TWW - anyone else testing in early March?

satsoooma · 20/02/2017 16:24

I'm just starting the dreaded TWW and could use some company. All the other threads on this seem to have reached the testing stage already.

I am 2-3 dpo and planning to test on 4 March. We have been TTC for about 18 months and are getting fertility treatment. I am pretty sure I ovulated this month though, so I have have high hopes for this cycle.

Dangle I have no idea what on earth my body is doing this month either. I have had o pains and a couple of almost positive opks but also tracking CM and CP and none of them correlate! One sign could mean I have o'd another that I haven't yet but will and another that I won't at all thiso month! Wtf?! Also I read that not all women do get strong positives on opks
Also usually my boobs really hurt after ovulation but they don't at the moment! Lol
So confusing Confused

dangle90 · 21/02/2017 15:17

Haha a spreadsheet! I bet that's handy though! Well just done an opk and it's as white as can be so I have no idea what these bad pains in my right side are! X

Buddah101 · 21/02/2017 15:16

I think I speak for us all when I say, " we need to see your graph please"

Im actually quite jealous of you all, I never can be bothered to keep up to date with apps and such, I make a note in the calendar bit on my phone when my 1st day is then when im due on, so I know when i can start thinking of testing.

Anything ele I just forget to write down but do the opk's religiously when i think im about to OV. - I see were all keeping someone buys on ebay too by buying the cheapies in bulk Wink

ethelfleda · 21/02/2017 12:49

Oooh I love a good spreadsheet!!

satsoooma · 21/02/2017 12:47

I can't imagine what kind of melt down Ovia would have given my irregular cycles (29-290 days). But I do have a massive spreadsheet where I log all sorts of useful info. I even made a graph out of it Blush

OP posts:
ethelfleda · 21/02/2017 12:42

I do use Ovia but only really for historical info so I can see how long my cycles have been and record when we dtd etc etc - I just don't take the green week as being my fertile week! I also started using fertilitu friend this month to record my Temps (first cycle temping)
I think the answer is to have as much sex as possible 😁 I'm going for every day until I'm sure I'm out of my fertile week! But I did read that every other day should be enough too.

actino · 21/02/2017 12:33

I do use an app to track my temperatures and ovulation because my cycle had previously been quite variable, but I haven't been using opks until this month.

xStefx · 21/02/2017 12:16

I gave up on the app as it was also assuming I would ovulate on day 14. My ovulation pains were telling me different and OPK confirmed that.

dangle90 · 21/02/2017 11:53

Ps I'm also a worrier and thinking the same 😂x

dangle90 · 21/02/2017 11:52

Hi action ! 👋🏼
Oh really so you don't bother with an app then, well according to Ovia I'm out of my fertile window now, but I've got such right handed pains today! Going to do an opk later I think just out of curiosity! I'm 26, 27 in May! And this will also be our first x

ethelfleda · 21/02/2017 11:48

Hello actino Smile

ethelfleda · 21/02/2017 11:47

Yes it definitely is! I'm already convincing myself that I'm out as I might not actually o this month! I'm a bit of a worrier 😊
I find ovia isn't very accurate for figuring out your fertile window. It always assumes I'm going to ovulate 2 weeks after AF rather than 2 weeks before if that makes sense? I use it but I work out the fertile days myself going on past months.
I'm 32 and this will be our first 😊

actino · 21/02/2017 11:45

Hi, I am also about to start my 2ww. I had a faint opk last night ands will test again this afternoon. I'm using them because I got a bunch with my thermometer, but I'm generally trying to make sure there are a bunch of swimmers around when I ovulate. My periods have been very regular in the last 4/5 months, so hopefully I'm ovulating today or tomorrow. Here are my stats:

Age 33
Cycle 2
Trying for #1

dangle90 · 21/02/2017 11:23

It's all hard to get your head around isn't it Ethel but that's looking good Spesh if this morning was darker still. Strange how different apps give you different estimated ovulation dates aswel! Hard work this baby making malarkey 😁 how old are you all?

ethelfleda · 21/02/2017 11:09

Hello hpnerd and stef Smile

satsooma that is a mighty fine positive!!

dangle this is my first month trying to get to grips with opks too... I usually ovulate on CD 12 (yesterday) and have had strong lines but not sure if they are positive! I have attached last night's. Did one this morning FMU and it was darker again. I hate the whole not drinking thing as well because I drink loads of water usually so not sure if I have missed O or whether it is still coming! Also my temp had increased this morning by 0.1c
Just going to keep DTD until I'm sure fertile window has passed!

TWW - anyone else testing in early March?
dangle90 · 21/02/2017 10:59

Congrats on the positive opk satsooma! Good luck 😁

dangle90 · 21/02/2017 10:50

Thanks so much for your advice ladies I do appreciate it!! First week of Dec I came off the pill so it was more of a just checking I was actually ovulating which I'm sure I am, we have been dtd in my fertile window since then but as stated earlier I suppose it's just luck isn't it :), I knew the opks weren't positive, I wasn't doing them enough to catch my positive, only done them a few times. My periods are regular though so again thanks for all the advice I think I will just give them a miss next month as was causing more stress than anything else I think! Good luck to you all 😘

satsoooma · 21/02/2017 10:44

I test at work - around 2pm. I basically don't go to the loo or have tea/coffee between lunch and 2pm, which is not very long at all. Then I have a teeny-tiny jam jar that I can fit in my pocket, together with an amazon cheapie OPK test. I do the test, go make some tea, then stop by the loo again after 10 mins to check the result.

Sorry Dangle, but those look negative to me. If you have regular cycles, then you are probably ovulating, so as long as you DTD regualrly, OPKs aren't necessary. But if you want to keep using them, maybe try testing a few different times during the afternoon. Also maybe widen the range of days you are testing - even with regular cycles, the peak could come much earlier/later than you are expecting. CD10-25 should cover it.

This is my positive from this cycle (on the right). I am so proud of it, because I have PCOS and managing to ovluate at all is a big deal for me :) I think this is only the 2nd-3rd time in two years!

doodledragon · 21/02/2017 10:35

To be honest dangle, if you're dtd regularly over the fertile period, you're pretty much covered, an opk only gives you some info on a surge for future reference - to give info on what tends to happen for you. Temping confirms ovulation too, again only to let you know for future reference.

My first son was conceived via every other day during an app guessed fertile period (my periods are 24/25 days though sometimes 29) so my fertile period can be from day 8- day 18! Hence I wanted a clearer picture for me.

In hind sight I saw a slightly stronger opk on day 10 with my son (morning testing) and he was apparently conceived on day 11. But it was of no actual use at the time! It was my first month of trying - the every other day but was the key bit.

xStefx · 21/02/2017 10:19

I test at 4pm when I get home from work . I had a faint line Thursday (4pm) , strong on Friday (4pm) and strong again 10am Saturday .. then nothing on sunday. I had been drinking tea in work all day and it still worked :-)

dangle90 · 21/02/2017 10:10

Don't you think I'll of missed it by now though, according to Ovia I'm out of my fertile window, and Sundays looks very faded like I've missed it. But we dtd every other day over fertile window so hopefully I caught it wherever it was. Oh don't you? That's what was stressing me out the most the not been able to drink etc! X

doodledragon · 21/02/2017 10:05

Dangle, try the evening? As soon as back from work. Mine showed as strongly at 8:30 pm. I didn't bother with the not drinking bit! I found it very hard at work last month; this month it's fallen while I'm not plus it's half term!

dangle90 · 21/02/2017 09:31

Hi Steph 👋🏼 x

xStefx · 21/02/2017 09:28

Hello :-) can I join you ladies please? I am 4 days DPO Cycle 3. I used OPK's this month for the first time as I have a 28 day cycle and assumed I ovulated on day 14. However I found out that I was actually ovulating on day 10. Luckily enough we had made provisions for that ...lol

AF due 6th March. Also only have one tube (left) but ovulated from the left this month so am hoping this could be the month.
