Pussycat - how is the clomid going?

lulu1414 · 28/03/2007 15:28

Hi all- nothing really to add, just wanted to say hi. I am going for a scan on Friday to see what is happening. No news other than that. Hopefully it will be OK and we can get on with things!

MamaMaiasaura · 27/03/2007 23:49

hi pussycat.. go on with the bding u can do it .. lost count this month think BD22!!

CD31 (or CD27 from clomid start). Still no AF wonder wether symptons I was having nausea, sore boobs was cos of ov or just a bug. ANyway bd'd again tonight just in case

No BFP yet but also no AF so no idea if i am lucky or not this cycle.

Butterfly avoid Vit A Not good to take when ttc - i take pregnacare stuff (tescos own variety tho as cheaper and same stuff)

I have been a right cow these last 2 days am off to bed now as tired and stressed too. I am crying really easily and snappy too. hope is all worth it x

pussycatmomma · 27/03/2007 20:37

by the way buttercup, i am sure the vitamins do not interact with the clomid. My gyny did not ask if i was taking vits or any other supplements. I am only taking a prenatal vit supplement with folic acid. I think the ones you have to be wary of are the chinese herbs from acupuncture dr and also some homeopathic remedies. Have you tried just googling it?

Yes, well it's saved me about £5, so their loss really. I think I know enough about my body and how clomid works to at least start it, so we shall see. Anyway the real point I was trying to make was that it worked quite quickly for me twice.

Good luck to you all!

buttercupbabe · 27/03/2007 20:20

Wow - never knew you could buy such things over the net. You go girl (mrscreamegg) - a shame that where you are now they will make you go through the whole process of testing etc when you know that clomid will work.

MrsMillionsofcremeggsplease · 27/03/2007 20:18

Another clomid deviant

podglet · 27/03/2007 20:15

Hi pussycatmomma, although not on clomid at the mo my 5 month DS is a clomid baby!

I was the same as MrsMillionsofcremeggsplease - I knew I wasn't ov'ing and was prescribed Clomid after 18 months of ttc and 1 m/c (Nov '05) Had my first cycle of Clomid Feb '06 and conceived 1st try! We are going to be naughty with no2 (will start ttc again in June) and if nothing by Christmas, will use the other strips of Clomid that I have left over... [tut tut emoticon]

Side effects for me: Was a horrid old bag to DP for a while, very big mood swings.

Just as an aside, why do pills that are supposed to help you get pregnant, make you so evil no-one wants to have sex with you - that was not well thought out...

Anyway, best of luck, hopr you have success and soon

MrsMillionsofcremeggsplease · 27/03/2007 19:59

I can tell you my experienes of Clomid if you'd like. Diagnosed as not ovulating (which i told them from the beginning) and given clomid, conceived in cycle 3. No side effects, it was great. When I went for baby no2, I just went straight back to my G.P. who gave my a 3 month supply and let me get one with it, conceived on 1st cycle!

Now, I have moved abroad and am wnting no 3, so I have spoken to the g.p. who said that they would have to run their own tests, which could mean another 12-18m months to get a naffing prescription. I cannot tell you how angry and frustrated I was. So I ordered some off the internet, cheaper than the cost of a prescription here too. Now I'm just waiting to start!

(naughty, naughty emoticon)

buttercupbabe · 27/03/2007 19:53

Hi. I posted nearly a week ago about my short LP. I've since been to the gp who is going to do bloods 7 dpo and has mentioned Clomid. As it could take a couple of months to get my referal (she wont prescribe clomid herself) I wondered whether you clomid girls could help. I'm thinking of taking Vitamin B6 100mg per day as I've heard it can increase the length of the LP. Just wanted to check that if I do get prescribed clomid that the B6 wont interfere with it or whther the dr's ask whether you're taking viamins at the time of prescribing clomid. Also if I do end up on Clomid are the side effects nasty or ok. Hope you girls can help

pussycatmomma · 27/03/2007 19:38

hello how is everyone doing???
lulu really nice to hear from you, how are things going?
Awen, what cd are you on now?? close to testing? any sign of af?
humpy...so sorry about your loss. Will be thinking of you in the weeks to come.
cd10 for me today. We are aiming for every other day at least for a bit of luuurve, but hopefully daily from now till at least day 16!! dh will be worn out.
Hope everyone else is fairing ok. I havent had any other side effects (real or imagined) and am trying not to get my hopes up too much.
anyone else out there trying clomid? Im not used to such a quiet bunch! only joking ladies,

I'll be your buddy too! I am also on my very first clomid cycle. Had miscarriage 12 weeks 4 days in October and no AF. After many tears and many frustrations was diagnosed with Asherman's syndrome. Went for a second opinion because didn't trust the doc and was then told it was not Asherman's but PCO! So I took my first Clomid last Friday and am now waiting... Have scan MArch 30th (a bit late, but doc on holiday). They didn't mention anything about blood tests, though. I am on 50 mg. I had the first pill on Day 2 (I ended up have a relatively normal but light AF!). I've felt pretty muzzy headed and wierd, but then I am jet lagged too.

MamaMaiasaura · 23/03/2007 21:35

I know what u mean about everyone being pg.. i think tho i am just more tuned into noticing them. x

humpydumpy · 23/03/2007 10:54

Thanks. It does make you wonder how any of us make it into the world.

The worse thing is, everyone I know is pg at the moment. There are bumps everywhere.

MamaMaiasaura · 23/03/2007 10:32

oh humpydump sorry for you news. This fertility business really does suck sometimes.

Although you tried to prepare yourself it is hard to let go of that little bit of hope xx

Thinking of you xx

humpydumpy · 23/03/2007 10:26

Thanks for asking Awen. It's a no go here. Blood tests on Tuesday showed hormones not rising properly and a scan yesterday confirmed I am losing it. Have had two weeks to get used to the idea so feel ok about it, although was quite upset when got the blood tests back. So looks like I will be back on the clomid later on in the year.

I thought I would also mention to you, when I did take the clomid, I got a very strong pain/ache when I was ov (the ov tests confirmed I was ov). I had never experienced that before (although, as I only have 2/3 af a year, I'm not sure I would ever pick up on ov pains).

MamaMaiasaura · 22/03/2007 14:47

ohh humpy forgot to ask how is it going xx
Is everything progressing ok?

MamaMaiasaura · 22/03/2007 14:45

Thanks humpydump, that is really helpful

What your conusltant said about it making cycle longer, that is what my consultant said. She had wanted me to start clomid on cd2 but because i spontanously af'd and didnt have blood results back for liver delayied till cd 5/6

Consultant just called.. She said the blood test on CD20 was way too early cos I only started clomid on CD5 therefore would have been CD15 .. feel more relieved now. So today would be CD21 - does that make any sense? Altho started cycle and should be CD26 from that cos of clomid it has knocked me back to CD21 today - which is a relief and makes sense as had a v long AF.

SHe said that I need to call her in 2 weeks to update. Need another liver function test too as my ALT is still double what it should be, altho has come down. Said perhaps I shouldnt have already startred clomid

She also said that need to leave 6 weeks from first course of clomid before thinking about next course which will most likely be up to 100mg a day. So if no AF I have to keep pg testing till 12 April then do another pg test. IF neg and no AF start provera and then clomid. Also have to get lft done in 2 weeks. Some complicated.

Still feel icky.. would an increase in progesterone make u feel ick? (wishful thinking here methinks) Just had soup and bread and water and feel like i want to be sick.

humpydumpy · 22/03/2007 12:12

Hi Awen. I have dug out the information my consultant gave me hope it helps. He gave me a "recipe" on how to structure the cycle
Day 5-9 take clomid
Day 14-16 peak fertility (plus maybe a day or so either side)
Day 21 Blood test to check ovulation
Day 35 if no AF preg test as clomid can make cycle longer.

He told me that if the dose of 50mg didn't make me ov then he would probably up the dose.

He also warned me that the clomid can give you pregnancy symptoms eg. sore boobs.

MamaMaiasaura · 22/03/2007 11:16

am cd26 - managed breakfast today without feeling sick

Dont know if you caught up on other thread. not too positive today. Fertility consultant should be called me today tho..
Spoke to the sec yesterday who said my day 20 bloods on progesterone (sp?) are very low 1.1. She said that means I havent ov'd then said they may have tested too early as started clomid later in cycle - cd5. No idea what is going on. Had achy norks again but that might be all in my head!

Felt really neg yesterday so didnt really want to post much. Trying to feel more pos as it was only first cycle (and I never win raffles ) Just impatiently waiting on the consultant to call me as keen to know what happens next.. and also dont want to induce cycle if there is a chance of pg (altho most unlikely).

Am trying not to obsess too much altho cant help dreaming after all this time it might work. DP is still wanting the old BD lol so up to BD14. He lives in hope.. or perhaps just having too much fun!

pussycatmomma · 21/03/2007 21:00

Hi.....glad my teeny tiny thread is still going! buttercupbabe, im sorry i dont really know all the technicalities of the luteal phase post ov etc as I have never managed to detect any ovulation of my own, and no longer temp etc. There are lots of lovely ladies on the positive threads and also probably someone on temping should know the score. Hope they can help you, good luck.
otherwisebecks....thankyou for the positive story, i SO need them to keep myself going. I know someone in rl who concieved with clomid and pcos on her 6th cycle. I am really not going to get my hopes up for a first try bfp, but hey, you never know your luck in a raffle, as they say!
Awen, how are you today???
I have not been well today, felt very sick, tremendous bad headache and dizzyness. I think it may be to do with the clomid, but you can never be sure. It may just be one of those things. I had a sleep and am feeling much better, just "normal" headache lingering now.
What cd are you on now honey? I am cd4, so hopefully af will be departing shortly, and we can "get to it"!!
hope you are well, keep posting, and i will try and offer as much support as poss.
xxx

Hi I dont know if you guys can help me but it's worth a shot! I conceived ds naturally on my 2nd cycle. We've been ttc for the last few months and this month I was taking close notice of when ovulation occured. I'm now 9 dpo and have cramps and spotting. I know by morning af will be in full flow. What I'd like to know is if I do have a short luteal phase what evidence do I need to show my gp and what will she be able to prescribe or do for me?

otherwisebecks · 20/03/2007 21:24

hi just like to say good luck with the treatment. i conceived ds1 on my 5th cycle of clomid. we had been trying to conceive for 3 years. ds1 is now 6. ds2 is 19wks and was conceived naturally after 2 months!!

MamaMaiasaura · 20/03/2007 21:02

Conceived him naturally - different relationship. We have been trying for just over 2 years.
