Hi all, thought I'd get the ball rolling on the new thread.

Welcome all with immune/natural killer cell issues.

It's been a while since a new thread so thought it might be helpful if we all added our stats:

I'm harriet, age 30, TTC#1.
3 mcs (2 at 5 weeks, 1 mmc at 9 weeks).
Hypothyroid and high NK cells.
Cycle 2 on pred!

Just... How did you and DH take the gender news! ❤️

LunaB · 22/08/2017 07:08

Tee! 🤞🤞

JustLa · 21/08/2017 18:52

Oh and Harriet, I start dropping off pred weds. 1 tab less every 4 days... seems steep so I'm a little apprehensive but also happy to hopefully have 1 issue off the table! I'm 12+5 (NHS Measurements)!!! I probably could wean right now buuuut happy to wait a few days to make sure, as Mr S was measuring me a little behind NHS again last Monday. Freaking out as took some lactulose which worked great for uhm, pred-preg-bowels lol, but getting some pains today which could be growing, trapped wind (tmi lol) but obvs still thinking the worst. Exhausting!

Xxx

JustLa · 21/08/2017 18:46

Hi all, sorry I've been a bit quieter than normal, I'm on a family holiday and it's keeping me very busy!

Tee! Excited for your testing tomorrow, Harriet is right- I had a bfn at 9dpo and stopped pred until 14 dpo when I realised the old hooters were burning up! Lol Good luck xx

Luna, BF in full swing! Also crossing fingers for you too!!

Harriet!!!! Eeeeee what a lovely scan to have! Congrats on another big strong step. I hope you're feeling ok ❤️

Drttc, also amazing news!!! How lovely you are doing so well.

Lots of fab milestones in here. Sorry if I missed anyone out, lots to catch up on

Xx

LunaB · 21/08/2017 18:38

🤔 Thanks Tee, I will need to check my paperwork for time between pills and food, but it sounds the same, omrezapol (or whatever it's called), then breakfast, then pred - but we are up at 6, so hopefully can take the pred at 6.30-ish... don't feel as manic about taking it as yest... convinced myself it's not to be this month (funny how fear creeps back so quicky 😱 - ah, hello old 'friend')

Tee4me · 21/08/2017 18:15

That's really nice to hear Seeking, it must be a rollercoaster of a field to work in, with so many highs and lows, I suppose he has to have a game face to keep sane and professional. The nurses are lovely too aren't they? I think it's Lorna I've chatted to the most, really supportive and kind. She gave me so much info when I was getting bloods taken, felt like I could ask anything.
Luna I've just had a thought, are you planning to take the Pred when you first wake up @ 6am? I was instructed to take the stomach medication 30mins before food then Pred after brekkie. Or do you get up and eat super early? Or were you told something different altogether?

Seekingmiracles · 21/08/2017 17:51

Fantastic news Harriet!! I genuinely think mr s is lovely and really feels as happy as we do when scans are good, and very sad when they're not. When I had mc 4 he called personally phoned me the following day to see how I was. He's just very matter of fact in the testing and consult phase.
You've reached a massive milestone, fingers crossed for the next. When is your next scan?

Good plan tee, fingers crossed for another happy bfp.** I also didn't take pred as instructed with this bfp - partly because I wasn't expecting to get preggers first attempt, therefore only had a limited amount of tablets. And I seem to have been lucky so far.

Initial consultation is £300 sheepy, then £200 after I think. £250 for scan and appointment. Looks like you're really being looked after now... finally!! I'm glad they've taken your complaint seriously.

harrietm87 · 21/08/2017 14:31

sheepy the price list is on his website but from memory about £275 for initial consultation and then you have to pay for all the tests which are about £2.5k (eeek!!!). You've probably had lots of them already so might not need to repeat them, but he did get me to repeat even the few that I'd had (e.g. Thyroid function) because he wanted the most up to date results. It's not cheap but I honestly believe this is the only way I'll ever have a successful pregnancy.

That sounds like a good plan tee. Don't worry about stopping the pred and then getting a bfp a couple of days later - that happened to just and it's all been fine!

Excited for you and luna and poppy - you will be next on this lucky thread!

Well still at the Steam fair, I have just been offered an appointment with the women's health unit in Swindon as well so things have recently kicked up a notch. My final bloods have come back and I am no longer Septic so that's good.
The complaint is being investigated at the original hospital and I see prof Q in September. Still waiting for Af so we can get to it. I am hoping that I can be preggers by Christmas like all of you will be too.
Out of interest how much is dr s a consultation

LunaB · 21/08/2017 12:52

Yes babes, fingers and toes crossed for you 🙏... be good to get us all preggo by Xmas

Tee4me · 21/08/2017 12:36

Ah Harriet!! Awesome, I'm smiling from ear to ear from you. How lovely to get a smile from the stern Mr S too 😁
I'm in 2 minds about whether I ovulated last Friday or Saturday so I'll be 10 or 11dpo tomorrow morning. If it's a snowy white BFN I'll stop the Pred and try not to let my mind think about 'what if'. I actually only had enough for 20 doses anyway, so I need to keep 10 for next cycle, I don't expect to be back to the clinic before then.
I have a note on my to-do list for tomorrow to call the clinic to either book an infusion for the end of the week or follow up with Dr S at the end of Sept. FX for a miracle that it'll be the former! x

LunaB · 21/08/2017 12:23

Thanks Tee, yes am on monster dose of Omega too... but I after a weekend chasing toddler and puppy I have been slack with the water, so thanks for the tip - will glug a few gallons ASAP!

Yes maybe a 9am Pred is too late, and causing a bit of insomnia... if you get a negative tomo, will you stop the Pred - or take it until you're 100% you're not preg??? Dilemma...

Excellent news Harriet!! How sweet you make him smile with your immense milestone! I loose them by 5/6 weeks so I would be so happy too! Well done! As for the weight.... don't fret - it's the last thing you should worry about... if you were slim and healthy before you got pregnant you will be afterwards as well - fact! Actually, I went even slimmer and healthier after my baby (it was a tough job, took 1.5 years, but it did happen!). Get some ice cream in you woman; your pregnant ffs 😝🎉

My BF is going well, 3 boinks done, 3 to go 💓

harrietm87 · 21/08/2017 12:05

Aaah tee exciting that you're testing tomorrow! What dpo will you be and how are you feeling? You're so lucky with the pred - I've been SO hungry on it and am now so fat! (Not objectively- just from what I was. I used to be a 10 and now I'm a fat 12 and none of my jeans fit 😭😭. I know it's the pred not pregnancy as the main thing that's grown is my arse!!)

BUT I'd do it all over in a heartbeat for this. Had my scan with Mr S this morning and everything is perfect. I thought I was 6+5 today but turns out I'd miscalculated and I should be 6+3 from LMP, but was measuring 6+4, heartbeat of 120bpm. I've never seen Mr S smile before but he seemed really happy and said he thought this was the crucial scan for me as I've always lost them by this point. I just feel so lucky right now I almost can't believe it. I know still so far to come but it just feels like a massive hurdle. DH was with me and shed a few tears when he saw it which was lovely!

luna hope your boinkfest went well! And how is everyone else feeling - seeking and drttc and just? just - when do you start weaning off the pred - must be soon?

I think my CM improved since being on the Omega 3. I take a high strength one from Healthspan. Make sure you chug a tonne of water today, that helps with CM x

Tee4me · 21/08/2017 11:59

I take my Thyroxine at 7am, then the stomach settler at 8/8.30am, then the Pred after breakfast around 9am.
If I'm unsuccessful this month I'm going to have a switch around to Thyroxine last thing at night so can get on the Pred first thing. I took my 10th dose this morning. Will test with FMU tomorrow so will know if I can keep going or not! My guess is it'll be a BFN but trying not to get too anxious thinking about it today.
Did you manage a decent BF??!!

LunaB · 21/08/2017 11:30

That's interesting Tee... what time do you take yours?

Yes I'm holding out! Convinced myself I have poor CM as it doesn't seem as good this month... but am trying to decide I'm being an idiot and should shut up! Will bosh at 6am tomorrow 😬🙌

Testing tomorrow aren't you!? How many days are you on the Pred now?

Tee4me · 21/08/2017 11:12

I haven't noticed feeling hungrier, but it is starting to take me longer to fall asleep at night, not sure if that's the pred or just a coincidence. Also notice my heart thumping quite a lot. Woken up with a banging headache today. How is everybody? Luna are you holding out until tomorrow to bosh the pred? x

Seekingmiracles · 21/08/2017 07:32

Pred makes me so hungry! That's why I put on so much weight at the start! Then I stop and it calms down! I def have a fat face already!

Sheepy1980 · 20/08/2017 20:44

Is anyone else constantly hungry on Pred, I am currently watching Miranda in the awning of our camper while Listening to the rain. I am planning a run tomorrow morning and will then see about sorting out the DVD player and some lights.
DD has gone to bed because it is cold

LunaB · 20/08/2017 17:17

Thanks girls! 💓 Tuesday it is 🌝
Hope everyone is 👌

harrietm87 · 20/08/2017 16:57

I agree with tee - you want to start it after ovulation so I'd go Tuesday. If you take it tomorrow am you might not have ovulated and it might delay/prevent ovulation. I took it before ovulation on my first cycle because I was confused with my opks, and I ended up ovulating 6 days later, which I think was at least partly due to the pred.

Will do a proper catch up later but so happy for you drttc!

OP posts:
Tee4me · 20/08/2017 16:51

If it were me, I'd probably go for Tuesday! I got my positive opk on a Thursday and took my first dose on Saturday morning. I think if you only got the solid face this afternoon, you're most likely due to ovulate later in the day tomorrow? So the following morning sounds spot on? x

LunaB · 20/08/2017 15:19

🤔 had flashy face on ovulation test at 6am, and when I retested at 2pm it was solid face...

So when should I take the flipping Pred...?

Tomorrow morning (will be less than 24 after solid face) or Tuesday morning (will be like 40 hours after solid face & could therefore be after ovulation) 😱😱😱😱

Seekingmiracles · 19/08/2017 21:21

Fantastic news drttc! ❤️❤️❤️
