Don't worry Pillow - its easily done!

Sounds interesting Fairy - really hope that it is good news for you.

Beauty - wow so your SIL is an insensitive ass?! Luckily mine isn't mean or anything - just astonishingly fertile it seems. Cow.

Thanks for your kind words Unicorn and hope that AF eases off soon. My cramps have totally gone today and back to feeling more positive again!

FairyAnn · 03/05/2017 09:08

Thanks DancingUnicorn

I guess I could take a preg test Friday and then an Ovulation one on Sat if it is negative?

So many tests....

DancingUnicorn · 03/05/2017 08:14

Do you have a cheap test fairy? It might just be a weird af, but might be something else. No harm in testing. I think hcg can make opks not work properly (according to the instructions I read) so maybe double check before you start ovulation testing?

AF is here! Yay!! I can actually get back to trying now, not just waiting around. Never thought I'd be so happy to be in pain!

FairyAnn · 03/05/2017 08:09

Hi all, sorry for the absence recently - life got crazy!

I really need some advice as I'm all confused and my body is doing weird things!

(TMI warning ahead)

I'm in Cycle 4 and my average cycle length is 28 days. This month, I got to day 30 and no period - got excited!

Then on day 30 I get a bleed and I am sad. However, typically my period lasts for 3 days - this only lasted just over one day. And the more I thought about it, the more I realised it was very brightly coloured and I don't recall seeing any clotting.

Now I'm wondering if it was an implantation bleed? I've had a tiny bit of spotting today, but my 'period' finished on Monday, so what was that?

So, what do I do now? Take a pregnancy test or an ovulation test?

Help!

DancingUnicorn · 03/05/2017 07:26

Congratulations Eva on your engagement! Have fun with the planning. :)

Flora I'm sorry AF got you, and you're struggling with things. I'm glad you've got some family support. Hopefully it'll stop any unmeaningly insensitive comments coming your way. Hope the tests give you some answers about everything. Also, you're definitely allowed to feel sorry for yourself! Especially after baby bombs and wine!!

DancingUnicorn · 03/05/2017 07:21

Hi toblerone, it's cycle day. First day of full flow is cd1!

Loxy no denying that one. Really hope it sticks for you. Must be a stressful time for you!

TobleroneBoo · 03/05/2017 07:11

Would you mind telling me what CD... means when you are introducing yourself please?

Loxy4527 · 02/05/2017 20:18

Wow, couldn't resist a cheeky re-test this evening. What a difference 12 hours makes... one taken while it was still clearing, the other once it'd dried a bit better. Excuse poor lighting, it's getting dark out!

Fingers crossed for you Loxy, sending lots of sticky thoughts your way!

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time flora. I know exactly what you mean about feeling it's unfair when some people just get pregnant immediately. In fact SIL once told me it's a good job she's produced some grandchildren as DH and I "haven't bothered to yet"!! I hope your tests give you some useful answers. Sounds like you are already managing to think positively.

Congratulations on your engagement Eva!! And good luck for Thursday.

Welcome to the thread Toblerone! I'm very new here myself but everyone has been really lovely already Smile

Sorry AF arrived Pillow, onwards and upwards to the next cycle!

PillowFort · 02/05/2017 17:28

Sorry I meant flora in my last post. Mixing up names when using my phone again. Blush

PillowFort · 02/05/2017 17:26

AF arrived when I was at work along with some delightful cramps. It's typical that the month we start trying is the first month AF is mysteriously late - what timing!

I hope you're feeling better soon Eva and the cramps ease off for you. I think we all need a little time to feel sorry for ourselves sometimes. But as you've said, it'll all feel more positive in a few days! Smile

florafoxtrot · 02/05/2017 13:59

Congratulations Eva - that's lovely news and so nice to have something else to concentrate on! Hope the results for your STBDH are better on Thursday.

Thanks for the kind wishes ladies. Much appreciated. I do need to just stop feeling so sorry for myself as I'm not the only one in this boat. Know that I'll feel better and more positive again in a few days once AF and her horrific cramps have left the building!

Loxy4527 · 02/05/2017 12:33

Thanks ladies, still got my feet on the ground at the moment.

Basset tell me about it, loads of little spots around my hair line and two giant ones on my back again. Horrible!

flora I'm sorry to hear you've been having a hard time, Hun. Glad you're making a head way on getting tests booked etc.

Thanks eva and congrats on the proposal! Hopefully that'll help take your mind of things a bit and fx for your results x

Welcome, toblerone of course, feel free to get involved or ask questions whenever you're ready :)

PillowFort · 02/05/2017 12:26

Exactly beauty, that's what I was thinking - way to potentially ruin the moment! I hope things improve with your MIL.

Got everything crossed that your little bean is a sticky one, Loxy.

Fx for your TWW basset.

Sorry to hear about AF flora. I hope the tests can give you both some answers and move things in the right direction for you. I hope talking to family has helped as well.

Massive congratulations on your engagement Eva and I've got everything crossed for the sperm analysis results!

Welcome Toblerone. You're welcome to lurk but please don't feel that you can't post, we're all friendly here. Grin

As for me, I've thankfully managed to get a GP appointment outside of my working hours, so no need to say anything to work. However the earliest appointment is in 3 weeks' time...

In the meantime, I'm going to try and wait until the weekend before I test again. Wish my body would make its mind up, one way or the other - the not knowing is driving me nuts.

TobleroneBoo · 02/05/2017 11:52

Morning everyone,

Would you mind if I just lurked on your thread for a bit?

DP and I decided a while ago that we were ready to start our family, but I am very new to all of this and so I dont feel I have the knowledge of it all yet ( hence the lurking).

But I have just come off of my pill after just over 4 years ( 2 of which I havent had AF). In my head, I expected a big bleed once I stopped taking them as I usually got a slight amount when I missed one day. I stopped on 14th April ( so as I say, very very new to this) but no sign yet.

Eva30 · 02/05/2017 11:45

Ah basset I haven't been on here for a while and just got an email that I'd been mentioned - made me feel loved and missed so thanks!!
Well I actually have some news... I have been calling my OH my DH on here for the past year, because I see him as that but we are not in fact married and he is just DP. But on our recent holiday he proposed! So I have been taking some time out to just enjoy that and have been getting all excited viewing venues etc and we have now booked the wedding for April next year. Leaves me in that predicament of ttc with a wedding booked but we are not stopping TTC - what will be will be.
You may remember DP has this issue with sperm agglutination, which is basically sperm clumping together so they can't swim. Due to either infection or antibodies so Dr gave him a course of antibiotics and said take them and we will retest to see if that solves it. He took them and did his repeat sperm analysis last Tuesday and we are booked in at the Drs on Thursday so the results. I am so nervous.
Sorry I have been absent and I will have good read through later but I noticed loxy your post - I have everything crossed for you & bean.
Hope you are all well xx

florafoxtrot · 02/05/2017 10:45

Fx for you Loxy.

AF got me on Sunday Basset - had a total meltdown on Friday night after a docs appointment, two baby bombs and too much wine.

We are at the stage of getting tests now, 21 day bloods for me and an SA for hubby. The meltdown mainly focused around how unfair it is that we are having to go through this when others namely B&SIL just have sex once and get their baby. But I'm feeling much more positive about it all now and trying to look at it as a step in the right direction.

AF fairly is giving me a hard time of things though - horrific cramps and so so heavy. Bloody witch!

How are you holding up in the second crazy week of the TWW?

We've now told my DM and MIL that we are trying and struggling so they know not to make any comments, they had both guessed anyway but its nice to have it out in the open.

bassetmum · 02/05/2017 10:23

I've got everything crossed loxy.

How strange about your mils?? My mil is like my mum and egging is on.

Im in my final week of my tww now and got the most horrendous volcano appearing on my chin.

How are you @Pyjamas81 @Eva30 @florafoxtrot @KittyKat73???

Piehunter · 02/05/2017 10:01

Fingers crossed for you loxy Cake

DancingUnicorn · 02/05/2017 07:23

Will definitely keep my fingers crossed for you loxy. Really hope it's a sticky one for you.

Thanks Anna. I guess it doesn't help that I have no idea where in the cycle I am.

Loxy4527 · 02/05/2017 07:04

You've all hit the nail on the head, its definitely an age thing :P I'm sure she'll love it really but like you said, I don't want her to put her foot in it and say something like that when we do announce!

Right, I would like to claim a new term - instead of a BFP, we have a Little Faint Positive. An LFP. Which is what I got this morning at 10/11 DPO.

Most of you ladies will know this is the third month in a row I've gotten pregnant so no congrats please but all the luck and crossing of fingers in the world is welcome.

Trying to keep expectations in check but I'm really happy that it looks like we have no trouble getting pregnant when the timing is right so I guess its only a matter of time until one sticks.

I have a pic but its ever so faint. I'll upload one tomorrow if it gets any clearer.

Anna2006 · 01/05/2017 16:47

@DancingUnicorn

Anna2006 · 01/05/2017 16:46

@Dancing unicorn

Don't usually comment on this thread but seeing as no one appeared to do any temping thought I would try help! I've charted my cycles for well over a year so am very used to it! Pre-ovulation temps can sometimes jump around a little bit but lutesl phase temps should stay a lot more consistent. But continuous zigzag could suggest something else. Happy for you to private message me with pic of your chart if you like an I can try and help 😊 What app do you use to chart? X

beautyisfoundwithin · 01/05/2017 16:20

Sounds like your MIL wants to avoid getting old Loxy! She'll just have to be a cool, un-granny-ish grandma when the time comesWink

The strange/upsetting thing about my MIL is that it's nothing to do with age or being a grandma, as she already is one! DH's sister has 3 kids who are very much the centre of everyone's universe, so the comment felt a bit personal, like grandkids are great, just not any children that DH and I might produce??? It's actually not the first time she's said something like that, we just have no idea why she feels that way...

You're so right Pillow! I said to DH what on earth would she have said if the news actually was a baby?! Awkward! Sorry to hear you've still not got any answers, I can understand your frustration. Well done on the garden front though! Sounds like you've been very productive!

Sorry Unicorn, I can't offer any help as I've not done any temping myself. Hope you get some answers soon!

PillowFort · 01/05/2017 14:47

Exactly JeNe, I mean we weren't ready to TTC until we had some Johnson's baby lotion - now we're set! Grin But yes, as beauty has said, hopefully it'll be useful soon...

I'm so sorry to hear AF has arrived clean. I would personally still TTC this month, but it's also whether you feel the break would do you some good. Do what you think is best for you. Smile

I'm sorry about MIL's comment beauty. It seems harsh, especially considering they had no idea what your news was. I don't think people think before they speak sometimes. You and DH know you're ready - it's not up to anybody else. Congratulations to your DH on his exciting work news!

My MIL is similar Loxy in that she says she isn't old enough to be a grandmother and we can't get pregnant until she's a certain age (weirdly the goalposts get moved every few birthdays!). I'm sure it's just a joke though and she'd be over the moon when it does happen.

I haven't tried temping yet Unicorn but only because I'm incredibly indecisive about which thermometer to buy!!! I hope the results start making more sense soon.

Another test and another BFN this morning. No AF yet either - I'll be a week late tomorrow. Hmm Symptoms have been up and down - some days I feel okay and other days I'm exhausted a couple of hours after getting up and nauseous all day. I'm going to have to call my GP in the morning. I just really don't want to be taking time off work for doctors appointments because it's only going to make the suspicious questions worse. Confused I don't mean to sound like I'm whining - just frustrated!

On a positive note, we reclaimed a lot of our garden from mother nature yesterday! And I didn't get attacked by a single spider. Wink

I hope everybody is having a lovely bank holiday weekend.
