Here's the new link!! Hopefully everyone can mooch over when you're ready 😘

MistyBxx · 16/05/2017 09:09

Omg littleemma I've got sooooo much to tell you about weddings. I'm so excited for you!!xx

littleemma1 · 16/05/2017 07:43

I keep flooding my IC OPK's, still doing them as I'm interested to see how often I'll ovulate with this PCOS.

Help please - where do we start with the wedding?! I feel like we need to pick a couple of provisional dates and then see if our venue and registrar have those dates, am I right?! 😂🙈

Flatwhite31 · 16/05/2017 07:29

Oh no @MistyBxx! See, it's better to be messy Grin. I do that a LOT in my classroom and at home! Hope you find them.

Welcome @carbqueen88 (love the username!). Hope you had a lovely honeymoon! Mine was a month ago in the USA. Where did you go? Good luck for the TTC journey. I'm on cycle 3 and using OPKs, but finding them very confusing. Everyone on here is lovely, so you'll feel very welcome. X

Oh girls you'll never guess what I've done... lost my opks 😂😂😂 I put them in a "safe" place a few weeks ago when I was rearranging everything and tidying up... peed in a little cup earlier and was wandering around the house clutching said cup of pee, searching for them!!! I've got about 35 little strip sachets SOMEWHERE and I can't for the life of me find them!

Flatwhite31 · 15/05/2017 18:52

The lines are a bit darker today, but still not the same colour as the control! Again, the Boots line is way darker than the internet cheapie line. I guess both of them getting darker is a good sign though? Only doing them once a day, as I don't want to obsess and get stressed out. Ought to DTD tonight but I'm shattered! Will have to try and fight my exhaustion!

MistyBxx · 15/05/2017 18:14

Hi girlies, sorry I've been awol, had a busy few days! Climbed Pen Y Fan on Saturday (a mountain peak in Wales) and was totally unprepared, thought it was gonna be a nice winding trail but nope, hour and a half, 886 metres of just uphill... I am in agony, can barely walk and back to work today after 6 weeks off! And it's pouring down with rain! So not a great Monday but work was ok actually, I'm on phased return so only going back for short days this week and next before the full days come back. Everyone was really nice, no bitchy comments this time. When my legs stop killing me, I'm going back to the gym too. Get some healthy routine on the go!
emma MASSIVE congratulations on your lovely engagement!!😍 omg what a lovely fiancé you have! My hubs did absolutely nothing to propose lol 😂 my ring was wrapped up amongst other Christmas presents and when I opened it he said "put it on then." 🙈😂😳 honestly. You're so lucky and now you've got so much excitement ahead! I wish I could do it all over again! I'm gonna send you the link to my wedding blog on here when it's published so you can have a nose! But then you'll know who I am lol 😂🙈but hey, I feel like we are friends now girlies.
twisted glad you've been sorted at the docs, loads of info but it's good you've got a plan now and something to focus on! Can I just say, you do NOT look obese! It's mad what the doctors consider overweight though isn't it, my mum is a size 16-18 and they warned her she was at risk of diabetes and said she was "morbidly" obese! I mean come on! Mind you, they also consider 2 large glasses of wine a night "binge drinking" lol thank god they don't see me out on a Saturday night lol. But best of luck hun.
Gutted af is arriving girlies 😳 but if it's earlier than normal, it may not be actual af, wait for the test!!
I'm on cd10 and about to do my first opk for the month lol here we go 🙈xxx

Pibbee · 15/05/2017 12:12

I mostly want to avoid them as they drive me insane! Im gonna be away for the vital days this month I think, which is annoying, but on the other hand it'll be good from the point of view of not going mad, peeing on sticks etc. Pfffff.

How is everyone today? Anyone testing soon?

Twistedsister7 · 14/05/2017 22:47

I'm avoiding OPKs for now as never got consistent results. So frustrating.

Pibbee · 14/05/2017 22:21

@flatwhite can you try another cheapie one? Maybe the line will have gone darker by now? I don't know why they are so different....Last cycle I was trying to do the Clearblue ones as well as the cheapie ones, but found it all so annoying I just stopped! (And then I wonder why I am not knocked up...Hmm)

Re my friend, she is actually quite far along it turns out! Ive not actually seen her for ages so she's been able to keep quiet! She has had a really late miscarriage in the past so i totally get why she's not been shouting from the rooftops this time.

DP seems to have a bit more understanding of the fact that there are fertile days, as opposed to thinking you can just get pg forever. FINALLY!!!!

Flatwhite31 · 14/05/2017 22:15

@Pibbee I'm on CD 12. I just don't get how the two lines on the different tests are so different! The Boots one is sooo visible (although not as dark as the control line unfortunately), but the line on the other test is a squinter.
It's difficult hearing about other people's pregnancies isn't it. It must be so lovely for your friend after all her heartache, although I can imagine she must be nervous. I know I would be! Let's hope it's our turn soon.

Pibbee · 14/05/2017 22:02

Evening all!

@twisted I am glad you got some info from the docs! A lot to take in no doubt but you must feel better for having got some advice.

@forevertimes sorry to hear AF is on the way! I get random brown crap before AF. Its annoying. Onwards and upwards for next cycle....

@flatwhite what cycle day are you? OPKs are a nightmare, I hate them.

I have had a baby bomb this eve, a friend of mine just told me she is pg....Am pleased for her of course, also she has had several miscarriages along the way, can't help wondering when it will be my turn though!Blush

Flatwhite31 · 14/05/2017 21:03

Meant to say sorry to hear you think AF is on the way @Forevertimes. I was disappointed when my cycle 2 AF arrived, especially after all the sex we had on honeymoon, but my DH has been so positive which really helps!

Flatwhite31 · 14/05/2017 21:02

Omg @Forevertimes! 15 weeks without a break is so long! Make the most of your summer hols.
@Twistedsister7, hope you're feeling ok after your appointment. Sounds like you're doing all the right things with your diet, going to the gym etc.
We are officially in the fertile week (according to Ovia) and have DTD twice so far (not at in laws though, haha!). I'm already confused by OPKs though. A Boots one I got a while back had a clear, visible line, but it wasn't quite as dark as the control line. An internet cheapie barely showed a line at all! I know that means both are negative, but I don't understand why the line on the boots one is so so much clearer, whereas the line on the other one is barely visible. Strange. The only possible ov symptom I have had so far, which I had last month, is a big increase in sex drive which I'm not going to complain about!

Forevertimes · 14/05/2017 20:41

@flatwhite I said all that and then got the term dates for next year.... they are horrific to say the least!! 15 week term 1 with no half term break!

I think I'm out for this cycle. AF due in 5 days but I've now got cramps along with my brown cm on wiping (sorry tmi). Think AF will start tonight or tomorrow morning.

Feeling gutted but DH has said not to be too disappointed because it will just make us more stressed next month. Positive thinking for cycle 3.

How's everyone else getting on?

Twistedsister7 · 13/05/2017 20:52

Hi guys. So I had my dr appointment and wanted to share info in case it is of use to anyone else.

I got conflicting messages from a family planning nurse & my diabetic nurse. I am type 2 & obese. FP nurse said I was ok on my Metformin but keep trying to eat well & exercise. Diabetes nurse was horrified I was ttc & said it wasn't a great idea.

Dr was incredibly helpful & explained that it was fine ttc on Metformin but agreed I should continue with a weight loss plan & exercise whilst ttc. She explained that should I fall pg I should request an immediate referral to midwife & it was likely they may switch my Metformin for insulin for first three months. She said this was not an issue & shouldn't cause me any problems. She went on to explain the higher risks of being pg & diabetic and prescribed me 5mg folic acid to take whilst ttc & once pg. She also pointed out that there was no confirmed link between my being obese & diabetic and I have a family history. Losing weight will be helpful but I may always be diabetic & having a baby is entirely possible as long as I follow advice & get the required medical intervention.

The day after I attended a diabetes group regarding eating well & learnt a lot!!

All in all I left feeling relatively positive & at least like I understood now what the risks were and the perceived severity & likelihood of these risks.

So keeping up with gym & low GI diet & dtd whenever the mood takes!!

charl19 · 13/05/2017 18:35

Emma massive congratulations!! So exciting! Xx

littleemma1 · 13/05/2017 13:09

Thanks everyone!! 😁 So excited, I'm literally bouncing around on cloud 9 today!!
Can't wait to get the plans in place!
Still sending my luck to everyone ttc and keeping everything crossed for you all. Can't wait for everyone's updates! Xxx

Flatwhite31 · 13/05/2017 11:07

Definitely Twisted. I was NOT in the mood last night at all. So tired and moody! However, woke up and was really in the mood, so we just went for it. Not even in FW week yet, so it definitely felt more spontaneous, which is nicer in a way. Glad you're enjoying your gym routine.

Twistedsister7 · 13/05/2017 11:03

Emma huge congratulations - I loved being engaged & wedding planning!!

I have been enjoying my new gym routine I actually hadn't checked any apps for days. Logged into Ovia this morning & im in fw apparently. DH literally pounced this morning so yay. But I'm still trying to forget the fact we're ttc if you get what I mean!! More spontaneity.

Flatwhite31 · 13/05/2017 10:27

@Forevertimes you are spot on there. I just wish we were in the position to do the same! That said, I adore my school, the children, the other staff and the actual teaching side of things, but the pressure and bureaucracy is a joke. My ideal situation would be part time. I know I'd be working for free on days off, but at least I'd have the weekends!
I had brown spotting most days after AF. Thankfully it has stopped now. No idea what caused it!
