Jumping on the crazy train for the first time... ALL ABOARD FOR THE 2WW!

Firstly I must apologise to all you mumsnetters... I've been a lurker for a while and have never understood the craziness surrounding the 2WW until today! Have literally just ovulated yesterday on our first round of TTC and I've already been symptom spotting/furiously checking and rechecking my calendar and Ovia app like a pro!

Logically I know that there is literally no chance of any symptoms yet and DEFINITELY no need to POAS for the next 10 days at least, but there's another (much louder it seems) part of me that keeps thinking that the reason I'm so bloated/gassy (seriously what is up with that?!) or keep dropping my keys/knocking everything over or these cramps are obviously due to the fact I must be pregnant 🤦🏻‍♀️.

So to stop me going completely around the bend, I thought I'd ask if anyone is due to POAS around the 21st of July? If so, do you want to wait with me? All those who have done this before, feel free to leave me tips on how not to think about this 24/7!

I'm wondering if pg vitamins and better diet change hormone balance (for better), resulting in different hormone-y symptoms from normal? I definitely felt 'different' last month but got BFN. I've been trying to eat lots of foods to boost progesterone levels, which is bound to have impact on how I feel, whether pg or not! Just at beginning of 2WW for me so going to try and keep as busy as poss!

HolyShmoly · 16/07/2017 15:04

Father of the Bride 2 is on tv, probably not the best viewing choice.

HolyShmoly · 16/07/2017 15:03

Thanks Waiting, I'm trying not to get too down about it and I won't know for certain until AF comes, I just won't be getting my hopes up.
Grumpy, have you got a day in mind for when you're going to test again?
When is everyone else testing?

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 14:31

Still sounds promising Grumpy!

OP posts:
TheGrumpySquirrel · 16/07/2017 14:22

Usually 30 but sometimes can be longer by a couple of days

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 13:59

How many days is your cycle normally Grumpy? I've seriously been thinking that somehow we can trick our bodies into producing symptoms! My boobs feel huge too but that's a standard AF symptom for me 😔.

OP posts:
TheGrumpySquirrel · 16/07/2017 13:54

CD30 here and boobs are unmistakably heavy feeling on top. I can't be imagining all this, can I?

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 13:50

I do have a Fitbit but I haven't been wearing it just lately 😬 You never know HolyShmoly, keep your chin up until AF shows! Sorry to hear about DP's grandmother.

At the moment I'm pretty sure all my symptoms are going to be a figment of my imagination. Really not convinced but I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Love the name Crampazon - if we could make it a reality we'd be rich!

OP posts:
HolyShmoly · 16/07/2017 13:26

Have any of you got fitbit? I've looked at my resting heart rate and you can see that it goes up a little at ovulation and drops again after, so I'm guessing that's another sign that nothing's happening for me this month. I feel frustrated at myself for getting so worked up about it straight away but it's so hard not to.
DH's grandma has just died yesterday too so I wish I could give him good news next week, but there's always next month.
Waiting, your symptoms sound very promising.

I'm 100% on board of the crampazon updates on your cycle and whether you've conceived.

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 12:40

Yeah Floopy I think half of my worry is that DH will be disappointed too as he's already convinced I'm pregnant. It doesn't help that I cried yesterday when he got his old motorbike out of the garage that he used to visit me on when we first got together in uni 😭 I cried then had a little tantrum and he was like "what's the matter" and I just shouted "I DON'T WANT TO BE CRYING". Seriously I'm unhinged - somebody take me away!

OP posts:
IfeelFloopy · 16/07/2017 12:21

It's so difficult to ignore isn't it. I'm feeling a lot of things that I want to tell DP but stop myself because at the same time I feel like it's not our month.

Admittedly I remember having a few cycles when I was single where I thought...had I of been having sex I'd be convinced that I was pregnant due to feeling phantom symptoms.

Different coloured urine if you've conceived really would be so much more convenient!

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 11:56

Mummy I'm right there with you on the symptoms front! I was starving this morning then felt like I was going to be sick halfway through breakfast! A part of me thinks I really must be pregnant otherwise I need to start worrying about what's going on with my body! 😂😂😂

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 11:53

Hi there Chook 👋🏻 I was determined not to be crazy too but here I am.... we're all a little bit crazy on this thread! Hope it helps you keep your craziness under control!

OP posts:
MummysMaison · 16/07/2017 11:52

I really want to test but I know what the answer will be lol!

I'm urinating a lot more than usual (DH calls me a camel as I hardly ever go!) and everything tastes very salty. I was eating my favourite snack earlier today and couldn't finish it as it tasted too salty. But then maybe it's just all in my head and I'm being extra vigilant looking for things! I had a lot of cramps around CD14 which lasted for 2 days. No idea what that was! I usually get a twinge when I ovulate but guess what.......this month felt nothing! Grrr what's going on, I just want to fast forward this week!

Have you had any symptoms?
Xx

Chooklass · 16/07/2017 11:38

This thread is so reassuring! Glad I'm not the only one obsessing over tiniest (possibly imagined) symptoms. 2nd cycle trying and only 3DPO but determined to be less crazy than last month ...

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 11:34

Welcome Mummy! I'm CD23 and have already tested and got BFN! I know it's too early and it bums me out to see a negative but it's like I'm possessed! Have you had any symptoms?

OP posts:
MummysMaison · 16/07/2017 11:23

Hello ladies. I'm currently on CD21. One more week left 😩 I need to sit on my hands!!

Justwaitingforaline · 16/07/2017 10:31

Yes, exactly like that! or maybe your wee could be a different colour if 'that time' had been the one that worked...

Is that too much to ask?!

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 09:48

😂😂😂 JustWaiting! Maybe it could be like when you order from Amazon...

"Your package has been dispatched" maybe for ovulation?!

Then

"Delivery confirmed" for implantation?! 😂😂😂

OP posts:
Justwaitingforaline · 16/07/2017 09:37

4DPO and I am feeling rubbish! I've been cramping since O, have a horrible cold and back ache...

Wouldn't it be so nice to just receive a text if you managed to conceive or not? Grin

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 01:01

I worry too when I feel "normal" Cuppa, but once the BFP's start rolling in you'll be wishing to feel normal again I'm sure! I'm so certain that I'm out because surely I would notice something other than the AF symptoms but if people can go their whole pregnancy without realising they're pregnant (at least according to the tv!) then how could we possibly know a week after fertilisation?!

Did you enjoy your honeymoon? Where did you go?

OP posts:
CuppaTea86 · 16/07/2017 00:37

Travelling home from our honeymoon and I feel completely normal again Sad. Actually sad that don't feel sick!
ive been reminding myself that it's possible to feel nothing in early stages and still get a positive test. I won't be testing until 10 dpo at the earliest if I can possibly help it!

WaitingTillJuly17 · 15/07/2017 18:07

Well I'm still rocking the AF cramps and it doesn't help that I'm sure I can feel it coming (if you know what I mean without being too graphic!). Also a bit tender in the boob department but like Grumpy - I'm not sure that it isn't my imagination!

Sorry you're not feeling to great HolyShmoly, hope you feel better soon!

OP posts:
TheGrumpySquirrel · 15/07/2017 17:42

I don't even know if I'm just imagining it all now. I THINK my boobs are sore but I've thought about it too much!!

HolyShmoly · 15/07/2017 17:35

Well there's zero point in me trying to symptom spot as I've had a not great stomach and that pre-period crampy feeling off and on all month. DH has had to go away suddenly and in my boredom I've already researched baby books/pregnancy bujos, maternity wear, exercise to do when pregnant, what to bring to the hospital and several other things! I think I need to find a new room to decorate or something to keep my mind off this!
