We are a bunch of ladies who are either

  • humping (TTC)
  • by humping yet (waiting to TTC)
  • humped (BFP)

And everything in between!

We've had 8 BFPs since January (and counting!) and we love a bit of lucky lube and a squinter on 9DPO - come and join the madness!

Hey guys, I've had a full on day at work, now done loads of housework and having a quiet eve with DD, DH is out with some mates. I changed the bed linen - clean sheets are such a nice feeling!

My symptoms (sore boobs and tiredness) have basically disappeared over the last 2 days Hmm I'm trying not to worry given I had no symptoms at all in my last pregnancy and just be grateful that I'm feeling good at the moment. As I had to cancel my 8wk reassurance scan due to being in America from next Tuesday, so I won't know if all is ok until my 12wk scan at the end of May! Seems an age to wait. Argh. I'm 6+3 today.

Confused good luck for the scan tomorrow that's so exciting Grin

Otters did you get a positive OPK / static smiley recently? Sorry if I missed that! My memory is so terrible these days. Baby brain is real!

Hb congrats on getting booked in and being low risk! I would also not want a home birth for my first baby as it's such an unknown unknown. I'm going for one this time though as I think/hope my body will remember what to do! I'm thinking a pool as it's less messy?? Lol!

Tigger glad you are feeling like a fresh start. Big hugs!

Laura good luck in the final countdown! It will all be worth it on the day! I was so stressed before my wedding I lost half a stone which was great but the day itself was the best day of my life!

otters2017 · 19/04/2017 20:08

buzz and mummy thanks. Sometimes I feel like I'm going crazy with the whole TTC. Trying hard not to worry but it's almost impossible as it's always at the back of my mind.

Mummyme87 · 19/04/2017 20:03

otters your luteal phase should always be the same length (unless you're taking medication to change it) so if you ovulated late then your body should adjust

buzzmoon · 19/04/2017 19:52

otters I think I ovulated on CD17, didn't get a bfp till 9 days after af was due!

otters2017 · 19/04/2017 19:39

wiggley the blanket is super cute.

hb am with you on the wouldn't have a baby shower team. Not that I have anything against it, just not for me. I did have to play the guess the chocolate in the nappy and it was a bit gross especially when some started to taste them!
Glad you're all booked in with a lovely midwife

mummy enjoy New York. One of my fav places to visit. Fx for this cycle!

confused good luck for your scan tomorrow and you too tigger

Quick question for humped ladies - did anyone ovulate late (after CD17) and got their BFP? I'm a little worried about late ovulation as if it's a short luteal phase then the pregnancy won't stick. I don't know if the body will sort itself out if you ovulate late and the egg gets fertilized. Hope it makes sense!

HbH · 19/04/2017 19:34

I don't think it will feel real til the scan jupiter !! The positives were she said i was very low risk (even tho i have asthma which i had heard could make you higher risk) They were both pushing a home birth, i said I'd consider it but i really don't fancy it!! I want to be where the drugs and surgeons are if need be!

HeyJupiter · 19/04/2017 19:10

So glad it went well Hb, does it all feel more real? I've found some info on my midwife and she has been described as a "ball-breaker" but very experienced and knowledgeable. I quite like soft and fluffy but I'll forgo it for someone who is efficient and knows what she's doing. We shall see.

confused good luck for tomorrow original-cycle-buddy. Can't wait to hear all about it x

HbH · 19/04/2017 18:55

Oooooh it's your scan tomo confused, hope all goes well hun Smile

Wiggleyfingers · 19/04/2017 18:54

Confused I'm sure it's normal to be slightly nervous! Is your DP going with you? What time will you be there? I will be watching and waiting eagerly for the scan pic and update 😊

HbH · 19/04/2017 18:54

Ah enjoy New York mummy, pleased to hear you're over AB and ready to take on this cycle (the last one FX!)

The baby shower plans sound fun.... I'm on the 'I wouldn't have a babyshower' team tho! I think all my girls know this hopefully
Glad you got your BFN tigger & you're feeling a bit more yourself!

penguin I'm totally a nosy cow too! One of the main perks of my job is I'm basically a professional nosy cow😂

So I'm all booked in now! The midwife is lovely & had an equally lovely student with her (who luckily wasn't far off qualifying so her blood taking was painless!) DH was excited but I found it quite procedural and thought they didn't really ask how i was doing/feeling! I suppose there's time for that down the line! Looking forward to getting a scan date tho, it won't feel like it's all in my head then!!

confusedat23 · 19/04/2017 18:48

So glad you got your BFN Tigger sorry about the scan though!

Dancing thats so funny! I did that a few times whilst OPKing and got so annoyed with myself lol

Contraversially i can't wait to have a baby shower... i just want to play all the fun games and get everyone really excited for the baby.. i didn't have a massive hen do and i don't like being centre of attention but i see the baby shower as more being about the baby..

I hope you have a lovely trip to New York Mummy!

Wiggley that blanket is so so cute!

So i'm getting a little nervous about the scan tomorrow now =/

Mummyme87 · 19/04/2017 18:26

grumpy yes dual hormone CB OPK, I've used them since cycle 2 and quite like them. I use them alongside IC OPK.

I'm in NY until Monday evening when we fly back to london. I've been three times before but not been for about 9yrs. OH has never been before

Penguin27 · 19/04/2017 18:25

I'm this thread always makes me smile, I love hearing (reading?) about everyone's lives! Nosy cow!

Enjoy New York mummy, sounds amazing!

Loving the blanket wiggley. My DH won't even let me browse baby shops or even the baby clothes sections of shops, he says it will "ruin the fun" for when we have to do it for real!

Glad you're feeling a little better today tigger, hope you enjoyed your walk.

HeyJupiter · 19/04/2017 18:14

Ahhh just wrote a really long post and lost it - silly internet.

Anyway have loved reading all the updates, wiggley the blanket is gorgeous, tigger so pleased that you got your BFN and are feeling more positive! Roll on tomorrow and getting the scan all done. mummy will have everything crossed for you this month, enjoy new york!

:)

Wiggleyfingers · 19/04/2017 18:07

Wow Mummy enjoy NYC! I went a few years ago and loved it. How long are you away for?

TheGrumpySquirrel · 19/04/2017 18:03

Mummy have an amazing time in New York! How long are you away for? Good luck with the CB OPKs are they the dual hormone ones? Fx for you this month!

Mummyme87 · 19/04/2017 17:56

Oh and on the baby shower front, I had two 😐 One with work girls as they insisted, 2nd was a joint one with one of my BFFs. I did get lots of presents which I didn't need or ask for, I did enjoy the games and food

Mummyme87 · 19/04/2017 17:53

I'll have a look back at posts later on this eve. Hope everyone is well and taking care of themselves.

I'm CD6, AF over and done with.. hopefully for the next 10months 🤞🏻 I've started weeing on CB OPK sticks today. I've also added selenium in to my daily drugs as I read they are an anti oxidant and can help protect the egg, also helps make sperm faster and stronger swimmers.

Off to New York tomorrow morning, uber excited 😊

buzzmoon · 19/04/2017 17:40

Oooh yes seven spa sounds lush! Think me and DP are going to do a mini moon in England at a spa as I'm not sure if I'll want to travel. Well I think I'd love to have a bump and be on a beach somewhere drinking mocktails, but my FIL said something when we told him this weekend about flying and now I'm like HmmI know it's fine! And I double checked nhs website and it said it was fine but I'm really worried, 1 if anything happened and 2 cause he'd be all judgey about us going.

Love the blanket wiggly

Seven0fNine · 19/04/2017 17:11

Haha wiggley my cat would wrap herself up in that blanket so cute!
I'd hate one myself. Give me a spa day any day but it was perfect for my sis because she has lots of friends and loves to be centre of attention 🙄 Hehe xx

Wiggleyfingers · 19/04/2017 17:08

(I wouldn't actually wrap my cats in a blanket - I was joking! Not sure if that was clear Grin)

Wiggleyfingers · 19/04/2017 17:07

Buzz it is definitely an American thing and I'm not a huge fan to be fair, it seems like another excuse to get lots of presents! But they can be lovely too.
Seven love the baby photo idea! Will definitely be stealing that.

So less than 24 hours and I've already failed, quick trip to primark earlier and found this super cute Bambi blanket! I couldn't resist (£6!) and so soft and snuggly! DP was a bit Hmm when I told him I was going to wrap our cats in it as I'm still with an empty womb! Bless him putting up with my crazy, broody ways!

Loving the baby shower ideas guys sound amazing.

Feeling so much more myself today. Bfn has really helped. Negative opk do feel like a fresh start today. Oh and I are going out for a long walk to celebrate. Still got some pains but think the drugs are helping.

Laura the plans are all sounding exciting for the wedding!!

buzzmoon · 19/04/2017 16:43

seven that sounds so fun! I don't know if I'll have one really- never really thought. Do you all think you'll have a shower? It's more an American thing isn't it? Sounds like fun though!

Seven0fNine · 19/04/2017 16:24

Wiggley I organised my sister a surprise baby shower which probably wasn't the best idea as I nearly put her in early labour we kept the surprise so well. It took her 10 mins of crying before she could even cone in the room as some friends has flown in especially. I did afternoon tea too with games. Mr and Mrs style "what would your DP do if he went to the shop and your baby did a massive poo and he forgot the nappy bag" sort if thing which her DP helped with. I got her this www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00S50LUTC/ref=mp_s_a_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1492614961&sr=8-11&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=baby+shower+sash&tag=mumsnetforum-21
And I got everyone to bring a baby photo and she had to guess who was who. I played video messages of love from her friends who couldn't come. My SIL melted chocolate in nappies and she had to guess the type of chocolate but I wouldn't recommend that...it was a bit gross!

There's lots of ideas on pinterest! That's where I got most of mine from!
