Thanks Kezza fingers crossed for you.

Bbabymama ? sorry to hear about your DD exciting that your BFP is 4 days late!! Fingers crossed.

Bbabymumma · 28/03/2007 12:16

Hi all

I've been out the loop for ages because my dd has had vomiting bug so have been too busy clearing up mess but have been missing the chats!

Congrats Cazzybabs!! V.happy for you. There have been no bfps for a while - this is good news.

My AF is 4 days late!? Did test yesterday and BFN but same happened with 1st pg until week late. Boobs killing me and nauseas - but wouldn't you be if you've been clearing up vomit for days??

Just been reading the thread - Kazza hold in there - you're in limbo like me!

Awen - how is ds and work? Haven't been in all week and feeling slightly bad. What can you do?

Beansprout sorry to hear AF arrived.

MrsMCEb and Waiting4bambino hello - lets hope this is the month!

Peachyclair - any luck with finding schools?

kazza25 · 28/03/2007 10:37

Wow mrsmceb! you truly are the font of all knowledge!! have no idea about when i ovulate, but usually i have a 28 day cycle and we just kind of aim for midway to ttc. that said, since last october i've had 3 long cycles now, last month 6 days late, october 2 weeks late and this month.....we'll see. maybe i haven't ovulated those cycles. if i am not pg this month, i think i may have a chat to the gp (about the irregularity, not the not being pg iyswim)
i'm sorry to hear about your m/c.....i wish you lots of luck (and fun) ttc again.
for today though : cheer up! i alwayd find that when i have a fat/tired/grumpy day that a good walk in the fresh air does me the world of good.

MrsMcEasterBunny · 28/03/2007 10:21

Yes I was Jhyesmum but I?m glad it helped! Hope AF doesn?t arrive for you.

Waiting4bambino ? thanks DH and I love that name but it?s well and truly taken for us now as we always called her that when we spoke to her Irony is, she was probably a he but we?ll never know . Tabitha?s unusual, I don?t know anyone called that Thank you for the nice things you said, I do try to be positive but I?m not having a good day today I feel fat and grumpy plus tired and have too much work to do and no motivation to do it, just a bit down about things I guess. If you don?t like grapefruit juice, I wouldn?t bother taking it until AF is over as you don?t need it before that I hope AF stays away for you too.

Hi Kazza how exciting that you are late! It might just be too soon for your BFP, do you know roughly how many days before AF you normally ovulate? 8% of ladies don?t get a positive until 18 days after ovulation and some even later. Fingers crossed!

kazza25 · 28/03/2007 09:42

hi girls, have been reading your updates with interest! thanks for the welcome. af now one week late so am totally tormented. did one test last thurs (one day late) and one sat, both bfns. can't bring myself to waste yet more money so am determined not to test until (if and when) i get to 2 weeks late as that is the latest af has ever been for me, last oct....when i wasn't ttc. i'm having lots of tiny aches/cramps/twinges in my abdomen and the sides of my boobs, but i just think af is on the way when i get them. think we should have a new smiley for a frustrated face!!

waiting4bambino · 27/03/2007 22:49

Hi MrsMcEasterBunny Ava is such a pretty name - actually one I had thought of as a "possible" choice, along with Tabitha! Although, most of my names seem to be boy names! I really admire your strength in sharing all your experiences on MN, it must be so hard to remain positive at times.
Thanks for all your info regarding the grapefruit juice! I will get some as soon as I can and start it when AF gets here, as I assume she's on the way this week.... And I think I will start with the thermometer, as I haven't had much luck with the wee ovulation sticks! To be honest, I never thought it would get this indepth! I just thought it would be a bit of good oldfashioned rumpy pumpy and a month or two later I would be expecting!!!!!

This next week will be torturous for me! I've got the symptoms of AF already, so am turning into "knickerwatch"!!! Especially at work when i have a moment's peace and someone hasnt brought their newborn baby in to torment me!! There was 2 in the office today, everyone cooing and passing them round, and I was just like, when is this gonna be me????? AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!

Thanks again for all your help, I'll be logging on regularly to check who'll be graduating to ante natal or the April thread (fingers crossed its the ante natal!!)

jhyesmum · 27/03/2007 18:43

Blimet McEasterbunny!! I bet you're knakard after that!!! i've just learnt loads!

Well, AF is due any day now.

MrsMcEasterBunny · 27/03/2007 10:03

Hi Awen ? thanks for your thoughts every day I get a bit stronger, sounds mad but I really miss my baby I loved just knowing she was there, growing. However whilst another will never replace her (just my gut feeling, we called her Ava) a new baby would certainly help DH and I recover from losing her Glad to hear DS is feeling a bit better, I hope he is good for your Mum today. Don?t be hard on yourself hon, you want a baby and there is a space for one that you desperately want to fill, it doesn?t matter that you have your DS already, when the urge is there, it?s strong! I really hope you fall soon. 20 sessions!!! That?s good going! That poor egg doesn?t stand a chance of not being hit.

Hello Waiting4bambino ? wow! You could teach us newly weds a thing or two I bet! I suffer from Transfurryence too I have 3 furry babies, all pussy cats who I adore!! The wicked trick of nature is that AF symptoms can be so like pg symptoms and vice versa, it?s that Ole devil progesterone!! Some say they just have a feeling they are pg, I never got that, I really didn?t expect a BFP when I got one but it was fabulous! I can?t wait to get another I hope you are wrong and that this is your month!

Happy to help I?ve been obsessed with TTC since June now, I?ve read so many books and tried so many odd things but it has not all been uphill, I?ve met some incredible ladies on here, and so many of them, the sisterhood really is strong! We?ve had some great laughs along the way and somehow, the laughs are even better when you?ve also shared the tears. TTC does definitely have its upsides! Now, grapefruit juice! It has properties (I could quote you the science but I?d need to look it up) which make your body fluids more watery and therefore, if you do not have very much fertile quality cervical fluid (the stuff which looks like egg white) then it can help your body turn the fluids you do have into the good stuff. The good stuff is needed as a conduit for the sperm to live and swim in until it reaches the egg (or whilst it is waiting to ambush the egg!). Don?t have more than a glass a day and it?s only worth taking for these purposes until you ovulate each cycle. Of course, it does count towards your 5 a day so you could continue after ovulation but an alkaline environment is better for conception than an acidic one. You can mix it with other things like orange juice if you don?t like the taste of it (I personally love it, especially with vodka ).

When you ask about a check up, do you mean a specific pre conception check up? Most GPs wouldn?t entertain it but you might be able to convince them to check certain things e.g. you might want to check that you are immune to rubella, that your smears are up to date, that your blood pressure is ok etc. There is a good section on this in ?What to expect when you are expecting? but don?t let it stress you out, most of it, an NHS doctor would not test you for, maybe they would privately if you wanted them to. The book is worth having actually as it covers a lot of things for now and for when you are pregnant.

I have used a saliva monitor but I never got it to work for me, the most I saw was a few intermittent ferns, not as many as I would have liked to seen. I would say that these, ovulation predictor tests etc are good as back up for your own findings if you are taking your basal body temp (first thing in the morning before you do anything else and at the same time each day) and charting that along with the changes that you see in your cervical fluids but all these things can really stress you out and be counter productive. It depends on the kind of person you are. I personally love temping (and we have whole threads on here dedicated to it, feel free to join, we?ll teach you all you need to know! ) and feel that it has given me control over my body that I never had before. I was on the pill for 18 years and did not have a clue about my cycle, charting taught me so much like, that I do and when I am likely to ovulate each cycle, when I am fertile, when I am not, how many days there normally are between ovulation and my period (the luteal phase) and therefore when my period is late so that I can test. I?ve hardly used any tests using this method and all it costs you is the initial price of the thermometer (which you can buy in Boots specially for purpose from about £13 ? one of them has a leaflet about temping in it) and if you chose to buy it, the software which is about £30 but is not essential. You can do it very easily on paper and there are also sites that offer free charting facilities. We post our charts on here and compare them daily

There is a great book on all of this called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler.

Phew! That was long, hope it made sense! It?s a whole new education but we?re here to help you if you think you?d like to give it a go!

Good luck everyone!

waiting4bambino · 26/03/2007 22:32

Hi Mrs McJnr, thanks for your welcome! Yes, this is my first attempt at ttc! My dh and I have been married for 8 years this year - can't believe its been that long! He is 6 years older than me, and as I'm 29 this year, kind of felt that now is the right time. To be honest, I've craved a baby for a few years now, but pushed the feeling aside until I kind of had a crazy breakdown last year, and we then agreed that we should try! I've had various pets over the years to fill the gap!
Anyway, as many of us seem to do, I have been feeling like AF is on the way, really heavy stomach and dull ache. I really thought that this was gonna be my month this time, as I've had some strange tightenings and stabbing feelings quite low down and I imagine to myself that this is a baby forming!!!! How shocked will I be when it finally happens!
I will be so grateful for all your support and tips too - can you tell me what grapefruit juice is meant to do? I don't like it but I will drink it if it will help!!! Do you think its too soon for me to go to the doctors for a little checkup?

ALSO - has anyone tried those saliva ovulation tests, and if so, how effective are they? If anyone knows anything about the temperature charting, is it simply taking your temp each morning and recording it?
Good luck to everyone for this month!

MamaMaiasaura · 26/03/2007 21:10

Hi again all.

Mrs McJnr - hadnt realised u had a mc - so sorryxx
DS lots better today thanks.. actually he's been a cheeky little imp and I started to get cabin fever

Trying not to think about work tomorrow as really quite cross about it now.

I have had a good think and decided i am far too emotional at the moment and very tearful and easily fraught. Therefore I am over dramatising Havent got that much to moan about in all honesty as loads of people in worse situations so I am very very sory xxx

Was lying in bed with ds (7) still read stories and snuggle him and started crying cos we had been grumpy to eachother today and I feel so guilty for leaving him with mum tomorrow to go to work and I spent most of today doing sodding housework. Deffo homronal or just a general pain in the ass

No BD tongiht he is out.. ah well think we have mananged 20 so far this cycle

MrsMcJnr · 26/03/2007 14:01

Hello Awen you?ve got a lot more on your plate than me, I?m not surprised you are in a hurry! How is DS today? Any better?

In my experience, it?s always worth yet another try, you never know! I chart my waking temperatures and watch my cervical fluids as these together really give you an idea of what is happening when. Before I got my BFP, I charted for 7 cycles (having just come off the pill after 18 years!) and could clearly tell from that when I ovulate, how many days there are between ovulation and my period arriving and also which days are my most fertile. I love having that knowledge! Some people say it would stress them out but for me it is the opposite, it calms me down when I feel panicky! For example, I know that I have not ovulated yet this cycle because my temperatures are still too low (progesterone after ovulation makes them higher) plus I have not had great quality fluids. That said, I think my body probably just needs some time to settle down after my MC, it?s only been a few weeks .

There are quite a few of us who chart on here. If you?re interested, I?ll post the link. A really good book about it is called ?Taking Charge of Your Fertility? by Toni Weschler, it?s well worth a read

I?m TTC my first baby. DH and I are both 33 and we got married in June last year and have been trying ever since. I got my BFP at the end of January this year but sadly miscarried at 10 weeks.

Progesterone can make your boobs achy by the way, that?s why lots of people get that symptom between ovulation and AF even if they are not pregnant (hope you are though! )

Cazzybabs ? it?s the software that comes from the above book, it?s really good usually but at the moment it?s just out of sync with my body. Can?t see how I could have ovulated yet though, my temps are far too low I know what you mean about the temp taking but it is amazing how quickly it becomes a habit and you never forget! I think pre-seed is great too. Ladies ? you can buy it on accessdiagnostics.co.uk and there is a special offer on at the moment spend £5 on goods and get 5% off ? the code is snow5% and if you spend over £150(!!) you get 10% off ? the code is snow10%. The codes are valid until the end of the month.

Beansprout ? sorry hon hope April is your month!

MamaMaiasaura · 26/03/2007 11:07

beansrpout. Sorry AF arrived xx will priob see you on next months thread too.

Still no AF here. No idea what is going on. Tested over weekend - bfn. CD30 here (CD26 on clomid). Think I will leave it another week or so. Wondering if sore boobs etc was a sympton of ov, still a little achy tho not that much at all now.

beansprout · 26/03/2007 09:27

I found those early weeks really hard. Lots of symptoms are good though, so long may they continue! I had a constant crampy feeling, and it drove me half insane!

Am ok but we have been trying for this baby since June so I'm finding the constant failure quite hard. I'm 37 now so don't feel that it will just magically be ok at some point.

Am off to buy some grapefruit juice....! Thanks for the chat, hope you have a good day

cazzybabs · 26/03/2007 09:24

Fine. I keep thinking AF is about to come! My boobs are a little sore, definatly bigger and I keep thinking "oh I feel a little sick". I am sure its all in my head. Anyway - apart from MN we are not telling anyone in case I have another mc. I am trying really hard not to plan....

How are you doing?

OP posts:
beansprout · 26/03/2007 09:20

Hmm, will have a google and see what I can find.

How are you feeling?

cazzybabs · 26/03/2007 09:19

It is a sperm friendly lubricant.

OP posts:
beansprout · 26/03/2007 09:17

Thanks CB. I've heard of that stuff - what is it?

cazzybabs · 26/03/2007 09:16

Beansprout . HAve you tried pre-seed (I am sure it was that that helped. You can buy it off Ebay.)

OP posts:
beansprout · 26/03/2007 09:15

Got my period this morning so am out of the running for (yet) another month

cazzybabs · 26/03/2007 08:52

MrsMcJnr - your software!!! Can it be wrong? Mind you I have never understood tempterture taking...to scientific for me (she ays having a science degree) I would be rubbish at remembering to take my temperture evyery day. I would leap out of bed needing the loo and think oh bugger...

OP posts:
MamaMaiasaura · 25/03/2007 21:23

MrsMcJnr, what a nice post u put me to shame I am always a bit crap at this and hurry them too. Lke in rl - I speak b4 thinking!

U are on similar CD (am cd29 or cd25 from 1st day of clomid) to me. DP still wants to BD tonight .. just dont want to stop 'just in case' iykwim. I still am sympton spotting which I really shouldnt do as am pretty sure not happened for us this month,. tbh I think I should be over in the april thread too altho that month looks like a wash out cos wont be starting 2nd clomid cycle till the middle of april. This is the first month that I have been as obsessed tbh, I think it is because i saw clomid and magic fix it pill .

How have u been testing of ov. U might have ov'd and not known it (I am ever hopeful). tbh I know very little about everyone on this thread, as in if they already have had dc or if they are on any treatment, how long trying.

Just out of my 20's I am blessed to have had ds (7) naturally. Was completeyl unblessed with horrid PND. Been with my lovely DP for near 3 and half years (known eachother for about 14 years). Hoping to give ds a sibling.

MrsMcJnr · 25/03/2007 20:38

Gillian ? sorry to hear that hon, I hope April is your month and that you spend your due date feeling very first trimester! Sounds like the reflexology had a positive effect though. Enjoy the book!

Cazzy famous last words from you ?I don't think I am pregnant this month - feel life AF is going to start tomorrow or Monday
so I might pop over to April...if that is OK!!!? So happy for you hon! Hey don?t say there?s bad luck associated to this thread!!

Hello Latenightowl sorry to hear you are feeling crap. Temps sound good fingers crossed for Weds.

Alittlebitshy ? I?ve posted for you on the other thread at length hope you are doing ok.

Sorry to hear you have been having a stressful time Peachyclair All those acts of fate seem hopeful though!

Hello Beansprout I?m left but think that I?ll be the last to leave this thread and move to April as no sign of OV yet and I?m cd25, even my software has told me it?s not waiting for me to OV anymore and is classing me as infertile for the rest of this cycle!

Awen ? glad DS is feeling a bit better and sorry to hear that work are being difficult hope AF stays away for you.

Hello Kazza ? welcome!

Welcome Waiting4bambino ? I?ve been where you are hon all the things you are feeling are really natural we?ll support you and keep you going tell us a bit about yourself? Sounds like baby number 1?

waiting4bambino · 25/03/2007 18:43

Hi all, I'd like to join if poss.... I've been ttc since Nov after 10 years on the pill, and my period is due on 31 March. Last month I was four days late and wasted loadsa money on tests, only for it to arrive with a vengeance! I think this is a great site for info and chat with people going thru the same thing. It seems to me that my friends and people at work arent actually interested unless you are pregnant! And once they know you're trying, each time you see them, they say, pregnant yet then?! And then I have to say no, actually. I hate it! Have been really jumping ahead of myself - walking down the baby aisle when i go shopping, looking at outfits, even checking out moses baskets and buggies! I can't stop hoping, but hate each month when its a BFN! I have to stop hoping so much and then it should become easier.

cazzybabs · 25/03/2007 16:10

MEant to go for 4 then.....

and actually more support for your ds when you are in your old age.

OP posts:
PeachyClair · 25/03/2007 16:01

No thats fine- but actually he's reallye asy to live with! He's of the passive ASD variant (thankfully- DS1 not so much LOL)

Weird stuff going on here- ever since we decided to TTC things have been changing around us! DH has dropped out of a hobby that controls much of his time voluntarily; car packed up and needed to be replaced (local garage wrote it off- grrr) so we had to give in and gett eh 7 seater.... all bizzarre! Even DH's workplace has put him onto a more family friendly shift system.

Weird.
