Hi all - well it's a bit late for my temp - we are nearly into tomorrow now!! Anyway I think mine is a bit unreliable as I didn't get much sleep last night and was awake at 4am so no good 4 hours of sleep before temp taking.

Mum03 - will email you for the blog link would love to see it! Did you find good energy saving lightbulbs - all the ones I have bought give off a grim sort of fluro style of light

greedy and graduates- I must confess to having a peek on your graduates thread and I am so about the lack of new grads - I might be wrong but I think that there are no Nov, Dec or Jan EDD's - whats going on!! !

beansprout - sending you a big {{{hug}}}

Rah - sorry you have no clear signs of OV - but go for it
all the same -how many stories are there about it happening when you least expect it And sorry Cardiff shopping wasn't up to scratch - I thought it was really good - bummer

NappyValley -Your romantic images of Cornwall are all true and more - the sunsets are amazing and our beach is stunning- but unfortunately today I have been in meetings all day and barely saw the sun feeling very hard done by (and pale )

Ready - Ohh- I had forgotten about Scrappy Doo!! That is exactly the "lemme at 'em" to which I was referring

Rattling - IKWYM about bottom of the list stress - my cycles are shorter than most so I usually get to hide behind someone and then leap frog back to the top - in fact I think I am gradually lapping everyone

MrsMc - hope you are doing OK - absolutely know where you are coming from with the anniversary blues - it is our 2nd ann in 2 weeks and if you had told me 2 years ago that we would not have a baby by then I would have been mortified
I was browsing some info on acupuncture earlier and the following quote really interested me and I thought I would pass it on - I did not want to crash the TTC after M/C thread as it may be insensitive but I thought this info was fascinating as I had always assumed that once the sperm has met the egg and you get a BFP its was home and dry IYKWIM? (naive I know but it is a revelation to me that m/c's could as well be caused by a bad sperm.

"But a successful pregnancy requires more than a successful fertilization. Survivability is highly depended on the quality of the sperm. A better sperm will generally have a better morphology (shape) which reflects how well the chromosomes are packed in the head of a sperm. In general, a better shaped sperm will have better physiological functions and expressions than a poorly formed or shaped sperm. It logical to assume that a good looking sperm will be have better DNAs and will result better embryos. Less miscarriages."

Ok I'm off to bed

mum03 · 03/05/2007 20:01

Did not temp this morning as I was woken every 1/2 hour from 6am with children needing to be cuddled/put back to bed/nappy removed etc. I might temp tomorrow or I might leave it a few days anyway.

Seaside - I don't think I replied about my house building blog, please do email me if you want to see the blog,: thingingoftrying @ yahoo.co. uk (just leave out the spaces) I don't mind anyone seeing it, just don't want to put the link here on the public site (I know I am weird!) By emailing me Ready managed to work out my real name!!!

Went round the whole of our new house today changing all the lightbulbs from normal ones to energy saving ones, so feeling self-rightous!!!

MrsMcJnr · 03/05/2007 15:19

Rattling ? sorry to hear that the results are still pretty poor I wish I knew what to suggest to help improve things. Enjoy the temping break don?t leave us though!

Greedy ? I was thinking that about the need for new graduates when I was on that thread earlier, I cannot believe that so many are nearly there. Its my 1st wedding anniversary on 2nd June so that?s roughly when we started TTC, I?m glad no one showed me a crystal ball. My Mum and sis both had babies before their 1st anniversary

Seaside ? will have to go for a chart spot and come back to you.

Beansprout ? nice to see you (though of course I wish you were just visiting) are you ok?

Hello Minxi

Rahrah ? hope OV catches up with you soon! Have fun!

NappyValley love your chat! My Sis lives in Cardiff, seems to rain ALL the time! I hear you on the symptoms! I got bored of symptom spotting last time round but I guess I haven?t done it for a while, sure the novelty will wear off when I remember that most of them mean sod all or weren?t actually there at all

Hey Ready we have starlings too, noisy blighters (and messy) aren?t they? No worries about the temps, I just didn?t want to upset you. I?m ok, still think I?m 7dpo and not 6!

rattling · 03/05/2007 14:54

Definately lurking. And it's nonsense about temping adding stress. The stress comes entirely from being at the bottom of the list .

Hello to everyone!

Ready · 03/05/2007 14:47

Does anyone know anything about Starlings? Any idea when the little ?uns will fly the nest and allow us to have the hole boarded up and repainted??

Rah So? what dress did you get from Ted Baker? Was it this? Or this? Got my eye on them
Looking at your chart, you?ve had a temperature dip, which could mean that you will ovulate tomorrow. Key thing is to relax and try not to worry about it. Your eggs are on holiday too you know so if they want to take their time ? then they will ? and relaxed eggs are best ? they let all the sperm hit on them Enjoy your holiday and try not to worry!!
at you going to the beach ? I could just lay on the beach right now!

Seaside - It?s like scrappy doo (am I showing my age!?) ?lemme at ?em?
I missed the temperature conundrum ? I don?t know how! But I have to say that I am also of the school of thought that your thermometer can only show a reading as hot as you are ? it can give a lower reading for a variety of reasons (probe too cold and cools surrounding area, probe not in complete contact etc) but I fail to see how it can give an abnormal high temp. Go with the high one. If it looks wrong on the chart ? disregard it

MrsMc - That was my fault, I bolded CD2, so probably made you feel bad. Sorry hon, I was only bolding it as an alteration. Hope you didn?t think I was mithering? Sorry I made you feel bad. towards The Chain Smoking Binge Drinker.
How are you? Hope you are doing good ? and not worrying about ovulation now? Keeping fingers crossed for you.

Greedy - Will do what I can to never join the top of the list! Fingers crossed huh! Hope you are ok?

Mum03 - Glad you are feeling positive ? I love your positive thoughts ? and it would be super cool for your baby to be born on your birthday! I checked my next EDD (is that jinxing do you think?) and it is 6 days before my birthday ? so here?s hoping huh!!! We really shouldn?t keep letting greedy down like this either

Minxi - How was your night out with the girls? Did you get what you wanted when you got home?

Beansprout - Yep. CD1 is a shocker isn?t it. And I know what you mean about the blind optimism ? it gets harder and harder each month. But we have to keep going don?t we! It?s what we do! It?s who we are!

NappyValley - Gearing up for Operation Fertilise? Couldn?t resist an army analogy for you! Hope you are doing ok?

Iwillbe - Where are you chick? Been awfully quiet?

Rattling - Hope you are enjoying not temping ? not sure if you are lurking? Hope all is well.

Duchesse - You ok?? Saw you were having some issues with the OPKs on another thread? Some people just don?t get on with them ? don?t beat yourself up about it.

Jess - Hope you are ok?

Cityangel - Hope you are still having a wonderful time Stateside!

The Graduates ? hope you are blooming in the gorgeous weather!!

Rah - I hear your frustration, but seriously hun relax and enjoy Wales and if you are able to bump uglies at your MIL (it is a no fly zone in our campaign) do it anyway eggs or no eggs. those salty swimmers last up to 5 days so you never know.

I lived just north of Swansea in a village called Ynestawe (or something like that) for 3 months. It rained EVERY day at 4pm. I was working doing some training at the Ford plant. But there was some great scenery out of the city though. Have fun - that's and order!!

Seaside - hope you ge time today for a pleasant stroll on the beach in the evening sunshine or am I jsut having romantic images of Cornwall!!

Mum03 - sorry you are back at the top. Well done on great attitude and CD1 bounce back. I think a good cry gets the feeling over with quicker. I have to confess about feeling v positive about May too, which I am trying to talk myself out of!!

MrsMc - fingers crossed but try to stop imagining symptoms or you might go a little mad. You will just have to wait until your body catches up with your instinct.

I'm getting annoyed now, I have got mixed signs about whether I am going to ovulate..

Positives that will:

  1. Some side stomach pains yesterday (could of been the Indian I had)
  2. A change in CM, but only a little bit

Negatives that not near:

  1. Normally show clear ferning, can only just see a little bit today
  2. negative OPK
  3. No watery CM yet, normally get that for a while before ovulation

ARRRRGGGGGG - this is typical... down in wales, with a relaxed husband and no bloody eggs appearing! WTF!!! Why is my body so bloody annoying! Latest I have ever ovulated before is CD18 in last 3 months, and have little or no signs like normally so don't think it will happen any time soon.

If I had seen Charlotte Church - it would of been in the newspapers

We are just outside Swansea and parked in Swansea yesterday to catch the train to Cardiff. The shops were a bit pants to be honest in Cardiff... was not impressed. I got a T-Shirt from Zara, a lovely dress from Ted Baker and a skirt and a top from Top shop. So got my fill

I hope everyone is well...I'm off to the beach now, so catch you all later.

Hi everyone,

Sorry to see you back at the top mumo3 and Ready. The CD1 feeling really is uniquely depressing. I really feel for you. That horrible feeling of all or nothing. There are no half measures, we are either pregnant or we are not, and we seem to not be. I find it harder each month to summon up the blind optimism that this could be the month....

Rah - where in Welsh Wales are you? I went to college in Swansea, bloody lovely part of the world. Let me know if you want me to have a less-walking-more-shopping type word with your dh.

Nappy - where is this pregnancy panda of which you speak?!

Seaside - how are you lovely one?

Big hello to everyone else. Will try and post more later!

I'm 37 (yep, born in 1969). Not that this depresses me or anything....

Hi all - have had a manic day and it is far from ver so not much time for a mega post.

Mum03 so sorry I know you were really hopeful - last month I foolishly though that being really hopeful would not make much diff as I get depressed when AF arrives anyway - but it was way worse - like a fall from a great height. It such a kick in the teeth - well done for bouncing back - it took me 10 days this month

MrsMc - Thanks for the reassurance over software & temp issues! Actually I am still a bit confused as if I stuck with low temp yesterday then todays temp rise was really big so could be ov yesterday?? but I am sure it was more likely CD13 If I go with the lottie temp theory - go with highest temp as you must have gotten that hot to get it and also the rule of thumb thing where you go with the temp that matches your "pattern" I guess I would go with the higher temp for yesteday and then it all looks good - phew - how boring was that!

Ready well done for being positive and your usual fabulous chipper self - did I see mention of the voice of an angel - let me at her!!

Minxi - of your mani/pedi!

NappyValley - its a scorcher down here - and I have been stuck inside all day on the phone and email No fair!

Rah - ohh shopping in Cardiff - fantastic - < shhh I'm with Ready you know what to do if you see la Church!> sorry MrsMc

greedy I know - we need some temp bud representation on the 08 AN boards and we need it soon!

Back later

Nappyvalley ? hello hon! 1973 lady like me!

Ready ? I put you in the wrong place in the running by accident and felt very insensitive it LOST SPOILER ? she did indeed say Kate was next (mind
you, not many other women that we know about and trust they?ve had their fill of analysing Claire!) Good point, where is Weepottle? That was very naughty about Charlotte Church!

Minxi ? good luck this cycle! Peace has prevailed in the Mc household since last Thurs now I?m so hoping this is a lucky cycle for many of us! Sounds like you are having a nice time!

RahRah ? hope the pump arrives! Bbbbbbbbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrr! Don?t fall into Torchwood when out shopping now!

I'M BACK ! Yep after a good weep on dh's shoulder last night and feeling the worst I have since this ttc lark, I am feeling a little less pessamistic this morning. dh's hugs and his prayers to give us super-spermies and fertile eggies, made me start to put some more sensible focus on the whole thing.
My positive thoughts : 1) I did not want to be pg this month and be due to give birth at my SIL wedding. 2) I have to go painting soon and the fumes and standing on wobbly planks to reach the high bits would not be good for a pg girl. 3) dh has agreed to abstain totally from alcohol this month during the important phase and 4) I checked my next possible due date - and it is on my birthday!!!! So how's that for positive thinking on cd2

Minxi - enjoy your busy day.

Nappy - I agree the weather is fantastic.

Rah - have fun in Cardiff, come back and tell us what you did/got.

Seaside - did you sort out which temp to use yesterday?

Rattling - sorry to hear the dh test results, I hope that taking a break from temping helps you to go on holiday relaxed and enjoy yourself.

Greedy, Fettle, Honeyapple - hi to you all, hope you are all soon blooming nicely!

MrsMc - are you coping in the 2ww, so annoying when the software changes your ov day, does it to me regularly!!!

Ready and Beansprout - you inspired me to pick myself up and stop moping you both bounced back so quickly (Beansprout - hope you are still ok?)

Duchesse - glad you found your old thermometer, did you find your new one yet?

Jess - how are you, you sounded a little low in the last post I read from you, are you ok?

Iwillbe - hi how are you doing?

Cityangel - haven't heard from you in a while- are you around?

Lottie - big hi to you too, hope you are enjoying yourself. I have just got an invite to a wedding in Spain next March - I have never been there so I am looking forward to it, I might have to come looking for advice from you on Spain nearer the time!

I hope I have not missed anyone out, if I have please give me a shout.

Ready all good thanks...feeling positive this month (and very hot), will be scarily warm though if temp doesn't start dropping - can't imagine the coverline! Dh away until tomorrow..so reminded him it is cd10 tom and I am out for the evening to the theatre with some girlfriends....and would be back to get it on as it were!! and that I am doing everything to the letter this month its also a full moon tonight is that good...? well if it is no bloody good for me as dh not around hope you are okay...p.s. was 35 in January and for the record am an aquarian!

Mum03 hope you are okay to see you back at cd1 again - what is going on when are we going to get any positives on this site...

think we jinxed it should have stayed at temp 3 or whatever it was when there was all those bfp's

seaside all good here, clomid is fine until a few days before af due and a day or so after...but feel great - bit tired as have been manic busy last few days...plus did cardio tennis this morning and feel shattered! pmsl at you realising on the way to the loo you hadn't temped and had to run back under the duvet...did you breathe - how long did you wait think I waited a moment and thought oh ffs try to remember one thing took it but thought its probably best discarded as sooo warm but then have been like that all week ?!

Rah - hope you are okay and enjoying the break with dh - you must be using your mil's pool its roasting at the moment

MrsMc - Hope all is well in the McM household....hate conflict especially around ov time but fingers crossed we get some good news this month.....I think we jinxed ourselves when we set up a new temp buds should have kept the one that had several bfp's on going

Nappy all fine here just busy and back to the grindstone with ov day due soon...actually v excited but then think I seem to be like that every month until a few days before! Hope you ok

Beansprout where are you - hope you are surviving this hiccup you will be back with a bfp before you know it fingers crossed to you and your dh x

Iwillbe glad you went to the dr and are being checked it will be worth it !

Anyone else!! Hope all is well! xxxx

Mum03 - at your house!! And the plot!! Underfloor heating NEEDS to have wooden floors ? that should settle it
Sorry to hear that you are CD1 today! Damn and blast.

Rah - Oh the sensitive so and so?s ? I can?t help being curious about people?s age it?s the nosy streak in me!
Had much chance to get in that pool ??

Minxi -Your temps are high aren?t they ? goodness knows how high they will get post-ovulation How are you feeling?

Seaside - I knew we would both agree on white! Shockingly enough though, there is not a white wall in my house ? DH put his foot down this time. I got a white lounge in our last house and he wanted something else this time ? we compromised on dove grey!
I am so at your seagrass ? I wanted it in the bedrooms, but DH said it was too rough under foot. Wood and tiles downstairs though ? I wouldn?t have anything else on the ground floor myself.
I think I covered your chart stuff on the United thread??
Sorry if I have spoiled Lost for you now? but it seems that sperm counts are IMMENSE on the island

MrsMc - I am confused, what did you do?? Or what did I do to make you ?
SPOILER PMSL at the fact that all the women on the island die ? good point!! I hadn?t thought that far ahead I agree with you about Kate ? didn?t Juliette say something about ?Austin? into the tape recorder?? NappyValley* - Oooh yeah, love the idea of a +ve tiara ? can I get Swarovski crystals on it please

Does anyone know where Weepootleflump is?? It?s been AGES since she moved, and I am starting to worry about her!! [concerned face]

Everyone else!! Hope all is well!

Evening all.
Oh Rah waht a nightmare. I bet he was thinking it would be all romantic etc. Hope he is looking after you properly. Well done on going outdoors. First time is the worst.

Seaside - DH is certainly doing well there. That would be a record in our house too. Keep up the good work Mr Seaside - send the troops in - in fact your must me the Normandy Beach invasion

Ready thanks for asking ages, as I was curious - ok make that nosey. I am another '73 baby and will be 34 in October. Glad to see the +ve tiara is firmly in place. Wouldn't it be great if more than 1 of us hit the jackpot this cycle.

Mum03 - oooh your Grand Design sounds fab. Love the sound of Seasides flooring. But I an a real wood floor fan myself, although I agree about the carpet on the the stairs. I think white works well on a modern open plan style, but for me I prefer a slightly warmer colour. DH picks all the colours in our house so I should probably not offer any advice, I am the painter, not the designer.

Got to split and get myself some food, as DH not home til late most mon-weds. Shock horror thought of me cooking (ok technically reheating!)
