Hi thats it really. If there is anyone who is about to start a new cycle with clomid, can you please be my friend?
This will be my first try on clomid, I have pcos, and started af today after a horrible 48 day cycle.
But af is here, hurray! which means i can start on the magic beans tomorrow.
So if you would like chat and hand holding too, please sign in here.
Im thinking good sense of humour, sympathy, and patience will be a must

awen,

Delighted to read of your good news!!.

Flosspot,

Do NOT take agnus castus and clomid together. You should not medicate with AC particularly if you are diagnosed with PCOS. It can make things far worse.

flosspot · 30/04/2007 16:21

BTW anyone else had the whole not-ovulating thing. DIdn't know if I should try herbal remedies such as agnus castus in addition to Clomid.

flosspot · 30/04/2007 16:20

Awen-
that really is the best news. What a wonderful Christmas gift!!! Congratulations. Golly. You'll have to keep us updated. Fingers croseed we'll all be following your lead soon.

How is everyone else doing? The great scan debacle continues here. DH has nobly insisted on attending all my appointments from now on to make sure I don't get 'fobbed off again'. He might not be saying that when BD time comes...

My doc drew this neat little diagram when I was first given drugs: Clomid days 2-5, BD days 11-17 AF day 28. But as am not ovulating and cycles 40 days plus, may have to come up with new strategy.

lulu1414 · 30/04/2007 10:05

Hi all. Just wondering... when you were put on clomid did the docs give you any advice about what to do/ not to do when on Clomid? Did they tell you of any side effects? Just curious!

MamaMaiasaura · 29/04/2007 20:43

Told DS - my DP already knew of course .. it was my ds i was talking about (from a prev relationship) - his dad is not the daddy iyswim

lol @ your dp - wise words but when hormonal we are not very wise

pussycatmomma · 29/04/2007 19:48

oh awen tell him tell him tell him!!!!!!!!!!
Tis not something to be kept to oneself, especially from the Daddy.
Besides, good or bad you are in this together, so i vote for tell him and approach whatever is in store as a couple
I was telling my dh about you earlier on, he's like "you see!! you women are far too impatient, if she hadnt have done all those tests to start with she wouldnt have all this extra disappointment when the result was so lovely!"
dear oh dear oh dear.
Pusscatdaddy has alot to learn

Oh my god! Awen- what wonderful news! I have been thinking of you and wondering if that was, indeed the case. If provera is prgesterone and that is the hormone you produce after ovulation and if you are pregnant, I can't imagine it would harm the baby. What a wonderful start to the day!

MamaMaiasaura · 29/04/2007 11:34

OMg got a BFP - hope provera not affected baby

lulu1414 · 28/04/2007 17:13

Hi everyone.

Awen- how frustrating. I hope something happens soon.

I'm feeling a bit blue as I am sure AF is coming. I seem to get breast cysts right before AF now (yet another fun thing to deal with) and I have developed one now. Before anyone says anything, my other breast is not sore, so I know it is not early PG symptoms! Actually it is really wierd as I never had this before and the first one started just before my first AF after the m/c.

DH picked up my next prescription of Clomid so I will be prepared when AF arrives.

Hope everyone else OK.

MamaMaiasaura · 28/04/2007 16:51

hi guys. Hope you ok. Minxi - I would bd at least everyother day from when stop af

No sodding AF here for me. Had cramps last 3 days but she hasnt arrived. Been a week since finished provera. Is this normal?? Arghhh. Just want to bet on with clomid. If no AF next week might re-test although dont feel am pg.

coggy · 28/04/2007 10:31

I would definitely try a bit warlier and later as well Minxi...if you can manage it!!!

I don't ov naturally until Cd18 or 19 of a 27/28 day cycle so I was always trying at the wrong time before....(for nearly five piggin' years!!!!)

minxi · 27/04/2007 22:38

Hi PCM and Awen and the others...am on cd5 today (clomid day 4) ....feel fine since my crazy pmt moments over the weekend.....just want it to work - started temping this month as well as took a month off, so will see - consultant said to just have sex on cd10/12/14/16 but think will do 6/8/18 and 20 just to be sure poor dh
Hope everyone is ok

flosspot · 26/04/2007 16:46

Any advice is good advice at this stage, Lulu! I guess I'll know more via my GP in a few days.

Have a smile back on my face- my dog (bought when the baby thing didn't semm to be working!)has been making me laugh all afternoon. Feel better about attacking the ironing now, so added bonus. In spirit of happiness and positivity am sending good vibes out to you all.

lulu1414 · 26/04/2007 13:37

Floss- I understand your frustration... I have also had a nightmare with GPs and specialists until I found a good one. I don't know... but I would imagine you would be having an internal ultrasound to check to see if you have produced an egg and if it is the right size etc. I had a scan which did that and also to check that I wasn't over-reacting to the clomid ie producing more than one egg. They also check the state endemitriol lining... I could be wrong as it may not be the same in your case.

flosspot · 26/04/2007 12:54

The fun continues- hospital called me today. Was referred for scan by yesterday's consultant, but it seems radiology don't do that scan, so have sent paperwork back and advised me to call department. After finally getting through to the Professor's secretary, it seems that there are barely any notes from my appointment, she can't work out which scan I am supposed to have and will have to investigate further. So it's one step back.

But not so weepy today, thank the lord. On day 5 of Clomid.

Thanks for your welcome and support. It made a big difference!
