Hi thats it really. If there is anyone who is about to start a new cycle with clomid, can you please be my friend?
This will be my first try on clomid, I have pcos, and started af today after a horrible 48 day cycle.
But af is here, hurray! which means i can start on the magic beans tomorrow.
So if you would like chat and hand holding too, please sign in here.
Im thinking good sense of humour, sympathy, and patience will be a must

Fingers crossed, PCM.

OK, fianally spoke to consultant's secretary who had spoken to him. She said that it was fine and just to keep going. She said to make sure to take a pg test before next round of clomid, just to be on the safe side. But he said that the light AF was Ok. I'm not convinced, but I do trust him. So onwards and upwards. So I am now on 3rd cycle of clomid. Feeling terribly weepy and a it down- I'm sure partially the pills and partly life! But will stay positive and hope for the best this time!

Good luck to all.

MamaMaiasaura · 09/05/2007 09:40

Hi.....Thanks for the blog links, sounds like you had a chaotic day with Nugget floss!! Hope he is better and laying off the duck fat for a while!
Been to watch "the bridge to terabithia" - had tears running down my face for at least 20 mins near the end (obviously was not crying you understand!) Must be feeling extra hormonal...
Well the little "something" this morning was deffo not af, she is firmly staying away. Must have just been a little blip. I am being a brave girl and Not Reading Anything Into It Whatsoever.
chat laters
xxxxxxx hugs and love to all xxxxxx

Hi all- just waiting to hear from consultant. I love his secretary! She is very calm and makes me feel better and we shared a moan about how c--p by GP is. I haven't yet got a new one, but doing so this week.

I am on CD4 of round 3 of clomid.

Hope everyone is well. PCM- here is hoping AF does stay away and this is just something else!

flosspot · 08/05/2007 12:56

2nd cycle of clomid, indeed, though because have cycle of 40 days, you guys are getting ahead of me!

minxi · 08/05/2007 11:37

PCM am on day 16, 2nd cycle of clomid...am temping as well to see what is happening although none the wiser...

pussycatmomma · 08/05/2007 11:31

hiya everyone...
flosspot how glamorous!! a bolt-hole from london no less, even with a bucket-flush loo, it will be grand in the end
(((tmi alert!)))....cd20 here. Think af is imminent, had some pinky pre-af type mucus after id been for a wee, and then a few drops of what looked like early, watery blood. Very early for me though, normally i am in the 30's part of the cycle before af arrives. Cant remember having her come to stay on cd 20something!
Will keep you all posted.
floss is this your 2nd cycle of clomid?
this is my 2nd, coming up to 3rd next time, and lulu i think has just started her 3rd.
Hope you are all well ......
xxxxx

Lulu, sweetie, wait until you speak to the doc (got the new one sorted yet?)Have to say nothing has changed for me since Clomid started- 4.5 days, 2 very heavy, 2 pretty ordinary, or thereabouts. So no help!! Thinking of you though.

Hey Awen, like the porn-star thing...trade-off for allthe hard work DH put in!

PCM- believe it or not spent the weekend in a house with bugger all plumbing. Flush the loo with a bucket, use larger bucket to wash in etc. Will eventually be our 'bolt-hole' out of London. Not ideal. But at long last have stopped spending EVERY weekend in B&Q.[

How is everyone generally? CD18 here. Bugger all to report. No evidence of Ov. but BD a couple of times just in case.Had discussion with DH about going at it hardcore and decided to from CD20. Fingers crossed!

pussycatmomma · 07/05/2007 21:18

sorry forgot to ask, minxi what cd are you on?

OP posts:
pussycatmomma · 07/05/2007 21:17

minxi, my af was very similar to yours.
Very sudden bright red bleeding for couple of days then very very slight, light brown marks on my knicks (so sorry if tmi)
It is different to af without clomid. Af without clomid is normally light brown, light bleeding for first few days, then heavy bright red loss for 4-5 days afterwards.
Got to say i agree with cogs on this one, tinternet is a wonderful tool for bringing us all together and to help us find out more and thus empower ourselves.......but ive lost count of the times my dh has diagonsed himself with leukimaia or a brain tumour
((he hasn't either by the way - thank the good Lord!!))
How has everyones bank holiday been? We spent much of ours in homebase and b&q
dh putting all his efforts into creating a "zen garden" at side of house..........goodness knows why, we have a perfectly tranquil garden with a huge deck and lots of space for lounging, but this is "his" project, and woe betide i halt progress!!! (although rain and fading daylight has now stopped play and we are about to eat dinner)

Good luck to you, Minxi. sounds like yours is pretty similar to mine. It has been so helpful just to hear other people's experiences.

minxi · 07/05/2007 21:06

Lulu my af is normally fairly light with the first couple of days brown/red spotting etc...on my first month of clomid last month when af came it was bright red - no spotting just medium-heavy for 1 day then lighter and was gone within 3 days....I was quite pleased I think....hopefully it doesn't turn up this month! good luck !

lulu1414 · 07/05/2007 20:41

Thanks, everyone. It is funny because I am always going on about how one shouldn't freak oneself out because you can't believe everything on the Internet and here I am doing it myself! I guess I feel so wound up about it all and upset at the ongoing frustration and not knowing! That is interesting that your AF was light too, coggy. Did the doc say that it was OK? I will see what the consultant says tomorrow (if I can get through to him!).

PCM- is your AF pretty normal?

coggy · 07/05/2007 19:36

Oh.....and also important to add is that I am NOT a flapper at all.
I am pretty relaxed most of the time and tend not to worry unduly about anything.

The Internet really got me going on a few occassions however!!!

coggy · 07/05/2007 19:34

Lulu....my AF went pretty light on clomid and it seemed to work okay for me (after I finished taking it I fell pg....because of it sorting out my cycle I'm sure).

Sometimes the things we find out on the Internet are unnecessarily scary.
I have previously convinced myself that I had bowel cancer (piles when pg with ds) and a rare blood condition which could mean I could die at any time if needing a transfusion because my blood would reject all others!!!

Now I realise that I am most definitelt NOT a medical phenomenon and try not to look much up!

Hope you get sorted out.
X

pussycatmomma · 07/05/2007 19:24

ahhhh lulu....just wanted to say am sorry you are having a few probs. Just caught up on this thread. Is your af very light all way through? Had not heard of this prob prev to chocolatedays post.
Hope you manage to get in touch with your cons, let us know what the alternatives are for you.
sending you lots of good vibes xxxx

lulu1414 · 07/05/2007 14:20

Just to let you know I started a new thread just to see if I could get any advice about light AF. I've been doing a bit of research and it looks like this probably means clomid not for me. I guess it is thinning my lining too much. Will call doctor tomorrow, but don't know if I should not bother taking the second pill tonight. Argghhh! And I thought things would get easier once prescribed clomid!

lulu1414 · 07/05/2007 10:10

Thanks for your advice everyone. I will call doc tomorrow. Choc- what happened with you? How light was your AF on clomid?

Awen- good to hear your symptoms are kicking in. Very exciting.

PCM- sorry you are feeling a bit blue. I totally understand. I am feeling the same way. Find it all a bit stressful as wasn't sure if I had a proper AF and whether or not to start on pills again. I decided to go ahead and took the first pill last night. So I am on CD3. So the shagfest will start in earnest when DH comes home from his latest trip.

MamaMaiasaura · 07/05/2007 00:17

just logged on as altho tired cant sleep. PCM - sorry you are feeling a little am sure it is meant to be. JUst taking a bit longer. Love your description of bding.. shagfest

I really hope your sister gets her bfp too. Is frustrating when there are people out there who dont want their children and then those who want them so much and have such a hard time conceiving. xx

Preg symptoms kicking in here. Boobs ache and look like porn stars. Am already very big busted as never went back after ds. They are already starting to expand . Very sensitive and emotional too.. Did another test today 'just to make sure'

Love to you all xx

pussycatmomma · 06/05/2007 22:37

hiya awen, how are you sweetie? hope you are feeling ok. Any prg symptoms started yet? (early i know) Hope you are feeling well and that your lovely news is feeling like a reality for you now.
lulu, what cd you on? didnt know you got af this cycle. (((hugs))
Sorry I dont know anything about the technicalities of af when you are on clomid....but for what its worth, my af was very different last time too. Very heavy, instant bright red bleed but only lasted for a couple of days, then couple of days of very sligt, light bleeding, which looked like could have been "old" blood loss as it was much lighter and browner. sorry if all that tmi, but it is sometimes good to compare. I remember thinking last time that it was quite different. Obviously clomid is the cause but why I dont know. Am cd18today. No idea if have ovulated/will ovulate/or am yet to ovulate. So the shagfest continues!
Been feeling really down today about the whole ttc thing. My sister is also ttc, sadly she is further along her journey than myself, despite 5 ivf attempts, miscarrage following an ectopic, and tubal surgery, she still has no children
I often wonder if this is just not meant to be. For either of us. It is so hard sometimes.
Hope you are all ok .

sorry lulu - dont know the answer to this but will bump for you x

Chocolatedays · 06/05/2007 17:33

Hi Lulu, I'm not on clomid anymore (I was on this thread early on - then I was called Sunshinedays).

In about 10% of women clomid can cause the endo-lining to get thinner (it did this to me). I suggest you need to talk to the doc who prescribed - there are alternatives that are injected but in my area they were not available on NHS.

Good luck.

lulu1414 · 06/05/2007 15:33

Hi all. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I have a question for all of you- have you noticed a difference in AF since you started clomid? My AF last month and this month has felt very light. 2 days of brown spotting, then one day of heavier red blood (sorry, TMI!) and then more light spotting. I know the doc said I didn't have much endemitriol lining, but I thought clomid should have helped with this? What does everyone think?

flosspot · 04/05/2007 12:22

Stick around Awen- you offer a useful perspective and lots of hope!

Lulu- LOL at your DH, wish mine was so inspired! Ditto Awen- stamina or what?
