Hi,

This is all very new to me so would like to make some TTC buddies :)

Let me tell you a little about myself:
Been with my SO for 2 years now and we're getting married in 31 days! I'm 26 (nearly 27) and my hubby2b is 35. We bought a house last year and feel like now is a good time to start a family!

This is my first cycle and I'm really excited but trying not to get my hopes up as seen that it's harder than it looks.

Any advice would be appreciated :) xxx

Hi everyone, another who'd like to join in - I just turned 28, got married in Jan and had my implant out last month after having been on it for about 7 years and the Depo injection for 3 years before that! Have got a period tracker app just to get used to what my cycle is like without hormonal contraception but like others I have a niggling worry that I'll struggle to get pregnant, for no valid reason really! My best friend is 21 weeks pregnant at the moment, she's given me a load of her test strips and I've done 2 already in the last 4 days even though there's not even the slightest chance they'll be positive haha. Good luck to us all!

MummyGofboys · 12/06/2017 10:00

@McTufty just seen your comment. Yeah get some tests and see if you are ovulating. Jump
On him tonight. Sperm lasts for up to 5 days so should cover you while he is away. I used the clear blue one that's just the cross or line. Yeah I really am not going to be happy if I'm not pregnant. My boobs are killing me, still nauseous and still getting cramps and exhausted. Will now wait until Friday to test again if AF hasn't arrived. Very frustrating. Xx

MummyGofboys · 12/06/2017 09:56

@AdrianaWeatherwax watch what you are doing with raspberry leaf tea when you fall pregnant. Yiu arent supposed to take it until 32 weeks. I started taking it at 32 weeks and my ds1 came at 35 weeks. I started taking it at 35 weeks with ds2 and he arrived at 37 weeks. Could be coincidence but that's the only thing I could put it down to xxx

AdrianaWeatherwax · 12/06/2017 09:50

That's crap McTufty and MummyG :-(

Khan I'm not sure how much the seven seas supplement would actually aid conception, I think it's more that they recommend you've a build up of folic acid by the time you've conceived.

There are some supplements that I was recommended that MAY help. But they're obviously not guaranteed, I'm just going on my friends advice (who said "feel free to ignore my mumbo jumbo!");
Evening primrose oil - 1000mg x3 per day - stabilises hormone production and helps to carry them to the right places.
Vitamin B complex - one per day.
Co-enzyme Q10 - 300mg - one per day egg quality and production (I think these are the most important, I would read about this in fertility, it's encouraging).
Raspberry leaf - 400mg 3xper day - (supports healthy development of the lining of the womb).
Vitamins E - 3x per day - helps with egg quality.
Omega oils - 3,6 and 9 (once per day) again egg production and quality of eggs

Supplements are expensive though. I take the raspberry leaf by making tea from the leaves. (Ever seen 1kg of leaves? Tea for fucking months)

McTufty · 12/06/2017 09:42

Sorry to hear that mummyG. Which test did you use? From what I'm reading you can never be 100% sure it's negative till AF comes, but you must be so frustrated. Especially if you're feeling rubbish, its one thing to feel sick if it's a baby but if not, well that's annoying!

Bizarrely I've been having EWCM past couple of days. Odd. It is possible I'm ovulating given my cycle not established so I'll buy a kit this afternoon just in case - but I'd better be quick as DH off away for work for 2 nights at 6pm!

RSKhan1 · 12/06/2017 09:24

@user1493497283
Were you taking any supplements?
How many of you were taking seven seas trying for a baby and got a positive result? Confused

MummyGofboys · 12/06/2017 08:41

@McTufty that's crap. Hopefully you can still get a positive. I took another test this morning which was negative. Two days until official test day but I thought it would have come up if I was pregnant. Feel a little deflated xx

McTufty · 12/06/2017 07:29

I very stupidly did a test this morning - Boots 5 day early one! BFN. Silly as I have no idea if i ovulated and if so when, or when my period would be due. I'm not too disappointed as I didn't think it would be anything else, I was just curious!

MummyGofboys · 11/06/2017 15:30

Hi @user1493497283 do a test!!! I could t wait lol. Iv done three went Ines and they were all negative. Due to test on Wednesday but going to wait until Friday if AF is late xx

MummyGofboys · 11/06/2017 15:29

I have survived the party!!! Three hours of 21 children in my house plus their mums and my family 😂😂 good fun though.

@McTufty it's so hard to try and not worry. I was convinced before I had my first that I could y have kids and got pregnant before my break through bleed off the pill. Same second time too. I was on the pill for 13 years. You will get your positive soon 😊😊

user1493497283 · 11/06/2017 14:56

Hi all,
Hoping you don't mind another one joining! Been with my other half for 2 and a half years and have been TTC for three cycles. Last period was 12/05 so AF is a few days late.. I've got everything crossed hoping for the positive result but can't bring myself to test in case it is negative! Reading through all you're posts has put me at ease.. Good luck you lovely bunch :)

FrowningFlamingo · 11/06/2017 12:51

Sorry you're worrying mctufty. I'm sure we can all tell you there's nothing to worry about but it probably won't make much difference :) I would guess that the majority of people TTC have been on contraception a while before they start - this is my first time without hormonal contraception for about 12 years.

FrowningFlamingo · 11/06/2017 12:49

I think there must be a gremlin in MNHQ today adriana as a chunk of my post disappeared... what I was going to say was that I've read of some people saying the pregnacare preconception vitamins made their cycles funny. I'm using them and still no AF yet. Ive looked at the ingredients and can't see any logical reason they would, I suspect it's just that I usually wouldn't have noticed if I was a few days late but now I'm TTC I'm watching my cycle like a hawk! I'm two days late now but tested yesterday so not worth trying again until about midweek unless AF arrives sooner of course!

McTufty · 11/06/2017 12:17

mummyg

Yes I have, and I haven't even tested this month yet! I'm a healthy BMI with no reason to suppose I'll have problems, I'm just torturing myself. I have just been on the pill so long and never paid attention to my cycles before so no idea if they're regular. It's just so stressful not knowing! I've always wanted to be a mother. You're right not to google, it was stupid of me Confused

MummyGofboys · 11/06/2017 11:58

Oh @McTufty don't google things like that. It's the first month so no suggestion that it won't happen. Yiu have just come off the pill haven't you? Xx

McTufty · 11/06/2017 11:55

Good luck with the party! It certainly does sound like promising symptoms, fingers crossed...

My ovia, because I can't even put in my last period, is just in a constant state of telling me I'm fertile and 12 days till test! Looking forward to getting it going properly.

I've started reading about blocked tubes and endometriosis etc and have really upset myself - silly as it's only first month of trying and I'm not even officially out yet as AF not here but this whole TTC thing makes you a bit loopy I think!

MummyGofboys · 11/06/2017 11:50

@AdrianaWeatherwax yes I am mental 😂😂 this is the first month Iv used it. You put in the first day of your period and how many days your cycle is normally and it works it out. Every day you put in symptoms. I'm a 26 day cycle so pretty short. The nausea keeps coming in waves, boobs are sore and still cramping. If I'm not pregnant my body and I are having some serious words 😂😂

AdrianaWeatherwax · 11/06/2017 11:39

MummyG how many months of entering data until it tells you when to take a pregnancy test? Or is it when you're X days past AF being due?
Here's hoping the nausea is a good sign.
21 under 5s?!? In your own house?! Are you mental?? 😂😂

MummyGofboys · 11/06/2017 10:59

@Mrstobe90 according to the ovia app it's three days so Wednesday. So I'm guessing that's the day my period is due. No idea lol.

First time TTC
Mrstobe90 · 11/06/2017 10:54

I'm really well thanks :)

RSK welcome! If they're just prenatal vitamins, I'd say start them now :)

MummyG I hope the nausea is a good thing! We both get to test Friday don't we?

Flamingo I hate when you type a big post and lose it aha it happens all the time to me!

Sorry to everyone that got AF!!

OP posts:
MummyGofboys · 11/06/2017 10:37

@AdrianaWeatherwax I know!!! It's three days until AF is due and my boobs are now really sore. Don't know if it's the rise in progesterone in the leutel stage that's causing it but I don't have these symptoms normally. Going to test after Wednesday if AF hadn't arrived. I'm still trying to remain positive. Sounds like a good night. I have my sons birthday party today at our house, with 21 under 5's. What have I done!!!!

AdrianaWeatherwax · 11/06/2017 10:09

FFS just typed a long thing but mumsnet froze and I lost the bastarding thing.

Khan I've started the seven seas too, just take em every day ☺

Sorry AF has arrived Missy, fucking hate unannounced visitors 🍷.

Bad luck with the BFN MummyG and Flamingo although it's odd you've still got the nausea MummyG?

Hope you enjoyed the last day of your honeymoon McTufty!

How are you Mrstobe?

Still in bed, whisky hangover (yesterday was FIL's birthday). Maybe a BD and cooked breakfast will cure me.

RSKhan1 · 11/06/2017 08:52

Dont worry, FrowningFlamingo.
Hopefully it will go well.
Keep us updated!

RSKhan1 · 11/06/2017 08:50

Ohh... I see, I had been taken Tesco's folic acid earlier but seem no luck with it.
Recently, read some good reviews abt seven seas supplement so bought it.
Now I'm confused as the supplement itself has days written on it i.e. Starting from Monday.
And Monday it will be me 3rd day of period!
So shall I wait till tomorrow or I can just start from today?

FrowningFlamingo · 11/06/2017 08:33

Ideally from three months before rskahn so start now if you're TTC! Your post is reminded me that some people
Still no sign of AF over here. No symptoms of either pregnancy or AF. I have a smear booked on Thursday, hope neither interferes with that!
