Hi all,

Thanks for the support. I am going to be more active in this thread to try and return the favour

Ovulation test was negative this morning. So I've decided to stop testing, have lots of lovin', and wait for next month's AF Wink

Eva30 · 07/05/2017 08:53

basset so sorry for the bfn and baby bomb, that really is tough. We started TTC March 16, SIL started April 16, was pg by June and had her baby in February. Whilst of course it is wonderful, I think I actually turned green with envy. Envy (She doesn't know we are ttc). Have you had any tests from Dr?

Thank you for all the lovely congrats.

loxy glad to see all is going well and fingers crossed this week is a breeze for you

Well, I had a complete shock at the sperm analysis re-test results on Thurs. The results were excellent, the Dr actually said "you've got loads of good sperm swimming around there". So next I have app on May 16th to be referred to Gynae. The TTC rollercoaster continues.

Hope youre OK flora what cycle are you on now? Is it about 10?

DancingUnicorn · 07/05/2017 07:49

So sorry for the bfn basset. Really sucks! Fx it's just too early for it to register.

bassetmum · 07/05/2017 07:46

Fx loxy.

I took a frer this morning as af is due tomorrow and it was a white as white can be. Oh well

Loxy4527 · 06/05/2017 15:23

Basset glad you've got someone to talk to in real life too. I've found having someone who's not trying at all but has a child really good to talk to. She's been able to tell me to calm down and I believe her.

Sorry for the negative fairy Flowers

She's staying away still. I have to get through Tuesday to officially be in uncharted territory. I've bought two more tests which I've given to DH. He's under strict instruction to not let me have one until Friday morning. Will be lurking till then, going to try and get through next week with minimal worry.

bassetmum · 06/05/2017 11:35

Bizarrely unicorn. The headache has gone away now.

OP posts:
DancingUnicorn · 06/05/2017 11:23

It's so understandable basset. And hopefully even if your sister picked up a little bit she will understand that it's not personal. It must be so hard knowing if things had worked as you'd hoped then you'd almost have a little one. Really hope the headache isn't an indicator this month!

bassetmum · 06/05/2017 10:23

Thanks all. I felt so jealous yesterday especially as if we had caught first month id be due shortly. I just hope my sister didn't pick up on it. Talking to my mum helped, nice to have someone in person that knows other than me and my OH. I think I am out this month again anyway as I can feel a headache coming on so we shall see.

I'm sorry fairy.

I am quietly optimistic for you loxy. Smile

FairyAnn · 06/05/2017 07:37

Morning all, took a pregnancy test as soon as I woke up and it's negative.

Guess I just had a random weird one-day period and not an implantation bleed :(

I'm trying to track basal temp but I'm all over the shop with that, seems to have gone up and down about 3 times this month Confused

Will try an ovulation test tomorrow and see what happens -_-

beautyisfoundwithin · 05/05/2017 20:48

Sorry basset, for some reason the thread didn't update for me before I posted. Sorry to hear you're having a tough time. I can imagine how difficult it is when you are torn between being pleased for your sister and also being so disappointed that it's not you. And feeling it's unfair that she got lucky on the first cycle! Hopefully it will be your turn very soon.

Still got my fingers crossed for you Loxy.

Fingers crossed for your test as well Fairy.

DancingUnicorn · 05/05/2017 19:21

Lovely news loxy. Really hope it sticks for you!!

DancingUnicorn · 05/05/2017 19:20

Sounds like a plan fairy. Fx for positive!!

Basset I'm sorry. Definitely a bomb and a half! It sounds like your sister handled it best should could though. Did it help talking to your mum? Hope it's your month soon, then cousins can be close in age!

Waiting for af to bigger off here, then giving SMEP a go, with bonus temping. Don't think I'll have the stamina to do it lots of months, but oh seems keen!

Loxy4527 · 05/05/2017 19:18

Hey Basset thanks for asking :) Short answer: still pregnant.

I've had a really tough few days. At first my ICs were getting fainter and fainter so i prepared for another loss. I got really wound up yesterday lunch time and stormed into Boots, grabbed an FRER and immediately used it in the Tescos loos and was gobsmacked by the line that came up. Cried a bit over being in limbo. I called my friend who talked me down and I vowed to stop testing and also not be checking mumsnet every five minutes. Which i have, this is the first time I've been on since Thursday morning.

AF was due today, she's stayed away so far. We're at 14DPO and as long as she stays away until next Friday I'm going to take one more test and then refer myself to a midwife.

JeNeBaguetteRien · 05/05/2017 19:08

Oh Basset sending hugs, that is difficult. I know you will be happy for your sister and at the prospect of being an auntie but it still stings, doesn't it?
Hoping that this is your month or very very soon.

beautyisfoundwithin · 05/05/2017 18:48

Sounds like a good approach flora, I think anything to reduce stress/obsessing during the TWW is a good plan! I'm using the Clear Blue digital ones but not the ones with a flashing smiley, it's either just an empty circle or a static smiley. Without making myself sound totally stupid, I have been avoiding temping because numbers and charts etc is really not my strong point! I don't want to do it if I just get confused and totally mess it up because then it won't mean anything anyway! But maybe at this point I should at least try...

FairyAnn · 05/05/2017 16:43

Am going to try a preg test tomorrow morning bassetmum, then if nothing, an ovulation one on Sunday. Fingers crossed!

bassetmum · 05/05/2017 16:36

Oh dear bold fail there

How is it going loxy?

Glad you are feeling better flora.

Hi toberlone welcome to our board.

Glad af arrived for you pillow.
*
Fairy* any answers yet??

Oh no kitty another long cycle? Did the drs say theyd do anything to help. Hopefully you've just ovulated late.

Yay for weekend statics baguette.

Well Ive not had my normal pre af symptoms this month yet will see come monday. However I have had the toughest day today my sister baby bombed me. Shes due in December and caught the first month Angry its so hard to be positive and happy when its the one thing I so desperately want. My mum and I had a chat about how my sister was worried about telling me because she didnt know where we were with ttc if we were at all. So i finally told my mum we were ttc and on cycle 9. Mum turned around and said get a thermometer as thats what helped me and your dad.

KittyKat73 · 05/05/2017 12:13

oops posted too early

Baguette haha! have a happy weekend!
Beauty i agree with flora to try temping, i havent done it myself but i know alot of the ladies on here swear by it as its the only way to really get a good indication that your ovulating

KittyKat73 · 05/05/2017 12:10

Hey Flora yeah its something i noticed when i first stopped the pill i would have a week where my nipples would be intensely sore then AF would appear about 2 weeks later, i just assumed it must be around when im ovulating and when AF disappeared for 3 months I didnt get sore nips at all so quite pleased they are finally back haha. I have CB ovulation sticks but havent started to use them yet since this is my first cycle after provera thought i would wait and see how long this cycle lasts then ask on here for advice on when to start testing :) we try to just DTD regularly although to be honest with shifts recently it hasnt been much.

florafoxtrot · 05/05/2017 09:47

Still not decided yet Beauty but not been temping so far – a lady on another thread suggesting temping during FW up until about 4dpo just to be sure that its happened and then stopping so might do that alongside OPKs and hopefully that’ll stop me getting so hung up on my temps during the TWW. I honestly don’t think there is a right or wrong answer though in this whole business. I'll need to decide soon though as AF has almost left the building.

You might have missed your LH surge – are you using the cheapy OPKs? And have you been testing more than once a day? Can understand that you are worried but I would recommend a month of temping before going to the docs as its really the only sure fire way of confirming – or otherwise – ovulation and wouldn’t be sure that they would order bloods based on OPK results.

Have an awesome weekend Baguette Wink Grin

beautyisfoundwithin · 05/05/2017 09:31

Morning all.

Good news there with the static smiley Baguette, there are certainly worse ways to spend your weekend Wink

Have you decided what approach to take this month yet flora?

My first cycle using OPKs has been disappointing. Cycle is normally 32/33 days and today is CD24 and I haven't got a positive yet. I haven't tested yet today and only have 2 tests left. Am I right in thinking it's unlikely to happen now as it's so late in my cycle?

DTD has also gone out of the window for the last few days, partly because we've both been really busy with work so shattered, and partly because I've felt like it's kind of pointless if I haven't even ovulated.

If I use OPKs again next month and don't get a positive, should I maybe see a doctor as I might not be ovulating at all? Or am I jumping to conclusions??

JeNeBaguetteRien · 05/05/2017 08:30

Congratulations Eva, fab news.
Have fingers crossed for you Loxy.
Kitty hope AF stays away.

Welcome to newbies.

Got my static smiley today on CD14 after just one flashing smiley so a weekend of shagging awaits! Hopefully with some other activities that include cake.
Have a good day all.

florafoxtrot · 04/05/2017 13:14

Welcome back Kitty - that is so annoying about your long cycles! Although interesting that you have some signs of ovulation so can maybe work out when AF might show up or when you can test? Do you just keep DTD throughout the month?

Thanks for your kind words, I'm feeling a lot better now I'm the other side of AF and she should leave the building over the weekend and we can get back onto it. Still not decided whether to take the relaxed approach this month and no OPKs or temping or what to do!

Hope you enjoy your night out this weekend!

KittyKat73 · 04/05/2017 11:07

Hey Everyone! Sorry I havent been on for a while work has ben manic!

Not much happening over here currently on CD54 Angry going out this weekend for a friends birthday so thought i would do another test just incase theres a happy reason why AF has disappeared again, but since my intense sore nipples came back last week and i think thats when i ovulate im sure AF will turn up when im away for my fancy hot tub overnight stay lol typical!

Congratulations Eva thats amazing news happy wedding planning! hope your next drs appointment goes well and you get positive news
Basset FX for you! and AF stays away.
Unicorn I am soo sorry to hear of your MC and that your back with us. I hope you are well supported Flowers
Flora im soo sorry to hear AF got you, no wonder you got upset its such a horrible mental process having to go through all this espcially when there are so many others getting pregnant straight away. you are not alone Flowers
