Yes we are Smile That totally makes sense, I must make changes then I think. My cycle is normally always 32/33 days without fail. So last cycle (cycle 7) I did OPKs for the first time and started on CD15 but never got a positive. Only for my cycle to end up being 28 days for the first time ever. 😡 So I've started on CD10 this time but if I'm drinking too much water for a positive anyway then I'd better try not to!

Have fun tonight Baguette! I know exactly what you mean, DH & I have been trying the same.

JeNeBaguetteRien · 20/05/2017 19:02

Ha well done on your agility Basset!
It's good to drink loads of water Beauty, but it means your wee is diluted a lot so maybe harder to pick up the hormones. Hoping to DTD tonight. Zero chance of pregnancy, just for fun. I'm trying to avoid having us only doing it "when it counts".

bassetmum · 20/05/2017 18:24

Nuts* even!!!

OP posts:
bassetmum · 20/05/2017 18:24

Oh well at least we are talking. It sounds nits but I dont ever get a positive if my wee is too pale if that makes sense. I tend to drink loads of water afterwards. What is your cycle length?

OP posts:
beautyisfoundwithin · 20/05/2017 18:03

Oh no! Glad you managed to save it though!

I did my OPK and it was negative. Thanks for the advice - actually I have been wondering about that. Do you think it makes a big difference? Only cos I drink loads and loads of water so I struggle to leave it a few hours!

Oops it appears that the two of us have completely taken over the thread! Blush

bassetmum · 20/05/2017 14:38

Lets just say i was on top and at the point of conclusion we almost came apart. I mean i was washing the sheets today anyway but i didnt want to have to strip them last night.

Ive also been having some aches and pains on my right hand ovary area so it's gearing up if not already. Will give it dtd another go tonight.

I will say remember not to drink loads and hold it for 2-3 hours before doing your opk beauty.

OP posts:
beautyisfoundwithin · 20/05/2017 14:17

Looks positive to me (although I'm by no means an expert) Haha sounds like there's an interesting story behind it nearly going terribly wrong?? Glad you managed it though.

I have taken a look at one of the other TTC threads but it seemed to move really fast with lots more people on it so it was a bit too daunting for me tbh!

Today is CD10 for me, going to do my first OPK of the cycle when I get home.

bassetmum · 20/05/2017 14:00

Well last nights opk was just positive. This one looks definitely positive I think at least irl it does.

bassetmum · 20/05/2017 11:28

We did manage to dtd. It nearly went totally wrong but managed to save it haha!!! I've had some more ewcm again this morning (which definitely isn't semen). I wonder why our little thread has gone quiet. Although I think I am the only one left on it since I joined in September so maybe they've all moved to long term ttc thread or to anti natal ones.

Well i think we all have times when we want to kill our partners haha.

OP posts:
beautyisfoundwithin · 20/05/2017 09:03

Thanks basset, of course there are also occasions when I could happily kill him too!! 😜 It has gone pretty quiet on here hasn't it? Did you get to DTD yesterday in the end? Sounds like your chances are as good as any if you manage Sat & Sun as well.

Fingers crossed for the Clomid Baguette.

Hi Francesca, welcome to the thread! I'm pretty new here too. You'll get used to the lingo in no time Smile

bassetmum · 19/05/2017 21:19

Hi francesca. Welcome to our little group. Some of the basic lingo

Cd - cycle day. Cd1 is first day of your period
Dtd - doing the deed aka having sex
Bfp - big fat positive
Bfn - big fat negative
Af - aunt flo aka period
Dpo - days passed ovulation
Opk - ovulation predictor kit

That's most of them i think.

Francesca1989 · 19/05/2017 21:12

Francesca1989 · 19/05/2017 21:11

JeNeBaguetteRien · 19/05/2017 20:57

Sounds like a good plan Basset! Fingers crossed for your 30 before 30 list. I'm 37 and 2 months, so almost at the point of the earliest I'll have a baby is 38! Scary how time flies, I don't feel so old!

I had lots of wine at lunch (AF spotting has started) so will soon be starting Clomid.

Hope everyone has a fun weekend!

bassetmum · 19/05/2017 19:43

This thread has gone really quiet! are we all really busy? Ive tried to stick with a different thread it just updates so frequently I can't keep up.

Well ive had a positive opk today and so much ewcm its crazy. Planning on dtd tonight and maybe both Saturday and Sunday.

OP posts:
FairyAnn · 19/05/2017 08:08

bassetmum Thanks, will keep that in mind :) Still, I'm going to take a break from it for a bit and see how I go

bassetmum · 18/05/2017 17:35

Fairy you do have to remember to take Google with a pinch of salt. I have still taken the odd one when i cant cope with the hayfever or when i do to my MIL or SIls as they have cats and im allergic. Great eh!!

Aww you DH sounds lovely beauty.

OP posts:
FairyAnn · 18/05/2017 16:45

Awww crap! Just Googled it and you're right! I'm such an idiot! I didn't even think -_-

FairyAnn · 18/05/2017 16:44

bassetmum I haven't heard that before? Does it effect TTC? I take them regularly due to sensitive skin and stress-related scratching.

beautyisfoundwithin · 18/05/2017 11:22

Hi all! Like basset I've been super busy but keeping up with everyone's progress.

Thanks so much for the advice flora. You're right, 10 per pack so will be going with your suggestions. Good luck for your test results, your bloods must be due any day now?

Hope you're feeling better now Toblerone

Kitty you've made me laugh with your hairy warnings!! I must admit I'm the same sometimes! DH is always like "Oh don't be silly it's fine" and I'm like "Noooooo!!"

I'm feeling very appreciative of DH this month. He's all "Right, come on, we CAN do this. If we want this baby let's get serious and make it happen!" Not in a patronising way, as if we haven't been trying already, just very positive and encouraging which is nice. I'm not sure if it's being on cycle 8, or if it's because we have had a lot of little ones' birthdays recently. We have 8 nieces & nephews aged under 7 and 5 of them have had birthdays in the last 5 weeks! So lots of picking out little clothes and toys etc!

Enjoy your fancy lunch and drinks at the weekend Baguette Wine

JeNeBaguetteRien · 17/05/2017 22:50

Glad you enjoyed the 🍷 and g&t Basset. Good luck with your DTD over fertile window, I'm sure you can afford a day off today.
DH asked when my next one is today as he has some work trips coming up, I sent a screenshot of my fertility app so he has it all at hand, though told him the Clomid might make things unpredictable.

Spotting has started and cramps so looks like AF is coming, this means I too will have wine and g&t's and a fancy lunch with DH at the weekend.

Nearly Friday ladies, roll on the weekend!

bassetmum · 17/05/2017 21:57

Fingers crossed for you baguette. Hopefully the clomid helps!! I'm taking (well when I remember) bots conception, q10 and omegas. Hopefully you aren't out this weekend.

Oh no pie. When I was a teenager I went through about 4 months of fortnightly periods it was awful. I hope it's nothing to ominous on your ovary.

Antihistamines fairy?? Ive been avoiding taking them as i read somewhere you shouldn't. Its been awful with my hayfever.

Hi ann. welcome! Im sure the odd g&t wont hurt. I met up with a friend yesterday and had half a bottle if wine plus another glass and a g&t. Felt so nice not to worry. Im 30 this year and been with my oh for 8 years. Its a secret item on my 30 before 30 list having a baby.

Hope you are feeling better toblerone.
*
Fx for a shorter cycle kitty!!* All i can say for grooming is I hope your DH is also groomed 😜.

Sorry for the radio silence been mega busy. Im cd 10 so far we've dtd on cd7 and 9. Not sure whether to try tonight or wait till tomorrow. My opk was negative today so think ive still got a few days.

OP posts:
KittyKat73 · 17/05/2017 16:07

haha thanks baguette although i think i have put the fear of god into DH i kept saying " im so hairy!! im so sorry but im soooooo hairy" so think im out of luck until holiday wax! xx

JeNeBaguetteRien · 16/05/2017 14:34

Oh cross post with you Kitty, tell DH it's a 70s night. The bush is back!
I'm pleased with the consultation so fingers crossed for all of us, good luck with your blood tests.

JeNeBaguetteRien · 16/05/2017 14:32

Oh Pie hope you get some answers soon. Sending lots of positive vibes.

Hope the symptoms and side effects clear up Toblerone.

Flora I'm not sure about the logic. As it's NHS I presume it's so much cheaper than IVF that it's cost-effective to try the Clomid and maybe also makes the patient feel better, like there's a plan in place. Obviously I'd be delighted if it worked. I have always got a peak on the Clearblue opks which I have used for the last 6 cycles but I don't temp and have had varying day 21 progesterone results so maybe the Clomid can be a bit of a nudge to the ovaries?

AF due at the weekend and I think I have some cramps already, I get spotting before AF. At this point I'm keen to try anything that's a bit less invasive before moving to IVF. Private fertility clinic said IUI would be a waste of time but gave a potential success rate of half of IVF but a quarter of the price so I'd be willing to try one or two cycles of that.

Welcome Anban try to have fun. You might decide not to totally ditch the g&ts, just cut down (or switch to something else).
