Roll up, roll up!....Clomid cycle buddy needed please, dont want to do this on my own!

Buttercup - I am on my third clomid cycle....I have been trying for 2.5 years after coming off that depo injection...cycles were okay after about 18 months but lots of spotting at beginning and end of cycle with lp of about 9 - 12 all over the place.

I got seen in March and consultant gave me 6 month supply....
first month...cycle was probably 29 days luteal phase of 12
second month...was 28 days with luteal phase 13
this month, I had a positive opk on Saturday cd13 which means I should have ovulated cd14/15
saw consultant today and he said very positive...
so even if I don't fall pregnant this month my cycles to me are turning into text book cycles....so after 2.5 years thank god for that...
so anyway I would do everything you can to try the clomid as it has helped my lp..
My consultant did say that the first part of your cycle can be different but once you have ovulated it should always be 14 days until your next period which not sure if that is right or wrong as alot of people on here have mixed comments about that...I don't know personally but before I had the depo my periods were always 28 days so we will see if period arrives after 28days this month then lp will be 14...hopefully I wont get af though ....

Thanks flosspot. I'm tempted to get the bloodtest on monday but am worried that he'll question why I had a test on day 26. Mind you I'm not seeing him for another month so maybe he wont check when I had the prog test done and will just look at levels.
He doesn't like the fact that I chart my temp but it's been really useful in finding out why I haven't been conceiving. I'll probably stop once I get going on the clomid though just so I can try and be more relaxed....
Have you been on clomid long and are you ttc your first?

Glad to meet you buttercup. Afraid I have not the first clue about luteal phases as i don't appear to be ovulating at all. my advice would be fudge it to get the results you want....wicked but necessary. We've all waited to long to be messing around.

I'm due to start clomid next cycle - so probably end of next week, and could do with someone to share my worries etc with.
I've got ds who will be 2 end of this month. We conceived him very quickly so was v shocked when it came to light that my cycle has changed since having him leaving me with a luteal phase of 8 or 9 days.
I had my first appt with the gynae 2 weeks ago and he has prescribed clomid but i'm only to take it if my next progesterone test is under 30. The last test (which got me my referral) was 4 days after ovulation and my prog was 26. The problem I've got is that the gynae wants me to have my prog test on day 22 or 23 which is this thurs or fri and I still havent ov'd yet. I am showing all the signs of it (lots of ewcm sorry if tmi) but my temp hasn't gone up yet. I'm worried that if I don't ov until weds and have the test friday my prog level could be quite high (or higher than 30) because it will only be 2 or 3 days after ovulation. If I leave it and dont get my blood test until the monday it might be too close to af arriving. Any ideas on what I should do? I'm desperate to just get going on the clomid so that I can get my luteal phase lengthened and hopefully get pregnant. I'm sorry for such a long first post but I'm feeling really stressed about it all.

Ok, OK, I have bowed to pressure and took my first clomid tablet last night. After long deliberations with DH decided to continue and then go to see the doc to get monitored. I realised if it is, indeed, thinning my lining as I suspect (another 1 day AF) then I realised I should still be on it so the consultant can confirm this. I feel a bit mixed up about it as I feel it is a bit of a lost cause and I really should lay off it to give myself more of a chance, but this is what I am going to do. Just to keep you all updated! Hope everyone is feeling OK. Had another meltdown this am. The exact same thing happened last month on CD2!! I guess the clomid affects my moods more than I thought!

Flosspot, Altho it may seem unlikely will happen it could. I conceived this little beab on CD49. Day 21 (ish) bloods were crap 1.1) Clearly the ovulation was direcft stimulation of Clomid but perhaps it helped/kick started? Not sure as had one natrual AF prior to clomid cycle (first one in a year). Lost weight too as my BMI fell into healthy. I was also on metformin tds. Keeping fingers xd for you as you never know xx. I really didnt expect a BFP

Minxi- don't get excited, cycles 40 plus days, no ew, no signs of ovulation according to Consultant....hoping Clomid will change that, but losing a little faith at the mo!

This is my third cycle and I seem to be having text book symptons....last cycle was 28 days...and this cycle had positive opk yesterday day 13, with lots of ew and ov pains....have been away on holiday so fairly relaxing too... have appointment with consultant tomorrow so will see what he has to say not alot really as I am mid cycle and not alot he can tell me surely?! bit daft really going....

Hi lulu, please dont give up on clomid yet. Have they increased your dose? Have your 21 day bloods been ok? For regular people without PCOS they can take ages. I was told I would be treated up to 12 treatments, I guess if there was strong enough evidence to say after 3 it isnt going to work then why would htey bother with 12 iyswim. Will keep popping in to see how its going if ok.

Lulu-hello- Rachee took 7 cycles (that's a good four more to go for you...)! Must be so frustrating to have seemingly succeeded so quickly last year, yet still be trying. In truth I test every month, despite being certain I'm not pregnant. Lke I keep saying, you are not alone. And for goodness sake be as miserable as you like for as long as you need to be- you've listened to my moaning often enough.

Don't you hate it when that happens... I hate losing posts! Thanks for your thoughts. I guess I just really had my hopes up as it took so long to get to this point. I just can't get it out of my head that I got pregnant last year so quickly and easily- never thought I would still be trying at this point. Desperately trying to stay positive, but it is so tough. Anyway, I promise to bounce back and provide more positive vibes for our little thread! I'm here for you too. At least the sun is shining!

Sweetie, please try not to worry. I was told that if Clkomid didn't work in 6 cycles, it was unlikely to, but could try it again after further investigation (ie: have lap dye test/drilling, then try again.) I know what you mean about being down. I'm there a lot at the moment. It hasn't happened overnight for anyone on this thread. With you every step of the way, wherever it may take us.

Still so pleased at PCM news... a warning- I may be bringing down the mood...

But must admit feeling very low myself. I have had 3 cylces of clomid with no luck. Have to say I thought it would have worked by now. I'm a bit worried as it seems like the info reads that most who are successful will be so in their first 3 cycles. What has everyone else heard? I have decided to lay off the clomid this month and I think will try to get an appointment with the consultant as soon as I can.

cook, clean, do washing, ironing, wash up, hoover.

she is, however, allowed to:

sit with feet up, eat as much as she wants, sleep as late as she wants, and be in sole charge of the remote control. .
