Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Aw sk1pper what a lovely message from your DH. So sorry AF got you, hope the painkillers do their job and it's not a painful one for you Flowers

Well done Jam 8 miles is impressive with no training!

Hope AF stays away kath

sk1pper · 09/03/2017 10:02

CD1 guys. I text my OH and he sent me the loveliest message, "Thought this was the one. You seemed different but didn't want to say anything - I know what you're like. Will always love you."

Had to go to the loos to cry over this a bit.

sk1pper · 09/03/2017 09:42

NB: on Paramol not Coccaine.

sk1pper · 09/03/2017 09:41

Jam - 8 miles, my brain can't even process this. Well done, don't you have AF right now too?

Kath - mate I feel your pain. My first meeting is in about an hour and my womb is feeling very, very tender. And the cramps are bad now. Good job I'm high as a fucking kite.

Kathrino · 09/03/2017 09:33

I've got a three hour meeting this afternoon sk1pper and I'm betting that AF arrives right at the start. Joy.

Well done on your run Jam, 8 miles is very impressive!

Miranda, I always have a day like that towards the end of my cycle. I was nearly in tears on Saturday because I couldn't find anything I wanted to wear. DH looked at me like I was crazy.

Londonjam · 09/03/2017 09:00

Hugs Miranda TWW hormones suck

Pyjamas hope your DH has come round. TTC puts such a strain on things. That's lovely you can turn to your mum. I don't talk to mine about it much at all, I don't think she really understands - having conceived four times without trying 🙄

I did the International Women's Day run last night! Woo hoo. It was 8 miles! And I haven't run properly for months! I ran with a friend and we had really lovely chats all the way. It was along the river and London looked very pretty all lit up. I've got two enormous blisters on my feet and I feel like I've unscrewed my hips but it was really great ☺️

Londonjam · 09/03/2017 08:39

Hopeful this is for your fibroid I think? That must have been a shock they want to move so quickly. How are you feeling about it? Three months recovery really will go so quickly - we had to wait three months for our initial consultation at the hospital and that flew by

Skipper I'm keeping everything crossed for you, this really is the hardest bit of the cycle.

sk1pper · 09/03/2017 07:53

Oui, well either yesterday or today as luteal phase has never been more than 12 days. I'm so frustrated, 9 times out of 10 it arrives early hours of morning. Now I have to deal with all of it at work...

Sorry for moaning!

Flashinthepan · 09/03/2017 07:42

skip are you due af today?

sk1pper · 09/03/2017 04:15

I was cramping really badly before bed, now I've woken up at my usual AF show time but I have no clue why I'm awake. Cramping has gone, heavy womb feeling gone and I'm just wide awake, twiddling my thimbs. It's going to be horrible if I come into my flow during work hours, I have a load of important meetings today. Ugh Sad

Pyjamas81 · 08/03/2017 22:34

So sorry hopeful - what a shock to the system indeed. Skipper's right - box sets all the way!

I enjoyed my evening watching last night's celebs go dating with my glass of 🍷. DH seems to be moody with me, god knows what about, but am not rising to it this time. I have my 6.30am PT session in the morning so am sleeping in spare room tonight (usually do as I have trouble getting to sleep knowing he's going to come up later and wake me up and it's easier to get ready for gym in morning not stumbling around in the dark!) Maybe we both just need a bit of alone time.

Hope AF stays away skipper - our bodies really do play mean tricks on us 😤

Had a good chat with my mum tonight - she's the one person outside DH that I can really chat to about this in real life!

sk1pper · 08/03/2017 21:50

Hopeful - if I was you, I'd be playing video games. Zero movement necessary except for thumbs :) But get a game plan of things to do while your resting, maybe one of those adult colouring books or buy a shit load box sets to watch on the telly.

Miranda234 · 08/03/2017 21:46

Hope AF stays away for you sk1pper, kathrino and anyone else waiting

Hope the run went well jam

hopeful that must have been a lot to take in, I hope they can rearrange for a few weeks so you can get some time to digest it Flowers

I'm somewhere in the TWW, not really sure when/if I ovulated but I'm at the stage of the cycle where I could cry at anything, hoping a good nights sleep will sort me out..

Hopefulbunny · 08/03/2017 21:18
  • Kathrino, yes it was a shock, my head is all over the place! Im hoping they will give we another date in a few weeks. I had already got all my stuff ready for hospital but will need to organise more if I'm going to be out of action for a few weeks!

Hope all is well with you? X

Hopefulbunny · 08/03/2017 20:57

Skipper thanks for your message. I wasn't expecting to have open surgery do I will be off work for a few weeks and won't be able to do much whilst I recover ( not great at resting at the best of times lol) i 'be given it some thought and I do want to go ahead with it but would like a few weeks to get prepared. I have to call them to see if it can be deferred for a few weeks but if they the wait time is another few months I will have to go ahead and have it done this week , quite a scary thought but need to get moving with it as soon as possible !

Hope AF has stayed away for you.

sk1pper · 08/03/2017 20:28

Hopeful - ugh no, not the result you were looking for. I hope they can defer it, you need time to process this kind of stuff. I hate it when stuff impacts your TTC cycles but 3 months will go so quickly, you may not even notice once you're on the road to recovery. Hope you're okay xx

Kathrino · 08/03/2017 20:12

Still crossing everything for you sk1pper and hoping that it's just a false alarm.

Jam, your sabbatical sounds amazing! We took 6 weeks off last year (although mostly unpaid for us) and it was brilliant. We totally switched off from everything and had the best time. I wish we could do it every year!

Hopeful, that must have been a real shock for you. One day is definitely not enough time to prepare for that kind of surgery, what a nightmare Flowers

Hopefulbunny · 08/03/2017 20:00

So my appointment with surgeon didn't go as I had planned. He said that I would now need a myomectomy which is more invasive surgery requiring a incision and a longer recovery and have to wait 3 months to ttc.

It was quite a lot to take in as I was previously only have quite minor surgery. I'm going to see if they can defer my appointment for a month because I'm not quite prepared for my op in 1 day!

Hope everyone else is okay.

sk1pper · 08/03/2017 19:04

I just know AF is going to hit me tonight. I can't feel that bitch...she's imminent. No idea why my boobs haven't been sore though, that's a new one for me - thanks body.

geeup · 08/03/2017 18:50

Wow London that is amazing!

Pyjamas81 · 08/03/2017 18:44

Yep - I know it's cheaper abroad but considering everything that's involved, cost of travel, accommodation, time off from work etc I just feel more comfortable doing it here. DH is a self-employed contractor as well so time away is money lost, and I wouldn't want to go without him!

Londonjam · 08/03/2017 18:16

Of course - I remember you saying now. Are you looking into doing it privately in the uk?

Pyjamas81 · 08/03/2017 17:51

We've had all the tests done and got the all clear other than my low AMH - they recommended IVF if no luck after a year of trying naturally as I'm quite literally running out of eggs. We want two eventually as well, so I don't want to waste time.

That's so amazing about your sabbatical!!

Londonjam · 08/03/2017 17:28

Pyjamas I had the exact same thought this morning on my way to work - how much it has helped me over the last 15 months having this place. Sometimes when I'm feeling so terrible I remind myself how strong people here are and the positivity and hope actually makes me feel stronger and like I can cope too.

Why are you thinking you will need IVF-ICSI? Have you had any tests done yet? It's so good to know we have options but I'm sure there is still a good chance of you conceiving naturally

Geeup I get 6 weeks paid leave this year for having worked here for 5 years. It's amazing really, plus it's on top of 28 days holiday and very good maternity pay. This company is difficult to leave. I always thought my sabbatical would coincide with maternity leave - but that is now looking very unlikely so we are talking about planning a big trip instead. DH reckons he can get a month off. I suffer from quite bad anxiety going away though so am going to have to get myself mentally prepared for it.

geeup · 08/03/2017 17:20

Jam - what's this about a sabbatical? What an amazing opportunity to get pregnant. Is it fully paid? Do you have to work? Can I have your job?
