooMuch · 05/08/2017 14:32

Is it ok if I join? Though I've been lurking for a week or so already! :)
Had my first MC at 9 weeks in March, then chemical pg at the start of June. Now on cd2 of the 3rd cycle since then. It's coming up to year since we started ttc and I've started to feel like it's never going to happen. I've already got a lovely 2 year old ds so I shouldn't really complain but my next door neighbour and 2 cousins are all due end of October when I was originally due with the first mc so I'm dreading that coming around and still not being pregnant.
Sorry for the long spiel! Really I just wanted to say thanks; it's helped a lot reading through everyone's posts. I think you're all incredibly courageous and it's given me the kick I needed to stop feeling sorry for myself and go and try to do something about it!

yellowfrontdoor · 05/08/2017 12:51

Miami thanks so much for checking back in on us, so pleased everything's progressing nicely Flowers

AnneLovesGilbert · 05/08/2017 12:27

I'm over the moon for you miami, so happy things are going well for you. You've been a wondetful friend to us here, thank you xxx

StepAwayFromGoogle · 05/08/2017 11:55

Sorry to have missed you off the early 40s club list, MsJuniper! x

MulderitsmeX · 05/08/2017 11:33

Congrats on all the bfps! cookie that's a really strong positive.

miami so glad your pregnancy is going well, 20 weeks - halfway so exciting. I can remember your bfp which feels like yesterdaySmile

I feel a bit embarassed after my stress out on weds but after going to the epu on weds it turns out I didn't miscarry, the embryo burst a blood cell of mine hence the blood and cramps. I should be 6 weeks at some point this weekend.

I think I might try and take a break from MN for a few weeks as im not really doing myself any favours panicking so much. If i can get to 3 months i think ill relax a bit but for now I'm going to try to not think about it too much.

Re the asprin thing I am taking baby asprin plus Clexane every day which i think is helping (I have been diagnosed with Factor V Leiden - just 1 faulty gene). I actually got to meet with Dr Lesley Reagan the other week although she didn't say too much.

Btw if you're in London I would recommend UCLH over St Thomas' for reassurance scans, they seemed a bit more compassionate and the hospital is easier to navigate.

MsJuniper · 05/08/2017 11:24

step, I have just turned 41 so am in the early 40s club too! dude I found one of the hardest things about the RMC investigations was having to have a cycle "off" for blood tests and then again for the scratch but I figured just blindly keeping trying hadn't been getting me anywhere so it was worth it and in the meantime I started taking the ubiquinol, myo inositol etc and losing some more weight so I felt like I was still doing something. Bloody hard though esp when you see that ewcm.

I was supposed to be having a hysteroscopy in Sept but when I told them I was pg they obviously cancelled it. When I asked if I lost the pregnancy they would do the procedure, they said I would have to be post mc for 3 months, which was a surprise as they'd not said that before - after the consultation they basically said try to wait but we know you won't!

StepAwayFromGoogle · 05/08/2017 10:45

Miami, thank you so much for popping by to post such a lovely message and give us all some hope. I was lurking on this thread when you and MummaBear4 graduated and so it's so lovely to hear that you are doing so well. Only 20 more weeks to baby!!!

Dude, I'll be 41 in September but figured one more month to get the scratch test done is probably not going to make all the difference. I think you, me and Ekphrasis are all in our (very early) 40s x

emvy · 05/08/2017 10:12

Cookie, congratulations! Nice clear bfp's! Another set to add to the ever growing list - let's keep them coming ladies!!

Miami, I shed a little tear reading your message - I am so so pleased that you're reaching the 20 week mark. Thank you so much for taking the time to pop back and let us know how you're doing and giving us all a little hope 💕

MsJuniper, I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of progression on the cb digi - as others have said - it's notoriously unreliable. With my last weak positive I googled hcg levels and they varied between single and 4 digits just in the first few weeks so it's no doubt the cb digi's struggle!

Those struggling with conceiving again post mc, I'm sorry, I have no advice as I try and take the approach that ignore it as much as possible and almost pretend I'm not ttc, doing nothing other than dtd every other day all month. I guess you could try that? But really I only do that as I don't us opk's to track oh so just want to make sure we're covered. Stay strong 💕

BertieBotts · 05/08/2017 10:10

Thank you Miami xx

Miami that's such a beautiful post to read and very helpful! I did similar to you and hope I am where you are in 15 weeks.

Miami81 · 05/08/2017 08:34

Hi ladies
Sorry to see so many new people since I was on here last. Just wanted to check in and have read back through and see loads of new BFP's congratulations to you and am keeping my fingers crossed for uneventful pregnancies for you.
Anyway - I am 20 weeks tomorrow in my 3rd
pregnancy after 2 mc's. having read a few posts I just wanted to chip in with what happened to us this time round and maybe give some of you some ideas. After my 2nd mc I got 'it starts with the egg', I took it all, the ubiquinol, the vit e, the normal vits etc. I also attended acupuncture, which I really think helped me get my ewcm back on track, I am totally convinced still that my hormones were a little out of whack after the mc. Before acupuncture my ewcm seemed to come really early like cd8 and then I would ovulate 3-4 days later.
I took aspirin from bfp this time round, I am all for throwing the kitchen sink at these things. I had been to the rmc and they had checked and found no clotting issues, but I just couldn't face another pregnancy without changing something. They DID NOT prescribe aspirin even though I asked and I decided to take it myself. When I was bleeding at 6 wks I asked the ladies in the epu if I should stop the aspirins and they said no - they weren't willing to tell me to stop doing something that may be working.
We took a break for 3 months post last mc to give all the iswte vits time to work.
I bled at 5-13 weeks, scanned multiple times at epu. Got put on the progesterone trial at 7-16 weeks, which was 4 'maybe' cyclogest every day.
Also had reflexology which I think really helped with my anxiety through the awful first trimester.
And today I am counting down to my 20 wk scan on Tuesday and am shitting myself that it will all come crashing down around my ears again, but also can't quite believe how far we have come.
Stay strong. They will come. Some of them will take longer then others but I am hoping it will all be worth it in the end for all of us. Flowers

dudemeister76 · 05/08/2017 08:15

Hey everyone, This thread moves incredibly fast! I have been lurking in the background and have been with you all on this emotional rollercoaster of TTC!
Im so pleased for all the BFP's recently (i won't name them all as i'll probably miss someone out!) It really does give me hope that we can all have positive outcomes eventually. Please stick around!!
I haven't really had much to add on here as far as my situation goes. Im still waiting for AF and getting very impatient in the process. Im CD35 today after miscarriage. Strangely, I had a small bleed at work 2 days ago that was sort of bright red mucus and a tiny clot, then it disappeared! Nothing since? I can't be pregnant as i have only had sex twice this cycle. Once this morning (for a rare bit of fun)and once on CD19. Ive been temping since CD22 and it says I've ovulated on CD29?? i could have sworn i Ovd on CD12 or 13. Also I'm constantly checking for blood as it feels like AF is imminent. Maybe i should just ignore the chart for now as it my first go halfway through my cycle after miscarriage. Maybe i should try to 'Chill out' about it like my GP recommended i do! Yes, thats what she actually said! She also said that i should use next month as an observation cycle and not TTC (is she insane? I'm 41 in October FFS) and come back after my birthday if i hadn't conceived yet. I , on the other hand, am quite happy to observe whilst trying to conceive. She said we could look at the hormone tests etc. Im quite surprised i haven't been offered a scan to check its all ok in there though the doc seemed to think this unnecessary as i got a bfn.
I don't know....im just fed up with waiting for AF. Id much rather be fed up in a 2WW.

StepAwayFromGoogle · 05/08/2017 07:53

Digis are notoriously unreliable for dating by weeks, MsJuniper - I think it's because HCG levels can vary so much. Don't let it stress you out. Stronger symptoms is a good sign x

MsJuniper · 05/08/2017 07:42

That's great cookie! I stopped the ubiquinol once I got a positive and the myo inositol & high dose vit c - your others sound ok but I am no expert!

I did my digi but it still says 2-3 weeks. Maybe stupid to hope for 3+ bang on 5w. Disappointed but at least it's not gone backwards - plus I have stronger symptoms again today.

StepAwayFromGoogle · 05/08/2017 07:12

Yay, cookie, that's a very definite line! Congratulations!!!

Stop taking the Q10 now - you're not meant to take that post BFP. Not sure about the others but I'm sure Dr Google will be able to help...
