Hello everyone
I just wanted to update my unusual story and hope it will give everyone out there who doesn't think they have responded well to the stimms some encouragement. As per my last post, I only had 2 mature follicles at day 5 and they wanted to do an EC today. Well, I went in this morning all doom and gloom, got ready for the op even though there was a possibility that the follicles were now not usable. They scanned me first to see if the 2 were still there........they were......and quite unbelievably when I woke up in the recovery room my consultant told me that he had managed to get a big fat 7 !! To say I am pleased is an understatement, I am so happy as I was expecting at the very most 2.
So, I obviously have a long way to go yet - but I've just increased my chances. I would also add that on Monday they gave me the option of abondoning the cycle because of the poor number of follicles (but still only day 5 of stimming) and doing timed intercourse. It was a really difficult decision to make because of the cost, emotional trauma, GA, etc but I decided to go for it and I'm so glad I did. Even if non fertilise tonight, I now know that I can produce some eggs.
What a rollercoaster this whole thing is, this morning I had a real strop and was tearful and negative, now I feel like running down the street like a smiling maniac.
Dogtired - glad to hear that the drugs are going well, I made quite a few errors with my drugs but I think there's a good error margin built in to everyone's program.
Wishing you lots of luck and will definitely keep you updated tomorrow.
