Yes I'm Irish 🍀 (Belfast born) but I did live in Manchester for eight years before moving to Dubai and my husband is a scouser so I'm an honorary North Wester too!

I love the hen reveal idea buzz - get over to Etsy as I'm sure they'll have some great ones there.

Just at the garage & they're talking me into upgrading my car while im waiting! I'm such a push over!

HbH04 · 22/03/2017 11:28

It's soooo funny... I hadn't seen it before so got to binge watch 2 and a half seasons, all caught up now and have to wait like everyone else!

Love the hen do reveal buzz Your friends will GO NUTS!!!! (In a good way! 👯)

I thought snips was Irish & her other half was Manc!! Happy to be corrected!

MrsC2017 · 22/03/2017 11:23

Haha hb I love catastrophe!! Although I don't really have the same accent as her, it's more neutral I think but still an Irish accent I guess! DH has a very strong accent though!
buzz that's a fab idea!!! So fun!

buzzmoon · 22/03/2017 11:12

red go for it! You've got nothing to lose! Would anything stop you from taking it if you got offered the job?

I've thought of a great idea for an announcement! So my hen do is when I'll be like 14 weeks. My friends have got cheesey 'team bride' tops, I can make a 'team bride' baby grow!!!!

I love catastrophe! It's so funny! And yes I always read mrs in an Irish accent 😂 I thought snips was from Manchester? She has a northern voice in my head :)

HbH04 · 22/03/2017 10:11

You might as well red nothing to lose! You'd get a better idea about the company if you interview & closer to home is always good!

MrsC glad you're giving positivity a try! I've got into the TV show Catastrophe recently & the main lady is Irish... i now read all your (& parsnip's) posts with her voice in my head!!! (You're Irish too Parsnips*?? Hoping i haven't made that up!!)

I've got the day off today cos my car is in for a safety recall (nothing major) and can't work without it!! Good excuse to slack off! Going holiday shopping with my sis later... probably a good distraction!

MrsC2017 · 22/03/2017 09:54

Morning girls!! Yay it's nearly POAS time in this group again!! Best of luck hb!!! Mother's day is very fitting!! Also we have nearly filled another thread! Three cheers for the baby challengers!!
red you have nothing to lose doing the interview, you can always turn it down, I feel it's always better to have option than not even if you don't need options!
buzz I vote for parsnips way of telling, and the girls are right, if you are happy and positive about it, she will be too, even if she'll a little shocked initially!
wiggly I second the hot cotton wool suggestion, it might get whatever is in there to rise to the surface, witch hazel is quite soothing too!
grumpy enjoy your night tonight instead of another dinner!
I'm trying to be more positive today, laughter is the best medicine and all that! Let's see how long I last 🙈

Redpony1 · 22/03/2017 09:23

Oh Wiggley I have had one of them too, soooo painful!! I did go to Dr put cant remember what they gave me, but it worked quickly.

Congrats on your bonus Laura!!

I got called about a job yesterday, I'm not looking obviously but it's a step up, £2k increase and closer to home. I feel torn whether i should got for the interview or not!! Sad

HbH04 · 22/03/2017 09:14

AB due Sat/Sun so I'm going to test Sun if she hasn't made an unwelcome appearance before then! Having 12 people over for Mother's Day lunch on Sunday so i should know either way by then!!

(I got engaged on mother's day weekend last year so would be pretty cool to get a BFP this year!)

HeyJupiter · 22/03/2017 09:04

Hb I am so excited for you!! I had far less symptoms this month than any before so maybe take it as a good sign :) In fact sleeping badly might be a symptom itself!

penguin hope the rest of the 2ww flies by, will have everything crossed for you and grumpy. I think holding out until 12dpo was the best thing I did this month as find the whole squinter thing really stressful.

buzzmoon · 22/03/2017 08:43

Thanks for the lovely replies everyone, you're all so great ❤️ and great ideas too!

I second putting something hot on it wiggly I was told to boil water and soak cotton pads, and press them on when they've cooled slightly so it's bearable.

Sooooo excited about the testers! hb when are you due?

HbH04 · 22/03/2017 08:30

Morning Gals!

Parsnips That's a SUPER cute way for Buzz to tell her mum! I vote for that 🙋🏻

Ahhhhhh I'm so nervous about testing... slept so badly last night! I'm really not feeling it, i have next to no symptoms this week (after a complete overload last week)

Penguin27 · 22/03/2017 08:07

It looks like grumpy and I will be testing on Friday next week if I can hold out that long Grin

HeyJupiter · 22/03/2017 08:01

How's the lump this morning Wiggley, maybe press something warm on it as I think that helps fluid be reabsorbed..I'm thinking a hot flannel before you ask :)

buzz thanks for the lovely words. I am sure your Mum will be thrilled. If she starts worrying about the wedding just play down any anxieties, mention the dress alterations idea and just appear really relaxed about it. That will soothe her. Ultimately it's going to be fine and she will realise that after the initial surprise.

Have a lovely time with your friends tonight grumpy, I had three glasses of wine when I was 3dpo and felt very guilty but all good so far :) Enjoy!

Love your wine labels parsnips, they were fab!

So what's the schedule with testers.. Hb this weekend, grumpy and penguin next week? Love the POAS mornings..

TheGrumpySquirrel · 22/03/2017 08:00

Penguin I'm CD18 now and my FW also ended on Sunday (when I think I ovulated). But Ovia has me on a 33 day cycle so doesn't expect AF until 7 April Hmm
I'll be testing on 31st march though as that's 12DPO! We can be POAS buddies Grin

Penguin27 · 22/03/2017 07:47

Morning all! I'm liking the autocorrect fails Grin

Sorry your work situation is difficult too Jupiter, hope you have a good day today.

Buzz I'm sure your mum will be delighted to find out that she's going to be a grandma!

Grumpy, it sounds like our cycles are still quite similar ... I'm not sure if or when ov happened for me, but Ovia says I'm on CD21 and my fw ended on Sunday, so I guess that would make me 3dpo? It says AF due 31st. Is that the same as yours?

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 22/03/2017 03:58

Buzz why don't you tell her you've had to add an extra person to the table plan and then tell her it's her grandchild? That will be cute. I bought wine labels to tell our family (they say "guess what" and then have two little baby feet and say "Baby XXX is on the way" and I've got a little baby grow with "hello daddy - I can't wait to meet you" printed on it for DH.

For parents I'm going to give them the wine wrapped in a bag and then asked them to check it's the one they like or whatever so they look at the label.

Don't worry buzz I'm sure she will be grand - might just take a minute to get her head round it but if you present it positively I'm sure she'll be positive too!

Seven0fNine · 21/03/2017 23:18

Hehehehe @ fucidic 😂

TheGrumpySquirrel · 21/03/2017 23:02

Wiggley I have had that too and you just have to wait till it's ready to pop (sorry). I think because I get waxed down there it doesn't help!

Buzz aww I bet your mum will be super excited once you tell her though, don't worry! I'm so excited to tell my MIL and mum when I get my BFP..

Cocktails thanks yes the struggle is real! I know what it's like to doubt yourself at every turn., but I like that advert for This Girl Can - bit of an analogy stretch but you're still lapping everyone on the couch!

Well I just got home from a 4 hour dinner with some industry people.. literally me and 5 guys.. I'm small talked out! Luckily my dinner tomorrow got cancelled and I'm now seeing some old girlfriends instead and will still be home in time to see DD! Yay! Also will definitely be a bit hungover tomorrow. I hope my potential fertilised egg won't hold it against me! 3dpo tomorrow Grin

Wiggleyfingers · 21/03/2017 22:26

Yes that's exactly what is like! Feels hard but also squeezable. Tried some major contortionist moves and can't see a head on it (gross).

Buzz I'm sure it won't be as hard as you think to tell your mum. Will it be her first grandchild?! I know what you mean though, I would be nervous too. Could you break the news in a different kind of way to make it more lighthearted? Perhaps a "only the best mums get promoted to grandma" mug?!

Who was it on here that bought the labels for wine bottles? They were great!

Cocktails my dress fitting is in 5 weeks and I need to get a move on or I'll weep as she's measuring me! We can do this together!

xlaura · 21/03/2017 22:21

Oh and thanks penguin I'm hoping it'll be nice. We're not going in ideal weather (December to March) is there best time but because I didn't want to wait until 6 months after the wedding for our honeymoon because I wanna get straight down to business with TTC we just booked it in June. I've read a lot of forums that said they went in June and it was perfect sunshine everyday all day and I've read some people have been in January and it's chucked it down so just pot luck I spose (autocorrected to pornhub..wtf?! 😂) I'm expecting a little bit of rain just not too much hopefully!

xlaura · 21/03/2017 22:18

Wiggley I know exactly what you mean..I've had with MrsC has had and boy are they painful. I've also had it when I've changed shower gels and maybe used something abit too rich down there..hurts like a mother tho but if you put some sudocrem on it and try not to wear any underwear that's too tight it'll go down within a couple of days. DTD is off bounds for then haha!

buzzmoon · 21/03/2017 22:17

wiggly I get folliculitis all the time! Got this fab cream from the gp called fucidic (omg that just autocorrected to GoDucksGo what the hell!!) acid and it clears up within like a day! Is super painful otherwise :(

buzzmoon · 21/03/2017 22:12

cocktails are you on a particular diet? We can keep you motivated!

buzzmoon · 21/03/2017 22:04

jupiter everything will be absolutely fine, you don't need to worry :) you're nearly there! I'm thinking lace up will be a good plan if it doesn't do up 👍🏽
I'm actually really nervous about telling my mum 😔 I just don't know how to even say it ! I know she'll be disappointed that it's happened now and not after the wedding. I'm just petrified of the whole conversation 😔 also should I wait to tell her too? 12 weeks feels like ages away
