Ttcnovice I get spotting around ovulation too sometimes, freaked me out the first time.

Flatwhite I think you should call your doctor too. Pain shouldn't keep you up at night x

Im on cd 20 today, according to Ovia I missed my period. My CM dried up so I assumed AF was on her way but it came back and is really weird. I still feel nauseous but my boobs are not as tender. I'm constantly tired and my sleep is really crappy. Last night I woke up so many times. Also random but a few times I woke up because of a weird twitch/discomfort...down there Blush

Pibbee · 23/03/2017 08:25

Oh no flatwhite that sounds painful Flowers I think you should call the doc's again.

I think ovulation spotting is a thing ttcnovice so yes it could well be that!

Flatwhite31 · 23/03/2017 08:02

Hi everyone. Thank you @ttcnovice and thank you for asking @JellyBean89. I'm off work today which is unlike me (this is the person who only took 1 day off the day before her wedding!). It could just be dreadful pre-menstrual cramps, but although I don't know when my first real period will be, if it was to be a 28 day cycle, it wouldn't be due for another 11 days or so which seems early for cramps this bad. Google said it could be a side effect of coming off the pill, but they just feel so severe. Have been awake since 2am. May have to ring the doc again!

passmethewine123 · 23/03/2017 07:16

I occasionally get spotting when I ovulate novice so could be that?

ttcnovice · 22/03/2017 14:41

How is everyone getting on? I've just had some spotting randomly - does anyone ever get this around ovulation? I've never had it before at all. I'm on CD15 today but still no peak on the OPKs, so coupled with the spotting I have no idea what's going on with me at the moment.

That sounds awful flat Sad. It's good that the GP has said to ring her back if it gets worse, you should definitely make sure you do! Hope it's lessened off today for you Flowers.

JellyBean89 · 22/03/2017 11:18

Flatwhite that sounds horrible and it's at such an inconvenient time. How are you feeling today?

Flatwhite31 · 21/03/2017 17:50

Hi everyone,
My GP was really lovely. Urine didn't show infection, but it showed ketones which suggests dehydration or fasting, neither of which I was. Being a teacher, I drink plenty of water, and I'm certainly not fasting! Really strange. She thinks the pain is my womb contracting, but said to ring her on Thursday if the pain gets worse. It's so uncomfortable today. DTD should be happening tonight, but I'm not sure if I can Sad

JellyBean89 · 21/03/2017 17:36

Hello everyone!
@juno2002 congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!!!
Welcome @Marie90 @Mamarwady and @ReturnofSaturn and @Schapps00

Tess, im so sorry AF showed up FX for next cycle x

FlatWhite I hope your doctor appointment went well

Update from me: I haven't retested. Had pains around my ovaries today and my back and nipples hurt so I think AF is on her way. Today I have a horrid taste in my mouth, I don't know how to describe it, not exactly metallic. More like what I imagine old rust to taste like. It won't go regardless of how many times I brush my teeth or eat Sad

Pibbee · 21/03/2017 16:58

I think in terms of fertility tests it's meant to be a year but for more general queries I'm sure you could make an appointmentSmile

Schnapps00 · 21/03/2017 16:42

Ah, thanks Pibbee & Twisted :) Interesting about the OPKs, in some places I think I've seen that you should test 24-48hrs, but just googled & it says 12-24, looks like I might be leaving it too long in between..not had any ovulation pain either though which I used to get sometimes (but not always to be fair). Didn't think I'd be eligible to see doc as thought you had to be TTC for a year? Don't like to bother them at the best of times, it would be reassuring though to see if things have restarted again.
Sending fertile thoughts to everyone on the 1st day of Spring!

Twistedsister7 · 21/03/2017 15:45

OPKs are worth doing several times a day as it really change that quick. You should then see changes in the line.

I didn't have pill but I think it's taken 5 months to get back to normal for me despite dr saying it would be instant!!

Pibbee · 21/03/2017 15:32

Hi Schnapps, welcome!! I think it can vary from person to person as to how long it takes for things to return to normal. If it's been a few months and you're concerned why don't you see your GP? They should be able to put your mind at rest, or refer you for tests if they think that's necessary....

I don't have much idea on the OPKs I'm afraid as I've not started using them properly yet....Lots of the girls on here do use them though so hopefully someone with some useful information will be on soon!

Schnapps00 · 21/03/2017 14:13

Hi all, can I join? Lots of us out there! I had a couple of questions, how long has ovulation taken to kick in after coming off (progesterone) pill on average? Just started the OPKs last month with no line seen & about to start cycle 5 - but been having v light almost nonexistent AF compared to younger, pre-pill days - somehow I've racked up 14 years on the pill on & off, eek! Confused Am 34.
Thanks for any insights you can provide..

Flatwhite31 · 20/03/2017 21:26

Haha Pibbee! I'll enjoy being 31 then Grin! Glad your AF has pretty much gone. I'm interested to see what my first proper period will be like!
Weirdly, I was such a grumpy cow last week. It was like 12 years of PMT all at once! I never got it on the pill, and I was surprised such severe PMT (mainly a foul mood) showed up less than 2 weeks after stopping the pill! Thankfully I'm feeling much less moody this week.

Pibbee · 20/03/2017 21:02

Juno I'm still getting used to periods post-pill! Turns out I get more grumpy and stressy in the couple of days before than I used to....oh the joys! Hope you don't have bad pains returning.

Pibbee · 20/03/2017 20:52

Oi Flatwhite, I'm a good 5 years older than you, and I'm not massively concerned about the age thing so you have no reason to! Smile

Hi all the new newbies! Welcome!

I have nothing interesting to report. Gonna start peeing in sticks properly this cycle (rather than my fairly pathetic ONE attempt last time Grin )

AF has pretty much gone now, so just waiting to crack on!

Flatwhite31 · 20/03/2017 20:40

I used to get awful pain too, and very heavy bleeding. I'm hoping it won't be the same this time round! Hope you're enjoying your wedding planning. I kind of miss it, which I never thought I'd say!

Juno2002 · 20/03/2017 18:30

Thank you! Yes we can't wait!
Hope your docs appt is useful, that doesn't sound fun.
I can't even remember what life was like pre-pill. It's always made my brain feel a bit fuzzy if that makes sense so it'll be nice to see things a bit clearer. I used to get horrendous period pain so hopefully that doesn't return Hmm

Flatwhite31 · 20/03/2017 18:09

Congratulations @Juno2002 on your wedding in June! We got married just over six weeks ago, and it really was the best day ever! Loved it so much. I'm 31 and hubby is 36, so due to our ages (!!) we are starting TTC straight away. I only came off the pill 2.5 weeks ago, though, so just seeing how things regulate before taking it really seriously.

Flatwhite31 · 20/03/2017 18:07

Hi all! I am going to the doctor tomorrow, as I keep feeling like I have permanent period pain/aches across my back and my lower abdomen. I'm sure it's something to do with coming off the pill, but I'm uncomfortable a lot of the time and it's getting in the way of DTD as it's making me feel tired! If I was going on a 28 day cycle (don't know yet as I haven't had a period yet), this would be my fertile week, so I want to feel better!

Juno2002 · 20/03/2017 16:31

Hi all! Please could I join? We are technically not trying officially until we get married in June but I am so excited about TTC#1! I seem to spend an awful lot of time lurking on here so I thought I might as well join in! I've only just come off the pill after 10 years on it so I'm fully expecting a wait before everything gets back to normal.

Twistedsister7 · 20/03/2017 12:43

Marie that sounds exactly like my ovulation pain!! My backache is the worst part though cos it lasts about 3-5 days.

I'm in fw & DH & I have today off work to spend some time together (wink wink). So far so good!!

Welcome new posters & fx for you all.

Marie90 · 20/03/2017 12:29

Also...

Does anyone else get ovulation pain? I realised I get it most months about a year ago.. dull pains to one side of my foof (sorry... I can't call it anything else lol), and a bit of lower back ache. It always coincides with ewcm and is mid cycle.

This morning though i was woken up by it at about 4.30am. Really painful on my right side, and lower back ache. It's only just easing now! It's not been that painful before and wondered if perhaps it was something else like a UTI or too much sex! 🙈 (We have been DTD a LOT more than usual lol)!

I'm aware I'm probably being ridiculous but just thought I'd see if anyone else has had it before?

Thoughts?

Marie90 · 20/03/2017 12:15

Mamaready you sound similar to me.. I'm on cycle 2 and in the FW atm. AF due April 3rd but Fx she doesn't arrive this month!! 😶

Mamaready · 20/03/2017 08:36

Thank you! This is only my second month trying & currently mid cycle... so trying this week!
