Ha @ttcnovice I've sometimes been testing without the requisite 4-hour pee-hold so is it any wonder that they aren't working properly for me!? Hmm

Oh I didn't realise that a break for 3 days will mean the CB re-sets itself. I got the goddamn flashing little bugger this morning (properly needed a wee since like 5am but held it in until it was a more respectable time to start pissing on sticks Grin), I'm sick the sight of him! Was hoping the result would be blank circle to indicate that hormones levels had sufficiently subsided but again, this is all based on guesswork! I haven't done biology since GCSE and here I am diagnosing myself and acting like some kind of fertility expert ha. Enough of that methinks.

I have attached my pic of the IC opks so far (shortly after taking this pic, the cat marched across them...Hmm). Not even the slightest bit positive are they! So can I assume el surgo has been and gone? Bloody hope so tbh.... How did you get on this morning with the CB?

ttcnovice · 21/04/2017 01:24

Pibbee apparently once the reader gives a "high" reading it will carry on giving "high" readings until either it detects the LH surge, or you don't test for more than 3 days. So if you'd missed the surge it would still read "high" even if your oestrogen levels were dropping back off. Not very helpful for knowing if you have ovulated yet is it sorry 🙈. If I were you I'd just carry on (both testing and DTD) a few more days just incase and see what happens! My lines are the same as yours at the moment if that's any help - a strong blue control line and a very pale blue second line. The last few cycles of using these the second line gradually gets darker before tailing off again - the first month after the "peak" and the other months after when I assume I missed the surge!

I didn't end up testing again throughout the day (needed to pee too much so couldn't get a good 4 hour hold BlushGrin), so will just see what it says in the morning now!

Pibbee · 20/04/2017 23:25

@littleemma how are the boobies? I have had that before too. It's all so random!

Pibbee · 20/04/2017 23:24

Oh - I have not really been looking at the lines on the CB tests but I will from now on! Are there meant to be two lines? Mine from earlier this eve had a strong blue and I think a very pale second blue line...

Pibbee · 20/04/2017 23:23

@ttcnovice I got the flashing smily again just now! So that's 4 full days of it Hmm. I am wondering if I missed the surge as I didn't test between about 10am Tuesday and 11pm yesterday. I guess I could have missed it but that seeing as estrogen levels are still high (are they still high after the surge? Totally guessing here!)then it's still registering as high fertility....OR, I'm still waiting to ovulate. DUNNO. will see what's what tomorrow. Any thoughts on this scenario?

Tried one of the IC ones earlier and I'm not too sure how they work! They seem so simple when other people do them and then when I try I'm not too sure what I am looking for!

Have you had the solid smily yet?

ttcnovice · 20/04/2017 13:39

Hi Pibbee I had the flashing smiley still this morning too, so the third day of it. I haven't had any pains or anything like you though so I think I'm still waiting to ovulate yet. You could well have missed the surge - I remember reading that it can last for as little as 4 hours! Maybe do another one this evening and see what it says? Are you looking at the lines on them too? I'm not sure if you're supposed to base anything by them, but my test lines do tend to darken as my cycle goes on so I do use it as a sort of indicator anyway.

littleemma1 · 20/04/2017 13:38

@pibbee I've never used anything other than internet cheapies and could count on one hand how many times they've not worked - I've found them to be pretty spot on!
I think I've lost track of what CD I'm on now without actually looking at Ovia, but another strange symptom has appeared which I've not had before even with PMS... (tmi alert!) but my nipples are tingling like mad and feel so raw that it hurts even having my bra on! Ouch 😖

Pibbee · 20/04/2017 11:59

@ttcnovice how are you getting on with them ?

Pibbee · 20/04/2017 11:58

Omg these Internet cheapie opk sticks are weird! Tried one last night and didn't work cos flooded the damn thing. They are so tiny compared to the CB ones!

Also - I got another flashing smily this morning, which is the 4th day of them. But I had what I thought were ov pains on my left hand side yesterday (and a little bit today) so assumed ov was happening. So why am I still getting the flashing ones?! So annoying. Am wondering if I missed my surge yesterday as I refused to do any after my argument with DP - the one I eventually did was around 11pm and the one before was about 10am the previous day so well over 24 hours apart. Could I have missed it? Kinda hope so tbh as if that's the case then me and DP have all bases covered; if I've not got there yet then we need to carry on!

charl19 · 20/04/2017 08:51

Aw misty it's totally shit isn't it to be blunt 😂 my DH sister told us she was about 4 weeks pregnant last week and it was a total kick in the teeth for me. I know I should be happy for her, and I am defo getting there after getting over myself a little bit but tbh with you I was totally gutted when I found out and I cried for ages as well!! I think sometimes we are allowed to feel like this, we're only human!! Feel your pain but there isn't anything we can do except get over it unfortunately. Big love xx

Emma totally get what you said as well! So annoying isn't it 😂

Pibbee fingers crossed for something sticky when you're dtd!! Glad hubby on board properly now!!! X

Pibbee · 20/04/2017 00:14

@millie congrats on the promo!!

@charl and @littleemma sounds like you have the right attitude! Just seeing what happens is the best approach I think, from a mental health perspective if nothing else!!

@Misty sounds like you are getting there. Take all the time you need and don't rush back to work or anything like that. I can totally understand your reaction to seeing your friend. Your time will come! All of our times will come Smile

And on that note I'd better go (back to) sleep! Night chicks!

Pibbee · 20/04/2017 00:10

Hi all....well DP seems to have taken my ranting seriously this time as an impromptu DTD just occurred (hurrah!!!!)! Peed on a stick earlier (his request!) And it was a flashing smily, which means baby-making time but not peak baby-making time. All good!

I'm so glad he seems to have listened cos it was really starting to do my head in. Hopefully this will continue now! Am thinking a mega-strop was needed really. He is totally on board with the whole thing and hopefully he gets it a bit more now and understands that it's not a case of getting knocked up whenever the mood takes you - it's called trying to conceive for a reason dammit!

So if nothing else I think we can finally say that we've had a pretty good bash at it this time. Am happy with that!

littleemma1 · 20/04/2017 00:07

Hey Misty, I totally get you and haven't been through what you have.
I'm desperately broody at the moment, and anytime I hear someone else is pregnant I try my best to be happy for them but it's sometimes so hard!
Everyone around me is either getting engaged or announcing they're pregnant and I'm so envious of them (even though I know I have it all to come, and probably not that far off either!) and it makes me feel like such a bad person.
I have found that it has tipped me over the edge and brought on the tears, but for me I think it's mainly the impatience in me but I can totally understand your reasons! Xx

MistyBxx · 19/04/2017 22:23

Hey girlies,
Well I've been pretty good recently, but I got well and truly baby bombed this morning 😳 now I've never been one to envy pregnant ladies AT ALL, it's never been on my radar, when ttc, I've been over the moon hearing of others around me growing new humans, and even since my mc, there's been various friend's baby announcements on fb and I've not batted an eyelid, but this morning... 😳 I had a last min coffee date with a couple of (not overly close but lovely) buddies who I haven't seen in 7 months, myself and one of them got married within a month of eachother, was looking forward to seeing them, in I walked and up she stood, absolutely blooming with a big 20 week bump! I was in such shock, my face dropped and I felt myself go white! I checked myself quickly and was like omg WOW like this is amazing! And it IS amazing, I'm genuinely happy for her, she's 4 yrs older than me at 37 and over the last couple of years we've briefly discussed children but she's never seemed fussed, it's always been me saying I'm gonna go for it etc, and I honestly don't know what came over me, my stomach just dropped, I had to sit down! They didn't notice, it was such a muddle of hugs and congrats and haven't seen you in so longs, I got away with it! It was only a short catch-up and she said coz of her age she was worried and expected to have troubles but just came off bc and boom, honeymoon baby. I really am so pleased for her, I know how hard ttc can be and I'm glad as she's a little older she hasn't had to stress like I have but I can't believe how I felt, I went home and cried my eyes out, mostly out of guilt for feeling so bad! I haven't cried like that in a couple of weeks now, and it made me realise that I'm actually not ready to go back to work and I'm off for a few more weeks for a reason. The physical side may be over but I'm obviously not as emotionally strong as I thought.
On the other hand, hubs has shaved his beard off today (I've been nagging him for weeks) and came out of the shower earlier looking and smelling like a GOD and I had to pounce on him 😂 so I'm casually dtd as and when I feel, sod protection lol and will start tracking properly after next period xx

littleemma1 · 19/04/2017 22:15

Girls I'm so pleased I stumbled across this thread!
I often wonder all of these things too!
@pibbee I love your description of "boy stuff"
Still no AF for me. CD 55 and counting. Just hoping I get some answers on Tuesday when I go for the ultrasound. As I haven't had a period in so long, the OH and I have adopted a "f**k it, let's just ride the horse properly instead of getting off at the last hurdle" approach and we'll just see what happens. I'm pretty sure there's no chance I'll end up pregnant when my bloody cycle can't decide what it's doing but it would be amazing if it did happen nonetheless! Xx

charl19 · 19/04/2017 19:56

Millie congrats on promotion!

charl19 · 19/04/2017 19:56

Sorry ladies just catching up! Seems like everyone seems to be syncing hehe!! Hope you're ok after your fall jelly xx

Sorry can't remember who replied to misty, but that's quite helpful to know that that's why! When I went for my confirmation scan, we did ask if we could just carry on as normal and the midwife said yeah, because the scan has shown everything is clear it's fine and safe to just carry on.

So my AF finished at the end of last week so think I might now be reaching my FW. Haven't ever used OPKs or anything like that, we've decided to just go with the flow for the next couple of months and then get serious if nothing happens in that time. Don't quite know how to use them tbh!

Good luck to everyone dtd-ing! Lots of energy and baby dust all around!

Xxx

Millie1994 · 19/04/2017 19:43

Just watching OBEM and thought of you all! Love this show!

@JellyBean89 My implant was in my arm - it hurt coming out a lot more than you would expect seeing as it is quite little! Horrible about your fall! Hope you are recovering well x

AF lasted 4/5 days for me which was a nice change from the 10 days I would have with the implant in. Fingers crossed this is the start of a normal cycle and I ovulate, quite excited about the thought 😄

I can't believe it's the middle of April already. Where has this year gone?! I got a promotion yesterday 😄

Is anyone testing soon?

Twistedsister7 · 19/04/2017 13:20

Thanks for the reassurances both!! This thread is ace!!

ttcnovice · 19/04/2017 13:01

Thanks Twisted and Pibbee - the things we talk about on here hey BlushGrin. I think I'll go with it being ewcm in that case as it was definitely colourless and quite 'loose' rather than being jelly-like/solid.

Twisted 3 days in the fw is definitely enough, don't worry! It's better to have the sperm there waiting for the egg anyway, so DTD before ovulation will always be better than afterwards!

Pibbee · 19/04/2017 12:53

No such thing as tmi on here!!! That's why this thread is so good! I can't talk about any of this to anyone as no one knows we are TTC!

Anyway, my understanding is that if it's the stretchy stuff then it's ewcm and if it's not stretchy/jellylike (NICE!) it's either normal cm or boy stuff.

But I am by no means an expert!!!!

Twistedsister7 · 19/04/2017 12:24

Ttc I've wondered that myself!! I think ewcm is really clear whereas the semen is not quite so clear Blush

I'm pretty sure I'm now in the tww as OPKs getting fainter. I must have missed a positive in the night sometime!

Fx my 3 days counts for something as I'm really getting down about it now. They really should be more honest when teaching sex-ed in schools!!

ttcnovice · 19/04/2017 11:41

Pibbee and any others who notice EWCM... can I ask a question please? Might be a little TMI even for this thread Blush. How can you tell the difference between possible CM and leftover semen? I had some 'stuff' on wiping this morning but I'm not sure which out of the two it was! It seemed colourless and wasn't sticky which made me think maybe ewcm, but maybe semen changes after it's been inside all night? Those in the know please educate me ha! Blush

ttcnovice · 19/04/2017 11:29

Pibbee your DTD efforts on Monday will definitely have you in with a chance don't worry! Do you think you can make up with DP tonight so you can fit another try in? I'm going to read up on that sperm process you've just mentioned - I love an excuse to do some research when I'm supposed to be working Grin. I had the flashing smiley again today so will see what happens tomorrow. Still feel like it's too early for a peak but the first month I used these CB's I did get it on CD12 so you never know I suppose!
