Hi,

This is all very new to me so would like to make some TTC buddies :)

Let me tell you a little about myself:
Been with my SO for 2 years now and we're getting married in 31 days! I'm 26 (nearly 27) and my hubby2b is 35. We bought a house last year and feel like now is a good time to start a family!

This is my first cycle and I'm really excited but trying not to get my hopes up as seen that it's harder than it looks.

Any advice would be appreciated :) xxx

@Mrstobe90 that's what I am experiencing just now. Lots of cramps that are pretty uncomfortable at times. Don't normally get that. Currently reading all about symptoms 😂😂 xx

MummyGofboys · 04/06/2017 21:04

@FrowningFlamingo yeah it's so awful isn't it. I hope none of you are in London and are safe. We are in a small town in Scotland lol so hopefully safe enough xx

Mrstobe90 · 04/06/2017 21:02

MummyG enjoy your bath! Have a good old cry too. It might just be a build up of emotions that you need to let out!
I'm starting to feel a little stressed as I have just started getting very dull cramping. Really hope it isn't a sign of AF. Not due on for 10 days so Fx it's not that!

Haha mrs we did something similar. Someone at work actually asked if we had won the lottery! It was all carefully planned and saved for, just all happened at once.
mummyG I'm all over the place today too but I suspect it's just being overtired and the news being so bloody awful today :(

Mrstobe90 · 04/06/2017 20:57

I know it's gross but I'm reading up on CM and how it changes through out a cycle. I think it may be a good way to note where you're at in your cycle

@Mrstobe90 haha why not just chuck in a baby too and add to the madness. I have no idea what's wrong with me today. So emotional. I'm now chilling with hubby and might go for a nice bath. Xx

Mrstobe90 · 04/06/2017 20:43

MummyG yeh the wedding is a bit too big lol. We (meaning I) went slightly over board haha It's all just come at a bit of a crazy time as we've just bought a house and got a new car and now the wedding is nearly here! No clue why we thought this was a good time to make babies haha
I'm sorry you're feeling so down! Go have a glass of wine and stick on a good movie :) xx

MummyGofboys · 04/06/2017 20:31

I should have known that lol it's so obvious now. Iv never used them xx

MissyEm · 04/06/2017 20:25

MummyGofboys OPK is ovavulation predicting kit.

MummyGofboys · 04/06/2017 20:12

@TheLovelyOtherDinosaur that is so sweet. It's so exciting buying baby clothes isn't it.

@Mrstobe90 Eeek how exciting. Is it a big wedding? Those are some good symptoms though. I have had major cramping today and still feel shattered. And so emotional, I have burst into tears every time I have read the news today.

@McTufty Congratulations on your wedding. When are you going on honeymoon?

@Magpie24 Sorry period arrived. Hopefully next time.

What are opks? Xx

Mrstobe90 · 04/06/2017 16:44

magpie Sorry to hear about Aunt Flo. She's a real bitch! :p

Mctufty Yeh it's totally random when coming off the pill. I've been off all hormonal contraceptives for about 7 years now so luckily my cycles are fairly regular now.
I'll try and put it to the back of my mind and let the wedding come first but it's just so hard haha
And yes, do a test with us :) It can be this threads official POAS day lol!

Magpie24 · 04/06/2017 16:43

@McTufty good luck to you too. Sorry I missed you off! I had loads of symptoms stopping the pill but got my period 28 days later so I think that's encouraging in terms of fertility returning?

McTufty · 04/06/2017 16:41

I think as it's my first month off the pill mine are probably symptoms of that as I don't even know if I'm ovulating! I wouldn't even know when to do a test so if AF hasn't shown up, I may do one on 16th with you girls as that's 4 weeks since my last 'period' and seems as good a time as any!

I read that when you ovulate post pill is a lottery, could be really soon as in within days but could take several months so who knows.

magpie sorry to hear AF has turned up, fingers crossed for better look in cycle 2

mrstobe totally will fly by! the wedding is a long time coming and quickly gone, and when it's gone it's gone for good, which is why I say don't let it fade into the background of the baby making Smile

Magpie24 · 04/06/2017 16:35

@Mrstobe90 @TheLovelyOtherDinosaur good luck guys!! I had loads of symptoms but they turned out to be AF. TTC for cycle 2 will start tomorrow for me!

Mrstobe90 · 04/06/2017 16:32

lovelydinosaur mine is due on the 16th as well! Let's hope they don't show up!!

I have a ridiculous amount of symptoms but I just don't want to think about it. So scared of ending up devastated. I've read a lot about women who have all the symptoms and then AF shows up with a vengeance. I know it's only our first cycle but I know i'll be gutted if she turns up this month.

Mrstobe90 · 04/06/2017 16:30

Mctufty congrats :) the wedding planning goes so quickly doesn't it? We started planning at the end of August and we've blinked and it's nearly here! I have a feeling I'll blink and it'll be over just as quick.
And tmi is fine! We're all going through the same thing.
My CM around this time is normally quite thick but for some reason it's just clear and like water. so FX we'll get a BFP soon but trying not to get my hopes up as I don't want to feel too let down.

lovelydinosaur It's great that you're such a calming influence for your DH. He's lucky to have you!
Which OPK's do you use? I've heard the clearblue ones are meant to be pretty good. I'm a bit nervous about using them as if I don't ever get a positive, I think it'll make me question my fertility.

TheLovelyOtherDinosaur · 04/06/2017 16:26

Mctufty some good old signs for you there too!!

AF is due 16/06 for me so I'm on a 12 day wait!! I totally don't 'feel' pregnant but I guess it's only early days. I'm thinking I'm going to wait until AF is due and if late, I will then do a test but if I got any symptoms like the above, I'm not sure if I would hold out!!

TheLovelyOtherDinosaur · 04/06/2017 16:19

Missyem and Mrstobe I am using OPK's too... Well trying but I have never had a truly positive result- just darker lines at other times than others do have put these in to ovia. The problem being is it's saying that I probably ovulate quite late in my cycle and I'm not sure if this is entirely true 😕 (Could be though) I'd be happier if I definitely had a positive.

The other thing is that I got the period planner app and through calculating my cycle length etc it's decided that I likely ovulate much earlier than ovia is suggesting so I'm really confused!! Luckily this month we dtd on the overlapping days some I'm hoping that will be enough!! DH says not to worry as his swimmers will have sorted it 🙈😂 and that people have managed to get pregnant for centuries without phone apps and OPK's which is very true!! Also we've just been on holiday for a week so I'm hoping that has also kept me nice and relaxed!!

McTufty · 04/06/2017 16:08

mrstobe

27 days till your wedding, that's so exciting! It's been 8 days since mine and I'm still on a high. Try to enjoy it in amongst the baby making, and if this isn't your month, at least you get to drink some of that alcohol you've bought for the wedding!

My 'symptoms': abdominal cramping, backache, headaches. CM has gone from clear to cloudy though not much of it (is TMI ok on these threads? Sorry if not!)

TheLovelyOtherDinosaur · 04/06/2017 16:07

Mrstobe Wow they sound like some really positive signs!! Wouldn't it be wonderful if you were carrying a bundle of joy!! Also a honeymoon baby would be equally lovely!!

Magpie I just couldn't resist at the time and just thought 'what the heck'. We got married in August last year and it's taken my DH a while to get his head around starting a family. He's a natural worrier and if it hadn't been for my gentle persuasion that all would be OK and that we would be in it together, he probably wouldn't have thought about having children. I think having the baby things around was one of my ways of saying 'it's time to step up to the mark... I'm serous about wanting a baby now!' It seemed to have worked as although he readily admits he's nervous, he seems quite excited too!!

Mrstobe90 · 04/06/2017 15:55

missyem I haven't tried OPK's yet. are they any good? I've heard some people have problems with them?

OP posts:
Mrstobe90 · 04/06/2017 15:55

Lovelyotherdinosaur omg how sweet! As magpie said, I'm not getting anything yet because I don't want to tempt fate either. I've struggled on and off with my health and I'm on a few medications so I do worry that it may not happen, but I'm probably just being a negative nelly. It's all I want at the moment!

Mrstobe90 · 04/06/2017 15:53

MummyG how exciting! I bet it'll be so emotional seeing your big boy starting school!

OP posts:
Magpie24 · 04/06/2017 14:23

@TheLovelyOtherDinosaur that is sooooo cute! I would love to buy things but haven't yet... feel like I might be tempting fate as we already know we may have some fertility problems due to some treatment my other half had a few years ago. I did buy one tiny little stuffed toy though!!

TheLovelyOtherDinosaur · 04/06/2017 14:12

I started with a baby box- just a few things in the sale at John Lewis-but now they are blatantly hanging up in the wardrobe that will be the babies room! Lol. I don't plan to find out the sex of our baby once we have conceived so have gone for neutral baby grows etc. Every now and then I go in and have a little peak... so cute!! My DH thinks I'm bonkers 😂
