How Long Did You Take To Get Pregnant?

Hi...

I am currently in my first month of TTC. I was on the contraceptive pill before this and I have had one period. I use an App to track when I should be ovulating and believe I just did last week. I DTD 4/6 days of ovulating...

I just want to see what other people's experience with how quickly they conceived.

I am 21 years old and healthy.

Thanks

It happened for me within one month when I was 19.

But, and I mean this in a nice way, not a judgemental one, are you sure you're ready for a baby at 21? Because while I was probably ready mentally for a baby when I got pregnant, in hindsight the relationship I was in just wasn't stable or supportive enough at all really. If I could go back that's the one thing I'd change, I don't think that age is necessarily a problem, but I think the age I was I hadn't been with my boyfriend for very long and didn't have a lot of relationship experience, it felt stable, he was saying all the right things - but if I was honest with myself I didn't really feel secure and safe in the relationship. In hindsight, I had so much time and I wish that I had waited to see how the relationship developed before I came off the pill.

Mumsnet has a great Relationships board which really helped me work out what I felt, perhaps it would help you too? There is really no harm in postponing this decision for a few months or even years, if it's what you want to do. Time and biology is very much on your side!

First time every time although 3 of my 4 pregnancies ended in mc.

Trying again having come off the pill in April- had my first period and hopefully ovulating now so fingers crossed!

For DC1 I was 28 & it took almost a year.

With DC2 it took about 5 minutes Grin. Literally the first time of trying, which was a bit of a shock. They are only 16 months apart.

I think it took about four months to get pregnant with DC3.

It's different for everyone & you can't predict it. Good luck!

2nd try, after a decade spent presuming I'd have trouble because my periods are hugely irregular (disappear for months, skip months, 7 week cycles, all sorts). In a way it may have helped because I had paid quite a bit of attention to my cycle over the years so I had worked out how to tell when I was ovulating. So no messing around with ovulation kits or charting.

Good luck!

I'm 22. Took the pill from 13 years or age and got pregnant ON THE PILL. whilst taking it properly no sickness or diarrhoea etc. I'm now 13 weeks. Good luck on ttc I'm sure it won't take long! Try to relax. It always seems to be the people 'trying' and tracking. Can have difficulty because you're stressing. Try to enjoy the trying x

Hey. Everyone is different. I'm 23 and very healthy. Took me 2 years to conceive which then ended in miscarriage at 8 weeks. Currently on my 4th cycle since miscarriage. It's extremely hard to say when you will conceive, some take 1 try while others take a bit longer.

Good luck xx
