Hi,

This is all very new to me so would like to make some TTC buddies :)

Let me tell you a little about myself:
Been with my SO for 2 years now and we're getting married in 31 days! I'm 26 (nearly 27) and my hubby2b is 35. We bought a house last year and feel like now is a good time to start a family!

This is my first cycle and I'm really excited but trying not to get my hopes up as seen that it's harder than it looks.

Any advice would be appreciated :) xxx

Welcome Firework! xposted with you last night Smile

Mrstobe90 · 18/06/2017 23:23

Welcome firework! Personally I got symptoms the week after ovulation. My boobs just erupted out of my chest lmao

Good luck Mctufty and flamingo! Happy humping! Wink

Fefi I went to a 5 day music festival the week before I got my BFP and had a few drinks everyday but didn't over do it just in case. Apparently it's perfectly fine to drink before you get a positive as at that point, it's still so early that the baby hasn't properly implanted yet so anything you eat or drink won't go to it yet.

Welcome firework :) don't worry about the terminology, it becomes pretty obvious quickly!
Thanks for the baby dust McTufty and have fun too adriana! Grin
Fefi I have found people take very different approaches with the alcohol. Personally I've cut down but not stopped (nursing one wine instead of having three!). Also had a booxy BBQ at the weekend but still had AF so didn't worry then really. I bought cheapy tests from amazon so if I have a big event I test that morning to make sure it's still ok. DH has cut down too as he read it is bad for sperm! This is the approach my obstetrician friend took so I'm comfortable with it but I think it's a fairly personal thing!

Fefifoefum · 18/06/2017 22:27

Welcome firework! You guys are all so on it with ovulation sticks etc!

I on the other hand, totally forgot about anything this weekend and have had a verrrry boozy one with friends bbqs etc, now feeling a bit guilty just in case! Did you guys stop the booze etc before knowing?!

My boobs are sore as hell, but may be because the ol' AF is due in 9 days! Who knows!

AdrianaWeatherwax · 18/06/2017 22:10

That's a super dark line McTufty! Have fun Wink.

Best way Flamingo, good luck and have fun ;-)

Finally got a peak OPK and it was a good clear line, huzzah!

Hi... I was hoping I could join? A bit scared ha. I'm new and still working out all the acronyms! It's hard as I don't want to discuss this with my friends because it's private but I don't want my OH (other half?!) to feel pressure either. I'm TTC for the first time this month. I ovulated on Thursday so made the most of that day! Now today I've been too and from the loo non stop (although I have drank a lot of water in this heat) and have an awful headache which I can't shift. I'm thinking my mind is tricking me but how early can you pick up symptoms? I'm in that situation where I'm trying to tell myself I'll be ok if it hasn't worked first time but also hoping I won't have problems concieving as I'm 34.

McTufty · 18/06/2017 22:00

Thanks missyem!

frowningflamingo

That's the best way apparently as ovulation can be unpredictable and this way there will be little swimmers waiting whenever you ovulate! Baby dust has been duly sent your way Smile

I am cramping like a bitch now so it may well be I'm not actually ovulating but having a secondary lh surge before AF which I have heard can happen sometimes. That's ok if so! Means my cycle is coming back and I can chart. However I would like to know as I am finding this totally mind boggling!

MissyEm · 18/06/2017 21:53

Good luck Mctufty and Frowning Flamingo!!

FrowningFlamingo · 18/06/2017 20:25

Haha good luck McTufty!
We started again today now AF has finished. Most likely far too early but we are going for the every other day approach as I've not long had my implant out so don't want to rely on cycle length and I'm too lazy to do OPKs. Send some baby dust this way please!

MummyGofboys · 18/06/2017 20:00

Haha good for you my lovely. Fingers crossed xxx

McTufty · 18/06/2017 19:56

mummyg
Deed done, with some fertilecheck fertility gel! Not what we fancied doing in 28 degree heat, but needs must Smile xx

FairyAnn · 18/06/2017 19:52

Adriana I always test the first wee of the morning. I'm currently testing every day as a baseline

MummyGofboys · 18/06/2017 11:38

@McTufty eeek that's a positive. I'm sure. How exciting. Get on hubby now xx

McTufty · 18/06/2017 11:27

Tell me I'm not going mad - this is a positive OPK right? I can barely believe it! It's a weird time (4 weeks after stopping pill) and i've had some sticky CM. I think I'll summon him in from mowing the lawn just in case!

I'm so excited if I am ovulating!

missyem

It only takes once!!! Do what you can. I understand your frustration though.

MummyGofboys · 18/06/2017 11:22

I only started tracking in the 19th of may. The first day of my last period. Ovia worked pretty well for me. If you have sex every second day it covers you for if you don't know when you ovulate xx

MissyEm · 18/06/2017 11:08

ThursdayBlush, window starts today according to Ovia. But it is based only on data input since stopping pill on April 29th.

MummyGofboys · 18/06/2017 11:00

@MissyEm have you DTD recently? Soe lives up to 5 days xx

MissyEm · 18/06/2017 10:44

Feeling low, DH is working silly hours at work and my 5 day window starts today and he is it not around. I was so excited for this week to come, I am afraid that we will miss the opportunity if we only manage DTD once at some point.

MummyGofboys · 18/06/2017 10:35

@Mrstobe90 twinges are very normals o yet and not panic. Everything is growing very fast down there. I'm shattered and in a grumpy mood today lol. DH had taken the boys out for the morning and I haven't sat down lol so much washing and cleaning to do. I would love a little girl but just happy if it's healthy. Not going o find out this time ad this is our last baby. So going to try and make it as special as possible. Are you finding out? Xxx

Mrstobe90 · 18/06/2017 09:49

MummyG well done on doing tough mudder!! I would never even dare to try lol!
I'm getting stretching pains too but every time I get a twinge, I get a teeny bit nervous. After seeing how common MC is, I'm so scared that this bubba won't stick. Going to be as healthy as I can though for it.
I've not booked with a midwife yet. Got my appt for my GP on tuesday :) Fx it goes well!!
It's so exciting you're having your third!! Are you hoping for a little girl this time? xxx

MummyGofboys · 18/06/2017 05:36

@Mrstobe90 ahhh very clever idea. No one will know!!! Also you can just play the bride card and say you don't want to spoil the day by drinking too much. You don't really have a chance anyway. I'm ok. I'm extremely nauseous and getting stretching pains already. Must be because it's my third. Very exciting though. Can hardly walk after tough mudder yesterday. Had it sunk in yet that your going to be a mummy? Did you get booked into midwife? Xxxx

Mrstobe90 · 17/06/2017 22:10

Magpie We're going to stick Shloer in a cleaned out champagne bottle lol sneaky sneaky :D

MummyG I'm good thanks :) had my bridal shower today which was fun! Felt like I was gonnna puke for a good half hour, but other than that, it was great lol How're you feeling today?

OP posts:
MummyGofboys · 17/06/2017 17:14

It's hot here too which is good as dried me off between icy cold obstacles lol xx

Magpie24 · 17/06/2017 17:01

@MummyGofboys wow well done! It's far too hot for exercise here, I'm lolling in the park!
