Uki what a nice post. Good luck to you and your little one

Uki · 03/04/2007 11:17

Hi Everyone
Oinker- nice to see you, good luck with the diet and your plans for the future, it will all happen

Catbaby- hugs hun, it is so hard with all the other people around, I've probably told you i had 3 different close friends pg with each of my m/c and It's very hard at first, always the what if's. You will get pg again though, your body has already told you it can, so it is inevitabile to happen again.

Hi to all the new people and
Hi to Mrs Mc, Rahrah, Gill, wheely,Peanut, feedme and anyone who remembers me who I've forgotten.

Update from me, all well at 20 week scan (time has gone quick now), it was a big relief, but made me feel very emotional too, so much anxious tension from past m/c has come back since. It's all such a rollercoaster but good preperation I suppose.

I haven't been able to do yoga this time, but I recommend it for TTC and pg, it helped me alot before.

Anyway enough from me, wishing you all a happy easter and healthy happy baby vibes.

peanutbutter · 03/04/2007 08:22

good morning everyone. catbabymummy - i think we all experience that feeling from time to time; just this weekend i suppose i did feel indifferent, like you say, but i tried not to dwell on those feelings too much and they're now passing. Maybe you just need a short break from the ttc threads? Don't stay away too long though

popsy - i've got the G&B's recipe book too but haven't tried to make anything from it yet. Are the brownies easy to do? I make my fudge using G&B's lovely dark chocolate and it's sooo much nicer than with ordinary plain stuff.

I'm a bit envious that some of you can meet up in RL. I don't think any of you are near Lancashire are you?

Dh bought me a copy of Victoria Hislop's The Island - has anyone read it? It's not the sort of thing I'd normally choose, but he saw it on the Book of the Year programme the other day and said it sounded like I'd enjoy it. I'm nearing the end of Untold Stories by Alan Bennett but I've still got Fast Food Nation sitting reproachfully on my bedside table and really want to read that before starting anything else.

Hello to everyone else this morning

oinker · 03/04/2007 07:24

HELLO.

))))))))))))))))))HUGS(((((((((((((((((((((

I have been a bad person, lurking about once a week.
I have been trying to negotiate a start time for TTC again. We have decided for end of July.
I am off on hols at the end of the week. Doing Milan and Rome. I am going to make the most of it as when I return I will be starting the Lighter Life diet programme. I am going to give this weight loss a mega blast b 4 going back to see Lesley Reagan. WW has really slowed down for me. i have been naughty. I did lose just over 3 stone. I need to do a few more.

I do miss MN but I was stressing out a lot about what decision to make and seeing all of you guys TTC an conceiving was just making it a bit diificult to make the right choice.

GOOD LUCK with all the TTC and pregnancies.

Catbabymummy · 02/04/2007 21:44

Today I ate a Cadbury's Cream Egg.
I also found a colleague is pregnant, and she is due end of August, which is when I should have been due
It is CD16 for me, and unlike last month when by this time I was so impatient, I really am quite indifferent feeling. I just don;t beleive I'll ever have a baby. I think I'll go pay a visit to the Hut....

and I meant spotting on the TV too, not in RL though the Edinburgh Festival is great for Star Spotting!

Brownies YUM, Green & Black's cookbook - wow! how I'd love that, must not buy that until I resemble a pipe cleaner!!
Long walk will make you feel much better I've been busy eating all the things off the banned list too!

popsy76 · 02/04/2007 15:48

MrsMcochayethenoo sounds great will also put some of your cheer up ideas to the test -though a bit of a shortage of hot totty in rural hertfordshire at the mo - we have had the girl of party of five bring her dog in and the queen did come to visit once - actually my most famous bloke was Jarvis Cocker when I was still at Uni - he was most unimpressed with my chat up lines but I did get a great photy to show the grandkids.

Maybe if I go for a long walk I can justify big slab of brownie that has been maturing nicely over the weekend (they just get better with time don't they - from Green & Blacks recipe book - every ones a winner )
p.s. I had lush red pepper and goats cheese tart for lunch - think were runny eggs in there too - just needed a prawn or two and big glass of chardonnay and I'dve really been kicking the PG habits to the curb!

MrsMcEasterBunny · 02/04/2007 15:24

Popsy - Of course, love that museum! I studied in the building next door and would often come across tigers and snow leopards in the lane between the two probably the ones you?ve met! Let me know when you are up and I?ll make sure I am free for a coffee/lunch/wine it would be lovely to have a RL chat! Glad your pg friend was lovely. My BF cancelled meeting me at the last minute again, I really think she doesn?t want to see me until after her baby is born. She?s 33 weeks at the mo

Alternative vices you can try a few of mine if you like:

? Aromatherapy bath oils, lotions and potions
? Massages and facials
? Hunky actor spotting ? current favs being Sawyer from Lost and Christian from Nip/Tuck
? Lots and lots of sleeping

Beckledspeckledegg ? my DH is from a village near there and I?ve been there for dinner so I know exactly what you mean , it?s lovely

BeckleSpeckledEgg · 02/04/2007 15:03

Was Dalhouise MrsMcEasterBunny - absolutely gorgeous place, amazing restaurant (there was nothing I liked on the menu - am v v picky - so they made me something especially - it was gorgeous) - room I was in had a covered well in it! Thought I was in heaven in the library!

popsy76 · 02/04/2007 14:58

national museum of scotland (have an appointment with an amur tiger and snow leopard...don't ask )
God I'd love a coffee with someone who understands how I am feeling- though if it was today I'd just be blubbing all over you (I'll let you know when I'm heading up in my transit .)
Just had email from my PG friend - she was very very lovely - i think she was glad that I finally told her how I was feeling phew
trying to think of an alternative vice to food (the usual hang ups but will be MEGA depressed if get even fatter) or alcohol (makes me cry and sometimes get cross and say bad things to the people I love - need DH on my side at mo though )
Advice welcome - funnier the better - I could do with a laugh!

MrsMcEasterBunny · 02/04/2007 14:34

Thanks Becklespeckledegg ? on the basis that the appointment on Thurs will be a waste of time probably as even if the results are available, the Dr won?t have had a chance to consider them, I think I will go on the trip and meet her on 17/4. I should be able to get the results in the meantime and I?ll look out for a cancellation. If they are +ive and by some incredible stroke of luck I get a BFP, I?ll get an emergency appointment and hopefully things will move faster anyway. Dr did say that if I have a blood clotting issue, I will be considered a high risk pregnancy and I?d be referred. The brownie points with work will be invaluable too. Thanks for the advice hon, I do hear all that you said. Wonder which Castle you stayed at, any of these Dalhouise? Dundas? Borthwick? Niddry? we have lots of castles.

Popsy ? glad you are feeling better, just keep flicking back to us and we?ll help you through the day! NMS? I?m Edinburgh based Popsy ? fancy a cup of coffee?!

popsy76 · 02/04/2007 14:32

ooh makes me think of ian rankin books. That said have just cried into keyboard for last hour...god am all over the place! Have to fit a meeting in now before i get upset again then I can go home early!

BeckleSpeckledEgg · 02/04/2007 13:22

Glad you feeling better Popsy. I think the sunshine helps - makes me feel more positive anyhow! I am not actually in Scotland, I just wish I was ! Am down in the South East. Agree that Edinburgh is lovely though! Went there years ago and stayed in a lovely castle a few miles outside the city.

popsy76 · 02/04/2007 12:57

Hi
starting to feel better this afternoon - i think is shock of being back. Just cried on phone to a student and had to put it down yikes - poor thing better email her and explain .
Going to canteen to find comfort in some chips. Got my PG jeans on today and very comfy - have a long vest over the top so no one but me knows (well they are very cool ones from top shop and I hate all my others as make me feel mammoth!).
Oh god am crazy...maybe some sunshine will help (though I got sunburn yesterday sitting eating lunch in pub - bliss!)
Thinking of you ladies in scotland - I'm a geordie originally (you'd never know now) so am off to N/cle on Friday for family fun (if can face it). Have to do some work at NMS in edinburgh soon too - I LOVE it there!
xxx

BeckleSpeckledEgg · 02/04/2007 12:31

Morning MrsMc - glad you had good weekend! Lovely weather here too, and today although DSs are refusing suncream so are inside fighting instead of outside letting off steam! With regards to work if I were you I would probably not go, docs appt FAR more important! Esp with your worries about blood clotting. Orkney really is beautiful, not just the place but the people and the atmosphere too. I would love to live there and it is something we have considered many times but is a big move! Bless you with lovely grey eyes! Sure they would be if they were striking grey but they are more sludgy with a bit of blue and green thrown in for good measure!
Popsy - sorry being back at work is hard, I found going back sent me a few steps backwards too - I think it is because when you are at home you are in a safe cocoon but when you go back into the real world it brings back to you what you have lost. I am sure you will be pg again soon even if it doesn't feel like you'll ever get there. I have days (and weeks...) when I feel just the same.

MrsMcEasterBunny · 02/04/2007 12:04

Becklespeckledegg ? so glad you are feeling positive about things. I like your plans to tempt fate You weren?t being insensitive at all I know you all know exactly what I mean! You are right, we have no choice other than to be patient. Grey eyes, how lovely! My Grandpa?s Orkadian but I have never been, something we must do. Was outside for most of the day yesterday, it was glorious! Sorry about the health visitor, that?s awful!

Eggs4easter ? I really think you should get checked out hon. The trying for a year rule does not include after a MC in my book and you?re going for a very specific reason asking them to check you, please go hon. I can totally see where you are coming from, my Ava box has the diary I wrote, a baby gro I bought for her, a free cow from Cow & Gate and a free baby changing mat for Prima Baby. In fact, I also traded in my Nectar points for a year?s subscription of the magazine just before I MC. I?ve not received any yet but figure I can give them away to pg friends until they are worth keeping myself again!

Peanutbutter ? I do sometimes have days when I feel quiet and I don?t log on those days but most days I do I never feel I can?t face it but I must have been lucky, no one?s ever been anything but lovely to me on here so maybe that?s why. Sleeping?s not a waste of time in my book at all I felt so tired when I woke up this morning in spite of sleeping 11 hours both Fri and Sat night. Only the usual 8 ½ last night.

That?s good about the OPK Wheelybug ? hope this is a lucky cycle for you!

Gillydaffodil ? wore some new clothes on Sat, does that count do you think? I am Catholic too but in spite of wanting to go to church, I can?t at the weekends because our local priest is horrible. It?s a long story but he nearly sabotaged our wedding for very selfish reasons. I was shocked that a man of God could behave the way he did. Anyway, I go to the cathedral in the City when I want to go .

sorry Popsy - CD means calendar days. Thanks for your advice Sorry you are feeling down hon. We?re hear to listen if you want to have a rant

popsy76 · 02/04/2007 09:58

Oh my god it all sounds so complex - what are the CD numbers? I am new to all of this!
I think you have too much on your plate already. If I was me I would go on the work thing, worry the whole time and blame myself if anything went wrong. I now know that body and sanity is more important than work without a doubt!
Just think - you would cancel the trip if you had flu or some other medical complaint so why not just make an excuse for this one and take the pressure off?
sending big supportive hugs
xxxx

MrsMcEasterBunny · 02/04/2007 09:51

Having a dilemma ? work want me to go away on business this week Weds & Thurs. I am meant to go back to my GP on Thursday to discuss my test results. The results were meant to be in already and my plan was that if they were negative, I?d postpone the appointment and go on the trip but if they were positive, I?d stay. Health comes first I think.

There is now a spanner in the works! The local hospital did not have the facilities to do the test so they have sent the blood to another hospital and the results are not back yet. I thought that this made my decision for me as my GP asked for a few days to look things up after the results. This would mean Thursday is too soon to see her but the next appointment is not until 17/4. When I explained this to the receptionist, he said they could call the hospital tomorrow to see if the results are ready and then still come in on Thursday but they might not be in and the Dr might not have time to look up what she needs to and therefore the appointment might be pointless. Work need to know today whether or not I can go to make arrangements.

I really don?t know what to do. If I have OVd this cycle, it was on cd28 (now on cd33 or 5dpo) and so if I have managed to get PG and have this blood clotting issue then I would be 20dpo on 17/4 and therefore in a riskier position than if I knew already I had the condition. That said, I wouldn?t be testing until 12/4 and would have to see the GP again after that anyway to find out what I need to do so in reality.

Help!

Now I?ll catch up on what you?ve all been saying and then post again!

popsy76 · 02/04/2007 09:41

Morning everyone! first day back at work and is horrid already - want to go home! Family annoying me and feel like have gone back 5 paces since Friday when I was feeling so positive. Waiting for AF is so frustrating and spesh as have no idea if will be successful (ever?)
Would be nice to have a sign on me saying "handle with care" but is no cure for how I feel except time and of course a new PG (a good one this time please!).
Went to pub for lunch yestersday - was full of mums with new borns arghhh sure they weren't there last time but maybe is just am noticing now - do you think they know how lucky they are...maybe some of them have been struggling with MC too? Read loads of trashy mags my sister left behind was a section on WAGs who have found it hard to have babies - made me feel worse as most took at least 3 years to get there - I'll be completley insane by then and out of a job ha ha. Thank god the students are away - no way I could cope with them in this state!
Have a good day everyone xxx

BeckleSpeckledEgg · 01/04/2007 21:53

Hi all, hope you had a nice Sunday! Very relaxing one here, did some ironing, DH cleaned windows and DSs tired themselves out on the trampoline! Don't know if it is Spring in the air but am still feeling quite positive! Makes a change for me!

Eggs4Easter - I am sure the docs won't turn you away for being silly but IKWYM about worrying they'll find something wrong. It's probably just your body taking it's time to recover from what it went through last year but if they do find something wrong at least you'll be on the way to getting it sorted. It is frustrating when your cycles are irregular, you have no idea when you ov or when AF will arrive. Mine are also very irregular but cycles are much longer than yours - my last was 69 days.

Peanutbutter - I don't tend to have days when I can't face MN (although am fairly new still...) but there are days when all I do is lurk on the threads I'm on without posting. Just to keep up with how everyone is. Hope you enjoyed the sunshine today - makes a nice change from rain!

Wheelybug - Hi! Hope you had a lovely hols and have come back nicely relaxed! Great news about the positive OPK - very reassuring! Fingers crossed for your laptop too!

Gilly - Your new cardi sounds nice - hopefully it will bring you some luck!

Hi All

Just a real quickie as laptop is still kaput and dh's work pc is still at home.... haven't time unforetunately to read through to find out how everyone is but am thinking of you all and hoping you're all feeling ok.

I am on CD24 ish, got a positive OPK this month a week ago so feel happier that things are at least working better than last month. Only time will tell.

May have laptop back up tomorrow if Dell can fix it down the phone. I am missing Mumsnet now I'm home from hols and you all !!

peanutbutter · 01/04/2007 11:28

hello all, it's been a few days since I logged in and now i'm sitting with my mug of coffee catching up on everyone's news. Does anyone else have days when they just can't face MN? The majority of the time I have a warm feeling about MN, i've been posting for 2 years and lurking for about a year before that, and the vast majority of people are warm and friendly; but just like in RL there are those that - well, - aren't! Having a break from MN here and there helps me keep it in its correct perspective iyswim.

Anyway. Gilly - glad to hear the reflexology left you feeling reassured. I started reading up on reflexology a few years ago with the vague and woolly purpose of learning it, but it fell by the wayside as these things often do

beckledspeckledegg - i'm open minded about the afterlife but i'm glad your experience gave you comfort - I would have found enormous comfort from it too.

MrsMcJnr - hello! glad you're feeling less tired than when we last spoke. I place a huge premium on sleep - I immediately notice the difference if I can't have at least 7.5hrs. I often go to bed at 9pm (or earlier) just so I can read a little then get plenty of sleep. Sometimes wish I could be like Margaret Thatcher and function efficiently on 4hrs or whatever crazy amount she said she had. I sometimes feel I waste loads of time asleep in bed!

feedmenow - not sure about your question but it seems beckledpeckledegg experienced similiar which went in its own time. But like she also said, have a word with your Dr if you're worried .

I have to get ds lunch ready now because we're then dashing out to enjoy the sunshine. Hello to everyone else and welcome to the newcomers.

Eggs4EasterFertilizedPlz · 01/04/2007 11:01

thanks everyone for your kind welcomes

popsy - i havent been back to the doctors about the infection part of me is very scared to a) be turned away and feeling silly and b) that they actually will find somthing wrong with me.
it hasnt been a year yet so im trying to give it some time. i was thinking of going back in june when we have been ttc a year. i tried to go private when i found out i was pg but bupa dont cover you unless somthing goes wrong but boy did i wish i had taken the policy out! i had my treatment at the L & D and boy was it shocking! i was treated as nothing!
you sound like you had a wonderful day the other day. im pleased your spirits are lifting

beckle - that sounds so lovely and reassuring what the clairvoyant told you, i suppose it must give you such an overwhelming sense of peace? my periods arnt that regular the shortest was 22 days longest 31. at the moment they seem to be 26-28 days.

feedmenow - i remember your name from somewhere were you on the ttc threads? sorry to hear about your traumas. i would get yourself checked out if the pain is bothering you. sorry im not much help.

mrsmcjnr - helllloooooo! im so sorry your frustration is creeping in by the lack of af its so annoying when you are waiting around and have no power to influence it unlike when we are ttc. as hoprrid as it is some women go a few months before it arrives and some a few weeks. i pray that it will be sooner rather than later for you ((hugs))
i completely know where you are coming from with regards to lealets etc - as soon as i found out i was pg i applied for every freebie going online and didnt receive a thing until i mc then they seemed to be flooding in. i found it very hard at first especially when some of the leaflets from huggies and pampers counted down the weeks to go. i made up a little box and i have kept everything in it all the leaflets and doctors notes so i still have the memory of how happy i was for the 12 weeks i carried my baby. a little crazy i know but it helped.
