Oh and I seem to be her good luck charm. When she conceived her ds1, I was staying with them and this time, she has conceived when I was on holiday with them. Just need to find my partner in conception - someone else is stealing my babydust!

bluestar · 16/07/2004 18:06

xoz and mrsflowerpot, sorry af arrived
Looks like I will be joining you too. Still spotting but temp has dropped. Thought AF was not due til Wednesday (that would fit in with FF temp chart for 14 days) but seems as if I have had a short luteal phase this month. I always cling onto a glimmer of hope that af will not come properly but sure she will turn up soon. Also feel equally crap as best friend just announced she's 12 weeks pregnant. Don't live in same country so easy for her to keep quiet and I asked her not to tell me as soon as she found out as knew I would feel these s**t emotions. Well done to her though, first month of trying for her 2nd. Wish we could all be that lucky On the slightly brighter side, dh has gone to buy me chocolate!

Azure · 16/07/2004 18:04

Sorry to hear your knews Mrsflowerpot and Xoz . Hopefully next month will be your lucky month. Piffleofagus - AF is due for me at the end of the week and I'm going to a wedding on Saturday too (night away without DS!).

Piffleoffagus · 16/07/2004 15:05

I have PMS and the pre AF skin blemishes starting up... Still not due til next Saturday, when I'll be away at a wedding, partying, ironic...
Sorry to all who got Af too
hugs xx

malinki · 16/07/2004 14:35

Staceyk
I'm right here, everything is crossed, but you must be pg , I'm not going anywhere!!!
C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another Metformin baby eh, mine will be 4 years old in a couple of weeks. My tests were very faint. I'm holding my breath, need more news from you stacey, have you mentioned it to DH/DP at all yet and if so, what was his reaction???

Bibi20 · 16/07/2004 11:04

Thanks for the tip lostinparis, I read that about epo / starflower oil somewhere too - also a recommendation to take flaxseed oil for the second half - but not had this confirmed... anyone know?

Azure - I'm cd1 today too - can't decide if knowing it was coming made it easier or not? This month my dh is away from cd 14 - 16, however o'd on day 20 last cycle so might be another long one which would be good...

Have a great weekend and lots of luck to anyone having a busy weekend!

foxinsocks · 16/07/2004 10:52

sorry Azure

fingers crossed for next month

lostinparis · 16/07/2004 09:56

I'm interested to hear that it seems common to take EPO (or Starflower oil which sounds much the same) as over here (France) my gyneco prescribed EPO for really bad AF problems (worked very well) but since trying to conceive have been told to take it only until ovulation (ie not between ovulation and AF) in case I am pg as it seems it can increase the risk of m/c (eg see www.drugdigest.org/DD/PrintablePages/herbMonograph/0,11475,4010,00.html) - may be worth bearing in mind and err on the side of caution by taking it only for half the month.

Azure · 16/07/2004 09:39

Well, looks like I can drink at the wedding I'm going to tomorrow. AF has arrived CD30 as expected . DH was away from CD15, so I guess it shouldn't be completely expected. I really hoped it would be my month, though - time is really starting to run out.

Oh god, had a dream last night that I was pregnant and woke up feeling so depressed that it wasn't true........want to go home and not deal with bickering idiots at work

Tex111 · 16/07/2004 08:24

Congrats Staceyk!! I'm so pleased for you. Can't wait to hear about your blood test and your hubby's reaction. Have a great weekend!

Welcome Cobweb, a few of us are in the same boat. I'm waiting for my first AF after a D&C too. Good luck to you!

As for the whole 'when are you having a baby/having another baby' issue, DH and I were married for ten years before we had a baby so I had a full decade of those questions. Absolute nightmare. I'm not exagerating when I say that in those ten years if I ever said to my Mom 'Guess what..' her immediate response was 'You're pregnant!!!'. About five years into the marriage DH's parents actually took us out to dinner and very formally asked us if we ever planned to have children! When we said that yes, one day we would like to have a family they started buying toys and kept them in a big box in the loft until DS was born.

Just waiting for my temp to drop here and AF to arrive. I'm 10dpo today and would like to make it to 12dpo, so fingers crossed.

xoz · 15/07/2004 23:38

Guess what...AF arrived this morning
Oh well there's always next month

mitzi · 15/07/2004 21:30

Thanks Cindii and lostinparis for telling me about fertility friend, I have had a little lokk at it but haven't had time to read it properly, I registered but dont think I will bother with temping yet. i got my period on monday and usuallt have a 28 - 30 day cycle so does that mean I should be bd around 14 days after my period started, sorry to sound dim but with my last 2 pregnancys i got caught pretty easily but my body is definately not the same since my misscarriage last year.

xoz · 15/07/2004 21:20

Congrats StaceyK. What fantastic news!!!!
It's such an encouragement to hear that after trying for so long it's finally happened for you.
Also welcome, cobweb.

Seabird · 15/07/2004 21:15

Very best of luck StaceyK, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.

I'm approaching ov which with my unrandy DH tends to be my most stressful time of the month! He was home from (business) travelling last night for a few hours and managed to do his duty, thankfully. I thought maybe I had ov'd as my temp dipped yesterday and then was higher today but the OPK didn't show a surge either yesterday or today. I wonder if the OPK could be unreliable as I never seem to manage the recommended 4 hrs beforehand without peeing (even in the night) - or is that just wishful thinking? (Anyone know how reliable they are?) Well hopefully I can persuade DH to have another go when he gets home tomorrow night anyway...

mrsflowerpot · 15/07/2004 20:46

Well, CD28 and here is AF. Not too much of a surprise this month, to be honest, and at least the waiting was short. Off to drink white wine and eat choc tonight!

Good luck to all still waiting. And congratulations CBIY!

Bibi20 · 15/07/2004 17:52

I just bought starflower oil today (started spotting so think af is definitely going to be with me soon, therefore have stocked up on everything recommended on mumsnet!) apparently it is much stronger than evening primrose oil in terms of GLA content (GLA is the active ingredient in epo - don't ask me what it does though!), on my new bottle it says 240 mg per 1000 mg, whereas the epo had only 130 mg, so you don't have to take as much...

Fingers crossed StaceyK, can't wait until Monday!!

katierocket · 15/07/2004 16:55

that's truly brilliant news staceyK

Azure · 15/07/2004 16:53

Cobweb - hello and welcome to this thread.

OP posts:
Azure · 15/07/2004 16:51

Many congratulations Staceyk . I look forward to hearing the official confirmation of this great news.

OP posts:
lostinparis · 15/07/2004 16:24

Bluestar - what does starflower oil do?

runtus · 15/07/2004 16:18

Bluestar, Dh is really against temping this early on so I think I will stick with the 'natural' route for another month or so. If nothing after that, I'll start on the whole Ov testing and temping thing....

Hopefully I'll be lucky before then. How is it all my mates happened to fall pregnant whilst still on the pill if it is this hard to do it deliberately!!?

Staceyk · 15/07/2004 15:49

Thank you very much, although I'm still not believing it, Malinki's experience is still strongly in my mind. I won't really believe it until I'm told by a real person, other than a piece of plastic. I'm not going to say anything to DH until I hear from hospital tomorrow, and I'm out tomorrow night and he's at his parents so all being well I should break the news to him Saturday.
I'm just very impressed & relieved that I will find out for sure 100% tomorrow I thought I had a long wait ahead of me.
This is when you truly realise how great mumsnet is, when you can't talk to anyone else.
I thank you all.
Afraid you'll all have to wait until Monday for the offical verdict though

lostinparis · 15/07/2004 15:44

Congratulations StaceyK! Looks like we may have this week's graduate - do tell us the news tomorrow afternoon.

Cyndii · 15/07/2004 15:43

Ohh Staceyk I actually held my breath reading your message!!!! so delighted for you

WELL DONE!!
