Jumping on the crazy train for the first time... ALL ABOARD FOR THE 2WW!

Firstly I must apologise to all you mumsnetters... I've been a lurker for a while and have never understood the craziness surrounding the 2WW until today! Have literally just ovulated yesterday on our first round of TTC and I've already been symptom spotting/furiously checking and rechecking my calendar and Ovia app like a pro!

Logically I know that there is literally no chance of any symptoms yet and DEFINITELY no need to POAS for the next 10 days at least, but there's another (much louder it seems) part of me that keeps thinking that the reason I'm so bloated/gassy (seriously what is up with that?!) or keep dropping my keys/knocking everything over or these cramps are obviously due to the fact I must be pregnant 🤦🏻‍♀️.

So to stop me going completely around the bend, I thought I'd ask if anyone is due to POAS around the 21st of July? If so, do you want to wait with me? All those who have done this before, feel free to leave me tips on how not to think about this 24/7!

Weird development here. I thought I was out due to 2 days of spotting and cramps, but then just got these. What do you think? They are cheap Amazon ones, so I don't know if they often have evap lines?

@Grumpy perhaps a hint of a squinter - do you have any pink dye tests?

TheGrumpySquirrel · 18/07/2017 18:47

Still no AF. Anyone see a line on this?

@HellsBells35 I've taken up knitting as a distraction! 😂 I'm only 28! And my consolation prize for getting AF is a glass of wine, and a morning coffee.
This month however, since I'm not preggers I can attend my smear. Yay. FML. #worstconsolationprizeever

MummysMaison · 18/07/2017 15:57

I've resigned myself to the fact I'm not pregnant then if I am I can only be happy! Whether or not I actually remember this when I donget AF is another thing! I'm on CD24 and considering testing even though I know I shouldn't. Yesterday I had some twinges on my left side low down.....spent an hour googling implantation cramps Blush. What day does implantation normally happen? I'm a regular 28 days, ov usually around day 14.

Hellsbells35 · 18/07/2017 14:21

I'm trying hard not to read into tiredness, sickness etc...and think I should hold off testing until missed period. Does anyone have any strategies for coping with disappointment if/when period arrives?

HolyShmoly · 18/07/2017 11:09

So much for me keeping calm. I've just checked my heart rate and it's showing an increase in the last couple days which probably means absolutely nothing but now it's got me obsessing again! It's way too early to read anything into it. This whole thing is a rollercoaster and I don't bloody like rollercoasters!

WaitingTillJuly17 · 18/07/2017 07:33

Hi there Hellsbells 👋 Sorry about your chemical, feel free to vent all you like here!

Yes Cuppa, that is early (but I did the exact same 🙄) I also said I would wait 48 hours since that first one but when you've done it once it's so easy to keep testing 😂.

I'm not sure but I might have had the FAINTEST of squinters on a FRER this morning (can't even see it on a photo). Does anyone know if evap lines come up within the allowed time or is it just if they're left too long? Might have to test again later this afternoon!

CuppaTea86 · 17/07/2017 23:26

I caved and did an internet cheapy pink dye test this morning- BFN as expected, 8/9dpo.
Plan to wait 48hours and just sit on my hands tomorrow (unlikely I'll have the willpower!)
I hope we have a few bfps between us all! Positive thinking!

HolyShmoly · 17/07/2017 23:14

Hi Hellsbells, welcome to the group. Sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy, hopefully this month will go better for you.

Hellsbells35 · 17/07/2017 22:29

Do you mind if I join? Currently in 2WW about 11 dpo. Had chemical pregnancy last month. Got positive test and then period came 2 days later. It was heartbreaking as in those 2 days I had started to think it might happen. I don't want to put my husband through that again so would rather discuss on here. Feeling really tired today and pressure in uterus but could be nothing. No sickness yet like last time. But that started 12 DPO

Bumpkin21 · 17/07/2017 22:04

Yeah I don't usually tell DH, but he knows when it's about the right time. (And I don't want him to know how many I waste!)

WaitingTillJuly17 · 17/07/2017 20:53

At least there's no AF yet Grumpy so that last FRER might still bring you some good news!

I haven't told DH when I'm testing, firstly because it feels like so much pressure and secondly because then he'd know how crazy I am with the tests I've done so far! He does look at me strangely though if I say I'm feeling a bit ill or my boobs hurt so I think he's quite aware that it's nearly crunch time.

HolyShmoly · 17/07/2017 19:11

Flame, I plan on doing it when DH is in the house with me, so will tell him. This might change if the months go on though.
I've no symptoms to tell at the moment, but I'm normally fairly open with him so I'd say I will be whining away at him when I do.

TheFlame · 17/07/2017 18:59

out of interest, do people tell their partners' when they are testing? do you tell/ do they ask about symptoms etc? I don't tend to say anything as it would seem a little bit weird to go into so much detail about if I am feeling bloated twingy, etc

TheGrumpySquirrel · 17/07/2017 18:20

Bought two more and already wasted one at work this morning. Ffs. BFN. My only hope is that I might only be 11DPO and have implanted late.

Cervix is low but soft and lotiony cm not dry and sticky like pre AF. Cd31. And the waiting game continues

TheGrumpySquirrel · 17/07/2017 06:16

Temp still high and no sign of AF which makes it late. Going to buy more FRER today

WaitingTillJuly17 · 17/07/2017 06:13

Well it's still a bfn for me, but I'm only 8/9 dpo so will just leave it for a couple of days and keep my fingers crossed 🤞🏻. 6 days before a missed period yeah right FRER! Booooooo!

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 21:16

😂😂😂 Grumpy! Lloyds have the two pack for £8.99 or even better, Amazon have them for £7.80. It's times like this I'm glad to have Prime, I'll never be more than a day from having them delivered to my door! Lol!

OP posts:
TheGrumpySquirrel · 16/07/2017 21:08

CD31 tomorrow.. hope AF stays away in which case I need to go and buy more FRER because I already used six this TWW.. yes, 6... the shame 😳

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 21:02

Just back from A&E, DH is sore and needs minor surgery in his nail bed but otherwise ok thank God!

Hope you got your pizza Floopy! How dare the oven get between a hormonal woman and her food!

HolyShmoly my cycles are generally 28 days, I'm thinking given today's bad luck I might get a bit lucky with a FRER tomorrow 🤞 Cramping has disappeared today so hopefully a good sign!

Oh Cuppa, Jamaica must have been AMAZING! And a prime opportunity for BD'ing! I have to admit it's hard to make time when you're both busy but as it's early days I'm sure you'll find the time 😉

OP posts:
CuppaTea86 · 16/07/2017 20:28

Waiting - we went to Jamaica for our honeymoon and it was so relaxing. Have definitely overindulged but will be ignoring the scales for a week or so as most of the tummy bulge is water retention im sure Grin.
I managed to time my cycle spot on for the holiday so had AF week or so before we left, then my presumed OD was bang in the middle. Managed to dtd quite a lot of the days in my fertile period according to ovia so I hope counts for something even though I feel nothing abnormal and it's now CD8. Tbh we both have busy tiring jobs so I can't imagine being able to be that 'active' next cycle so in a way this felt like optimum conditions- sigh!
I can see it working out that our BFP will eventually come unexpectedly in a cycle where we only manage to do it once Grin

IfeelFloopy · 16/07/2017 19:36

Alright, pretty sure I'm out this month. We're away at the moment, DP has gone out for a while and I can't figure out how this stupid oven works. I got angry and then wanted to cry! PMS for me at its best 🙄. I just want my damn pizza!

glares at oven

IfeelFloopy · 16/07/2017 16:43

Holy - my cycle is usually either 27 or 28 days. I'll be testing if I'm a day or 2 late.

Eek waiting, hope your DH is ok

WaitingTillJuly17 · 16/07/2017 16:24

Oh yeah, I was watching Father of the Bride (before I've had to drive DH to A&E for a DIY related incident 😓😑) I was amazed how quickly they went into labour and gave birth... the magic of Hollywood I guess?!

That's interesting Chooklass, what have you been eating?
