Hi,

This is all very new to me so would like to make some TTC buddies :)

Let me tell you a little about myself:
Been with my SO for 2 years now and we're getting married in 31 days! I'm 26 (nearly 27) and my hubby2b is 35. We bought a house last year and feel like now is a good time to start a family!

This is my first cycle and I'm really excited but trying not to get my hopes up as seen that it's harder than it looks.

Any advice would be appreciated :) xxx

Oh Flamingo I am sorry to hear that Flowers
Haven't heard 'boinking' for a while Grin.

Welp, that's another baby born today on the fringes of my social circle. ( baby-making obsessing increases )

McTufty · 08/06/2017 19:21

Thank you for the test recommendations! For my first one I might splash out on a clear blue or a first response but given I'm likely to be an obsessive tester I think I had better look for more cost effective ones generally!

flamingo I am sorry about your aunt Flowers I hope you feel better soon.

I would love to do if it happens it happens but I have been broody for ages and am impatient for my BFP! It is definitely the better way to go if you're able to take that attitude, but I just am not sadly!

FrowningFlamingo · 08/06/2017 19:17

Mostly premenstrual adriana! I've been cross, over sensitive and teary today. Unfortunately my aunt died yesterday so feeling a bit out of sorts anyway really. I'm pretty sure it's not my month this month but it was only half a cycle really, I think we were a bit late with the boinking!
McTufty I bought a pack of 20 cheapies from amazon. I've already used two Blush but I think it's the novelty of it all!
I always thought we'd use the 'if it happens it happens approach' but turns out we are embracing the every other day routine instead. I'm quite enjoying it - we were often only having sex on weekends as we both get tired from busy jobs but it's quite nice to have a prompt!

AdrianaWeatherwax · 08/06/2017 16:39

Flamingo only 2 days to go! How are you feeling?

MummyG a lot can change in 6 days! It must be frustrating trying when your husband works away and having smaller windows to BD.

Missy don't feel deflated Flowers. Have you decided if you're gonna test tomorrow or next week?

McTufty I've got cheap ones, as I've tested too early before and didn't want to waste a clearblue digi. However, I've a couple clearblue stashed away for when AF is a week overdue for that hopefully BFP.

A day or so and we can start trying again, woohoo!

user1496917263 · 08/06/2017 12:01

Currently on day 12. Supposed to pop the egg out on day 17 assuming I go 35 days like I usually do. However the last time it was 42 days which freaked me out a bit.

MummyGofboys · 08/06/2017 11:52

I think the of it happens approach is probably the best as you don't get so obsessed. It's hard not to become obsessed though 😩😩 how far along your cycle are you? 34 isn't old for trying for a baby. In fact I think that's the average age these days xx

user1496917263 · 08/06/2017 11:48

Hi I'm a newbie and I too am looking for some ttc buddies. I'm 34 and I've been with my partner for 3 years. We've only just started ttc on 31st May and I too am already getting obsessed. I think the only thing I haven't got yet is a bbt thermometer and OPK tests. Came off pill at the end of January and AF was like clockwork till May when it was 7 days late. I'm just worried about everything really. Mostly I'm worried I've left it too late at 34 and we'll struggle to conceive Do you think the 'if it happens it happens' approach is the best way?

MummyGofboys · 08/06/2017 10:31

@MissyEm how long have you been trying? I'm not too disheartened because this is only the second cycle that we have tried. We can only trust every second cycle because of Stephens work.

@McTufty I use clear blue digital ones. They are expensive though. So not going to do another one until my period is late xx

MissyEm · 08/06/2017 09:44

I feel your pain @MummyG! Can't stay in this mood for long, it will ruin the day :)

McTufty · 08/06/2017 09:42

mummyg don't lose heart, 6 days is super early so you could still get that BFP! It could be nothing, it it could be a little baby, fingers crossed!

missyem don't worry for not waiting, the temptation is overwhelming. Hopefully you get a different result in a few days!

What pregnancy tests do people recommend? I need to buy some for next week and no idea where to start!

MummyGofboys · 08/06/2017 09:18

@MissyEm it's so annoying isn't it. I'm just going to wait now to see if AF turns up next week. Still having cramps and tired but it could be nothing and my silly body trying to deceive me 😩😩 xx

MissyEm · 08/06/2017 08:38

I couldn't wait either! Did one yesterday BPN, now feel deflated and wish I waited for the end of the TWW (tomorrow) or AF to turn up or not next week. Confused

MummyGofboys · 08/06/2017 08:20

Done another test this morning and it was negative. Another 6 days until I can officially test. Think I could be out this month. Which means we won't be trying again until end of July when hubby comes back from work. He works away for four weeks at a time. Anyone else tested around about this time and had a positive? Xx

FrowningFlamingo · 07/06/2017 13:36

She sounds nuts Grin but hopefully she's right!!
That's true adriana. And I know they'll be really pleased for me. Though secretly a little bit cross probably!! AF is due on Saturday but my cycles have been getting longer each time since having my implant out. Last one was 27 days and before contraception I was always 28. But that was many years ago. So I won't get too excited straight away if there's no sign. No symptoms today. I'm kind of hoping next month is our month tbh, but I wouldn't be sad if it's sooner!

Mrstobe90 · 07/06/2017 13:24

Ok, a girl which I haven't seen or spoken to in a year and a half (who I barely know anyway) has just sent me this!!! Omg I hope it's a sign!

@AdrianaWeatherwax mine is a week today. Feeling very nauseous today. I'm waiting to come down with a vomiting bug but no sickness yet. Hopefully a positive sign. How about you? Xx

AdrianaWeatherwax · 07/06/2017 10:38

How many days now until your 'official' test dates, MummyG and Flamingo? Not long to wait now, Missy!

That's great that your collegues are lovely, Flamingo :-) if you got your BFP you'd still have many months (if all is well) before you'd be off on mat anyway :-)

FrowningFlamingo · 07/06/2017 08:27

Haha that's true adriana! Unfortunately (for this scenario anyway!) everyone I work with is lovely. It would be easier if they were all lazy gits be honest!!
Just done a test as I'm meeting friends this afternoon and would like a glass of wine! BFN but it's too early so I'm not too disappointed.

MummyGofboys · 06/06/2017 22:08

Still get lots of cramping. Not sure what this is and still a bit nauseous too. This wait is awful xx

AdrianaWeatherwax · 06/06/2017 21:38

Sorry to hear about your MC cheese, fingers crossed for you this time. Flowers

Your manager sounds awesome, mrstobe! With all those woman you work with you know you'll get plenty of support :-)

Ah, flamingo, don't feel guilty. You'll have the rest of your life to work for them! :-) I am relishing in the thought of going off on maternity, finally the lazy bs I work with will have to take their fingers out their arses. //bitter

MummyGofboys · 06/06/2017 19:40

@MissyEm I found out both times the day my period was due as just knew for some reason but didn't have symptoms.

@Magpie24 try and not worry about work. It all seems to fit into place once it actually happens.

@WithCheesePlease hey 😊😊 Sorry to hear about your loss. Fingers crossed this cycle brings a positive xx

Mrstobe90 · 06/06/2017 19:33

Welcome Newbies!

Penguin Hope the TWW doesn't drive you mental! I think the majority of us here are in it?

withcheese So sorry to hear about your MC! I hope this cycle brings your BFP!

I work with all girls and half of them are pregnant and all the others but one have children so there'd be no hiding it lol
Manager is a machine. Works 7 days a week for about 14 - 16 hours a day and she's got a 5 month old and is pregnant. No idea how she does it but somehow does.

That's pretty much what DH and I decided too - there will never be a perfect time so we are just going to have to get one with it!
I then get annoyed with myself for feeling guilty about work. Then get annoyed with myself for getting annoyed. Can't win really Grin

MissyEm · 06/06/2017 19:02

@frowningflamingo, I have bene outing it off for a couple of years due to work, I wanted to wait for a promotion. I got my promotion in Nov, then I thought well I should be in the role for a year. Something will always come up.....it's a tough one.

@withcheeseplease, sorry to read about the mc, fx for you this time round.

WithCheesePlease · 06/06/2017 18:49

Hello, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding OP. Very exciting!
I'm 36, started TTC#1 almost a year ago. It finally worked in Feb, but then miscarried 6 weeks later.
AF arrived today with a vengeance! (2nd one since mc), and I think once the b*tch is gone, we're going to start again...
Good luck everyone Smile
