Hi everyone last Monday I had two embryo's transfered in donor ivf and I'm desperate to
speak to anyone who is going through this as well.
My mind is whirling round wondering what every ache and pain is. Is everyone as neurotic as me?

Cookie, do you have any idea why your orevious attempts didn't work? Looking back can you see something that might of been an attribute? I only ask because I am SO sure that it's going to work for me 1st time! Others have told me that a PMA (positive mental attitude) goes a long way to success ... how do you feel about that?

CookieMonster · 14/07/2004 13:51

nannyjayne, yes I was successful 6th time around - I have a beautiful 3 year old dd. As to how I coped with the failures ... not too well some of the times, I was on ADs during the last year of it all. I think my major lifeline was dh - he was obviously gutted as well each time we came up negative, but he just picked me back up and told me how lucky we were that we could try again in a couple of months time.
How are you doing nannyjayne? Do you have a supportive dp/dh?

waiting for the test after any kind of conception is hard, and you can't even have a few drinks to take your mind off things. try not to worry about every ache and pain though, sometimes aches and pains are a positive sign that things are "sticking", and the pregnancy is starting to happen.

nannyjayne · 13/07/2004 21:26

Cookiemonster have you been successful? How did you cope with the negative ?

HI Beckief I hope your successful and I agree the waiting is the worst and you feel hopeless because there is nothing you can do. We are going to the Isle Of Wight tomorrow for a week. I am hoping that will make it go quickly. I have very mixed feelings about the test at the moment I could be pregnant and can dream a little. I really am hoping it will be +.

oh nannyjayne, good luck! I know exactly what you are going through having done it 6 times myself ... for me the 2 weeks between transfer and pregancy test were the worst part. No good advice really except to say try to relax and be good to yourself - best wishes CM xx

Hi Nannyjane, my thoughst are with you. DP and I are awaiting to start our first IVF course and apart from the egg collection, the thing I'm most nervous about is the transfer because once they are in it's out of your hands (so to speak)! I can only suggest that you keep yourself busy, think positive and don't over exert yourself. Are you taking time off work at all? Best of luck to you and your partner, as the others say, keep us up to date regardless of the outcome. Hugs xxxxx

Although we are still trying the conventional way I'm joining the club! I am in the same boat as you. We timed the intercourse perfectly to coincide with the ovulation. And I am awayting eagerly for the result.

kalex · 12/07/2004 22:16

Nannyjayne, you will keep us all posted please.

You will be in my thoughts

nannyjayne · 12/07/2004 21:51

Thank you both it is reassuring to hear that I'm not the only one going quietly mad. At the moment I'm taking it easy to give them a chance to "dig in" but this makes time go very slowly, but I would do anything to keep them. I hope everyone gets a positive result.

Nothing to add Nannyjayne, but I really hope you are pregnant, even when I conceived dd, without intervention, I was going barmy when I was waiting to find out whether I was or wasn't. Fingers crossed 4 you

DelGirl · 12/07/2004 21:45

yes well, have been in the past and no doubt will be in a few weeks as well. and yes, you'll probably take a dozen tests before you really should!
