Pussycat- I think every other day is good. I am having the opposite prob as DH wants to do it pretty much every hour! I have told him at least every other day is fine, but I would say we do it everyday. When I got pregnant last time we were BDing about every other day.

Anwen- I know how hard the BFN is too. Last time I did only one test and it was BFP but since that miscarriage I have had so many BFN. But I also don't keep any in the house and think I won't test unless almost positive. Hope AF stay away.

Have a good weekend all. I'm about to move next week so am packing up the flat. Moving into our first house! So exctiing times ahead, hopefully!

pussycatmomma · 31/03/2007 10:36

oh lu how exciting for you. Will be keeping everything crossed.
((((hugs))) to awen, bfns are soooooooo hard, i try not to keep tests in the house at all because of this. I am too tempted to test early and all i get is disappointment too. Hope af continues to stay away for you though - good sign surely?
cd14 here. So far we have been bd every other day. I keep telling my dh this is not enough, what do you two think???? Ive told him we really need to step it up now as it could be a crucial time! (((hmmm, no pressure then!))) was cross with him last night cause he just couldnt be bothered, had a headache etc, and insisted every other day would be fine..... Of course, me being v.hormonal gave the "well if we dont get pregnant this month its all your fault" response - not good! All fine now though, im going to pin him down when he returns from golf whether he likes it or not!
Why cant this be easier!!!!!!!! its all such a faff.
Praying for a bfp sooooooooooooo much.
Thinking of you two, hope you have a nice weekend. xx

Hi there- I think they would only do a scan on day 9 or 10. I was later but only because I was away then doctor was away. The doctor himself did the scan. He didn't say whether or not I had ovulated, but said it was the right size etc. I have a sneaking suspicion he may have thought I had ovulated as he asked if I had been BDing. I'm on CD16 now.

awenbadbunny · 30/03/2007 19:55

CD34 today (cd 30 on clomid) Still on AF.. gave in to temptation and another bfn. I think that I ov'd last week tho and not quite 14 days ago (as 14 days ago was blood test and low prog) Have read up that progesterone is low before ovulation so def keeping fingers crossed. Lots of hormonal symptons still, achy boob (left one mainly) tearful, bit icky and stuff. Might just be clomid too but ever hopeful. Will speak to consultant again on Thursday and then ask if I can have another blood test for hormones (have to have my liver function done again as all wonky) and also ask if i can have a scan.

Glad scan went well lulu - sounds promising on your left ovary. Did they hint at ovulation?

How are symptoms pussycat?

I am definately knicker watching at the moment. Feel like i am a little obsessed by this whole business but it is the fact that on this medication u have to monitor etc that I am now searching everywhere for more information. A control thing for me I think

pussycatmomma · 30/03/2007 19:22

Hiya Lulu....So glad all went ok for you at the scan. Did the scanner person indicate to you if you have ovulated up to now or not? What cd are you? Im cd13 today and am keeping my eye out for any twinges that could mean ovulation. Not had any yet though
Hope everyone else is well. Hope af is staying away for you Awen, are you having any temptations to test yet????????

Hello all. Just back from hospital where I had the scan. The doctor said that my ovaries were "quiet" but then found my left one and said it looked good. So he seemed pleased and so am I. No overstimulation. (Not so worried about twins but a bit worried about more!). And you ladies are right- I am to have a blood test next week to see if I have ovulated. He will only chase this up if I don't get AF or don't get pregant. He said that if I get AF then just go on clomid again and do so for 6 months. We have been BDing and will continue...

awenbadbunny · 30/03/2007 10:43

oo and lulu - sounds like ov pain to me

awenbadbunny · 29/03/2007 20:48

I am not concerned with multiple pg either whatever i'm blessed with,

Pussycat - The blood test is early.. mine was cd20 (or CD 16 from taking 1st clomid). I got really upset by the result too as showed only 1.1 - the consultant was really re-assuring tho and said that it was way too early to be tested anyway and could easily ov later in cycle. (hoping I have).

The scan you are having lulu sounds like an excellant idea and I think I might ask if i can have one when i speak to consultant next week as it makes a lot of sense to be able to see what's going on. Also going to ask for another blood test. We are still BDing here just in case I have a really late ov.. I think i may have already. Any of you all tearful? I have been easily stressed last few days.

Hi coggy didnt know u were having a break xx hope to see u back soon

peachygirl · 29/03/2007 20:12

yoo hoo pussycat, I havn't read your whole thread but hope you are well.

pussycatmomma · 29/03/2007 20:10

hi lulu, wasnt ignoring you, been out walking my dog! I hope you get the good result tomorrow, ie that what you experienced was ovulation pain. That would be fantastic. I also tend to get quite a bit of pain, especially towards mid to late cycle. Before the pcos i used to put this down to ovulation, but now I know this is not the case. My gp suggested that the pain was indicative of the ovaries trying to ovulate, the egg not being released and the cysts building up. That is why the pain goes on for a good few days/weeks rather than a singular or one off pain which could indicate ovulation. I dont know how exact this is but it seems to make sense to me.
As far as the multiple birth thing goes, we have been advised their is a 5% risk increase and I am not concerned about this whatsoever. If I was fortunate enough to fall pregnant with the clomid, 2 would be a bonus

OP posts:
lulu1414 · 29/03/2007 16:30

Hiya- I don't think it is ovulation pain as I have this pain on and off throughout my cycle normally- it just feels worse. I guess I will find out tomorrow! I am not sure of my cycle, but... I had no AF for 3 months then had one and then got pregnant. I think that cycle must have been about 28 days judging from the dating scan (unfortunately the baby was 12 plus weeks, but no heart beat). I then had nothing for 4 months. Then looking back had very slight something in January. 36 days later had light but definite AF then 36 days later had heavier AF. Then took clomid. Doc thinks my PCO was only diagnosed in March.

I too have that butterfly feeling- more positive than I have felt in AGES. I think, in part, because something is at least being done and someone is keeping an eye on me.

Are any others of you worried/ been told about possibility of multiple births?

pussycatmomma · 29/03/2007 15:51

sorry awen, just read down and realised you are on cd33. Hope af stays away for you and that you will be a lucky lady this month.

pussycatmomma · 29/03/2007 15:49

hellloooooooooooo everyone!
(((pusscat flumps down on sofa with a cup of tea and a chocolate digestive)))
coggy, nice of you to drop by sweetie, hope you are ok in your "taking a break" month. Have you got your dates for new iui yet?
Always thinking of you and have a peek to see if I can see you around when on mn.
Awen, what cd are you on now?? did you get final (decisive) results from your bloodtest or were they still all misleading? I am not holdng out any great results from my 21 day test, as due to easter etc I am ending up having it on day19!! pretty pointless maybe? We shall see I suppose.
Lulu, the pain you describe could well be ovulation pain? How can you predict what cycle length you are going to have? with my pcos mine are all over the place, I am hoping the clomid will regulate it though. I think a scan is much better than having a blood test, you can really see whats going on in there!! lucky you I will keep my fingers crossed and will be waiting to hear how you got on with things.
I havent had any side effects apart from headaches. In fact I feel really well at the moment! (always helps when its Friday tomorrow!)
I have such an inward kind of excitement going on at the moment, it feels like I am hoping and praying for the best outcome and a bfp, but at the same time I have a nagging resigned kind of feeling of "why should this work, why should i be so fortunate? " .
I dont know if either of you feel the same.
Hope you are both ok.
Awen , you will be testing first I think, are you on cd36 today?

Hey Pusscat............how are the old tablets going?

Are you still busy BDing???!!!
Have you turned into your DH's biggest hormonal nightmare?

I had NO side effects whatsoever BTW!!!
Hope the only side-effect you have is a nice BFP....wouldn't that be good!!

lulu1414 · 29/03/2007 13:46

Hi Clomid buddies!

Anwen- thanks. The scan is for two reasons, from what I understand: 1) to check on how the endemitriol wall is building up as mine was very thin because of hormones, the ERPC after miscarriage etc 2) to check to see if there are multiple eggs and therefore the risk of multiple births. It is to check to see if the clomid is working and is not hyperstimulating the ovaries. They would only do this for the first cycle, I think. I am not having blood tests, only this scan. I will let you know how it goes and report back as to why they do it etc.

Everyone- I have had quite an uncomfortable feeling in my lower left abdomen. I do get this feeling quite a bit in anycase, but this feels worse. I don't think it is ovulation as I am CD16 and we think I am on a 36 day cylce. Any ideas?

Good luck all!
