I have been doing some calcs, if i have another cycle length the same as last month (32 days) then i am due ovulation around 26th March then AF around 14th April. Not OPKing this cycle, but just wanted to get my head around how it might work out Smile

MrsC2017 · 20/03/2017 12:22

Crap parsnips I hate when that happens, control underwear and a few days of a crash diet? Otherwise just wear it, after a few drinks it won't matter!
red so glad to hear you are feeling better!
penguin so bloody annoying when GPs do that!
grumpy I guess I would go with yesterday too judging from what you said! I think at big events like weddings you can get away with saying yes to alcohol, and then just casually leaving it down and not drinking but smaller events are the killer!
buzz it's very confusing, so first day of your last AF up until you ov count as two weeks even though you aren't technically pregnant! I saw a cute one where my friend put a bun in her mum's oven and said she had baked her a surprise, I love a bun in the oven pun!
hb I didn't have nausea at 7dpo but I did get a touch about 12/13dpo. Hope u feel better soon!
tigger ahhh 8 weeks super exciting!
I'm currently on my break trying not to throw up, managed to nibble at a bit of lunch so as not to arouse suspicion in front of other staff members I'm on lunch with!

Penguin27 · 20/03/2017 12:03

Oh no Parsnips, I'm sure you won't look like a dogs dinner! If you're super-strict this week, avoid sugar and wear control underwear, I'm sure the dress will look lovely on Saturday!!

I didn't really get to the bottom of the issue with my GP but he has suggested a blood test ... which if nothing else will reassure me that I'm getting all the right vitamins and everything to support a pregnancy! A bit irrelevant to what I was asking him, but never mind!!

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 20/03/2017 12:00

Maybe absence of full length mirror is why I am blissfully unaware of true fatness!

OP posts:
HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 20/03/2017 11:59

I'll try it on later with the fat pants on and see what it's like. I thought it wasn't that bad - a bit neat yes but not horrendous.

I'll try and take a pic later - I don't have a full length mirror so might take some manoeuvrering!

Spooky- I was literally just wondering about you red! Thank you. :) glad you're feeling better

Redpony1 · 20/03/2017 11:48

You could lose a few pounds this week Parsnips if you can try and be very very strict! not necessarily sustainable loss but enough to loosen the dress a little, make sure you stay hydrated though.

Just catching up....

Congrats on DH's new job Seven!

I'm going to miss Mummy being here Sad

I've made it my mission to not become obsessed even though i really want it. My SIL had unexplained fertility, was desperate for a baby and got accepted to have IVF on the NHS. Once she got accepted her TTC stress levels completely dropped and she actually conceived naturally - twice! I think stress plays such a massive part in failing to TTC Sad

& Oh my!! Congratulations Buzz!! Amazing news and such strong BFP's! You can continue on SW when pregnant, i had a few people still losing weight in my last group. & changing the dress to lace up sounds a fantastic idea too

I am now feeling human, couple more days of anti-b's but did manage to get out and run yesterday for 5 miles after a week off.
I am now CD8... (jeeez that has flown?!)

buzzmoon · 20/03/2017 11:44

Also, have you got any control underwear? I love mine and feels like I lose about half a stone when I put it on! 😂

buzzmoon · 20/03/2017 11:43

Oh no parsnips! I'm sure it looks lovely! But you don't want to be uncomfortable! Will you be standing most of the day? You could probably get away with it, but if you're sitting, might be uncomfortable. You wanna post a pic on here for opinions? We'll be kind!! :)

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 20/03/2017 11:28

So I tried my dress on for the races this Saturday and it does fit/ zip up etc but it is tight - not sure what to do now! My friend said it's too small and "she's seen me in nicer clothes" (she's very blunt!).

Bit frustrating as it cost 225quid from coast and now I feel like I'll look a dogs dinner!

It is very neat on the waist but not sure whether to just wear it anyway? My mums coming over on Friday so she will tell me in no uncertain terms if I look a sight!

Trust me to fuck up my diet!!!

grumpy I have a good feeling about you this month 🤞🏽

buzzmoon · 20/03/2017 11:03

penguin that's so frustrating about your GP! He sounds rubbish! Hope you got the other thing sorted and are not worried about what they've said about TTC!

jupiter that's so exciting you have a date! I feel a bit strange not being given anything, not a time frame or date! I like to plan and have a date in the diary so I know something is happening!

HeyJupiter · 20/03/2017 10:58

Penguin you're right, they do know what they're doing. How frustrating about your GP though - did that mean you didn't get any reassurance about the other issue? Or was he trying the link the two issues? Maybe call back if you can.

grumpy might be the perfect time to tell them if you are pregnant! How many weeks would you be then if this month works? The lack of drinking thing is always a giveaway although most of my friends/family know we're TTC so accept that I haven't been drinking much for that reason.

Penguin27 · 20/03/2017 10:42

Must be so exciting waiting to meet the midwife! I'm sure it's not a problem Jupiter, they know what they're doing!

I've also spoken to my GP this morning for a non-TTC issue... however I mentioned that I'm TTC in case it was relevant and he just focused on that - like took the whole conversation to mean that I was worried about my fertility etc on cycle 2?! Feel like he totally ignored the other issue so now I just feel a bit confused and frustrated.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 20/03/2017 10:22

Jupiter we have a family thing at Easter as well - with DH French family over there so will be super obvious if I'm not drinking! But will cross that bridge when I come to it...

HeyJupiter · 20/03/2017 10:10

Just spoke to GP receptionist! She was so lovely.. has just booked me straight into see the midwife on April 24th. Because of the bank holiday (and because midwife only comes in alternate mondays) I'll be just over 9 weeks by then. That's okay right? My 12 week scan won't be delayed because of that I hope.

HeyJupiter · 20/03/2017 09:53

buzz it is confusing.. GP will go from date of your last period though so does that make you 5 weeks? I think dates are adjusted when you have your 12 week scan and they look at growth. Health professionals must go mad with us lot and our technology as we all know exactly when we ovulated etc.

penguin sounds like plan Grin can't concentrate after events of last week.

About to call GP and find out what happens next with midwifes etc!

buzzmoon · 20/03/2017 09:48

Haha yes I'm up for that 😂 just called docs, the midwife team will be in touch... feels a bit weird. The waiting game starts again!

My dream said it would be a girl 6lbs 10oz and called Natalie. Bizarre! :)

Penguin27 · 20/03/2017 09:34

Oh Jupiter sorry that you're not looks no forward to your working day ... maybe you, me and buzz can just sit on MN all day haha

buzzmoon · 20/03/2017 09:06

Has anyone got any ideas for pregnancy announcements?

buzzmoon · 20/03/2017 09:06

penguin sorry you're grumpy! Just 5 more days till the weekend? 😏 it'll fly by!

Hope everyone has a good Monday, even though they do suck! I have ZERO motivation! Just going to google baby stuff I think!

buzzmoon · 20/03/2017 09:04

CB digital says 2-3 weeks from conception, so doc will say 4-5 weeks for weeks preggers. I really don't understand that though? Will the doctors adjust it when the do the scan? Or I'll always start at 5 weeks? Sorry if that's really stupid 🙈 my mums on holiday so think I will tell her on Mother's Day. And going to wait till 12 weeks for MIL because she's such a gossip, the whole world and his dog will know!

Workwise, I'm supposed to be getting a promotion in April. Well my boss has to advertise my job at a higher grade, so I have to apply for my own job and interview etc. I'm so worried that I won't get it now! But DP said that if I don't get it then I have perfect grounds to complain because I've been told that I'll get it!

HeyJupiter · 20/03/2017 09:01

That sounds sensible grumpy, I'm really excited for you.

Also Hb I've got a good feeling for you too :) Are you and grumpy our next testers? Roll on next week.

God I'm not sure about pregnancy announcements Hb, will definitely do it as part of a family gathering though. We should all be meeting Easter weekend but might have said something by then already. Would like to make occasion of it, bring some cakes etc and announce it properly.

Not feeling the work vibe today. Spend Mondays in a clinic room - on my own in between patients and not feeling very motivated. Have massively cut down caffeine which isn't helping!

buzzmoon · 20/03/2017 08:58

grumpy I'm keeping everything crossed for you this month 🤞🏽 those due dates are so exciting!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 20/03/2017 08:23

Well CM is still quite EW but cervix has moved higher. Gonna go with yesterday as ov day. DH is excited about potentially having a snuggly baby in time for Xmas! Good job I've got plenty to distract me this TWW - very busy at work. 11 days till I can test!
