We are a bunch of ladies who are either

  • humping (TTC)
  • by humping yet (waiting to TTC)
  • humped (BFP)

And everything in between!

We've had 8 BFPs since January (and counting!) and we love a bit of lucky lube and a squinter on 9DPO - come and join the madness!

Thanks wiggley I am gettting rather excited. OH isnt very in touch with his emotional side and the last few times he's actually brought up talking about babies etc. He said he cant wait to build the nursery furniture up and have little family days out which is always refreshing to hear!

Otters aww no?! Bad planning indeed...I'm hoping I would've caught by honeymoon but I'm not getting too hopeful as I have the worlds worst diet and I know these things can intefere with conception. I wont be doing a test until I am back from honeymoon because I know I wont be able to contain myself if I do fall quick.

MrsC I know it seems to come round so quick now...I remember when I come off in January and thought to myself 'God this is going to be the longest 15 weeks of my life until May* but just over a week left and I'm so excited.

Anybody recommend anything? I've read so much but theres so many stories since I joined MN I've forgotten all the little hints and tips you lovely ladies have said along the way?

DancingUnicorn · 19/04/2017 12:54

I can't even claim I missed... I just forgot! Thing was sitting all clean on the side of the bath. Probably for the best, no real need to test atm! It'll probably just make me more eager!

MrsC2017 · 19/04/2017 12:41

Hi girls,
Back from few days away, was lovely to get away, but I was so exhausted the whole time, like physically tired, everyday feels like I've just tackled everest at the moment! Have been reading but Internet was crap so my posts wouldn't upload! Been feeling a bit overwhelmed by everything so hoping that feeling will pass, I think the emotional side effects have ramped up this week too!
wiggly how exciting to have your dress fitting! You'll have a ball on your wedding day and plenty of time to ttc after!
laura yours is so soon now too, and ttc is starting very soon, exciting times ahead!
tigger so sorry you're going through all this and they keep delaying you, really isn't fair x
dancing Crap! It's so difficult to wee in them tiny cups! You'll have to get some of hbs pint glasses! I think the counselling is an excellent idea and you are right to remove the possibility of extra anxieties as much as possible so waiting until after AF is probably best.
seven sounds like you're covering all bases, Fx for you!
confused that's lovely that the baby is bring you closer to your family! That definitely happened when DS was born, he is the ultimate light in my families life and has brought so much joy in his 7 years.
grumpy I'm so glad you're feeling more positive! Even if you start feeling anxious again at least you know next time it will pass as quick as it came in.

I have decided on the travel system I want too and I'm quite happy to get it second hand as it costs a fortune new, only problem being its rather rare it seems, it's the icandy peach jogger, there is no end of regular peaches but this one is the all terrain version with three wheels and not so common it seems so will have to set some money aside and keep my eyes peeled and pounce when it comes up!

otters2017 · 19/04/2017 11:56

tigger glad you're feeling better and you got your bfn. Sorry about scan being postponed. Hopefully you'll definitely get it tomorrow

wiggley wedding plans sound great, won't be long now. How exciting to be planning a baby shower too. I probably won't resist shopping for myself!

dancing glad your oh is super chilled. Will be a strong rock of support going forward.

seven keep humping Wink

laura hope your wedding goes well and Fx for a honeymoon baby! I had AF during my honeymoon, a real bummer. Should have planned for my FW!

Happy Wednesday ladies. Not long now till the weekend again Smile

HbH · 19/04/2017 11:20

Oh no dancing ! The only thing i could find to wee in were plastic pint glasses left over from a party.... you absolutely can't miss those 😂

Rubbish you've been postponed again tigger

Excellent humping seven

DancingUnicorn · 19/04/2017 11:00

No! Urgh. :( Do you have a definite time at least tomorrow?! I'm so sorry. How is the pain? Are you home today at least? Hope you're taking it easy. Sorry it's dragging out so much.

My epic fail of the morning. Was going to test again. Stood up after first pee of the day and realised my little pee collection cup was still empty. Useless! Must have been half asleep.

Tigger83 · 19/04/2017 10:47

They can't scan until tomorrow Confused

Wiggleyfingers · 19/04/2017 10:39

Good to hear from you again Laura! Ahhh 1st May is so soon! I've decided to count down AF's until ttc, makes it seem less for me!

Buzz not sure if we'll have a theme, probably not just a pretty girly afternoon tea. Smile

xlaura · 19/04/2017 10:19

Morning ladies,

Took a little break off the replying for a little while but still been keeping an eye on everybody's post. Congrats on all the announcements it all sounds great..super happy for you all.

Wedding day is 6 weeks on Saturday and I'm slowly starting to shit myself a little more everyday with the worry of it all 👀😂 me and OH have agreed to stop using condoms on 1st May (rubber is causing me to have major soreness downstairs and there absolutely awful things haha!) and guess what..1st May is my fertile window according to my trusty little app so who knows if it'll catch on the first attempt. I'm not a big drinker and won't be going wild on weddding day or honeymoon but I also won't test until I'm back from honeymoon if AF doesn't make an appearance.

Not getting too excited about anything yet just incase it doesn't go to plan but I'm so excited to be joining the rest of you getting BFPs. I cannot wait to start buying baby things it's killing me a little inside haha.

buzzmoon · 19/04/2017 10:15

wiggly that's very exciting! Will you have a theme?

Wiggleyfingers · 19/04/2017 10:08

Fingers crossed for your scan Tigger. What time is it?

Seven I get the same looming dread about the first day back. It's always worse after summer when I feel like I've forgotten how to teach!

I've been asked to organise a baby shower for a friend! I'm really excited because organising and planning is my favourite and it gives me the best excuse to browse the baby shops. Will try my hardest not to do a Confused and come away with lots of bits for myself! Maybe just a few!
If you have any great ideas or been to any lovely showers let me know! So far I've just planned for the guests to bring a children's book and write a message in that, rather than a card. They can be picked up fairly cheap, new or old and hopefully will be more useful! Smile

Seven0fNine · 19/04/2017 07:30

Morning everyone :)

Hope you're all OK and tigger sorry you've had a shitty few days.Hopefully things are on the up now.

So far so good Hb since AF finished we've done Friday, Saturday, Monday so going to dtd again tonight. Hopefully DH won't be too tired after work.

Back at work now and although it's fine when I get there I have such overwhelming dread before going!!
Glad you are back Wiggley xx Lovely to hear your wedding plans.

Glad all the announcing is going well.

buzzmoon · 19/04/2017 07:21

grumpy so exciting you've got your appointments! jupiter You're right about the disparity! It's crazy! Especially hb's crazy receptionist!

dancing sounds like you got a good one there with your oh, very supportive :)

tigger really pleased about your bfn, you're onto the next step now which is good ❤️ glad your garden is coming along well! My DP is off for the next 2 weeks before he starts his new job. There's loads of stuff for him to do in the garden but I'm worried I'm going to come home and he's going to have pulled up all my strawberries or something!

DancingUnicorn · 19/04/2017 07:07

That's fab news tigger. Really hope the scan shows everything is ok and you and oh can start looking forward. Glad the pain is a bit better, hope it eases off properly soon.

Tigger83 · 19/04/2017 06:45

Morning all, thanks for your lovely support. Feeling a little better today still in a bit of pain but no where as bad. The really great news is I got my bfn this morning, proper paperwhite loveliness so maybe just maybe I can start getting back to normal. Fingers crossed I get a scan today then I can put this behind me.

In other news my garden is coming on a treat, my oh has been working so hard at it with my expert direction lol.

DancingUnicorn · 18/04/2017 22:47

Honestly, I'm not sure if I'd feel reassured with anything earlier than when I lost this one, if that makes sense. :s Im thinking of trying to get some counselling before/during the early days. I know there's nothing that I could have done to change it... my oh is super chill, so he'll calm me down or I'll kill him for trying...

HbH · 18/04/2017 22:42

Ah thanks dancing

Do you know if you'll get any additional looking after next time? Early scans etc. Would be nice to have extra reassurance x

HbH · 18/04/2017 22:41

Oh jupiter my sis was saying the other day that the second trimester is the best! She was running miles, went on a tour all round france, not napping in every spare moment... clearly that is when you glow!

Also, that emoji was a policewoman, it seems to have come out as a policeman & a female symbol... too advanced for MN!

DancingUnicorn · 18/04/2017 22:38

Oo, good luck tomorrow hb! :)

DancingUnicorn · 18/04/2017 22:37

Yeah Jupiter! Feeling loads better today... really keen to start again. But stupidly told my oh I really want to wait till after af. And now there's no wiggle room on that!! :s (which is probably fair, as main reason is I'd be extra anxious about dates if it happened straight away, when I'll be anxious enough anyway)

You're right though, it's so odd how different treatment is, even within London! My scan date was independently sent from the scanning centre... seriously it's the most high tech place I've ever been. Completely incredible! I'd look forward to going back if the circumstances were different.

HbH · 18/04/2017 22:36

Evening girls!

So sorry to hear you've had to go to hospital again tigger , hope the antiBs kick in quick & they can get you scanned asap. You've been so strong at the worst time, you deserve a fresh start very soon (& dancing + para too of course) Flowers

jupiter hope you enjoyed your chips by the sea yesterday (nothing better than chips by the sea!) sorry to hear about the dizziness, sounds like it's connected to the low blood pressure, will be so good to finally see the midwife and ask lots of questions (mine are getting added to a phone note when i think of them)

wiggley LOVE hearing about your wedding prep! Hope its all going to plan, glad you felt happy in your dress!

confused It's so nice that the bubble is bring you and your parents closer, such a lovely time!

FX to those humping at the mo or about to!

SEVEN hope you're EODing it 👮🏻‍♀️

Got my booking in appt tomorrow at 1pm, will be glad to get in the system! Hope my M/W has a fun Hollywood name too!

HeyJupiter · 18/04/2017 20:15

Tigger how difficult.. I really hope you start to feel better soon and the antibiotics kick in Flowers

Wow your NHS trust is so efficient grumpy, with your booking appt and scan/blood test already arranged. Don’t want to keep complaining about mine but it does highlight the differences across the country doesn’t it. Really pleased for you though and at least it feels like things are organised. Oh and fingers crossed the nausea stays away!

Wiggley bet you look gorgeous in your dress.. must be so tempting to consider TTC before the wedding. If you aren’t pregnant though on the day at least you can enjoy a lovely drink and then go mad on honeymoon. Three months will fly by I’m sure :) So excited for you.

Dancing am so glad the bleeding has stopped. Surely it won’t be too much longer to wait lovely, hang on in there.

Thanks for the nice words about the dizziness… I’m definitely eating and drinking enough buzz :) I’ll be fine, just need to ride it out for a bit longer. Was so nice chatting openly about it all with my mum today. She told me that from 14-32 weeks she felt absolutely amazing and this first bit (and the last few weeks of course) are the worst. Really reassuring.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 18/04/2017 20:03

Ahh wiggley that's so exciting! Don't worry the 3 months will fly by! Trust me you will enjoy a drink on your wedding day then you can have honeymoon TTC sex with wild abandon Grin

Well I came home to a letter booking my NHS combined tests for chromosomal abnormalities - blood test is 19 May and NT/dating scan is on 26 May (at 11+5). Given I'm having harmony privately and I'll have to find an excuse to work from home both those Fridays I might skip the blood test and just go for the dating scan.. not sure if that's allowed / advisable but will ask the midwife this Saturday at my home visit appointment.

buzzmoon · 18/04/2017 19:45

Yay wiggly that's so exciting!! What's the actual date of the wedding?

JB1983 · 18/04/2017 19:34

Got my fx for you grumpy that the morning sickness stays away. Glad you are feeling less anxious.

How exciting having your wedding dress fitting wiggley. Waiting is torture, we had a 6 month break and it felt like eternity. Hopefully wedding preparation will fill up your time in the next three months.

para if you and DH feel ready to try again and the OPKs are looking promising then just go for it. You, me and otters can hand hold for poas in a couple of weeks!
