Et voila.

This Hut is more of a Bedouin or desert tent than anything too gloomy. We shall supply our our own gloom.

pmsl, youve a psych degree? i want to do a counselling one!

not weird at all. i just put too many now. we were ttc ds for 6y but now i know what its like im sure i had at least 3mcs in that time. im just fed up of my shitty useless body not doing what its supposed too! fgs all those years worrying about condoms splitting, the pill being missed etc and its just wasted energy!

Chocolatedays · 02/05/2007 21:27

Yeah, Yeah, I know i'm a freak.

Chocolatedays · 02/05/2007 21:23

I used to go on the temp charting threads but it became the norm to write how many cycles you'd been ttc. +30 just became to damn depressing.

Lissie - I understand why you have to show your face... and I understand it will be incredibly hard. New borns are a killer fro me - I'm ok ish when they start to show personality, but when they could frankly be any old baby I simply want them to be mine.

I'm wracking my mind to try and come up with some visualisation that may help...eg. can you imagine the baby looks like one of the grumpy men off the Muppets - a laughable, bizarre thing. (sorry if this is too off the wall for you - it's my psychology degree popping out!)

lissielou · 02/05/2007 21:19

i told my stepmum who told me that my sisters 17yo 1/2 sis was 4m pg and didnt know who the dad was then told me that im too tense about the whole thing exactly what they did to remove my ep then what it felt like to mc then what would happen in my HSG. she soon shut up

Chocolatedays · 02/05/2007 21:16

PMSL

lissielou · 02/05/2007 21:12

my favourite reply to the relax crew is "you relax when the doctor knows more about your sex life than you do and your bits need a revolving door for all the fecking doctors who peer at them"

Janus · 02/05/2007 21:09

Oh Lissie, do you really have to go? Do you know sometimes you just have to look after yourself and sod doing 'what you should'. I couldn't face it. I've been ttc for about 15 months and my bf has just given birth 2 weeks ago. She does live hundreds of miles away so seeing her is not so easy but I find it hard even ringing and hearing the baby in the background! My next door neighbour is 10 days away so soon I will hear it crying through the wall, aggrrhh!
I'm on my new theory of chinese approach, currently doing accupunture and cupping! Frig, I'm fed up of a new approach every few months, shouldn't it just bloody happen? I'm not even bothering with ttc threads, can't stand being the only one on there for months or years.
Had another friend say 'just relax, it will happen', asked her if she could suggest how to relax when I'm this far down the line, poor girl !

lissielou · 02/05/2007 21:06

the main reason (from my mw after my 2nd mc) is for dating, but a mc is a big thing emotionally and physically. even early mcs. tbh its when you feel up to it. but you must feel ready. you are at youre most fertile after youve been pg BUT there is a slightly higher risk of another mc. are you seeing a consultant?

tbh tho, i feel that if we give up now, or even take a break then our beans died for nothing. but thats just my take on it.

beansprout · 02/05/2007 21:01

Ouch Lissie - that is harsh. It's one thing to know about it but another to have to go and congratulate her. You don't have to go if you can't face it. I wouldn't expect anyone to come and congratulate me if it was painful for them to do so.

I'm ok, generally. Have managed to get back into positive mode. I fear that the crunch will come if we don't get lucky this month, that's when it will get really hard.

Does anyone else have to listen to the suggestion of "taking a month off"? What's that about?!

lissielou · 02/05/2007 20:59

well , SiL has had a little girl and im feeling really shitty about it. ive lost 5 babies in 18m! its so unfair! sorry iknow im being unreasonable but ive got to go and see them tomorrow and i dont know how i'll cope with it. everyones been asking dh if im ok (which im really not) which makes me feel even worse about being so self-absorbed. will i ever get over this and reach a point where i can actually be happy for new mums? why am i failing so spectacularly at it?

think af is on her way too. whoopee!

sorry beansprout, how are you hun?

and hi to all. fancy joing me in a tequila contest? the first to the worm wins!

beansprout · 02/05/2007 20:57

Farking 'ell, that is one rampant dragon. What sort of knocking shop are you running there (and can she come and be our mascot)?

I've been ttc for nearly a year, so I have a rationale for practically every bloody month in the calendar.
Upshot: I don't care, can I just have a baby please? Pretty please?

Chocolatedays · 02/05/2007 20:54

Oh - and am I the only one who looks at those two threads about planning conception so the baby arrives at 6pm on a chosen date. I think I should have a go at that rather than just feebly stabbing (or fumbling) in the dark month after month.

Chocolatedays · 02/05/2007 20:51

Dare I ask what a bearded dragon is?

(I guess this has already been explained - but I can't be arsed to read through reams of posts - sorry! )

feedmenow · 02/05/2007 20:48

Evening chocolate, evening beaney, I'm still here! The hut has been rather quiet, hasn't it? So we have to assume either everyone is on the antenatel threads or drowning their sorrows to such a degree that they're either too pissed to get to their computer or having their stomachs pumped at A&E
Well, as I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, our pet bearded dragon laid 15 eggs. Now I feel that the possibility of 15 little baby anythings is really rubbing my nose in it, but......get this.....she's pregnant again!! After the first eggs were laid I read up on it and found out that she could possibly lay the next lot 3-4 weeks after the first lot, but didn't really expect it. However, she is DEFINATELY eating for 2 (or should that be 22!) and her belly is expanding daily. So in a couple of months I could be "Granny" to over 30 LO's!!!!!

beansprout · 02/05/2007 20:13

I'm still an old grouch! Am so used to not being pregnant and assuming that I can't/won't be that it took me a whole weekend to get over an early m/c and go back to "hey ho, I'm on the ttc treadmill" which is such familiar territory.

Things that people say when they mean well, no. 596:

"Well, at least you know you can conceive now, so hopefully next time, it will last the course...."

Argghhhhhh!
Pass me the brandy, the chocolate and a baseball bat please

Chocolatedays · 02/05/2007 20:08

The Hut is a bit quiet at the mo. Had been wondering if everyone else had moved onto the ante natal threads.

I do sometimes wonder if I am the longest member to be on the conception threads!

I went for an interview in Nappy Valley today (the bit of London which has the highest concetration of under two yr olds in Europe) OH JOY.

sideways · 02/05/2007 19:32

Well, another day another pregnancy. Just spotted that someone else I see regularly is clearly expecting.

Is it because it is spring?

Crypto - glad you have got the ball rolling. At least you feel as if you are doing something.

And where are all you others? All got your bfp over last few days? Don't leave me here to wallow in other people's pregnancy hormones.

Cryptonomicon · 02/05/2007 10:54

That sucks Sideways. Those 6ww are killers.

I went to the doctors today to ask about getting initial fertility tests and thankfully she was really lovely. She said that statistics were still in our favour for conceiving naturally but she was happy to kick off blood/sperm analysis tests to get the ball rolling as it were.

I don't think Mr Crypto is much looking forward to his part of the process though

sideways · 02/05/2007 10:11

Had a fab day yesterday until evening when I checked my email to find out that yet another friend is pg, expecting no. 2.

And guess what, it was a complete surprise.

And it's only 10 minutes since she gave birth to the first one (well, not really, I'm exaggerating for effect).

And she's a lot younger than me, so now I feel completely useless, like it's never going to happen and I might as well give up and dp was away for pratically all the relevant time this month.

Am fed up.

lissielou · 02/05/2007 07:28

hi all, well, SiL is one day past her edd, wont this baby just fecking come and put me out of my misery?

beansprout, how are you doing? (silly q i know)

seaside and choc, arsenic cake? its shit when everyone else's life plan is going to schedule isnt it?

sideways · 01/05/2007 21:52

Everyone happy today then?

seaside72 · 30/04/2007 22:03

I'm back - jut went and vented my frustrations in a yoga class (not excatly how you are supposed to approach yoga but hey ho - needs must!!)

Chocdays - I am right by the seaside in Cornwall - pretty far down on the north coast - It is wonderful - no moaning about that- and I wouldn't swap my lovely home for my BF's new London pad for all the tea in China -

IKWYM about the baby shower beansprout - in fairness she has asked me and another friend and I guess in a way she is in a no win situation as I think she would feel bad not asking me to be invloved? All I can think about is being at that shower in 4 months time and not being pg myself - OMG - it is only 4 months away -we have been TTC for 14 months now - another 4 is prob going to make no diff at all FFS I am going to have to down the entire bottle of flower essence tonight (the White Chestnut that is supposed to help with the feelings of BITTERNESS!! and the entire bottle of brandy as a chaser!

Chocolatedays · 30/04/2007 20:02

Sorry if that is not what you want from the hut - but I needed to get that rant off my chest.

Chocolatedays · 30/04/2007 20:00

Hi Beansprout - how are you doing. I know some would call what you have been through as a chemical pg but I think the phrase demeans what you are going through. I m/c is a m/c - and I am so sorry you are having to go through it - my heart goes out to you.

beansprout · 30/04/2007 19:45

Bit of flower remedy for me too please!

Sorry, but I think asking you to organise a baby shower, given that she knows about your circumstances, is a bit off

lol at "predict a riot"
