Hello. Im currently 3-4 DPO (days post ovulation) with AF/BFP (Aunt Flo/Big Fat Positive) due 22-25th Feb! Did plenty baby dancing so fingers crossed and have promised myself not to symptom spot or go Google crazy this time. Ive also swore not to test until 18th Feb ... Do i have anyone in similar place so we can support each other and talk (while avoiding google lol) xx

Exactly! I'm going to try my hardest to wait now but if we slip up and test early we shouldn't be too hard on ourselves!

Just realised I put BFP before instead of BFN! Blush

teaandbics · 14/02/2017 17:47

Purple is right, of course you're not a failure! You just desperately want this, we all do, and that makes us do crazy stuff like testing even when we know it's too early to get an answer. Dust yourself down my lovely and back to the weekend testing plan. And if that doesn't work, who cares? The 2ww is about getting through, however you need to. It's just nice to have some kindred spirits going through it at the same time xx

PurpleTygrrr · 14/02/2017 17:26

Nature you are not a failure at all!! We all feel exactly the same an I've already done one of the cheapy tests today at only 4 dpo because I'm so impatient! BFP obviously but I'm symptom spotting like a nutter! I've had some light period type pains, a metallic taste in my mouth but I know it's probably all in my head as it's far too early! I just feel like we waited so long to be in a position to TTC that I just want it to happen now... Which is just going to make it harder in the long run!!

OnNaturesCourse · 14/02/2017 15:55

Feel like such a failure 😞 oh well...

Oh nature. Been there! It's rubbish how mental this ttc malarkey makes us. Look at it as a temporary blip. And anyway, it's best to get the crazy out of way early doors. That's what I normally tell myself anyway Wink. Hide the tests now! Xx

OnNaturesCourse · 14/02/2017 14:09

I caved 😩😱. BFN at 7DPO/CD20. Why do I do this to myself 😡 Sorry ladies xx

Pingus, yeah i think you need a lot of temp data before using to predict anything and there are a lot of factors that can effect it... 😕 my temp was different under each arm today! Lol

I'm so looking forward to the next week, so many of us will be testing, there must be some BFPs! Planning to test on 19th.

I tried temping when TTC #1, looking back at the data retrospectively there was a pattern every month but it took a while to identify it. And once you get the temp rise I think it may be a bit too late to DTD anyway? I put the thermometer under my tongue, it annoyed DH though as i wake up before him and it beeped and kept waking him up too! So I recommend a quiet thermometer!

Managed to avoid DHs lurgy so far, he is in quarantine in our bedroom and I have decamped to the spare room. It meant I got an unplanned day off to look after DD, we had a great time and it reminded me how much I enjoyed mat leave... fx for some more in nine months.

teaandbics · 13/02/2017 22:41

Ps, wishing you better nature

teaandbics · 13/02/2017 22:13

Thank you apple! Smile. It would be great to wait till 24th and test together. I always do it too early and put myself through the ringer! I may have to keep using my opks then, to deal with my poas addiction Wink. I'll tell you if I think I'm going to crack!

Ha. You asked the questions I was too chicken to raise!

Not many symptoms here yet. I had a little bit of cramping at the weekend. Nothing at all since then. Had the constipation thing in both pregnancies, pretty much from 10dpo just like you and the the whole way through Shock

OnNaturesCourse · 13/02/2017 22:06

Im waiting for Saturday!

reluctantlondoner · 13/02/2017 22:04

I always feel like I am having symptoms but so far nothing...

reluctantlondoner · 13/02/2017 22:00

I will promise to wait until Saturday if you will all promise with me!

OnNaturesCourse · 13/02/2017 21:35

Ive had little symptoms like being off food, literally not been feeling hungry for three days. Im eating out of habit, then feeling so full i get a travel sick feeling. Feel like im exhausted all the time, could sleep forever... Hit 12 hours kip on saturday through sunday !!! That said, ive got a stuffy, sinus blocked, nose and have just returned to work after long term sick so i think my symptoms are more related to that!

OnNaturesCourse · 13/02/2017 21:30

Anywhere you want! But pick somewhere n stick to it. I do the underarm. You need to get a certain kind of term, like one that reads two decimal places. Google ovulation temping you should find one xx

appleseedpip · 13/02/2017 21:22

Oh teaandbics I'd love to wait with you :) but totally understand if you want to test at the weekend!

Nature thank you for enlightening us! But.. still totally clueless.. Do you stick the thermometer in the mouth?... Arm pit? Or dare I even say.. bum bum? gasp! Shock lol

I was wondering if any of you ladies have had any symptoms yet? I mentioned before I had been mildly cramping and then today whilst I was shopping I had a one long sharp cramp in the front and then nothing.. Hmm I checked back at my notes from when I was last pregnant and I started getting proper symptoms at 10dpo and even constipated from 11dpo which lasted the whole duration of when I was pregnant. Seeing as I'm only about 5dpo I guess it's just gas, rumble and burps.

teaandbics · 13/02/2017 21:19

Oh thanks so much nature. I never really understood how temping works. Right, will have to get myself a thermometer. Sounds like another ttc thing I will no doubt get obsessed and confused over! Wink

OnNaturesCourse · 13/02/2017 20:56

Temping... Taking your body temp at the same time each day after your longest rest. It must be taken as soon as you open your eyes, so youre completely at rest. Pre ovulation your temps will average out at a lower reading than your post ovulation. After ovulation if your body is doing its thing right your temps should remain up through pregnancy or until AF. If you track it well you can start to see personal trends too... For example i tend to dip slightly before ovulation then dip, slightly, a few days after but still remain higher than my pre ovulation temps. Once you have your trends you can start to read your body a little better xx

teaandbics · 13/02/2017 20:46

Hi everyone,

AF is due on 24th for me apple, but don't think I have a chance in hell of not testing before then (going on past performances...). I'm going to try and hold off for as long as possible though and, yes, count me in for the not-before-the-weekend pact nature. Maybe you can talk me down help me wait it out apple? Smile

Ps, I've no idea how to temp either. Could some kind soul enlighten us?

appleseedpip · 13/02/2017 20:20

I'm going to try and wait till the 24th! (a day after AF is due) Ahh!? Is anyone else going to wait till then?.. Or just me?..

OnNaturesCourse · 13/02/2017 20:05

I'm desperately holding off until the weekend too. I think we should all make a promise to wait, and sit on our hands until at least the weekend!

OP posts:
KoolKoala07 · 13/02/2017 20:01

I did have a sneaky test today. Knew it would be a complete waste of money and time. As I expected bfn. Will now definitely wait until 17th to test. Maybe even 18th if no af. I never knew ttc was as involved as it is!

OnNaturesCourse · 13/02/2017 19:41

kool hello, welcome! Are you waiting until the 17the to test?

OP posts:
OnNaturesCourse · 13/02/2017 19:41

bumple welcome!! I think the urge to pee on a stick early has hit most of us at some point! But the results are not great so best to wait until minimum 4 days before AF ... That said ill be testing at the weekend lol.
