I just want to ask about this crazy symptom spotting... not that I can bloody miss it! Today I've been getting some cramps which I wasn't sure if it could be pre-AF stuff or gas... this evening, the cramps have intensified and I'm getting this horrible, sudden sharp shooting pain, right from my womb and sort of into my vagina?! Never had anything like it... what's going on?! Shock

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 05/05/2017 20:10

Hey confused - welcome back. I hope everything is going ok.

Thanks for all the well wishes. I rang the docs earlier to check what I'm meant to do re registering with an obstetrician and they want me to come in tomorrow. Think it will be like a booking in appt and they also confirm preg with a blood test. Hopefully get the dates for scans too. As far as I know you get them once a month or so from about 6 weeks here and they confirm gender with a blood test too but not sure. Will find out tomorrow I guess.

Good luck for testing tomorrow mummy!

wiggley fx the cramps and pains mean something is happening. How many DPO are you?

When are you testing orange?

buzz that's exciting that your hen do is almost here!

Welcome back confused hope you had a lovely holiday with the family.

Good luck in the new job mrsC, I'm glad it sounds like it's going to be interesting.

Wiggleyfingers · 05/05/2017 19:10

Ahhh hey everyone Smile
Feeling lots of love for this thread today!

MrsC how many weeks are you now? It's rubbish that you vomited again! Do you feel better immediately after?

Grumpy It's lovely that you're having a harmony scan, I think that's a great time to have one. I think I'll do the same! So if they have to send to the lab for results on the sex...how will you find out? Would be exciting if they tell you in a letter! Or you could do a super cheesy reveal with balloons or cake. Grin

Good luck for tomorrow Mummy
Symptoms sound promising.
I keep getting strange dull cramps and aches, particularly on my left side. Probably imagined. I keep checking my Ovia to see if I usually get cramps that side or if I'm crazy symptom spotting! Annoying, I rarely enter much data this side of ovulation until it gets just before AF. I'm logging everything now so I can get a return ticket from crazy town next cycle. If I don't get bfp this month.

Penguin27 · 05/05/2017 18:09

Massive congratulations parsnips!!

Great news about the job MrsC.

Sorry about your DH's friend otters Flowers

MrsC2017 · 05/05/2017 16:49

Hi girls! Mental day I've been assigned my new job so loads of messing about with thrashing out notice periods and trying to get my prebooked holiday approved! My new role sounds very interesting, I won't have a clue and be totally out of my depth and would actually like to have had a good run at it without mat leave but life happens so what will be will be!
parsnips amazing amazing amazing!!! Huge massive congratulations to you!! 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 wonderful news, how exciting!!
otters I'm so sorry what difficult news coupled with AF, life is so cruel sometimes, xxx
confused welcome back, hope. Mummy was able to reassure you!
buzz how is your hen do already!!! Time has flown!
mummy really hope this is it for you this cycle, you so deserve it!
grumpy hmmmm.... Could U lie and say it's something to do with your DDs school or something....Also camping trip sounds lots of fun!
dancing hope AF clears off ASAP!
orange really hope it's your month girl, 9dpo....when are you testing?

Thinking takeaway tonight..... Then I have to stop, this poor baby has had an awful diet! I vomited this morning also.... Really Thought I was done with the sickness but brushing my teeth is so ridiculously difficult and results in gagging and heaving..... Sorry for the mental imagery!

buzzmoon · 05/05/2017 15:40

Welcome back confused! What does that mean sorry? I'm sure you'll be okay! ❤️

Mummyme87 · 05/05/2017 15:33

Welcome back confused hope you had a lovely holiday and feeling chilled. From experience I have seen minimal problems with low papp-a, I suspect you will have extra growth scans which will be reassuring. I know our trust offer induction at 41/40 for low Papp-a

confusedat23 · 05/05/2017 14:50

Hey Ladies... sorry i have been missing i went on a family holiday!

I need to catch up with everything but just want to say congrats to Parsnips and so sorry Otters

I got my screening results back and although they are low risk my PAPP-A is very very low at 0.31 and so i've got loads of extra appointments but really scared about Placental Problems and Preterm Labour =(

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/05/2017 14:18

Hmm unless I just don't put it in the system until after I tell them..

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/05/2017 14:17

There's no way around taking it as holiday for me because I'll already have to work from home the previous Friday for my NHS combined bloods. As I'm keeping it secret from work, although you are legally entitled to the time off, not sure how I'd explain a middle of the day appointment (well, 2) that can't be moved..

Mummy that sounds so encouraging! I had lots of white CM too. Fingers crossed for you and orange x

DancingUnicorn · 05/05/2017 14:02

Buzz if you ring at least you can ask them to clarify the meaning of the wording. Sounds to me like anything previously known about is off, but otherwise you're good?

Really, really hoping this is your month mummy.

For obvious reasons, I rather regret having taken my scan date off as holiday. Don't think I will next time.

Bit bored of af now. Want to get on with the shagathon! ;)

Mummyme87 · 05/05/2017 13:38

orange and buzz I don't know how I'm feeling about testing tomorrow. I have it in my head it will be a BFN, I've just lost all my positivity. Had loads of watery EWCM like stuff but white in colour this morning... whatever that means.

buzzmoon · 05/05/2017 13:35

hb I'm off on my hen do next Saturday! Can you believe it's come round so quick!

grumpy I really wanna do the same, that sounds so lovely, will deffo take the morning off I think! That sounds so exciting telling all the mums! :) they'll love it!

orangefolly · 05/05/2017 13:04

OMG parsnips so exciting, huge congrats! A particularly major milestone as you are the 'mother' of our thread Smile

Otters I'm so sorry for the big disappointment and your DH's loss. Particularly horrible as you are on holiday. Hope you are doing okay Flowers

I'm 9dpo. How you feeling today mummy? I am nervous about testing because every BFN is so disappointing. Fingers massively crossed for us both!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/05/2017 12:55

I've got the day off on my scan date, I've taken it as holiday (instead of my birthday when work was too busy). Gonna make a nice day of it and then we are going camping over the long weekend with some friends (a group of DD primary school parents, we are still close). So I'm going to tell them then, they will be so excited! All their kids are older too, and they are around 10-15 years older than DH and I, so they'll be very excited to have the prospect of a newborn in our midst!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/05/2017 12:51

Hb I won't find out at the time because they have to send the blood sample off to the lab, I think it takes a week. I'm going on my own as the actual appointment isn't that interesting! DH will come with me to my 12 week scan though, which is on 26 May.

Parsnips I understand, it's a daunting prospect and it's hard to imagine being out of control of the process. Having said that, it probably won't be as bad as you think, and if you want more kids in future, I'd consider the risks of multiple sections. I'm saying this as a total control freak myself, so I do get it. I get very anxious when I'm physically out of control, but I'm hoping that I can even enjoy the birth this time now I feel confident as I've done it before (I didn't have time to worry the first time around as it was so fast!). But it's different for everyone. I suspect if I'd had a difficult first time I'd be asking for a section rather than a home birth like a mad hippy.

HbH · 05/05/2017 11:54

Haha buzz 8 kids is INSANE! I'm one of 6 and my mum looks after my 1 nephew now and cannot imagine how she did it x 6!!

Just checked my hol insurance out of interest and it's EXACTLY the same as yours buzz it must be the same one, or that's standard confusing wording. Sadly no trips planned tho! Where are you off to?

Cannot believe you get to find out the sex in 10 days Grumpy ! Is DH going with you?

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 05/05/2017 11:49

Grumpy the idea of labour scares the shit out of me. I'm just going to ask for a section. It's all private over here anyway so the insurance will cover it and I'd prefer being able to just pick the date. I'll speak to the doc and see what they say nearer the time. I just can't see me coping with a birth (first world problem I know).

OP posts:
buzzmoon · 05/05/2017 11:22

jb maybe I'll ring them up to tell them just in case anyway

mummy how are you feeling about Saturday testing?

buzzmoon · 05/05/2017 11:21

hb i know!! I follow someone on insta who has 8 kids?! How the hell would you get through pregnancy with another 7 little buggers running round!

tigger hope you enjoy the sun! And hope af doesn't arrive tomorrow

grumpy don't know what to do dates wise so waiting till next Tuesday to firm up. I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow. Wait it's Friday! 12 weeks today!! Woop! 🎉 thanks for insistence help- so you think I'm covered? As I've not got any issues. I might ring them just in case. I mean hopefully nothing happens anyway but nice to have it. Also only going to Europe so covered with that Ehic card thingy?

Yes I was wondering about confused hope she's okay!

JB1983 · 05/05/2017 11:17

Unforeseen Complications of Pregnancy and Childbirth: Toxaemia, gestational hypertension, pre-eclampsia, ectopic pregnancy, hydatidiform mole (molar pregnancy), post partum haemorrhage, retained placenta membrane, placental abruption, hyperemesis gravidarum, placenta praevia, stillbirths, miscarriage, medically necessary emergency Caesarean sections/medically necessary termination and any premature births more than 8 weeks (or 16 weeks in the case of a known multiple pregnancy) prior to the expected delivery date.

This is what my insurance says would be covered.

While we are on the subject of insurance: do you need to inform your insurer that you are pregnant?

Mummyme87 · 05/05/2017 10:31

buzz I have no idea what that insurance doc actually means. I know some insurers won't cover pregnancy.

grumpy looking forward to meeting you!

9dpo.. nothing really to report.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/05/2017 10:21

Sorry actually I think it means normal pregnancy or birth is not covered at all because it's not unforeseen. I think they make the wording confusing on purpose

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/05/2017 10:20

Buzz it means if your pregnancy has already been classified high risk, and anything happens, even normal birth, you aren't covered. If you get complications for the first time on the trip, you are covered. If you had any issues before you left and then had complications on the trip, you won't be covered.
