Hi everyone last Monday I had two embryo's transfered in donor ivf and I'm desperate to
speak to anyone who is going through this as well.
My mind is whirling round wondering what every ache and pain is. Is everyone as neurotic as me?

Just wondering how you are today nannyjayne?

Canadianmom · 20/07/2004 17:31

Sorry nannyjane I hope that Wednesday brings better news. (my SIL had 2 negative tests three days and one week after her AF was due so assumed that she could drink wine at a friend's wedding only to find out one week later that she was in fact expecting her dd3.) Fingers crossed.

katierocket · 19/07/2004 17:16

poor you nannyjane, fingers crossed.

CookieMonster · 19/07/2004 16:49

mrsflowerpot · 19/07/2004 11:59

hi nannyjayne, I'm so sorry that you had a negative test. Maybe it is just too early like the hospital said, so everything crossed for you. Will be thinking of you on Wednesday, the waiting must be horrible.

nannyjayne · 19/07/2004 11:54

Hi everyone, pregnancy test was negetive but the hospital have said to do another one Wednesday as I have been feeling very tired and quite different to the trial run of drugs. But I think I won't get my hopes up.

Thank you all for sending me a message. It is very supportive knowing you are not the only one going mad. Good luck to anyone else testing tomorrow. I hope and pray that everyone gets a positive.

My heart goes out to you - been through this twice - and it's absolutely consuming. Every other thought and conversation is superficial. I think both times I just fretted until the 2 weeks were up. I was working full time and I must admit, this did help to put some normality in my day. My very best wishes to you.

rubyt · 16/07/2004 12:11

nannyjayne - how I got through those dreadful 2 weeks - watching re-runs of Sex and the City (my husband bought me all the series) so I just watched one after the other - marvellous distraction. I also used to visualise the embryos digging in as if climbing Everest with their ice-picks - this must have had an effect as my son climbs anything - bookcases, stairs, me! WE also used to go out to the cinema, eating - anything but to stay at home and think. Good luck to you.

Tessiebear · 15/07/2004 15:01

nannyjayne - i am sure you would get lots of daily support on the "trying to Conceive" thread as well

nannyjayne-hope and hope it will be good news for you. Know someone who has gone thorugh this and now has a two year old . Good luck and lots of love.

CookieMonster · 14/07/2004 21:02

Becki, I've no real idea why my first 5 cycles failed ... I imagine it was a combination of my age (I was 40 by the time it finally worked) and the quality of the embryos (dh and I were doing ICSI rather than standard IVF therefore the sperm must be of a lower quality) but it DID work in the end so I suppose it's just large amounts of luck. I think that a positive attitude is a must-have ... just keep believing that it's going to work.
Hugs and best wishes to all going through this or about to go through it sometime soon. CM xx

Bakedbean · 14/07/2004 19:59

Oh how i feel for you! That two weeks is the worst (I went through it in April). I had two embryos implanted too and did feel lots of aches and pains. Very sore boobs within a day and as I get those with my period I was sure it was on the way. Everytime I went to the loo, I was so scared I would have started!

You're nearly there....not long to go now.

I've got everything crossed for you!

lostinparis · 14/07/2004 19:40

Good luck nanyjayne! I think all of us that are ttc keep having those couple of weeks of being hypersensitive about every signal our body gives while waiting to find out so although I can't offer any advice I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you.
