We are a bunch of ladies who are either

  • humping (TTC)
  • by humping yet (waiting to TTC)
  • humped (BFP)

And everything in between!

We've had 8 BFPs since January (and counting!) and we love a bit of lucky lube and a squinter on 9DPO - come and join the madness!

Yeah I've heard of PICA, few children in my class have it, they're all autistic, work in a special needs school.

Hopefully the iron tabs will kick in soon so you feel like you have more energy! I've heard that low iron can be quite common in beginning of pregnancy!

What areas is everyone from?

MrsC2017 · 20/04/2017 21:19

hb yes it's called PICA, the desire to eat non food items, i watched a documentary on it in college, all people can get it not just pregnant people although pregnancy can cause it, there was a kid on the documentary that ate wood and he had chewed all the window sills in his house!

MrsC2017 · 20/04/2017 21:17

grumpy how nice of your DH! He's a keeper for sure!!

HbH · 20/04/2017 21:16

Welcome Charl sorry about your MC Flowers Hope you can join your SIL in the humped club soonSmile

grumpy in 8 weeks tomo, which is cool, i feel that's slightly "less early" IFSWIM

The docs called earlier to say results were back from my bloods (only from yesterday, impressed with the speed) and I've got low iron so have to pick up a prescription for iron tabs. Hopefully this will explain some of the tiredness & being so so cold! I did google it to find out any other symptoms and a rare one is

a desire to eat non-food items, such as ice, paper or clay

I'm like Hmm

MrsC2017 · 20/04/2017 21:16

Evening all, just logging on while starting on a box of Ferrero Rocher!! I'm a pig!
Hi Charl welcome!! Sorry to hear your journey hasn't been straightforward, hopefully all will be a clear path to baby from hear on in!
grumpy happy happy birthday my love, enjoy the celebrations!
tigger I'm so glad that the scan showed everything as it should be and from that regard there is nothing to worry about. The follicle sounds very promising and like the girls have said the only right time is the right time for you xx
orange so lovely to open up with friends, I have told a few unbeknownst to OH and it's great to share and have other peoples stories and perspectives!
jb I hope you bounced that egg out real good!!
buzz snap on lack of dtd since, I just can't be bothered, too tired and cranky 😂 😂
As for baby showers, I like the idea of the gathering of friends and the baked goods and games but no to the presents, I couldn't ever put that expense on my friends, so if I did one it would be a strictly no presents or else like I think seven said I went to one where we all brought a book which is a lovely idea and not expensive! But as an excuse to eat cakes then I'm all in!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 20/04/2017 21:05

Thanks all and welcome charl! Hope you get your BFP soon!

Hb buzz and Jupiter remind me how many weeks you all are now? From memory Hb is about a week ahead of me and buzz and Jupiter about 2wks ahead?

Had a lovely dinner out with DH and DD even though she was moody before we went out! The struggle to get a 12yr old to wash omg 😲
I felt a bit queasy before eating but fine once I got some food in me! Beautiful Japanese food with jasmine tea ☕️

DH got me skincare goodies from Aesop which I love and - get this - two beautiful babygros from Petit Bateau! Totally unexpected and made me well up!

Enjoy New York mummy - only a few days till I'm in sunny California I literally cannot wait to get out of freezing London!!

charl19 · 20/04/2017 20:30

Oh and to add to my frustrations my DH sister has just told us she is 5 weeks pregnant! Trying to be so happy for her but there is still that twinge of jealously and frustration going on! Ttc is so hard on your feelings- who knew!!

charl19 · 20/04/2017 20:21

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind if I join in? Been watching since the last thread but after seeing your scan picture confused I thought it would be a good time to introduce myself and say a huge congrats to you- great picture quality!! So cute!

Happy birthday grumpy🎉 hope you enjoy celebrating!

So anyway, hi! I'm 25, ttc #1.. long story short, came off pill end of January, caught straight away (massive shock as heard that it could take a while).. unfortunately miscarried between 5-6 weeks (couldn't work out the exact date).. and since then we are kind of trying but not actively.. more of a see what happens kind of thing, not preventing anything but my brain is getting ahead of me and I can't help getting excited reading everyone's stories!! So just finished my first AF since MC, think I am approaching my FW.. see what happens I suppose but I'm sure DH won't be too sad if I suddenly become even more interested in dtd😂

Hope you don't mind me butting in, you all seem so lovely and friendly!

HbH · 20/04/2017 20:08

Happy Birthday Grumpy Cake

My early symptoms toned down at 6 weeks (apart from boobs!) Have been a bit queasy this week tho, I think the placenta is doing more so the hormones are toning down so shouldn't be worrying x

HeyJupiter · 20/04/2017 19:32

Just having a proper catch up of the thread :)

Huge congrats again confused, what an overwhelming and moving experience. I’m so happy that little one is healthy and active in there.

So interesting to read about the home birth plans/not plans. Its not something I would consider for our first - like Hb I want to be near the doctors and drugs [grins]

grumpy don’t worry about the lack of symptoms. Mine came and went in the first few weeks (although my boobs have been constantly sore) It’s strange how variable it can be - I’ve been so nauseous for the last 5 days and today it’s just randomly been much better. Still exhausted though. I imagine yours will come back in the next few day!

mummy glad you’ve safely arrived, have a magical time.

Yay JB looks like ovulation is around the corner. Your comment about bouncing out the egg made me laugh our loud. Hope you had fun trampolining.

orange so lovely that you could open up to your friends and hear first hand how varied TTC stories can be. I know people that have tried for one month and others who have tried for 36 months and got there eventually. Next cycle will be yours though! :)

Penguin hope you have a nice sleep tonight, how frustrating!

laura sorry there are so many anxieties about the wedding. I hope the situation with your brother is okay and if he does come he’s having a stable day in regards to his moods. It’s your day and I hope it’s perfect.

Excellent news Tigger, and I totally understand your need to just keep going and keep trying. I can’t possibly say how I would feel in your situation but everyone is going to be different and no decision is right or wrong. Sending you loads of love and positivity for this cycle whatever may happen. How wonderful that you’re body has recovered and is ready to try again.

Dancing how are you today lovely?

buzz how are you baby-cycle-buddy? Symptom wise how are you feeling?

Mummyme87 · 20/04/2017 19:17

Checking in from the big apple ✈️🗽🏙

Lovely scan confused glad all was well.
tigger I'm glad your scan went well also, and sounds promising.

buzzmoon · 20/04/2017 18:26

Happy Birthday grumpy!! 🎉

TheGrumpySquirrel · 20/04/2017 18:05

Also my symptoms have basically gone.. really trying not to worry. I feel good! It's actually my birthday today outs self. So am going out for dinner with DH and DD. I text my bro and sis and my dad today and told them the news - sworn to secrecy etc etc. They are really excited. Hope it works out, I am not having another scan till 11+5. 6+4 today!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 20/04/2017 18:02

Tigger so glad the scan showed all is clear and that's very encouraging about the follicle! Xx

Confused massive congrats what a great feeling it must be to see baby!

I'm another who cringes at the idea of a baby shower! My BFF suggested it ("Claridges!" she exclaimed) when I told her my harmony test date... I want to choose baby stuff myself and I hate a big fuss over pregnancy, all the insta bumps seem a bit commodifying somehow..

I'm also dreading work knowing and pretending to congratulate me while judging me harshly behind my back. Although that's hopefully a few months off! My DH asked me last night if he can quit his job, he hates it so much. I'm hoping he can hang on long enough to take advantage of the SPL policy! Then I'm totally backing him being a SAHD. It's ironic that my work are the ones that are paranoid about us having kids Hmm

buzzmoon · 20/04/2017 17:32

tigger I think I'd want to do exactly the same! Especially after hearing that you had a very promising follicule. Our bodies are amazing things really! And dtd is not exactly the most taxing thing to do, although saying that, me a DP have hardly done it since 🤔 I feel bad for him but I'm so tired!

Tigger83 · 20/04/2017 17:19

Buzz yup I am, don't get me wrong I'm still really sad about loosing my little pumpkin.

Emotionally I have dealt with loosing my baby as best I can do and the thing that scares me most is what happens if it happens again.

My oh and I talked and neither of us would want to actively prevent getting pregnant and so I guess my view is it'd stress me out more not getting back on track understanding my cycles etc than just waiting to see what happened if that makes sense.

I guess it comes down to the fact that I still really want a baby and all of the hardships that go alongside that are just part of the path I have to tread.

I know that for some it would be too soon and I completely respect that everyone's road is different. Ttc is so all consuming that even if I wanted to take a break I don't think I could as it is always on my mind.

buzzmoon · 20/04/2017 16:48

tigger pleased all is well! Do you feel better today? Due you feel ready to try so soon? :) x

Seven0fNine · 20/04/2017 16:19

Yay confused!!! So pleased it all went well xx

HbH · 20/04/2017 16:11

Great news tigger

That certainly sounds like one ready to go! That could also be useful to know for dating if it comes to that! FX Star

Tigger83 · 20/04/2017 16:05

So had my scan today.... all good nothing that shouldn't be there.

However there was a follicle measuring 21mm by my calculations I reckon in a normal cycle I'd ovulate on Saturday so do we think this is a little egg ready to come out?!

HbH · 20/04/2017 14:18

Ah hey parsnips was just thinking of you earlier cos my bestie has jetted off to Dubai on a hen do!!

Hope you enjoyed the beach at the weekend! So jel of permanent sun... our mini summer has long gone now!

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 20/04/2017 14:13

Aww congratulations confused! What a gorgeous little scan photo! Glad to hear everything went well! You must be chuffed 😃

HbH · 20/04/2017 14:11

Aw congrats confused! So pleased it all went well!

Crazy fire alarm shenanigans penguin I second that you should get a complimentary brekkie/late check out for the annoyingness! When i was at uni the fire alarms used to get set off in my halls at least three times a week, usually in the middle of the night... i used to have a special fire alarm coat duvet to put on over my PJs!

otters2017 · 20/04/2017 13:26

confused congrats!! You and oh must be over the moon.

DancingUnicorn · 20/04/2017 13:08
