Congratulation Emma that sounds so lovely!!

@flatwhite I hate to say but the fact that I could no longer cope with the workload and stress in a job I loved lead me to move to the Middle East. I work in a international school here where there is such a focus on work life balance. I rarely take anything home to do and although I start work at 6.30am, I do leave every day by 3.30pm. The main difference is I feel that I am trusted to do a good job without people checking up on me all of the time! If I come back to the UK I will never be a teacher again.

In other news I'm still getting an occasional red spot in my usual discharge (sorry tmi!) 6 days until I can POAS and I have no idea what's going on.

Flatwhite31 · 13/05/2017 09:42

Fingers crossed Misty! Really hope this is your month.
Pre-seed is a sperm friendly lubricant. I've never used lube in my life, but I am rubbish at spotting EWCM, and I honestly don't know what to look for. I'm wondering if I actually even produce much tbh. The texture of preseed is meant to mimic EWCM. Who knows if it'll work, but we will see. I actually enjoyed the fact that it meant we could start DTD faster. I like foreplay (sorry TMI ladies, but we are all friends on here now Grin) but I like DTD more!

Millie1994 · 13/05/2017 09:37

@littleemma1 Ahhhhh that is so exciting 😄😄😄 congratulations 😄😄😄 you have a very thoughtful OH!!

I worked in a school for almost four years in HR and it really opened my eyes to how much work teachers do, definitely not something I could do! Especially with all the changes to marking etc absolutely crazy the amount of work you guys are asked to do!

I'm on CD33 and not yet had AF visit! Keep thinking she is coming but she hasn't appeared yet. Going to give it another week before testing as I'm still not overly sure what my cycle lengths since coming off the implant. Trying not to get excited as it is probably just a late period but there is still that little part of me that is not being rational and is a bit hopeful lol!

@Flatwhite31 fingers crossed for you! What does using pre-seed mean? (Sorry if that is a really dumb question lol)

Pibbee · 13/05/2017 09:36

Congratulations @emma that's amazing news! And how lovely of him to do all that. Being engaged is the nuts. Yeah!

Flatwhite31 · 13/05/2017 08:56

@littlemma1 just read your message! Congratulations! That's so so lovely! Being engaged is wonderful, as is wedding planning! Enjoy every moment Smile. Xx

Flatwhite31 · 13/05/2017 08:55

It's such a hard job Misty! Many people bang on about teachers having an 'easy life' with the (mythical!) 3.15 finish (I wish!) and holidays. If only they knew! Well I'm on CD 11 so approaching FW, and we DTD this morning as I was really in the mood all of a sudden! An early night last night paid off! We are going to in laws tonight for a night, so there's absolutely no way DTD will be happening there lol! We used pre-seed for the first time. I'm glad I read online that a little goes a long way, as that's certainly true! The full amount must be so, erm, messy and slippery! TMI! Have a good weekend ladies!

littleemma1 · 13/05/2017 08:34

Hi all 👋🏻
IM OFFICIALLY ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!

He did it last night. We had been at his Mums for tea and when we got home there were flowers on the dining room table with little LED candles everywhere and a Beaverbrooks bag that said "open me". Once I opened it there was a note to start a treasure hunt around the house for clues that involved funny thing to do with our relationship and things that we'd done together, (one of them involving my favourite dancing baby groot toy!!) and then I found the box with the ring in but the note said "pass me to your handsome bastard" 😂 Which I did and he got down on one knee!! It was amazing and so much more than I could have asked for. He'd put so much thought into everything it was amazing!!!

Pibbee · 12/05/2017 22:44

Teaching is definitely a very stressful job! I used to get massively stressed out by work but I try my best not to let it get to me now as it's just not worth it!

I have only POAS stick once at work, and looking back I was acting like a bit of a loon! Goddamn pee sticks!

Hope everyone is having a good Friday night :)

MistyBxx · 12/05/2017 21:56

I could never be a teacher. I know a couple, and it's like... you're never really "off" work 😳 you're in work all day, then marking etc at home, then planning and parents evenings, exams, after school events, school plays etc. In my day job, even though it's quite intense when I'm there, when I go, I shut the door at 4:30pm and don't think about it again til I walk in the next morning! Don't feel down though... my friend (the one who made me cry showing up to our coffee meeting very pregnant the other week!) is a comprehensive teacher and a total stress head! But obv stress is no good for any of us. Can't help it when you feel that way though!x

Flatwhite31 · 12/05/2017 18:55

I definitely can't POAS at work. I also wouldn't feel comfortable doing it in a school lol.
I'm feeling a bit down tonight. Work is so bloody exhausting, and I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever conceive when my body is this exhausted and stressed. Sigh.

Forevertimes · 12/05/2017 18:09

I'm 7dpo- I think! 7 days until I can POAS so says OVia and today I've had some really weird 'spotting' .

Sorry TMI! I don't even really know what spotting means but in my usual discharge there have been some brown spots today. I have never had this part way through my cycle before so I have no idea what it is. Any ideas? Am I onto the next cycle?

Pibbee · 12/05/2017 11:08

Haha exactly @misty ! DP this morning was banging on about his friend who said the temping thing works...
I just said i have got enough things to angst about without buggering about taking my temperature every morning too! Although i am now kinda wondering....Hmm

MistyBxx · 12/05/2017 10:38

I've heard that opks are like opposite to pg tests, coz we always have LH in our systems, if we test first thing, coz we haven't drunk anything overnight, we may get a higher reading just because it's concentrated, so I think you're meant to test afternoon and evening so you've drunk plenty and if the LH level is high even when diluted, that's the way to get a truer reading. I THINK I don't swear by this lol.
I know what you mean pibbee I'm feeling under pressure already and my FW isn't even til next weekend 🙈

Pibbee · 12/05/2017 10:11

Omg @misty that dancing baby!!!!!!!!Shock

Happy Friday all!

@flatwhite I am new to the OPK lark but i think once the line starts getting darker you should do them 2 or 3 times a day so you don't miss the positive one. Morning and evening should be fine if you can't pee on sticks at work!!

I am in the boring limbo stage at the moment, AF has buggered off and it will be FW in about 10 days! Meh i have grown to hate FW, is that bad!? HmmConfusedGrin

Flatwhite31 · 12/05/2017 07:19

Haha @Misty, I hate the term BD too! I'm going to pee on sticks this month too, then try and keep DTD every few days thereafter. Every other day is just too much for me in term time. I work ten hours a day in school alone, then there's more in the evenings and weekends, so I'm often shattered. Got my OPKs ready! According to Ovia, I should start on Sun. What's the best time of day to do OPKs? My fear is never getting a positive!

MistyBxx · 12/05/2017 00:33

Ok let's all agree it's totally cringe and won't say it again... makes me think of this... bleughhh 😂😂🙈🙈🤢🤢😷

Pibbee · 11/05/2017 22:08

Hahahah @misty I hate that phrase too!! Makes me cringe! Grin

MistyBxx · 11/05/2017 21:50

Wow forever 😍 love the idea of a siesta culture! I used to be a holiday rep (only in Menorca, nowhere exotic lol) but I'd work 9-1 then 4-8, I loved it! I wish they'd do that here! But not til 8 at night lol, want the best of both worlds see! 😂
Nothing to report with me girlies. Just waiting to start peeing on sticks and timing my baby-dancing... god I actually hate that phrase lol 😂

Forevertimes · 11/05/2017 21:13

@emma and @pibee
Yeah, I'm pretty much dead at 6.30am too! The children come into my class straight away and are there until 2pm. It's the norm here because there is a 'siesta' culture here. Even offices/banks etc all close between 1pm and 4pm here. It definitely takes some getting used to.

I'm in the gulf about 1 hour flight from Dubai.

It's the weekend here now and I am so tired!!! It's 11pm and I just woke up from my 'siesta'.

How's everyone else today?

charl19 · 11/05/2017 08:16

Wow we really are all over!! I'm from Gloucester so quite near to you twisted but now I live in Cardiff since about August last year ☺️

Flatwhite31 · 11/05/2017 07:22

@forevertimes, 3 weeks! I finish on July 21st, and am already done in! Are you in Dubai? My parents used to live there, so I have been there loads.

We have been together for 3 years today, so hoping to have a nice evening Wink if I'm not too done in from school. We'll have to see!

Pibbee · 10/05/2017 23:20

*seem to get, that was meant to say!

Pibbee · 10/05/2017 23:19

@forevertimes where are you that starts school so early?

@emma hmm I wonder who you work for! Whenever I call my mortgage company I se to get a geordie at the end of the line...mI love it!

As for me, Im just back home after a work night out and my cat is attacking me...always does after being home alone all day bless him! He's my fur baby :) :)

littleemma1 · 10/05/2017 22:12

@forever oh my goodness, you have to start work everyday at 6.30am?! 😱😱😱 I'd be dead. I do not do early mornings. Just don't speak to me before 8am, and especially don't speak to me if I haven't had breakfast!
@millie I was thinking that about @misty too!! Lol.
How long are your cycles normally? Could still be your month, when you think you've tried the least too!!
@pibbee, I do like that I have a strong accent actually. I work in a call centre (it's actually a good place to work! 😊) and it's the first thing people pick up on which is quite a good conversation starter.

Forevertimes · 10/05/2017 21:36

School starts at 6.30am here because of the heat so definitely not time to DTD in the morning, even though it's my favourite! Getting DH to wake up on time to drive me to school is hard enough haha

I'm cd25 and ovia says 9 more days until I can POAS but I'm not feeling overly hopeful this month, with the medication I was taking which said it makes conceiving more difficult. But we will see.
