Jumping on the crazy train for the first time... ALL ABOARD FOR THE 2WW!

Firstly I must apologise to all you mumsnetters... I've been a lurker for a while and have never understood the craziness surrounding the 2WW until today! Have literally just ovulated yesterday on our first round of TTC and I've already been symptom spotting/furiously checking and rechecking my calendar and Ovia app like a pro!

Logically I know that there is literally no chance of any symptoms yet and DEFINITELY no need to POAS for the next 10 days at least, but there's another (much louder it seems) part of me that keeps thinking that the reason I'm so bloated/gassy (seriously what is up with that?!) or keep dropping my keys/knocking everything over or these cramps are obviously due to the fact I must be pregnant 🤦🏻‍♀️.

So to stop me going completely around the bend, I thought I'd ask if anyone is due to POAS around the 21st of July? If so, do you want to wait with me? All those who have done this before, feel free to leave me tips on how not to think about this 24/7!

Well ladies 100% not preg this time spend the weekend in hospital as they has discovered ive a large cyst on my right ovary due to the pain & discomfort i was having was also maybe explain no AF

Welcome newbie 😊 hope you find this thread helpful 😊

I might start using the clear blue ovulation tests too while they are dearer i like the fact you find out your peak/window

rachelandthenoodle · 19/08/2017 18:45

Hi ladies- may I join? I recognise some of you from other threads.

Had a mc in March and was left with retained product so recovering wasn't straightforward. All that is (hopefully) sorted now, and last month was our first real chance of starting ttc again...it didn't work out. So here I am again. Hubby is very positive about this being the month. He thinks my cycle this last month has been more 'normal' and he may be right because I definitely ovulated yesterday, on CD14 which is spot on for me... So now the wait begins...

HolyShmoly · 19/08/2017 17:33

Thanks. I don't mind spending extra, it feels like the ic's were a waste of money though. I'm sure you'll start realising soon once your belly starts making itself known or the sickness kicks in!

IfeelFloopy · 19/08/2017 15:45

I know that the digital test is much more expensive but I only used 2 test strips before my smiley face so 3 in total. In theory that could have lasted me for 3 months of testing which works out not too bad in my opinion.

Fingers crossed for you this time around Holy. I still don't feel pregnant. It's weird Confused

HolyShmoly · 19/08/2017 14:37

Fab, thanks. If this month doesn't work out then I think I'll try them next month. I'm back in the 2ww again so fingers crossed and socks on!

IfeelFloopy · 19/08/2017 12:56

No I just went straight to clearblue digital tests. I have read lots of posts over the past few months about ovulation and to me IC looked too confusing. Whereas the digital one gave me a clear answer.

I looked up online the cheapest shop seller which seemed to be wilco and ended up buying the tester that pin points your 2 most fertile days only.

I started testing on the cd the leaflet said to (apparently some ppl start testing way too soon and it confuses the result) and DTD for the next 2 days. It says to use fmu for cb tests...apparently others are supposed to be done in the afternoon...but I'm often up for a wee in the night so waited until afternoon to do the tests each time. So long as you haven't been for 4 hours the leaflet says it's ok to test.

HolyShmoly · 18/08/2017 22:01

@ifeelfloopy did you use the IC ovulation strips before trying the clearblue ones? I tried the IC this month but haven't really got on with them. The only time I got much of a line at all was using fmu and I don't think i'll get a true positive using it just once a day.

IfeelFloopy · 16/08/2017 08:29

Thank you waiting. Feels so weird being congratulated...it feels as though I'm reading it for someone else when it's aimed at me as it doesn't feel real yet!

Yes the clearblue ovulation tests are great! I only used 3 and here I am! I'd definitely recommend them after my experience.

I have been thinking about moving to the pregnancy threads but actually (and this is going to sound weird) haven't yet told a single soul in real life that I got my bfp. Not even DP! After reading so many posts about chemical pregnancies and knowing how common it is to also miscarry I am so cautious. I just want to wait to actually miss my period first until I tell anyone. Dp said that he would like me to find out first and surprise him with it anyway so if all goes well I'm trying to think of a cool way of doing it Smile

Sorry I've been absent gang, I've been on holiday, it was lovely but the nausea has moved on to vomiting so I'm not feeling my best! Also have had my booking appointment today which was fine except for the bloods 💉💉💉

Sorry to those who have had bad news this month, I hope next month brings you more luck.

Floopy that's amazing news! I'm glad the Clearblue ovulation tests worked out for you, I really rate them! Will you be going onto the first time pregnancy thread? They're all strangers to me so would be nice too keep up with someone I "know"!

Mollybear12 · 15/08/2017 19:58

I'm defo having a heavy period, I'm so angry with the world and the bad year I've had, every blow just makes me think I won't move on from losing my baby Boy in may, I'm going to delete all these apps and things and try and not think about it (yeh right),
Good luck everyone, fingers crossed for you all xx

Polly85 · 15/08/2017 19:44

@MrsMamaG2016 I hate the sight of a FRER bfn. They are just so white and blank Sad sorry to hear that this prob isn't your month, it wasn't mine either Flowers

LMX0 · 14/08/2017 23:27

MrsMamaG2016 · 14/08/2017 16:28

Apparently frer give a lot of false results either way and aren't reliable because of the indent in them... so I would.. I hope you get a bfp soon Hun and thank you @LMX0 xx

LMX0 · 14/08/2017 16:19

Im gonna try a clearblue then i was using ones i got off amazon but a bit sick of seeing one line tho (not preg)!! Fingers crossed for you!!

MrsMamaG2016 · 14/08/2017 16:12

I'm going to get one more different brand of test because just read up and frer have had a lot of bad reviews lately so going to try and see if any others pick it up like the Sainsbury's. I am 4 days late so fingers crossed ... congratulations previous poster x

IfeelFloopy · 14/08/2017 15:59

Thank you LM Smile

LMX0 · 14/08/2017 15:48

Awww congrats floppy!!

IfeelFloopy · 14/08/2017 15:31

I have been wanting to post for a few days with my usual symptom spotting but thought I was imagining things again. Woke up feeling dizzy this morning and poas for the first time rather than waiting for af. Just got 2 lovely clear positives! Not that it has yet sunk in!

This is the first month I used clearblue digital ovulation tests and I think we have that to thank this month! (Thanks Waiting for the suggestion)! As well as the evening primrose I started taking.

Trying not to get excited yet but I just wanted to come back to update.

DP is at work and I want to surprise him with the results

Jumping on the crazy train for the first time... ALL ABOARD FOR THE 2WW!
Mollybear12 · 14/08/2017 14:49

Ffs! Light pink stuff on tissue, must be start of af! As test was negative 😣😢

LMX0 · 14/08/2017 12:00

Aww mrs thats so annoying see that what scares me and keeps giving me false hope so many people are saying it didnt pick up can you not go and get a blood test done?

MrsMamaG2016 · 14/08/2017 10:15

Well Sainsbury's said I was and now frer say I'm not ... 4 days late... no sign of anything to say my period is coming... so really fed up ... when I was pregnant with my son thou no test picked it up till I was 6-7 weeks and clearblue didn't find him till I was 18 weeks ... so just gonna write this month off

LMX0 · 14/08/2017 08:31

Going to try and leave it until the weekend if i can its really hard tho i just wanna know!! Awk mollybear 😞 i hope you get a BFP soon try snd leave it as long as you can but as i said i know its super hard x

Mollybear12 · 14/08/2017 07:09

Lmxo hope your feeling okay, when r you testing?
I've just got another negative, I'm on cd 26, period normally cd 25, af hadn't come yet, but even if I was a few days out then the test would pick it up wouldn't it, this is so stressful, I don't think I'm going to test again till next weekend if I've not come on by then, this is consuming every minute, and it has done since I lost teddy in April, feel Like I'm in permenant limbo 😞 x
