Et voila.

This Hut is more of a Bedouin or desert tent than anything too gloomy. We shall supply our our own gloom.

Oh duchesse, poor you, I don't know everyone's stories cos not been here long enough but is sounds like you have had a hard time of it.
for you too LNO

duchesse · 28/03/2007 22:43

Curiosity, yes. I'm trying to imagine what it would be like still to be there. Deep down I know it's just as well I miscarried when I did, rather than later or actually give birth to a fatally damaged child (it is likely that the miscarriage was due to anencephaly, where the brain and skull fail to develop properly). Not really morbid though since it's about birth and babies.

That must be really hard duchesse. I guess some kind of morbid curiosity keeps pulling you back to the thread as well.

duchesse · 28/03/2007 21:32

A four-day break, lissie. Impressive will power.

Where is everybody though? It's awfully quiet in here. I wanted to share a little wistfulness about all my old ante-natal thread babies being born... I am happy for them though. I know Vlad wasn't healthy enough to make it.

lissielouwithbunnyears · 28/03/2007 16:55

hi all, have had an mn break, are you all well?

Cryptonomicon · 28/03/2007 16:18

I don't have Colin to offer I am afraid but I do have a lovely speciman of the Kiwi variety, very useful for all DIY and IT related problems (just don't tell him you are ovulating or you will be out of luck )

duchesse · 28/03/2007 12:55

And re partner swap: anyone want a slightly nerdy scientist with good diy skills but limited emotional iq? Will swap for Colin Firth.

OP posts:
duchesse · 28/03/2007 12:54

Sorry to hear that, LNO. I believe that many people do several rounds before it's successful. Obviously budgetary constraints come into play at some point.

How about Big Brother style evictions from the hut? If we are forced out maybe our eggs will be forced out in sympathy?
Actually forget that - eviction from the hut with anything other than a BFP is too depressing for me -I need the refuge!! - unless there was a secondary Pit of Gloom to move to!

seaside72 · 28/03/2007 10:12

LNO - so so sorry about th BFN

Cryptonomicon · 28/03/2007 09:44

Really sorry to hear that LNO.

Impatience · 28/03/2007 09:38

crossed posts with you, LNO. So sorry it's negative. So sorry. Take care of yourself xxx

Impatience · 28/03/2007 09:37

Re: more likely to conceive with someone other than partner. Why don't you all get together and swap!

Good luck LNO.

LatenightOwl · 28/03/2007 09:34

Hi Folks, well I think eviction from the hut is not very simple is it? Got a BFN today and yet no AF. The clinic reckon the AF has been prevented by the prostogen (?spelling) meds so will stop these today and see what happens.

Thanks for all your kind words of encouragement and help over the last month - don't think I would have remained sane without it...will now slink off to cosy room in house and have a few sad moments then onto the wine / drink I think to get wrecked before we consider our next move. (lno slinks out of the hut with bowed head)

LNO - fingers crossed for you tomorrow.

Soreheart · 27/03/2007 20:36

The Firth - obviously. Definite 'no' to Swampy, that's changed the tone of my potential giggy gigolo fantasy, somewhat. Apologies for that twist.

BTW Latenightowl should be testing after IVF tomorrow.

I've just thought, the characters could resemble our nicknames.... which is not so bad for the Duchesse but a bit wierd for me or Seaside72 . Maybe I'll change my nickname to Amazinglyglamorousforherage.

I'm having Asterix the Gaul flashbacks now.

duchesse · 27/03/2007 20:17

plus am trying to imagine a "shaggy gigolo". I'm hoping you don't mean Swampy under a new guise...

OP posts:
duchesse · 27/03/2007 20:16

Obviously the Firth would have to feature as one of the gigolos.

OP posts:
Soreheart · 27/03/2007 19:55

Oddly (and most spookily) I thought I might even have spotted a potential gigolo just the other day . Double oddly, it does seem that it might just happen with a shaggy gigolo - cos it's not what we're really after. Er, if that makes sense .

But would be delighted to split proceeds of Marian Keyes-alike novella, Duchesse!!
If we're smart we can get the whole serialised at the same time.
We could do it in the style of ooohh whatshername that did the Fat Club drama on ITV? Or the ladies football team. Hmm.. a bit 'lite' entertainment for the topic but food for thought. The book would, of course, be shed loads better. Ahem. Oooh we could have full casting rights over the film.

duchesse · 27/03/2007 19:06

Well, my old antenatal thread have just started popping out babies right left and centre.

Bovvered?

lottie - God - that is a bit freaky (twilight zone music I think )

seaside72 · 27/03/2007 18:22

PMSL duchesse - I think you suggested it to me after my DH's mid cycle flop!!

Gosh, Soreheart, what an excellent idea. We could all divvy up the book proceeds and buy ourselves some gigolos to do the deed...

duchesse · 27/03/2007 18:19

at seaside. I did suggest that to someone on here some time ago.
