Jumping on the crazy train for the first time... ALL ABOARD FOR THE 2WW!

Firstly I must apologise to all you mumsnetters... I've been a lurker for a while and have never understood the craziness surrounding the 2WW until today! Have literally just ovulated yesterday on our first round of TTC and I've already been symptom spotting/furiously checking and rechecking my calendar and Ovia app like a pro!

Logically I know that there is literally no chance of any symptoms yet and DEFINITELY no need to POAS for the next 10 days at least, but there's another (much louder it seems) part of me that keeps thinking that the reason I'm so bloated/gassy (seriously what is up with that?!) or keep dropping my keys/knocking everything over or these cramps are obviously due to the fact I must be pregnant 🤦🏻‍♀️.

So to stop me going completely around the bend, I thought I'd ask if anyone is due to POAS around the 21st of July? If so, do you want to wait with me? All those who have done this before, feel free to leave me tips on how not to think about this 24/7!

Thanks TheFlame how are you getting on, it's nearly test day right?

I hope you guys don't mind me hanging about on here, I want to see how you all get on and to be honest I'm not ready to head over to the pregnancy board as it doesn't seem real yet and I'm scared I'm going to wake up one day with AF!

I missed the postives! congrats guys :)

WaitingTillJuly17 · 20/07/2017 06:33

Hi Sictransit! Welcome to our little gang! Yes it's amazing how much you learn when it applies to yourself! I'm sure we'd all ace a reproductive biology test! Keep us posted on any and all symptoms you have and good luck!

Hello. Nervous nelly here posting for the first time. Ttc #1 and this is my first cycle. I'm 29. I have never learnt so much about our cycles etc since the past few days, it's quite incredible! I'm hoping to test on 27th/28th as going away for a girls weekend on 28th and need to know if its ok to drink or not! 🙈

Congrats on the BFPs in this thread and fingers crossed for those still trying 🤞

WaitingTillJuly17 · 19/07/2017 21:32

Thanks guys, I've still got my fingers crossed for all of you!

Welcome Chloe, you've come to the right place, we're all very friendly so hopefully will help you not to stress out! I'm so impressed that you and HolyShmoly haven't got any tests, that's more willpower than I had!

Sorry about AF Floopy 😢 Hopefully you'll get there next month!

Cuppa I've had lower back pain from around 6/7 dpo almost every day and only got my faint bfp yesterday. Chill out for a day or two then try again.

HellsBells it will depend on the length of your luteal phase but that sounds about right. Good luck!

More cramps today. Not sure if that means AF is on her way? Every time I go to the loo I panic she would have arrived. I'm not testing until I'm definitely late. Got a bright pink ovulation strip on the 8th so imagine she should arrive by 22nd? Does that sound right? Funny how you don't notice pmt symptoms until you are trying to distinguish them from pregnancy symptoms!!! Then you can't notice anything else!

HolyShmoly · 19/07/2017 19:55

Congrats Bumpkin and Waiting I'm delighted for you both!

Grumpy and Floopy that's so shit, I'm sorry. FX for next month. Couple glasses of wine tonight?

Cuppa hide the tests till the weekend.

I'm with Chloe in that I haven't bought any tests yet. I'm not going to unless I notice some serious symptoms, but I think I can only really look for sore boobs and a rising heart rate. I'm around 7/8dpo now so we'll see what the next few days/week brings.

I'm mostly talking myself out of buying new clothes in case they get a short lifespan. My sister has recently cleared out her old maternity wardrobe and left them at our Mum's in case I need them at any point soon. This was before she even knew I was trying!

IfeelFloopy · 19/07/2017 18:51

Congratulations Bumpkin and Waiting!

As I suspected, I started spotting this morning so I am out for this month.

Getting myself some evening primrose and an ovulation kit for next month!

Chloe2008 · 19/07/2017 13:36

Hi all Smile
Second cycle this month, ovulated around the 14th, due on the 30th of July so on the 2ww now... keep everything crossed for me.
I got really stressed about getting a positive result last month and when I should test.. I ended up being 6 days late and 100% sure I was pregnant. Think I was stressing myself out so badly that that was the reason my period was so late.

This month I have completed decided to chill about it, I'm not going to buy a pregnancy test I am just going to wait and see what happens. Halo
Baby dust to all xxx

CuppaTea86 · 19/07/2017 13:30

Well another negative for me! Loads of low back pain and I think thats indicating AF on her way this weekend.
Have told myself no more tests and wait- if no AF Sunday then test again. So depressing when you don't get a line :(

CoconutGal · 19/07/2017 12:51

The nausea is still there, I'm tired but there's nothing else. I think I'm feeling a little deflated & AF is on her way judging by my mood too.

TheFlame · 19/07/2017 12:36

how are you feeling now coconut?

I think I am out again. Nothing I can put my finger on really - no particular symptoms bar some bloating, but I just feel very very 'unpregnant' if that makes any sense at all.

CoconutGal · 19/07/2017 07:09

Sooo, AF didn't arrive yesterday. I've had no signs of her arriving either. 🤔 This morning at 2am I woke up with a stabbing pain in my stomach. It was so strong I thought I was going to vomit. Ran to the bathroom, had a wee instead, pain went away so I went back to bed. Got comfortable & BAM! Pain again. This time, I was sick. Now I just feel tired & queasy with a dull ache on my stomach. 😞

WaitingTillJuly17 · 19/07/2017 06:44

Thanks Grumpy, I've been feeling pretty queasy these last couple of days. Still not due AF until Saturday so now 🤞🏻It's not a chemical.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 19/07/2017 06:41

That's a v clear positive! Congratulations x

AF is here 😢

TheGrumpySquirrel · 18/07/2017 22:44

I'm 13dpo as well so unless very late implantation I'm out. Congrats @Bumpkin21 - if I got tests like that I'd be celebrating!

Bumpkin21 · 18/07/2017 22:37

I'm 13 dpo and only seeing fairly faint lines. I tested at 11 dpo with a FRER and not even a squinter. So I think when they say you can test 6 days early they're stretching the truth. You're not out until AF arrives!

WaitingTillJuly17 · 18/07/2017 21:57

Sorry Grumpy just remembered you're already late, but if you implanted late you could still be in with a chance (especially if you can see a line on your test already). 🤞

OP posts:
WaitingTillJuly17 · 18/07/2017 21:55

Did you see anything in person Grumpy? I could see a line on a FRER this morning but it was so faint and you definitely couldn't see it on a photo. It's a 6 days before missed period and I'm due on Saturday so technically could have picked something up yesterday but it was a BFN. I also compared todays to Mondays and there was a clear difference. Hoping that it will look a bit better tomorrow but I'm still convinced it was a mistake!

Looking good Bumpkin! Time for a FRER?

Mummys implantation can occur at any time between 6 and 12 dpo. You then need to factor in a couple of days for HCG to build up enough to show on a test, so still early days at CD24.

OP posts:
TheGrumpySquirrel · 18/07/2017 21:31

FRER negative. That's a cb 6 days early so should pick up

MummysMaison · 18/07/2017 20:14

Sorry Grumpy I don't see anything :(

Bumpkin to me that looks positive! The spotting may have been from implantation?

CuppaTea86 · 18/07/2017 20:00

Don't think I can see anything on my phone screen grumpy- I think the clear blue ones have a higher hcg threshold to turn positive so maybe give another day or try a pink dye like frer?
I think that looks positive bumpkin, what dpo are you? Did the spotting stop?
