Hope you're feeling better soon grumpy.

Para - please stick around. And do keep sharing how you are feeling. We're all here for each other.

Sorry your doc was a bit abrupt confused. Must be stressful.

I've had a few twinges this morning, like a sort of sharpish twang in my left side low down. Does that sound normal? I've heard that cramping is absolutely normal. Not painful but enough to make me take notice of it.

God, I'm actually too tired to sleep. I started to wonder if this is how babies feel when they've gotten overtired and restless 👶🏼

TheGrumpySquirrel · 09/05/2017 23:20

Thanks mummy. I can't remember if I'm resistant to cefalexin or amoxicillin.. damn. I guess I could call my GP to check. Trimethoprin was what worked last time. Anyway hoping it's not a UTI just feeling a bit off in the plumbing department. Also my boobs are leaking colostrum! A small amount but still I'm amazed it's this early. Off to sleep now, hotel room is lovely.

Mummyme87 · 09/05/2017 22:42

Cefalexin is normally a good antibiotic at any stage of pregnancy and amoxicillin. Not nitrofuratin grumpy

TheGrumpySquirrel · 09/05/2017 22:16

Para so nice to hear from you and feel free to vent your emotions on here, that's what this thread is for. Hope AF shows soon!

Mummy I was so exhausted I could barely stand from 4-7 weeks - thankfully it has been better since then!

Buzz thanks for the encouragement! It's so wonderful to be able to share my excitement with you girls.

Landed safe after a non eventful flight, quite a good feeling! Can't wait to snuggle up in my hotel room and I'm looking forward to a massive breakfast in the morning - I somehow only had crisps for dinner!

Unfortunately worried I may have the start of UTI symptoms (after DTD last night..). Anyone know what the safe antibiotic is in pregnancy? When I get UTIs I get them very badly and fast. To complicate things I am resistant to one of the common UTI antibiotics. Fingers crossed I can stave it off by drinking lots of water and sleeping lots tonight. Workday doesn't start till 11:30am tomorrow - it's Spain!

buzzmoon · 09/05/2017 21:31

para nice to see you 🙋🏽 please don't be a stranger, we're here even when you're feeling like poo! Sending lots of love and hope af turns up soon ❤️❤️

Okay guys don't get a Fitbit!!! You can't have a sneaky nap without it knowing about it and recording it!! 😱😱

Parastars · 09/05/2017 20:49

Hey everyone!
So lovely to see the BFPs! Absolutely amazing to miss a few days and then see the good news when back on!

Just a quick one to say I'm still here (sometimes), just trying to keep up every now and again. I'm now 7 weeks post erpc and still no sign of af, which is making me struggle to cope emotionally at the minute so I don't want to be a negative Nancy with you lovely lot on here.

Hopefully I'll be back when I'm back in action! Love to you all x

buzzmoon · 09/05/2017 20:36

penguin tell your DH to do one! I've been in bed every day by 8:30 at the latest!

mummy think we dtd twice in the whole first trimester 🙈

Mummyme87 · 09/05/2017 20:25

grumpy hope the work aspect of Barcelona isn't too heavy and you enjoy your relaxing weekend on the beach.

parsnips definitely jealous of your glow. I have a spotty forehead 😖

My boobs are actually really sore, very sore, I'm weeing a lot and quite tired. OH is glad we can dtd when we fancy and not when a stick tells us, unfortunately I'm so tired with sore boobs it's the last thing I want to do..

Penguin27 · 09/05/2017 20:22

Forgot to add... I'm definitely going to bed now! 😂

Penguin27 · 09/05/2017 20:21

Glad it's not just me with the exhaustion. DH is telling me I can't go to bed!Angry he seems to think I'm just making excuses to be lazy!

Hope you have a safe flight and nice time in Spain grumpy

I love that Jupiter, it's really amazing to think that us pregnant ladies have got something so special inside of us!! I agree with buzz and Hb, it doesn't really feel real and hard to imagine there's actually a baby growing in there!

HbH · 09/05/2017 19:49

Have a great trip Grumpy PLEASE bring back summer with you? Had to make an emergency trip home for more knitwear earlier! Oh, and THE BOOBS?! 🙋🏻 I didn't really have much to write home about before but they're supersizing!! Thing is, DH can't really take full advantage cos they hurt!
(.)(.)

penguin i have been exhausted literally since POAS! I was astounded how soon and sudden the symptoms came on! You don't get broken in gently!

Ah jupiter that's a really cute thing to say about the babies being with us all the time, doing everything we do! I hadn't thought about it like that! (Don't think I'll think if it as a 'baby' til the scan!) I think it's going to be really weird towards the end when there's a full size baby in there!! So weird!

Hope the new job start goes well MrsC I'm sure you'll be settled in in no time! It's strange how the roles can vary so much!

I'm definitely feeing less symptomatic the last few days, less tired, no nausea etc, hopefully it's the placenta becoming the command centre and not me!

buzzmoon · 09/05/2017 19:30

grumpy hope the weather is nice!! You'll be keeping your tan up from LA! ☀️

buzzmoon · 09/05/2017 19:29

Awh thanks everyone! Keith's feeling very loved ❤️ so excited for Friday jupes! I really thought it would feel more real after the scan though, and still doesn't! Still feels like a dream

Wow grumpy your work is non stop! Glad you've got some proper relaxing time! And yes to your five year plan! So excited for your scan and test!!

parsnips that's lovely! My skin is awful at the moment

confused I'm so annoyed on your behalf! Sounds like the most frustrating appointment ever! Hope she's having an off day! . I'm sure everything will be alright though

mummy by the sounds of it, everyone will find our straight away so maybe wait till you're ready :)

hb I had jam on one and Nutella on the other 😋😋😋

mrs sounds very stressful. Make sure you're looking after yourself and not worrying too much ❤️

penguin unfortunately the exhaustion is definately the worst part I think! It has deffo got better, although fell asleep on the sofa this afternoon!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 09/05/2017 19:24

I also have that fear MrsC like they will judge me as being crap as soon as they know because they assume that pregnant women must be distracted / stupid / not that into their work. It's like admitting a biological weakness (I know it's actually not but argh i feel like it is seen that way - it highlights that I'm not a man basically). This is what I was struggling with last night because I didn't get to enjoy my first pregnancy as I was 18 and terrified and got judged.. now I'm 31 and scared of screwing up my career and being judged!! So I've got to say fuck it otherwise I'll just end up resenting my work. I'm so happy to be having my planned baby with my husband, as I wanted this time!

I'm on the plane to Spain.. will send some pics! 👙😎

MrsC2017 · 09/05/2017 19:03

Thanks ladies, I'm sure it'll be fine it's just new job dread.... As U said confused better the devil you know! It's in the legal sector.... Of Which I have zero experience in, I'm coming from education, but that's the nature of this panel, you could be assigned to any government department and its just random! I think if I wasn't pregnant I'd be really excited about it, u think I'm just nervous that they'll turn on me once I tell them even though that is ridiculous and all in my head, I'm just afraid if I'm Crap at the job that I'll also be Crap and pregnant which somehow in my head makes it worse!

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 09/05/2017 18:54

Ooh that will be an exciting week Grumpy! Can't believe how fast everyone's pregnancies are progressing.

Tbh I don't see the 'glowing' but I won't knock it. Just thought it was very coincidental timing!

OP posts:
confusedat23 · 09/05/2017 18:05

Penguin I know but i have seen a few doctors over the years that have played down my blood issue and actually she took that very seriously which i guess is a good sign!... i think I am going to stick with her though as it's always better the devil you know!

I am supposed to see her the whole way through Mummy but she requested for the receptionist to change my 25 week appt to a midwife instead but when i got to the desk the receptionist refused to as apparently due to the PAPP-A levels i should be seeing the consultant instead Confused... so i'll be seeing her the whole way through... do you think your colleagues have like the mothers instinct? They just know!

HB i'm trying to take it that shes just blunt but was trying to play it down to stop me from panicing

Thats ok Mrs whats the new job doing?

Thanks Jupiter honestly all you ladies make me feel so much better about everything! It's like i am never going through anything on my own!...

Grumpy i'm hoping so too!.. i literally think its so lovely the relationship your DH and DD have btw! The fact that you know he will be so much support to her is just amazing!... also its normal for children of that age to have at least one parent working in a full time environment so i wouldn't worry you and DD will be fine! P.s. I am jealous of the boobs... mine havn't grown at all!!! Also about the consultant i'm trying to reassure myself seeing her will be better next time

TheGrumpySquirrel · 09/05/2017 17:49

I mean I've got harmony on 16th! Yay.. so will probably know Grin

TheGrumpySquirrel · 09/05/2017 17:35

Thanks for all the work encouragement MrsC and Jupiter best of luck to you too! I'm trying my best not to care what they think and going to work really hard just so I can aggressively argue a pay rise (while heavily pregnant) at year end, save loads for the next 4-5yrs while DH is a SAHD then semi retire to the beach and start my yoga business! I want baby squirrel to be able to run around on the beach with our dogs (which we will finally be able to get) and I want to be able to spend time with him/her.
In the meantime DH will be able to also help DD through her GSCEs and A levels, hard to believe she will be 17 in 5 years! I hope I can also prioritise some time with her too. If DH becomes a SAHD I can't justify working 4 days a week unfortunately!

Confused I'm so angry on your behalf - that's so mean to patronise you just because she sees these things every day. I'm hoping for your sake she was just having a bad day and will be nicer in future!

Parsnips I'm jealous of your glowing skin! My hair has been growing at an amazing rate (It was a chin length bob in December!! Now almost touches my shoulders!) but I have lingering spots, particularly on my cheeks for some reason.

All my other symptoms have disappeared except for my humongous boobs 😂 DH is a fan, I'm still getting used to them, I guess they will only get bigger from here!! I don't feel pregnant at all, so it's feeling more and more abstract that there is actually a baby growing in there.. I can't wait to see him/her on the scan - also I may know the sex by the time of the scan already as I've got Harmony on 19th and scan on 26th! Ridiculously excited for that week.

HeyJupiter · 09/05/2017 16:56

grumpy that’s so difficult and I totally empathise about the need to prove yourself extra hard at work. It’s so unfair to work in an environment that makes you feel like that though. Sod it, the yoga retreat sounds like the way forward. You’ve got all of us on this thread who will be coming to visit :) I hope the flight goes okay.

confused I’m so sorry and disappointed on your behalf at the behaviour of the doctor you saw. I mean, obviously I am so relieved on your behalf that it doesn’t seem like a major worry at present, but you are well within your right to have asked those questions and she should have handled it much more sensitivity. I hope that once the sting of all of that wears off you can relax a little and enjoy the fact it sounds like everything is on track with your little one Flowers

Yay parnsips, wish I had glowing skin. I’m covered in spots. Lovely compliment though and bet you look great. Pregnancy clearly suits you. I am yet to bloom.

Hb all your posts keep making me laugh out loud. Your question about what crumpets buzz and keith were having (Keith gets his name in bold now!) made me smile. I find it really funny that our babies basically have to do whatever we choose to do each day and have to blindly follow us around. I know that sounds daft but it makes me happy. My little secret that I carry with me everywhere (physically and emotionally). How are you feeling buzz?

MrsC don’t be sorry! You’re so busy and it must be such a stressful time. Hope you’re okay. You will be fine, you just need to let yourself grow into the role. They can’t expect you to know everything before they’ve even shown you how to do it. Hope you’re okay lovely.

Penguin fingers crossed the spotting stops soon. You’ve got a nice pregnancy test result so am sure all will be fine. I was exhausted from the day I found out I was pregnant Grin plus you’ve had a busy day and emotionally finding out you’re pregnant is a huge deal.

Penguin27 · 09/05/2017 16:40

Hi MrsC! Sorry that work is busy and stressful for you right now. I'm sure that you'll get settled into your new role quickly and will be able to relax Smile

Yay for the pregnancy glow parsnips!

Thanks dancing, I work in financial services but thankfully not in accounting, it's just too much for my brain! I made it through the day and now hopefully never need to look at a balance sheet again!

Thanks for the reassurance about the spotting, and fx for you too jb! It's pink spotting, but Ovia expected AF today so maybe it's just breakthrough bleeding. I'm trying not to worry! Is it normal to feel this exhausted at 4+6?!

MrsC2017 · 09/05/2017 16:10

Hi girls sorry I'm not getting on here as much as I like, finishing work in a week to start new job and it's all very stressful/terrifying!! Have so much loose ends to tie up as well as reading up on my new position, it's daunting as I know nothing about the department or what exactly my role is so I feel awful for being absent on here and missing the news it's just all very full on atm!
penguin and mummy huge congratulations to you both, I'm over the moon! 17th of Jan was my Edd with DS but he came on the 2nd!
buzz ahhh look at Keith, I love it! U must be on top of the world!
grumpy I'm feeling similar, also desperate to prove myself in my new role and not sure when to announce that I'm pregnant, have appointment on the 13th of June so I imagine I'll have to tell them immediately! Finding it all very stressful!
confused sorry your consultant was dismissive of your concerns, that's not helpful or reassuring but I'm glad things don't seem to be too worrying!
parsnips how lovely to get the glow! So exciting!

HbH · 09/05/2017 15:17

Aw hello Keith very photogenic! You must be over the moon Buzz What did you and Keith have on your crumpets?!

Sorry your experience wasn't great confused very insensitive for the consultant to act like this especially when dealing with a first time mum who will have no experience herself😡

Penguin hope the spotting calms down & you can start to relax easier said than done

Glad to hear you happiness is showing on your face Parsnips ! I'm definitely yet to bloom😂

Mummyme87 · 09/05/2017 15:15

Sorry you such a horrible consultant appt confused. Will you be having all of your spots with your consultant or any with a midwife?

First day at work since my BFP and I feel like everyone knows! I know they don't but just feels like it. I was tempted to self refer today but feels so early still. I think I'm only 4weeks tomorrow. AF hasn't shown up and with the darker line today on test I'm guessing all is going well but just feels so soon!!
